According to a script leaker, Kaiju A is a trilobite throwaway monster for Goji to fight, and Kaiju B is a parasite from nuclear fallout. Godzilla is decaying, not regenerating. Well that's the price now. When he was released I think he went for somewhere between 70-90 dollars. He's out of production and SHMA tend to shoot up in price, hence the 245 dollar price tag.
You might be able to find him slightly cheaper on mandarake. You might also be able to get a good deal if you scour ebay long enough, but don't get your hopes up.

Probably one of the two 2014 Godzilla versions as well.
I also recommend the Neca 1954 Godzilla since it's a great figure and pretty damn cheap compared to Monster arts. Their Pacific Rim Kaiju are nice too.
But assuming that is a legit Kiryu it's a pretty good opportunity.

If you're talking purely about kaiju figures, I think Kiryu might be my favorite in the SHMA line. He's a lot of fun to fool around with and looks fucking great on display.

I get why they choose to do Eva exclusives the way they do, the Eva-01 has an iconic color scheme and all. That said, it makes me long for a proper crossover. get some eva artists to redesign Optimus Prime or Godzilla in the style of their Universe. Or get Takara Tomy to do transforming Evas, or maybe do something where Jet Alone was rebuilt with cybertronian tech. Ot have Toho's crew make up a practical effect style Eva and have a figure of that.
Of course, all that is more expensive than just slapping new paint on an existing figure, but it'd be nice eventually.

I never use electronic features on toys, ever. I think the only toy of mine that actually has batteries is my Beast Wars Optimal Optimus from when I was a kid. The only electronics feature on a toy I thought was well done lately was my Hot Toys robocop, which actually has a remote control to activate it, which is very nice. Still I don't actually use it.
Still, I think I may go for this just because it'd be nice to have a Godzilla that looks nice in a regular size case(most of my Monster arts are in a small cabinet because they look awkward in a detolf) That said, it doesn't seem as dynamically posed as the X-plus stuff, and while its articulated the ranges seems limited, and its not a very exciting default pose, all things considered.
