Not always. It's just the date that stores are allowed to begin listing them which can also be a month or two before it comes out depending on what the catalog says. Some stores do it slightly before, and some drag their feet. And it's not consistent or announced beforehand like collector's figures either. But checking won't hurt.

In addition to the usual proportions fixes, the biggest change to me is how much more screen accurate the eyes and crest look. I've always hated that oversized crest on the W mold. Labels on the gaia memories is a nice touch too. And of course, the infamous black elbow.

This is a thread for toys and merchandise, and there really isn't much worthwhile Ultraman product being put out these days. Kamen Rider gets much more collector level stuff in comparison.
It'll change when the Figuarts Ultraman comes out in a couple of months and people will be excited to see how it is. I'm looking forward to doing some goofy shit with the building effects.
On that note, though, are the 1.0 Ultra-Acts pretty much Figuarts sized? If so then I'd probably like to pick up that Belial that's been teasing me for so long but I couldn't bring myself to get because he'd be too short to be next to Zero.

That red metallic turns A burgundy color very quickly once exposed to open air.

It's an unfortunate side effect to putting a metallic pigment over a silver base. The silver will begin to bleed through as the red pigment sets in to the plastic and just naturally fades with time.
It's more noticeable on reds, greens and blues than any other colors

Try Mebius or Tiga next. Mebius has even more references because it's an anniversary show, but it's not really an issue and it gives you a taste of Showa. Mebius/Mirai is also really moe, if you're into that.

I'm pissed because I bit the bait when they reissued renewal Ultra-Act Ultraman but got a figure with fucking floppy thigh joint right out of the box. I'm actually a Kamen Rider fan who loved the very first Ultraman because it's what I grew up with, so I figured, might as well grab that.
Really was a bad experience. I'm actually hesitant to grab this coming one but out of the few SHF I own, none of them have come with loose joints, so I guess that fact alone is still tempting me to grab this new shf ultraman... I'd be pissed though if they did another renewal of it.

It's perfectly average. Nothing offensive about it, but also nothing great. Plays practically everything very safe. It's only really worth watching if you have nothing else to watch, I'd rate Ninninger the same as well.
For some reason though, it's sparked a huge shitposting spree over in /krg/, but then again, most things do over there.

yup, I'm a SIC guy who... really, stopped buying SICs too cause Takeya left it for a bit and I wasn't liking any of the newer ones other than Super 1, ZX and the 2 delicious SIC Shin's.
Then I got an ultra-act, missed the boat on shf black black rx and zo (my fav), figured that's my fav Ultraman other than Tiga and 7, so will bite as a test for shf. Turned out to be shit qc, I hesitated on Black RX shf but gave in and was surprised at just how much better it was.
Now, honestly I'm debating if I should bite for ultra-act Ultraman or not... plus they have eleking and baltan. Tempting but kind of ruined my trust for them (I know I wont put a dent on their earnings though if I dont, just wondering if it'll be a good purchase or not)
Is SHF Kiwami Gaim any good? I've heard of the fruits basketto sticker on the inside of the chest coming off, but is it overall solid? I want to finish Gaim's main three forms before going into the form changes.

I remember a few people posting about QC problems besides the sticker when it came out. To clarify the sticker issue though, it's not that it was falling off, it's that it was poorly planned and the results were frequently poorly applied and visibly wrinkly. The sticker actually holds on quite well.
Mine has a slightly wrinkled sticker and some paint errors on the large special weapon that required a little touch up. Besides that though, the figure *IS* pretty nice: good paint overall and nice details.
