So Amethyst fits the first half of Peridot's story. Young Gem raised in a certain culture, going along with their ideology -- not because of any choice she's made, but because it's all she's ever known. But could she fit the second -- being exposed to an alternate worldview and coming to accept that?
I reckon that's what we're being led towards now. Too Far is to blame for that: Peridot introduces to Amethyst the idea that she could have been something "better", and while the episode gives us resolution on the small break that causes between the two, the matter of what Amethyst thinks about this is left unresolved. That's yet to be dealt with.
And remember that massive list of titles that got leaked? Featuring all sorts of Amethyst-sounding episodes like "Steven vs. Amethyst", "Crack the Whip", "The Kindergarten Kid"? Yeah, there's pretty much doubtlessly one hell of an arc coming for her.
