Ugly, wrong color new mold or lazy, wrong altmode recolor? Can you live with a tiny Shockwave? Ruination/Battle Gaia when?
Old Thread >>5732228
I think we can agree Hasbro really dropped the ball this time.
>>5734509
For some reason I was expecting Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo to be in there...and now I want them to have alt modes.

Hm?
So how many of you are going to go to Hasbrocon next year with all the bronies/SJWs in attendance, and how many are abandoning the official con to go to unofficial cons from now on?
>unofficial cons tend to be packed full of 3rd party
shit, the Hasbro loyalists just can't fucking win anymore.
>>5734565
From the trippy anniversary episode in Energon that made no sense.
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Nekomimi_A_and_Nekomimi_B
>>5734575
Even the SJWs won't touch Hasbrocon, it's going to be 90% bronies and 10% Hasbro loyalists.

will be funny seeing Kayla-Na there because she's gotten at least 2 C&D letters over selling pony smut in the past.
>>5734491
I believe so, hence I added "3P".
>>5734493
FoC is cool but too tiny. Prime Shockwave has those stupid addon things which look terrible.
>>5734497
Not a fan of Energon and supposedly those have very fragile waist joints.
What I'm looking for is something that can sort of replicate Shockwave's Spotlight feature.
>A redeco of the Combiner Wars Stunticons, based on their cancelled Generation 2 toys.
>Well, okay, technically, this set is based on somebody's digibash based on somebody's hand-painted recreation of the cancelled Generation 2 toys, including an erroneous purple and silver Breakdown and some other errors.
>>5734627
Second chance shockwave is your best bet then.
>>5734512
whats that cape robot on the left supposed to be?
>>5734627
>supposedly those have very fragile waist joints.
I have both Energon Shockblast and Sixshot. They're easily My favorite non-MP Shockwaves. I bought them new during Energon and I have never had them break.
The Legends mini Shockwave is pretty cool figure, too.
>>5734636
Not sure where you're quoting that from, but yeah, it's not a perfect recreation. Honestly, a perfect one wouldn't be possible on those molds (for reasons such as Motormaster only being a cab and not a cab+trailer). Overall though, he's pretty close.
>>5734509
> Fandom aspires for bad repaints and retools.
Transfag Stockholm Syndrome is real.
>>5734647
From the wiki, and the inconsistances have nothing to do with shapes and molds, it's about using the wrong colours, which could have easily been avoided.
>>5734536
I might steal it, if I can find a cheap Shockblast.
Shockwave has so many great toys imo
Cybertron is cool aside from the derp alt modes and fuckhuge cannon
FoC is dope as fuck but tiny, can't wait for that 3P
Legends is amazing
Prime is weirdly styalized but still kickass
Animated deviates a lot from the usual look but is still fun
Movie Shockwave is a def fave of mine, second only to FoC, I'm not a fan of movie looks but that toy is rad
MPs only flaw is that crappy colour
And speaking of MP styles theres Quakewave and Quakeblast, both awesome
Then theres a bunch of other odd 3Ps like that huge ass hearts of steel boat one
>>5734672
>Prime is weirdly styalized but still kickass
I hate my Prime version. The QC is horrible on him, and his arms and legs pop off way too easily.
>>5734672
Does anyone have a idea when the 3P Shockwave is going to be realesed?
>>5734509
as much as that is a joke image, I really wish we'd get a proper Sari figure in some form or another(honestly I'm kinda surprised she hasn't been used in a non-Animated continuity yet)
>>5734718
Im still waiting for a new animated Prowl...
>>5734712

Ain't that the truth. Sad state of the fandom.
So why is the Botcon 2016 Tigatron's face so derpy?
>>5734746
Fubpub isn't very good at doing faces, they never have been really

Isn't the other con this year ran by some gay, a boy(?) and a sloth, in that order?

>>5735757

I wish they had done a major remolding of the figure so the legs formed the front of the vehicle. It would have been perfect for both Wheeljack and Lightspeed. It would have made such a huge difference. They remolded almost the whole figure anyway.

I usually hate red with blue, but the red is so minimal that I don't mind at all. Such tasteful color balance.
I'm curious if there's any science behind tastes in color schemes. I know people have different opinions, but do they break down into biological imperatives? Do people with an education in art have a richer appreciation and have more "refined" tastes or is that just elitist justification?
>>5736288

TFCon in the north-east is fine. Large enough. No idea how the US one is, but the "Toronto" one is decent. Location sucks for poorfags like me who bus, but I'm probably in the minorities.
>>5736429
Education in art just means you've spent a lot of time minutely focused on colors and how they interact. That may lead to more refined tastes and more intentionally thought-out opinions.
But the good ol' color wheel and the rules of color compliments and clashes don't come from nowhere. People who study this stuff (obviously not all toy designers) know that there are color combinations that will tend to satisfy people, and others that look like a sour musical chord sounds.
You don't have to be formally educated to appreciate color interaction, though. All you have to do is pay attention to it enough, and you'll start to work out for yourself what you think works and what doesn't. A lot of toy collectors and model builders just pick stuff up on their own.
Or they'll see where someone has added a custom paint app to change a color a few shades in one direction or another, and you realize "Holy shit, it's the same color, but that version of the same color looks a lot better!"
You can draw your own conclusions about whether it's biological or not, but there's plenty of literature out there about color psychology.

Well, for example, I know that the theory behind colors having certain "emotions" is made-up.
... Huh. I guess I was partially wrong. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_psychology
I just remember reading an article saying that it was made-up, probably after reading an article that said it was legit.
I'll see if I can search the internet, though I've always been horrible at research and web searches. I'll try "color theory" after reading that earlier wikipedia article in full.
Like, I wonder why I LOVE those "European"/"G2" color schemes so much, yet there are many people who find them hideous.
>Or they'll see where someone has added a custom paint app to change a color a few shades in one direction or another, and you realize "Holy shit, it's the same color, but that version of the same color looks a lot better!"
Huh. I misinterpreted what you said, but I know also that colors beside other colors change how we see those colors, so they appear to be a different hue or brightness. I wonder how that factors into color schemes.

Pretty much this. At some point it becomes very difficult to modify the existing figure. There have been a few {that IDW Prime one, and another one that does a similar job in lengthening the legs}, but they haven't been to make it like Motormaster. and of course there's no way to make it like the original with cab legs.
I'm pretty interested to see how that IDW Menasor set comes out.
>>5736502
I don't give a shit about making it more like the original robot mode, I hated that. I'm more interested in general improvements to lengthen the torso or give better hands and feet, then fold those up into a grey box with wheels on it that I can plug onto the conspicuous hole on the back of Motormaster's vehicle mode.

It's okay sweetie. Here, have some burgers.
>>5734536
How to make?

Fucking kek underrated post
I know that Armada toys are total bricks, but from the few I've owned like Sideways, the line seems kinda fun. Should I start an Armada collection? I like the unique anime style of the figures as well.
>>5736556
I wouldn't start a collection, but there are some nice molds in there like hoist, unicron, bendy prime, tidalwave and all the minicons
>>5735862
>Cyandog
There is a kit for it
>>5736590
I love kits, but its not the same and everyone I knows it.
>>5736591
>everyone knows it
>>5736509
A trailer would be so much volume, wasted on a robot mode that can't properly utilize it, or compress it all up to hell. Just for the sake of the alt mode.
Stuff like this is the only thing that works out well.

Is anyone making a new Motormaster that works with CW figures?
>>5736611
Well there's that one that's already... "made"

Just the depressing flop that is lonewolf
I was all fucking over this dude, the cw limb lads are cool enough, its just ol motormaster that brings the set down and lonewolf looked like a fucking perfect stand in
Unfortunatly he suffers from being sort of unfinished, nothing tabs or pegs, its all just relying desperatly on friction and it doesnt work
The looks are fucking spot on, but if you move him he flops about
>still no TR Legends class figures out in the US despite a few sites saying this month
Goddamnit, they're supposed to be out this month, and the month's half over. Don't tell me this is gonna release in the last 2 days or something. I just want my Wheelie and Rewind already.
Isn't this that fembot set?
This is from a Singaporean department store btw.
>>5736652
What is the sale price?
>>5736653
Idk it's still unpacked. Big shipment of hasbro goods today.
>>5736656
If you can hook a brother up with some bro prices, please let me know.

I was gonna suggest Pandinus, but I wasn't sure if he was as big as the Titan class figures. Is he as big as CW Devs? I know he's the smallest of the Titans.
>>5736688
I agree, when CW first kicked off with the universal peg system I thought for sure we'd start getting all kinds of scramble compatable 3p limbs and bods, but nope, just a couple add on sets and one failed motormaster
>>5736700
It takes a while to make a new figure, Anon's. And they'd have to shelve their current projects to whip that sort of thing up.

When will they give up?

>When will they give up?
No clue, but am reminded of one of life's truest truths, Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down.
>>5736502
>that IDW Prime one
which one?
>>5736806
I think he means the recent Voyager figure that was retooled from Motormaster
>>5736449
>I'd grab Fort Max before the market prices go up.
But he's such a disappointment.
>>5736159
Hmm, looking at the this picture, and compare it to the CW Truck molds we have available, we have
>Red = Ironhide
>Black/Grey = Off Road
>White = Ratchet/First Aid
>Blue = Takara Breakdown
Soooo......if we get a fifth truck for yellow, who would fit the bill?
