As somebody who used to scalp in-bulk (consoles, figures, Amiibo, etc) I can say congrats: you stood in line for hours to make ~60 on each figure after fees and shipping + all of your time.

Don't forget to factor in the three evolved nendos as well. Admittedly, if you already have the D-arts then you probably wouldn't have much use for the nendo versions but as a guy who missed out on those originally, getting Red, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur for $100 is pretty decent. Of course, if you don't care for the Pokemon accessories at all then I can see your preference for the (once) cheaper original Red but the Champion version clearly has the Pokemon nendos as a part of the main appeal

I don't get what the point is getting this over the Red/Green set. I would think the Gen 1 design along with the rival is the one most people would want. The starters are a nice bonus, but in that case I'd rather splurge for the D-arts.Plus there's probably some other option available, even the old Hasbro toys. Having the rival is such a bigger draw to me.

This essentially. What with the 20th anniversary, it definitely feels like they are trying to cash in on the nostalgia factor by releasing classic Red and Green. I'm not really positive how many fans who haven't played the Gen 1 games are really fond of the Gen 1 designs or even Red and Green at all. It's sort of just an appeal to the older generation of fans. Also don't forget that with the redesign and Smash, Fire Red basically has his own established character with his own appeal

I don't know what the current situation is for buying her, but I preordered Cynthia as soon as she was first announced. It was kind of on a whim, I just wanted something, anything representing Cynthia and Garchomp in figure form. When I eventually got her I realised I have absolutely no love for Nendoroids or chibi shit in general.
I deeply regretted my purchase so I left her unopened for 6 months. I sold her on ebay last week for $100, I feel better since I made a little bit of profit. Somebody was willing to pay that much, so maybe she is in demand.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware of that! She actually has a nice design overall and she looks tougher than later redesigns. It's a pity they didn't make her in Nendo form, but I guess she's pretty obscure and they're following what's in the games and not the manga.
