Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'
>http://jungle-scs.co.jp/ - Seems like you can fine some good deals here
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection for any offer/deal

The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

Oh man. I'm not sure which figma to get as my first.

Ooooh. So that's why my friend's couldn't find David over there last month.

Boku no pico.
>>5712455
fox girl. that's why.
>>5712455
Because some people actually have taste
>>5712467
and they were let down once again
>>5712455
The only good caster is Carnival Phantasm's Weeaboo Medea
So Im digging Angela's bottom, is it as nice as it looks in the pictures?
>>5712520
It does, but the posing is kinda limited, you got to get creative to accent the assets.
figma should make Yokai figures, im talking folklore not that Pokemon esque Nintendo game.
Yokai have been loved for centuries and influence all kinds of Japanese culture and nobody owns the copyright to them so why must I ask do no decent figures of Yokai exist?! even a Japanese kind of skeleton ..the two headed one by revoltech I think? gets released before something like a Kappa!
>>5712376
Whaaaat? Yuki is up for pre-order? Where?
>>5712535
>Yuki is up for pre-order? Where?
He's delayed, isn't he?
>>5712535
Yea, I don't think Yuuki should have been posted in the LATEST FIGMAS ON PO since she's not up for PO yet. It'll happen soon though, anon.
What's the point of a poseable Venus? she only has one joint.
Hello. I was wondering if anybody has/had the Berserker armor guts figma, and I was wondering if it's worth it. I can only find them for around $180 and up it seems. I'm a huge fan of berserk, and I recently started being able to afford to buy stuff like this. Thank you.
>>5712739
It's a cool looking figure to be sure. But the cape makes him really back-heavy. I...wouldn't say it's worth 180 to be honest with you. If you're making good money, I would wait and see what happens in the 1/6 realm. There are a few companies making Berserk figures right now and one of them will probably inevitably make a Berserker Guts. It'll probably look way better than this one too.
>>5712739
Lurk Mandarake for a decent deal. Anons snagged him for far less.
Going beyond that, he has nice articulation and movable parts around the arm to enable better flexibility but the biggest shortcoming is the solid plastic cape that hinders a lot of his better torso movement. A custom cloth cape is a must if you want to really pose him.
Also as a cautionary thing be careful when moving his torso. The one I have has gotten loose to the point where it came apart but it's an easy fix. Not sure if I should use a plastic adhesive of some sort to reconnect the top and bottom since there's this flat top part that handles his legs.
>>5712739
If you have tons of money it's probably worth it if you're a mega fan. If you don't have tons of money he's not really a $180 figure. If you see one in the $100-120 range i'd say it's worth that.
>>5712469
Top kek
>>5712739
if you have the money and love Berserk it's worth it. I spent $130 on mandrake a couple months ago and it's my favorite/best figma ever made
tfw you have a Table Museum Figma in a museum next to one of the sculptures
I don't really understand the museum figmas…
>poseable figures
>of IRL statueshit
>>5713605
That's the appeal. Famous statues brought to articulated life so you can do a variety of poses and displays.
>>5713605
Man if you don't think a poseable Vitruvian Man is the tightest shit then get out of my face
It was neat that the exhibit talked about how the plaster ones gave Rodin more flexability for his figures. Of course the figma and its joints make it more posable than any plaster.
>>5712679
Don't say that! We'll get our Dragon by the end of the month~
Of course, like The Thinker, many of the statues from the exhibit are reused / extrapolated single sculpturs from his work on the Gates Of Hell.
Though The Thinker was one of the largest and pretty central.
I'm sure surprised this work of art isn't part of their museum collection.
Those movies were wicked fine art, dood.
Go Sox.
>>5712469
Oh man is that a feeling I've felt one too many times.
dammit.
I love this line.
>>5713860
Well, just that in sculpting clay and plaster casts is easier than just carving marble. Had to look it up again to remembed what I read there. His studio would sometimes reuse plaster pieces to 'Frankenstein' new sculpture. And of course from plaster models they would cast bronze ones. The exhibit said how for decades the plaster casts were considered of lesser value or just junk compared to the bronze or carved marble. Yet for the past few decades their value has been realized, especially as a way to see the artist's vision througb different medium.
I forget which plaster original statue they said they thought was lost but later found tossed aside and buried in rubble.
Some of them are more 'doodles', rough forms, but they convey the artist's work well and many are still pretty refined.

I've seen this meme everywhere, where did it originate from?
To make this figma related here's an ugly quality pic of Nero fondling Arturia that I took a while back, would do more like this, but the lens on my phone camera cracked.
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I’m not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no, I’m a Rodin man
Rodin man burning out his fuse out here alone
And I think it’s gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I’m not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no. I’m a Rodin man.
Rodin man burning out his fuse out here alone
And all this science, I don’t understand
It’s just my job, five days a week
A Rodin man. A Rodin, man.

can someone give me a quick review of these three figmas? I've only got enough to get one
>lucina
>motoko kusanagi Arise movie version
>motoko kusanagi S.A.C version
also what happened to the red jacket Arise motoko figma? was it cancelled?
>>5714324
Get Motoko Arise version, it's the best of the three listed
>>5714324
It's called Google.
You could use it and find answers in 10 seconds instead of waiting for who knows how long for somebody to spoonfeed you your answers.
>>5714324
SAC > Lucina >>>>> Arise piece of shit
how long is the average figma production cycle? i remember elsa was announced a few months ago and there's only been one picture of an unpainted prototype so far and no news
>>5714357
There is no average. They take years to release some after announcement, then announce and release others that day.
>>5714340
>implying Arise Motoko isn't great solely for the bodyswapping potential
>>5714369
>disgracing other characters with a shitty tacticool body
>>5714357
I remember way back when they had a painted prototype of a ryougi shiki figma wearing the pink kimono (clothes were fabric, not sculpted), that ended up scrapped, others we've never even seen an unpainted prototype, then bam! announcement and release date within a month.
>>5714101

Rider 2.0
Kotomine Kirei (bit too late too, especially with Kiritsugu's arc being done), also predicting about only black key and the rest of the black keys are sculpted wolverine fists.

Saber 2.0 rerelease
Archer rerelease
Rin and Shirou 3.0 of their original clothing+Archer arm
Dark Sakura
Illyasviel von Einsbern
Assassin (skull)
Can a kind soul point me into the 2chan/futaba threads and pictures for the New Movie Ver Motoko? I cant find them on my own...
>>5714324
I've got both the SAC and New Movie Motokos. NM Motoko has more realistic proportions and gets the great tactical suit, which is useful if you ever plan to do headswaps. SAC Motoko is a good figure too though, she's my true favorite overall because I love the series so much more than the new movie. But from a pure figure perspective I'd go with New Movie Motoko.

Does anyone who have Satsuki head swaps?
I knoe her head doesn't fit on Asuka or Rei's body. I'd like to put her in something fancy or everyday looking.
>>5715252
The only thing I've headswapped her with so far is my Figma Kamen Rider Femme. I'll try a couple of swaps and take pics of it later if you want senpai, but I don't have the biggest selection of Figmas.
That would be kind of you. Satsuki-Sama and the two eva girls are all I have, so you got a lot more than me.
There's a lot of Saber black suit bootlegs. I might get one of the $20 ones if I knew Satsuki could fit it.

The swap with Metis blends in quite well too, so I guess if you're into robotic QT-3.14s this could work.
AigisXSatsuki is fucking weird.

I dug out my old figma Haruhi and unfortunately the figure as well as the extra faces and hands are sticky. Washed everything by hand using hand soap, and I'm letting everything soak in a bowl of warm water and soap for a while, so hopefully that helps.
I found my figma Yuki and her skirt is sticky as well, so I'm gonna have to wash her afterwards. This sucks.
>>5715828
I think it's the shape/size of their heads and the mismatched skin tone.
Someone needs to try Satsuki on swimsuit Sonico's body.
>>5715828
>I wonder if it's the plasticizers leaking or something, I've only really seen that happen to revoltechss tho.
The craziest thing is that I own a lot of older Revoltechs (Krauser, Ultra Magnus, and Yotsuba) and none of them have gotten sticky or anything.
>>5715837
Same actually, I have the old bandaged Rei, Asuka and Krauser and they're still in perfect condition.
Maybe it's more likely to happen in warmer countries, as a Britfag I don't need to worry about that.
>>5715252
I use Satsuki's body all the time, also Satsuki works fine enough on Dress Sabers body.
>>5715843
The body just works but looking at all these headswaps disappointed me.
>>5715843
>>5715850
Satsuki's a lady, you have to put her on elegant bodies when she isn't on her own.
>>5715899
>>5715902
But yeah, her body works best on blondes i've come to find... either that or Saber just works on most things.
>>5715906
In terms of bodyswap/headswap though... nobody beats Dark Pit.
>>5715692

>all this Ryuko

>lol $150 fucking damn near everywhere
Goddamnit why won't they just re-fucking-release old figmas like Revoltech does with revo's.
>>5716215
They are very detached with their fanbase.
>>5716215
Mandy? I remember my early search for her and finding a consistent price of 7k which the occasional 4k popping up on listings. Not sure how it is nowadays.
>>5716215
They do. Ryuko shelfwarmed for MONTHS after release, there's no way they'd reissue her. It's not their fault you were late.
>>5712365
Plaster or bronze Thinker?
>>5716262
Yeah, Ryuko sold like shit and now there's high demand even though stock is diminished. Probably because the show aired on Toonami and had a passable dub, so now English fans are fighting over remainder stock.
Probably didn't help that some people were genuinely waiting for the school uniform version.
>>5716317
The fact that there were 30 releases before we actually got Satsuki also didn't help.
Then there's all the people who were waiting for Ryuko in her school uniform suddenly realizing that ain't happening would lead to a late buying frenzy.
>>5716317
I know I was only interested in an untransformed version. Don't actually like the transformed design much.
>>5716197
>>5716197
Fuck! Now I want Lucina just for that cape.
>>5715834
Already done by the guys on futaba
>>5716386
The legs got me
>>5716347
how did you lift the legs that high? I thought the skirt were too stiff for that sort of pose
The fact Tomoyo Daidouji doesn't have a specific release date for June yet despite her being almost exactly the same, if not more simple than Sakura's school uniform version is worrying. Or maybe I'm just talking out my arse and should give Goodsmile more credit.
>>5716404
I would've bought Sakura's figure but the preorder bonuses are too good. Will await one with the clow book at a coming toy convention.
>>5716404
It isn't always a matter of how simple or complex a figure is. When GSC has to manage production lines for all of their different products at once, it's inevitable that some fall between the cracks and get delayed just because they prioritized other products.
>>5716404
Just finished watching the series.
My nostalgia memory didn't remember how gay the series was when I was younger.
>>5716404
do they really have the exact same body? usualy GSC differentiates the sculpt

they really ramped up the gay as the series progresses, manga end gave me diabetes though

>>5716337
A bit of Master Asia syndrome, too.
He was a niche product released long after Domon was off the market. People who didn't have Domon bought up aftermarket figrues and shot the prices up. Other people outright refused to buy Master Asia because there was no Domon or they were waiting for a reissue.
Master Asia's sales were terrible and he eventually hit clearance bins, completely tanking any future G Gundam releases.
>>5713611
I need to stock up on effect parts. I want Venus on my shelf doing air dashes, David doing Genocide Cutters, and Vit Man dropping a 720 on The Thinker.

On the one hand, Shirou's scarf isn't too related to the series.
On the other, it would make a damn fine prop for other figures.

>just snagged racing miku 2015 ver for about 66 USD
>after paying for a hefty phone repair bill
I regret nothing
>>5717059
Can someone explain the appeal of Miku to me? What anime is she from? What does she do? I don't understand why she has so many figma. As far as I know she's just a meme mascot like Sonico, except she's not a thick titty monster, so there's even less appeal.
And what's with that weird pink > flesh color fade on her dress?
>>5717072
Vocaloid music and even though she's not real she has a lot of albums made from her voice and other vocaloid characters.
It's understandable if you don't like her design but she has some mass appeal to the point where she's bound to pop up somewhere.
>>5717072
Oops. I used to listen to a couple vocaloid songs back when it first started out and was super hype, then I realised actual human singers sound better 90% of the time. To me, shes just a character for artists to redesign and interpret in their own style(ie fanart). The skirt thing is just a design choice.
Anyway, repostan because I realised the pic was fuckhuge for not a lot of quality
Her legs and skirt are so articulate, its amazing. Well worth the money, although accessories are kinda lacking. Would have liked an additional faceplate, at least the cards and stuff the other racing mikus have are kinda easy to build from scratch.
>>5717084
>It's understandable if you don't like her design but she has some mass appeal to the point where she's bound to pop up somewhere.
I don't actually mind her design. I like the look of the translucent fade hair, I just never understood why she has so many figma when her design seems to stay the same aside from outfit changes. And if she has no source material like anime/manga, where are the designs coming from?
Like this one >>5717089 says Goodsile racing, but she has some weird lance/umbrella and a surfboard/shield? And the ex:ride motorcycle one, did Miku ever actually ride one? Where/when?

Are you autistic? Serious question.
>>5717114
No but the questions are.
>>5717146
Is that because you don't know the answer to them? It's okay to like figures without knowing their source material you know, I'm just asking if there is any.
>>5717095
I'm sure these 'Racing Miku' variants are just promos and designer renditions. I have the motorcycle one (the one where she's wearing the jacket, not around her waste.)
>>5717151
>I'm just asking if there is any
Because people like the design(s). That's literally all there is to it.
>>5716404
I always assume that every figma I preorder gets delayed atleast a month, saves me from disappointment.
>>5716407
I hate the GSC exclusive bonuses but my ocd completionist drives me nuts knowing if I don't buy it from GSC's shop, I'll miss a face/accessory. I don't wanna risk having to pay absurd prices on the aftermarket so I preorder to avoid it.[Spoiler]I'm a sucker[/NoSpoilerOnToy]
>>5716411
Good news for you then, Manga sequel was just released a couple of days ago, a new anime is in the works too.

I don't know, probably? figma Lelouch and Suzaku had the same body.
>>5716417
>>5716462
I'm still hoping for a figma Syaoran, green battle costume, school version heck even the princess outfit will do! My Sakura needs her husbando.
>>5717095
People like/love Miku's general look and the design variety lends another set of appeals also. Also since she has a base design to work off of there's a lot of potential for outfits and special themes that are given to her character throughout to the point where it's really surprising.
If you look at the sheer amount of Nendoroids she has it says a lot since there's a Winter Miku design contest being done per year now.
>>5716993
She'll have one, it's just the dress and tail are covering it.

Heres how it goes
>"Gentlemen, its that time of the year again"
>"We need to extor- gather money to fund our racing hobbies"
>"We've reached out to a couple artists and asked them to submit some concepts, and here they are as usual"
>guy flashes some designs on the screen
>head honcho looks around and observes the number of erect dicks
>"guess we're using this"
>[uncontrollable erections]
There is no backstory or lore or anything, they just make a design that tickles the market's fancy, where the only common theme is twintails, miku colors and race_queen.
>>5717348
That makes sense, I often let my dick control my wallet.
Thanks anon.
Which are your favorite Racing Mikus?
2015>2011>2013(biker)>2013>brown sluts>2014(both)>the rest
>>5717382
Oooooooooh, I like the far right. Which one is that?
>>5717388
The progenitor, lost to the sands of time.
The 2010 original Racing Miku by redjuice
>>5717388
Also fun fact the IRL race queens actually wear adapted designs.
>>5717402
Jesus christ that butterface on the right.
I wonder if she acknowledges that she's the ugliest of the trio.
>>5717407
Whats a butterface?
>>5717427
Ahhh, I see.
Its probably those massive eyebags or her lower eyelids.
Anyway, enough about 3dpd.
im really excited for the solider to come out
>>5717427
My standards aren't that high, she's not just what I'd call an attractive Asian, especially compared to the two qt pies standing next to her.
>>5716337
we all know that only the most extremely popular characters get multiple bodies which is why I didn't get my hopes up for a uniform version. but bandwagoners don't.
>>5717095
Miku is extremely famous as a vocaloid, she's been around for 9 years now. She has all the appeal of an idol without any of the downsides (human vices, costs, having to eat, etc.) and was designed to generally appeal to most otaku regardless of extreme personal preferences. That's why she's not too tall, not too busty, and so on. Her only real defining trait is her hairstyle and her voice. She's sold millions of records (with somewhere between 20,000 and 100,000 unique songs), topped the oricon charts many times (japanese billboard), sold out shows on two continents, and launched the careers of many musicians and producers. She also has her own video game series.
>>5717476
I hope his aftermarket price isn't too bad. Not interested enough to get him at release, but he looks fun enough. The AN-94 is especially cool to see at that scale.
>>5717733
it's metal gear, stocks will be gone in a month
>>5717733
If Snake's figma is any indication, he'll have the same price for a while. However, his face won't have any QC issues, so unless there's any at all, his price will surely ridiculously increase overtime.
>>5717733
Fool!
He's an army builder that works with anything! Metal Gear, super heroes, post apocalypse, just plain military. People are gonna guy the max amount allowed, then go to the next site and do the same.
>>5717804
People said the same thing about the new Motoko but she's still available.
You'd have to be pretty fucking rich to army build a ¥6000 figure.
>>5717810
Those people are dumb. If the old and more popular Motoko didn't sell out instantly, why would the new one? She will sit around for a while. She's probably selling well enough but it's nowhere near autistic sperg fan demand like Saber 2.0 was.
With how shitty Snake turned out the demand on more MGS stuff is probably pretty low.

god i want that
Figma Balzac is here at last!
I honestly think she's a QT, was a bit worried cause some of you posted that her paint apps sucked, but mine looks alright.
>>5718375
looks like ball sack
>>5717804
You know what kills any hype for a good army builder? A high price which makes buying multiple quickly expensive.
Here is a quick pic I took of her and her new deskmates. While changing their poses for this pifcture I realized what a difference these new bodies make! Motoko's articulation is particularly impressive. Lucy's starting to show her age. She's still my favorite cause waifu, but the newer figures are a lot more fun to pose
>>5718387
>not having them stand on their bases
here's the obligatory head swap. I don't think Angela's body goes too well with Lucinas head.
The collection keeps growing damnit.
Still gonna get a few more this year
No news on him? Weren't prototype pics hinted at?
>>5718394
>>not having them stand on their bases
>Limiting your schoolgirls to their bases.
>>5718435
wonfes less than 2 months away
>>5718420
you should marry her
>>5718437
Was hoping we'd get a peek of it before the ML version hits. If it looks significantly better, I would cancel my preorder for that one
>>5718485
hahahaha, you'll be lucky to see a proto before the end of next year.
>>5718440
M...marry her????
>>5717940
An announcement will come soon, to coincide with the new anime.
>>5718513
save her from the life of being a ball sack. or else she might end up like Johnny here.
>>5718435
One of the Max Factory bigwigs made a tweet a few days ago that was roughly along the lines of "I enjoyed the Deadpool movie. The Figma is shaping up nicely, and we can hopefully show it off in the not-too-distant future." Which sounds like we'll see a prototype at WonFes next month.

what the hell?
>>5718435
Haha, you got trolled newfag.
What's your favorite school girl and why?
Why is it not Mugi?
>>5718916
mugi sux
>>5718485
Of course it's gonna look better
>>5718916
I only got her because the raincoat was neat and for the monkey arm but she poses really well but now I moved her to my Little Armory team. After watching Bakemonogatari she's surprisingly lewd.
>>5718963
I know that, I meant better enough to justify spending the extra money on it.
>>5718916
Because Mugi prefers BBC
>>5718916
I have to say, even after all these years the haruhi figma(s) are still my favourite, all those faces and accessories
>>5718435
The new hasbro Deadpool in the X-Men line comes with an alt burn face, 2 swords, 2 pistols, a sci-fi rifle, some kind of shotgun/grenade launcher, a bazooka with a boxing glove for a warhead, and a chimichanga.
I kinda doubt this one will have the same amount of goodies.
>>5717476
>ordered 4 of them
Forgive me, wallet.
Hope they can handle other weapons well. Should've bought more LA hands.
>>5719031
Isn't it sold out everywhere though?
>>5719122
I'm pretty sure the LA hands will be too small for figures like that. They look okay with little girl figures.
They need to release man size hands
>>5719031
It's also a ML toy so it'll look like ass.
>>5718915
confirmed you twat
>>5719031
>No accesories
>Head without the mask is GSC online store exclusive
>Swords come with the figfix, you get 2 pistols if you preorder from the GSC online store
>>5719128
It's not even released yet. Right now I've seen the Absorbing Man and Red Skull Onslaught waves, with some people managing to find the Giant Man wave.

>>5712365
Oh shit. I need to get ordering. I've got the Thinker and I love him. Definitely need David and the Vitruvian Man, and maybe Venus too.
