I'd be getting PE hands/feet anyway. It's the lack of Scrounge that bothers me, since Scrounge probably isn't going to be sold seperately like the other Legends addon figures. Plus it's possible the Takara version is going to use that fucking terrible Blasoff mold on their version judging by that super chunky left arm shadow.

Takara looks like 3/5 of the molds are different.
Like, Hasbro Computron uses the Streetwise, Brawl and Skydive molds for Lightspeed, Nosecone and Strafe, but the silhouette of the Takara one looks like it replaces this three molds with the Breakdown, Rook and Blast Off ones.

Takara:

>New combiner head and weapons

>Toon-accurate deco
>Higher price point, and possibly a Takara-Tomy mall exclusive

Hasbro:
>Superion head and default accessories
>Dedicated hands and feet
>Air Raid Strafe
>Narrow drill Nosecone
>Streetwise Lightspeed
>Mix of toon and toy accuracy w/ extra design liberties
>Scrounge and his Targetmaster
>Lower price point, and it will qualify for free shipping on many sites.

oh shit it IS rook

This is hilarious; it seems as if Hasbro and Takara made their Computrons completely independently other than Afterburner and Scattershot being a Silverbolt retool. And I bet Scattershot will have more retooling on the chest so it doesn't look like Superion as much.
>>
>>5547348

If thats the case, then that Nosecone would turn into Drillhorn for Liokaiser, avoiding the double Brawl.
>>
>>5547254
Gonna just go with Hasbro, cheaper comes with a bonus two team members. Don't have to deal with a poopdown remold. I can't live with a future jet and not a shuttle it's not as bad as Blastoff's downgrade. Worst comes to worse maybe 3P will do upgrade parts.

Too bad no one made a Blastoff shutlte upgrade kit for the CW one. I thought replacing the jet kibble for shuttle kibble would be easy since it's on a screw/
>>
>>5547361
Well, they have these options open:

-Use Nosecone for both Drillhorn, and Killbison
-Retool Brawl to match Killbison more (mostly the arms)
-Make a new tank mold

If they just straight up reuse Brawls mold for Killbison, I'll be disappointed.
>>
>>5547371
Other than having dual turrets when the design allows you to swap out them anyway, what would need a new tank?
>>
>>5547371

This is a teachable moment.
On the internet, no matter what is being discussed, when someone says something incredibly stupid, there's no point in trying to correct, educate, or refute them.

Either they're saying something to try and goad you into responding, in which case you're giving in to the troll, or they really are that dumb, and have enough conviction to express it, in which case you're wasting your breath. Don't feed trolls. And don't argue with stupid people -- they'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

It's ALWAYS better to just ignore shitposters and move on.
>>
>>5547417

If only people realized this. Sadly, it's also just as pointless to bring this up because the BS will never end.

Ratbat also seems too big to fit into the case he comes with.
>>
>>5547503
It really isn't that crazy on the greebles. Metal Storms wings are greebly, and sonic drill is a bit greebly, but for the most part it's totally fine.
>>
>>5547506
Yes, but UW is about G1 accuracy, not IDW accuracy, sans Grand Prime and Grand Galvatronus.
>>
>>5547500
>UW has been all about G1 accuracy if you haven't noticed.
Not him, but giving all these G1 accurate things to figures that clearly aren't G1 is definitely coming off pretty weird. Why bother giving him 4 blades when the entire alt mode is different?
>>
>>5547506
Bruticus isn't even in IDW. At least not yet. And if he did show up, he'd have two blades to match the toy, not the other way around.
>>
>>5547226
So to get the best Computron, you'll have to get both, and:

-Use most of Hasbro's Scattershot except the combiner head, and plane backpack, then add those from the UW for the best colors.
-Use Dead End version of Lightspeed (UW is more accurate, but a worse mold)
-Either Strafe depending on preferences.
-Hasbro hand/feet parts
-UW Nosecone
-UW weapons
-Either Afterburner
>>
>>5547529
If he does show up, he might end up looking more like a combo of CW, and WFC Bruticus.
>>
>>5547529
And with Swindle dead (he'll come back definitely, but not for a bit of time for sure) abd Hasbro moving on to a new gimmick that isn't combining, I don't see Bruticus stomping into the comics in the near future.
>>
There was a pic posted on these threads not too long ago featuring CW Bruticus with angry looking eyes. I believe it originated in a Hong Kong Facebook post.

Anyone still have that, or how it can be achieved?
>>
>>5547498
I have it. I'm still buying UW Computron. The problem I have with Quantron is that the transformations on some of them are more complicated than they need to be and Afterburner and Nosecone don't even look that much like the characters in robot mode.
>>
>>5547546
On a related note, am I the only one that thinks Onslaught looks depressed? It's the way his eyes are sloped or something. Does UW Onslaught look any different in the face?
>>
>>5547550
Just curious.. but what figures are more complicated than need be? I really don't have any issues with any of them other than Nosecone being fiddly.
>>
>>5547573
Nosecone and Lightspeed. Nosecone especially is a fucking jigsaw puzzle of parts that are hard to get lined up. All for robot modes that aren't even that accurate to the characters. It's fucking unnecessary and it's overengineering like that that's making me lose interest in 3P figures.
>>
>>5547498
>more than twice the price of the UW, more than 3x the price of the CW
>looks absolutely nothing like the source, other than being a mess of red plastic

Don't get me wrong, some 3P stuff is amazing.

Anyone preordered MP Ratchet? I'm on the fence since my only MPs are Prowl and Soundwave ( + cassettes) and I'm not sure how well Ratchet would mesh with my Generations toys and it's pricey, but my shelf is missing a proper Ratchet. I'd rather get one that's closer to IDW design, though.

>>
>>5547846
Accuracy is the problem though. The Hasbro one is guaranteed to have the stupid lightbar on top and possibly no new head.

e.g. Even though Universe Hound is a better toy than Universe Ironhide I wouldn't want an Ironhide that's a repainted Hound just because Hound's mold is the better toy.

Scrounge is a literal who even in America, though.

So, the other Anon who in the other thread and this one (maybe? Didn't check) who had the stress marks in his CW helicopter limb-bots handfootgun ports, I checked mine on a whim.

Both Blades and Vortex both have stress marks. I have no idea if they'll eventually break or not, to be honest. I figure they would've broke already if they were going to break, but it's not like I'm an expert on how stress marks and shit work. Anyone else have stress marks on theirs? Is this a just-getting-noticed problem?
>>
>>5548146
Yeah, my Blades has developed a hairline crack in the port (along the molding seam). Makes me scared to try putting it in combined mode again.

My Alpha Bravo seems okay so far, though, but I think I've used Blades in combined mode more often and for longer periods of time.
>>
>>5548149

I don't think mine has cracked. If it has, I can't see it. But you could probably repair yours with some superglue, or maybe plastic glue if you have it.

I hope none of my combiners break. I love them so much.

I think they made a running change. I think it was something about the hands? or the handlebars?

It's been a few years.
>>
>>5548308
Yeah I believe it was the handlebars, but I haven't had any issues and I've transformed them many many many times.
>>
>>5548308
It's the handlebars. The nubs that lock them in place put too much stress on the plastic hinges when you move them.

You can easily fix these by slicing the nubs off with a blade.
>>
>>5548308
As for the hands, the problem is that the melee weapon's shaft is not an even 5mm. So placing them on the hands stresses the fingers. Just be mindful on which part of the shaft can be held properly.
>>
>>5547356
You can clearly see treads in the silhouette. I'm 90% sure the differences between their nosecones is just because of transformation. With takara's turret moved up on the double-hinge like it should be and their drill pegged onto either the hole or peg on top of the turret and pointing down.
>>
>>5547348
Those are just Brawl's feet, they're just flipped down to height-match breakdown/lightspeed who also have the feet folded down..

I assume you're looking for 5mm-compatible Mini-Cons, rather than the current RID variety (which you can amass pretty quickly if you bought ttwo or three a week).

Generations had Legends 2-packs two years ago, featuring Cyberverse Commander-size figures and cute Targetmaster partners; you may or may not still be able to find them on shelves.

The Deluxe range from Generations also brought us the Mini-Con Assault Team, a trio of Armada-style Minis that can plug into Powerlinx pegs as well as combine into pic related. Once again, shelf sightings may vary.

Otherwise, visit garage sales, flea markets, and toy conventions; you're bound to find Mini-Cons from 2013 all the way back to the Armada era for relatively cheap.

Hi, I recently got skylynx and noticed the damn failed ratchets, I thank the anon who directed me in the last thread on what to do to fix.

The fix however took half an hour because I stuck his head back on backwards and the confusion of getting his skyreign pelvis on in the right direction...I then realized how retarded I became half way through from the frustration.

Anyway the point of this post is, if you want to know what a good size for the gap filler between the ratchets (as in what you put behind them) use what would roughly be the size of a gunpla runner name plate (as in the letter bar that identifies each set of parts from a gundam model_, I lack the ability to measure as a standard ruler can't do shit, but I just cut it so it was in line with the ratchet part and so it can fit in between where it...just sits inside.

Which is good, if takara makes their own skyreign now I won't need to rush up for it unlike the other UW combiners.

Otherwise feel free to ignore me, just thought I'd share my own cheap ass way of knowing what to use behind the ratchets and by how much rather than fuck around with plaplate and cutting it for size and thickness

Much of the S1 decepticon baddies don't have figures yet. Then again it'll be amazing if they did. RID is pretty much a MOTW show, churning out a new decepticon every week or so.

It's kinda amazing because coming up with new transformer assets was the chokepoint for Beast Wars' and TF:Prime's animation process, which was why they had to minimize the cast sizes.

>coming up with new transformer assets was the chokepoint for Beast Wars' and TF:Prime's animation process
I've always loved the model "retooling" those shows had to do to introduce new characters, especially Prime.

Tigatron was an existing upcoming redeco that they brought into the cast later, but for Prime, Hasbro already released a unique Magnus mold. Budget constraints on the show side made them do the more obvious Optimus redeco/retool, and that is just endlessly amusing.
>>
>>5548783
No one knows how much retooling a UW Liokaiser is gonna get, but Victorion will definitely remain the same moldwise.
