It says total collection but it's just my total MSIA collection (minus the few G and Wing stuff I have from my childhood that I don't actively collect).

This doesn't include my 1/6 which is partially displayed on two longer shelves and a large book case on the opposite wall

As a Gundamfag I admire & appreciate what you have when I see it, but you really need to take better pics.

>>5611289
You need to make better use of space, arrange things differently, & try some unique poses for goodness sake.

Also, given the bottom isn't well lit, you might want to consider putting your lighter colored figures down there as they'll still pop in the darkness, whereas the others get lost.

>>5611454
Pretty much this. Black collects dust soooooooo easily, it's retarded. Unless it clashes with your stuff, go white. Or cream/tan, should the option be available.
>>

Yeah I rearrange it quite often but I can never find anything that works well. If I had a third display case maybe, but I just do not have room for that.

I try my best, but whenever I try any interesting or dynamic poses they end up falling the fuck over.

>>
Here are the shelves of my detlof. Yes it's cluttered, yes I need risers, but I love it.
>>
>>5611745
A darn shame, really. But hey, even with the phone, can't you just make the room brighter? It'd help. Brighter bulbs, a flood light, etc.

>>5611779
Maybe you should use symmetry as a theme; pairs of two, triangle formations, just a sense of balance. Could spark things up a bit. As for poses, you need some stands, even if only the metal wire variety. Alternately you can have some of them in seated positions or relying on one another's weight. Your poses don't have to action oriented though, they can be plain old fun or silly.

>>5612131
Dusting must be hell.
>>
>>5612131
All those solid as fuck poses.

Also what is that blue figure at the top right?
>>

>>
What's the consensus on displaying figures on card, I don't see that often. I was thinking of trying to find some sort of acrylic stands like old ladies might use to display plates. Currently what I have (mostly duplicates of opened figures) are just propped against the back of my cabinet.

>>5616649
>>5616701
This is nice enough but Sting is and always will be shit. I think only people from the midwest and the south cared about WCW. But you did a good job tastefully mixing statues and figures, though I think there's too much on display.
>>
>>5616907

>>
>>5616909
Haha, I'll take it. I got a good chuckle from that.
>>
>>5616909
Yeah I honestly have too much shit for my townhouse. Like I said most isn't even out, I'll cut down on the displays then they gradually grow back and also I try to keep my living area more "adult" so it's mostly boring shit, no toys. WCW was the most popular show on the planet for like 3 years straight, Sting was awesome, perfect anti hero the one wrestling needed but didn't deserve. The year long build up to Starrcade 97 is unmatched imo.
>>
>>5616898
Kek, so what would you recommend then? Displaying less stuff?
>>
>>5616953
There's only three reasons people need risers: elevated action scenes beyond the height limits of Stage Act stands, displaying small/SD figures, and making their clusterfucks even more clusterfucked while pretending that it's having the opposite effect

Nope. The tape player has a whole different story.
The short version is I bought that tape at MAGfest the hour the album was released and used that player to listen to it. Later a friend of mine who was doing a Star-Lord cosplay (and the reason I brought the player to the con) went to go buy the album. Either Murphy or the Commander (don't remember) liked the tape player so much he told my friend about how the album fits within the protoverse, something nobody knew at the time.

I know a dude who has an incredible collection, he buys almost everything TF, GI Joe, He-man, and Star Wars... the kicker is that he is a MISB collector: he opens like, none of it. Maybe 2% of the stuff, that can be resealed, he will open, but most of it remains entombed forever.
Note that these figures are stacked like 3-5 deep on the pegs.

Nice lighting too. I've been looking into buying some led strips for my shelves, but can't find any that are the right length. What kind are you using and how much are they if you don't mind my asking.

The second, black figure looks to be Hot toys Man of Steel General Zod. Starts around $170 on eBay; Mandarake may have it cheaper.

The Batman is a DKR version, but the only 1/6 DKR I know of is MEdicom's, and its the black cowl version. That may be a custom.

I cannot help with the poster.

What I was thinking original but I'm scared of prolonged tension on the straps would eventurally break them. My DX Kaixa Driver broke awhile back because of heat. >>
>>5619963

Half of those figures are from shit films, some of them weren't even popular.

4chan was developed as a weeb utopia, all the add-on boards are incidental to its popularity expansion. You can't just give a "no..." and revise history and pretend what you're saying has merit. It doesn't. You're just an immigrant from an expansion board that thinks they can impress some foreign values into this board, which not surprisingly was propped up by tokushit and other weebness in its formative years. You ARE an outcast, we're letting you set up shop here as a sign of goodwill.

To me its more the selection of figures. If it was all interesting stuff like Predator or Robocop or whatever, it'd be cool, but why the fuck would you have There will be Blood action figures? That's's a weird thing I find about the 1/6 community; the need to have 1/6 representations of pretty mundane, boring design. I get aliens and cyborgs and superheroes, but why would you want a regular circa-1800s man toy? So boring.

And I like a lot of those movies, too, but they make terrible action figures. These things were SNL jokes decades ago (Philadelphia action Figures!)

It's definitely more boring than 1/12 collections.

The lack of range of figures in 1/6 scale means a lot of the collectors have pretty similar collections where as with 1/12 you can find a much wider range of collectors and figures which leads to much more interesting collections.

1/6 collections are impressive but pretty generic on a whole.

Yes it is. I'm well aware of how tacky/weeb it is, but there's some history behind it.

Like I implied here>>5610876, I'm from New Orleans. To keep a long story short, the night before Hurricane Katrina hit, I was 18 and went to this crazy wild party with my girlfriend. We rented a hotel room, had drunk/high sex the whole night, and I woke up with a wicked hangover. After I dropped her off and went back to my parents' house, my mom said we had to leave because a huge hurricane was coming. Well, we had packed up left for hurricanes MANY times and NONE ever hit, so I decided, fuck it, I'll just throw some random shit in a bag and hit the road. The next day, the hurricane flooded our house and I lost pretty much everything except that shirt and a few other random but worthless things. I framed that air brushed shirt (which was one of the first things I actually airbrushed myself) because it felt good to actually have something survive destruction.

Sappy story, I know, but I don't even have the shirt hanging up anymore. Replaced it with a Jerry Rice jersey because I'm a huge 49er fan (even though I live in Saints Nation) and it looks better in my new room.

Who'd have thought, right? But it has a lot to do with my upbringing. My mom was an ocd neat freak, and my dad always stressed to me and my brother the importance of taking care of our shit (a black dad involved in his kids' lives? Another shocker).
>>
>>5624525
Patrice O'Neal had a really interesting discussion on O&A how a lot of the reason a lot of black areas like projects are so shitty looking and umkempt is because there's no pride of ownership since a lot of them are only renting and not owning, so there's no sense of keeping things nice since you're not going to have it forever. It's also why you see people splurging on things like new Nikes or game systems or cars, because it's something they actually have to their name. One example he used was a caller asking why project hallways, stairs, elevators, etc look so shitty, sometimes soaked in piss and garbage, and he talked about how an apartment can be so cheap that you just fill it up with stuff while you just leave anything beyond your door to rot because its noting you own.

It's going off topic, but I thought that was some interesting insight. Obviously its not exclusive to black people, generally you see a lot of the same thing in squalors everywhere.
>>
>>5624634
I guess that's why they never bother tying their fucking garbage bags up in shitty neighborhoods.
>>
>>5624520
>weeaboo shit
Fuck off
>>
>>5624634
>>5624634
That makes a lot of sense, but only to a degree.

I remember when I first moved out of my mom's house at 24. The only place I could afford was renting a small 2 bedroom house with my cousin in the ghetto (seriously, drug dealers everywhere, the guy next door got shot with a submachine gun one night at 3am, etc). We never bothered to plant flowers or make the outside of the house look nice because there was no point. The entire neighborhood looked like shit, the landlady didn't give a fuck, so neither did we. It wasn't OUR house. We did keep the inside of the house looking nice because neither of us wanted to live in garbage.

However, when I moved from that house to a more upscaled apartment complex on the "rich" side of town, I felt almost obligated to keep the outside of my patio looking nice. It was a completely different culture with a whole different set of expectations. You were sort of expected to keep your space (inside and out) looking nice because that was the thing to do. I didn't own that apartment or patio, but I and everyone else made sure it looked nice.

Now I'm in a house and I completely feel the need to make my house, inside and out, look awesome. It's sort of a pride thing at this point. I don't want to be "that guy" with the shitty yard. There's not really a culture of having a 10/10 yard around here though because it's really a middle/middle class neighborhood and a starter home, though. Still, because I OWN this house, I'm going to take care of it, and most of my neighbors (aside from the ones renting), feel the same way.
