Like I said I paid via Paypal, it wasn't a gift, and he hasn't provided proof of postage so I should have no problem getting my money back if things go bad.
The guy has a pretty unique name so I was easily able to find him on Facebook.
Would it be weird of me to add him as a friend and attempt to hurry him along?
What else can I do? I emailed him yesterday asking for a tracking number and he hasn't replied.
I find it hard to believe that a dude in his 20's doesn't check his emails at least once a day, especially considering he's selling other shit on ebay.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I hate shitty service like this.
When I sell stuff I always try my best to post the next day, providing the post office is actually open, failing that it's the day after, and I always update my buyers on the status of their order.

Why does the shitty 1979 Kenner 12inch Alien figure sell for 400+ and over a thousand in its box when it's made out of shitty brittle plastic, has 4 joints, and is prone to fall apart when you look at it funny. You just email the anon who has an item you'd like to buy. Ask for pics to make sure he's fuckin or if the figure is damaged in any way. Make the transaction through paypal and voila. It's done.
Good sellers provide tracking and such, and if you never get the figure you bought in the mail then you can notify paypal that you've been scammed and you have to post it on the BST who it was.
