I think a year or two ago some guy was practically giving away the (then) out of stock G2K SHMAs.
A lot of people resell as a service but you can find plenty of great deals too. There's a decent amount of stuff you won't just find on a trip to mandarake, and in the long-run you beat out the shipping cost of individual merch you wanted by getting everything that interest you in a single trip. (Unless you were also financing a trip to Chicago for G-Fest in which case the novelty of witnessing the biggest warehouse of unique kaiju merch is kinda cool, I guess)

When shma gets it right,, they nail. Their kiryu is probaby the best representation of the character outside of those rare as hell dx models that came out in 03/04, and the same goes for 80% of the line. The problem is that they are pretty much stuck on not only godzilla, but probaby the most done and redone era (but GMK and 54 Give hope)

Nobody autistically raged about Bluefin being at G-Fest, the issue is that, for the time being, there were talks of putting them outside of the dealers room to accommodate for their size, which means that people would potentially spend most of their money (on already expensive products like SHMA and $400+ X-Plus) before entering the actual room.

One time, I tried making my own stop motion ish figure. I used the twistie ties you get at the grocery stores like nobhill as the Frame and kept overlaying them till they got stronger. I applied masking tape over certain areas to have the feel of flexibility to compensate and cover the areas I left bare, like the frames for the thick part of the legs
I still need to finish it, but for a thin figure like muto, it would be possible to do
