I think he definitely is Blitzwing due to the triangles on the sticker sheet, which look like they're optional wing stickers. In which case, why would you make a tank/jet triple changer, when you have Astrotrain? It'd be crazy to not have Blitzwing.
And as for the "club" no, it just looks like he's getting the standard two weapon treatment with Titan Returns, that being one of them (the fusion cannon) is his regular weapon, then he comes with an additional weapon (which may or may not be part of the tank turrent) where the headmaster can sit.

And, for the record, dune buggies are still cars, but if you want to be a pedantic dick about it I can rephrase my statement to be "green/orange robot that turns four-wheeled motor vehicle and a helicopter."
Either way, the point remains that saying they are "nothing" alike is simply not true. That doesn't mean they don't have their differences, but they're similar enough for it to make sense to remold the toy of one to make a toy for the other. It certainly made more sense than when they made Doubledealer from Blitzwing.

You have a few options, but my personal favorites are the generations/classics seekers, based on g1 designs, they do alright but quite old and can fetch a high price, they come in classics (star scream/skywarp/ramjet only) generations, henkei (starscream pictured) and united (triple box sets) as well as botcon paint deco versions, price jumps between them but I'd avoid classics versions due to rub signs over tampo print insignias.
Next is war for cybertron starscream (wfc), based on the high moon game design, again takara and hasbro "generations" designs (hasbro's pictured), if you can get over visible head syndrome he's game accurate.
Then there is the dark of the moon/movie advanced starscream, despite its size its more accurate than the voyager, the movie advanced gives you 2 axe blades over the mech tech spinning blade the hasbro dark of the moon version, but the movie advanced's deco is closer to the orignal movie starscream than the tatt job dotm got.
Each of these comes in typical skywarp and thundercracker paint jobs with the coneheads also there for the generations/classics seekers.
I'd also recommend the generations starscream if you're into transformers armada, the legends version also gives him his "thundercracker" paint job, articulation they all do "ok" but move starscream and his chicken legs is the weakest, transformation wise wfc is the easiest but movie starscream is a fiddly fuck the first time.

Its not mine, I grabbed it from ebay, I posted it because the nub marks actually make me feel grateful about my hasbro version (which has nubs but least they're chopped off and not sticking out like some 12yr and his first gunpla, pic related)
I heard these supposedly have some added diecast in some areas like the legs, otherwise I would NOT reccomend it, worked out cheaper buying the hasbro one in my case.

Last I seen they were in the side of the legs, really they stand fine on their own unless you go dynamic in which hasbro's included stands do wonders, the heel spurs for the feet are still a massive improvement from the mp03 mold.

Those with the coins are the asia reissues from...last year or the year before I think and not "overly" rich in deco (head not painted gloss black, nose cone plastic grey rather than painted grey over blue plastic) are cheaper than the initial japanese batch, if you want to take your chances watch amiami's pre-owned or mandarake, they'll still cost alot even with any sort of damage but you'd know those are legit.
Personally I'd trust any ebay sellers selling them with coins from taiwan or really, anywhere NOT china but its your call.
Also I loved takara sunstorm over my ronald mc donald but the price at the time was fucked, $120aud shipped for a second hand in mint sealed my choice, gives me a joke because of his head color.

I'm a bit confused why the Seeker KO's are so pricey. The KO's for the cars are like $30-35. I would think the Seekers could be done for $60 easily, especially since they aren't upscaled or anything.

It was my own personal thought based on things already established. I don't see what the fuck makes it absolutely bonkers. All I'm saying is based off of what we have, how long we've had it, I doubt a Tarn figure will come for the reason that a Decepticon torturer might be a bit far for Hasbro. Overlord was already a pre-established character that IDW made violent. And Megatron is Megatron, so of course he's okay. Can you show off another Decepticon toy who is regarded as a sadistic torturer on a toy bio? Not to mention, he's an IDW only character, and not all of them have gotten figures. And if this comic arc is the last time we see Tarn, if it finishes his character, it would be a bit odd to ship a Tarn figure after this already happened. And you really can't pack in comics with the DJD in with the Tarn figure, for the reason of being that violent.
This is just like as if I said I doubt Minimus would have gotten a figure. It's great that we got him, but is it crazy to have thought before hand that he wouldn't come?

Good points, only IDW characters we've gotten were windblade (fan vote though) and minimus ambus (white mini inner robot for magnus stand in), they could re-write tarns bio a bit (I just knew him as a fanatical decepticon loyal to megatron's ideals regardless if megatron is actively leading him or not).
I suppose the main issue with tarn is giving him a toy that gives his IDW design justice, its gonna need friggin top shit at a decent scale or kids will just discard him, and even adults as they can't associate with the character from their childhood.

He was one of the little-known target master toys. He had some airtime in the show too.
He was my favorite transformer as a kid, I broke one of his arm guns too. Also I played with him so much his knee joints lost every bit of lubrication for the springs in them so he squeaked SUPER FUCKING loud every time he was transformed. I'm really glad he's getting a new figure.

I'm pretty even with Headmaster gimmicks and targetmaster gimmicks. I think they are both fine. I would have preferred they made him with a targetmaster instead of making him a headmaster, but the fact that he is getting a toy at all I think is fantastic. He hasn't had any figures since 1987.
