January Challenges:
>Day after the New Years party. Make a diorama of your characters hungover as shit and shocked at the things they did the night before.
>Take a new 2016 set and build something ONLY using pieces from it.
>Benis (Best Entry: Ninjas in Swimwear)
>Freedom is great. Build a diorama of a villain escaping prison or guarded transport with/without the help of henchmen.
>A bar for your minifigs to drink at for the New Years party.
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
First for Lego Dimensions is not worth the MSRP they are asking for.

NEWS:
In addition there is a brick built pushchair (stroller) to accommodate the brand new baby fig - not the baby in papoose seen with the tribal woman but a figure that's roughly the height of minifig legs and one stud wide, with little arms and head. It looked very cute on the illustration :-)
>>5433596
>Finish that unfinished MOC from 2015!
>tfw the majority of my Lego is currently packed away until midMarch
Is it me or this Tooth-mixel looks...a little too rich with parts? I dont remember regular mixels being so fucking "thick" and having many parts.
This mixel looks like a fucking MAX already. Does that mean their Max will be even "thicker"?
>>5433615
they're usually 50-70 pieces, given that he has pretty minimal legs and arms, the part count is used on the body
and generally the ones on the lower end have either bigger or more unique pieces. sure that "tooth" piece is new, but its small and easy to produce, so its not that unique in the future. honestly the pick and the trans green are more "unique" for him than the other pieces
>>5433615
Mixels often has 60-70 parts. They are the cheapest Lego sets in term of price/piece
Oh, look what the courier finally decided to deliver to me at 5:30 in the afternoon?
Gonna build this tomorrow with the little sis.
>>5433310
I'm 18 and I have not stopped being into lego since I was 3. I am scared of my dark ages that will come out of nowhere. But hey for now I am happy making mocs in LDD and not being able to buy them :^)
Looking for a Valentine's gift for my girlfriend (20, casual Lego fan). We got the Valentine's Cupid Dog set and built it together, and she had a lot of fun and said that she wanted to build some more stuff together. I thought it'd be nice to get her a small set for Valentine's.
Should I go with the classic Lego Rose, or the Creator Park Animals 31044? The rose is more obviously Valentine's related, but she thought the park animals were adorable.
Also, if there's a better set to get her (quick description: she loves the shore, animals, and cute shit), what is it?
Pic related, a fucking duck
>>5433665
go with the creator
not to sound cheapskate, but creator sets get three builds for their price, thats three times you can build something together on days not valentines, and since shes a filthy casual, you can take it apart quickly with your separators or whatever
obviously if she likes animals too, and already said its cute then thats bonus
the obvious answer is "whynotbothmexicangirl.jpg" though
>>5433665
Go for Park Animals. The Rose is sweet and all, but the Kragle is a buzzkill. You can't truly have Valentine's Lego fun if you can't build ridiculous plastic abominations together.
>>5433665
i really LOVE this duck but fuck i dont want to get anything else from that set. i wish i could get a duck alone...
>tfw just barely noticed the 1×2-lengthwise-with-ball

>>5433665
Ladies LOVE ducks.
Trust me, I'm a Mallard.
What is this slutty body and where can I get it?
>>5433698
Looks to me like a knockoff/custom of Katarina, from League of Legends.
Decool has a League set. I think that might even be what's behind the character.
>>5433652
It's a pretty repetitive build but I enjoyed it. It was my first set I've picked up in over a decade.
>>5433599
This is why it's on sale pretty much fucking everywhere. Amazon has it for $30 off right now, and they had it even cheaper than that a couple weeks ago. Hell most places are selling the fun packs for over half off.
>>5433700
That's it.
Danks.
>>5433702
What's a better build then? I can't decide between that, the ecto-1 or the King's mech and another $30 thing.
Lads, what's a good way to get custom prints on a minifig?
What figs do you want but don't exist?
>Stan Lee
>Transblue Cyborg
>Judge Dredd
Though I get the last one, Stan already has a design from the games, I just want to see it in person.
>>5433710
When I said it was the first set I've picked up in a decade I meant it. I've only gotten a few Dimensions packs since I got it earlier this month. It's definitely not a bad set by any means, it can just get tiring making the same parts over and over again, namely the console panels and the police box walls.
>>5433722
Zuckuss and 4-LOM. They've never had a set, even though Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, and IG-88 have appeared in multiple sets each.
What's your dream theme, whether completely new or an update?
I want to see the classic Alpha Team characters brought into the modern Lego world.
>3-D print your head on a Lego mini figure
This is just fucking wrong and scary.
>>5433735
Yeah the only people who seem to like that are clickbait article writers.
>>5433722
The figs from Lego Rock Band.
I'd kill for a Queen set.
>There's some knockoffs of Iron man 3, including marks 1,4,16,21,35,39, war machine. iron patriot, and tony stark.
Sh-should I buy it?
>>5433732
A set that mainly are girls and they ride vehicles that are part animal, with some villians that have vehicles, drillers, and mechas. It's like a cross-over between girls theme and action/adventure.

Do you have plans of building a complete IM3 Hall of Armors? If so, go ahead. Having the collection up that way is always neat.
Otherwise, maybe just stick to the official armors Lego has been releasing. Honestly, there's a lot that they've made already.

>>5433722
This thing right here. The rest are lots of superhero figs from the games that don't have a real version yet.
>>5433778
The biggest problem with making a Hall of Armor is that you have to add a pod every time a new figure comes out, which means you have to constantly expand the base.
This is a MOC I designed quite a while ago, and I never decided to pull the trigger. It would look cool, but I'm kind of glad because now I don't have to worry about adjusting it to accommodate X new suits.
Iron Man suits look just fine in a display case. I ended up ordering parts for a different MOC earlier this month.
>>5433810
Why not just add some empty spots "just in case?"
>>5433817
It's easy enough, sure. It just means I have to adjust the angle of the rest of the pods and make the baseplate longer.
That right there is already like 1,100 pieces though, and this was before we knew about Gemini, Hammerhead, and the two Civil War suits. I just didn't want to fool with it.
>>5433810
I think having a Hall with 42 spots should be enough for the next few years' worth of official armors. Plenty of Tony's first 42 are just minor variants of the red-and-gold anyway, so it should be able to accommodate every new version with those colors, as well as the specialist suits like the Gemini.
>>5433820

>>5433860

>>5433870
Eh, probably two or three, so I can have a zombie-filled street.
Unless there's a big Police Station, obviously.
>>5433886
The bank already has a bit of games' Police station going on with it. I say that one.
>Waiting for BL invoice
Well, to be fair I won't be getting this or another order before next week. But I just want to pay it before I splooge the money elsewhere
>>5433810
This is my armory it separates into two sections and is beyond ready for any new iron man figs.
>>5433732
I would like see a Chima returns.
Inb4 pic is just a 5 min sketch to show you what i mean.
After the ice melted and the phoenix vanished, many areas of Chima are flooded with water.
Suddenly a dinosaur tribe flee from dictators from below, seeking refugee. They are hunt by aquatic pirates and slave traders (reuse of atlantis molds suid/shark/crab) as slaves for the dark (purple) chi mines .
What i want to see are a dinosaur tribe, riding on dinosaurs (jurassicworld molds/dinohunters), some beaver and crocodile molds to fight in the water. Aquatic pirates with the atlantis molds and them having crab walkers, maybe a ship that is a half crab, flying shark subs and squid vehicles.
The enemy race would be revealed later.
>>5433957
Looks expensive as fuck, but damn its sexy
>>5433959
I always imagined the aquatic races being super-advanced and high-tech, seeing as they lived and breathed the Chi-affected water that one merely needs to drink in order to evolve.
>>5433957
That looks really good. Do you have it built IRL yet?
>>5433774
Damn, if this were black, grey, and dusty tan it would be a perfect Mad Max set.

>>5434304

I hope that movie is good. At least the design of things will be like the Lego movie, in that everything is made of Lego. I think that's a big failing of the various TV series and things made from Lego properties.
>>5434312
It's mostly the mixel joint pieces and the parts for the upper legs that should be in white. And I guess all the blue should be dark turquoise but that's never gonna happen

>>5434288
>>5434294
Here's what I've been working with as basic inspiration.
Also, spot the build techniques & stuff from existing sets. Three to find!
>>5434318
I agree. When I first heard of ninjago series I hoped for "Bricks in nature" series as they are often pictured like that- In games, minimovies...
I hoped they will build/ rebuild sets to show kids how awesome is to rebuild stuff! ANd they could put instructions on their site.
Same with speedors- they barrely touched the customization aspect - in both sets and series. And I thought Speedors were amazing, because they were not only a game but also pieces that could be used with sets in normal play. (Not like Spinners). But back on topic- YES I hope is Lego The Movie: Ninjago. WIth new story and new world. It can be wacky and told by Finn. I dont care as long it will be good and filled with always funny Lego humor.
Question about Lego Dimensions. Are the minifig that you can buy regular minifig and are they exclusive ?
>>5434340
what
>>5434340
Regular. The base is the special part.
The only "Exclusives" are those that are rare or not released otherwise, like Venkman and McFly.
they are regular minifig, all the game data is on a little disc they stand on. some of them are exclusive, i believe Dr Who has a different print than in the big tardis set, but not all of them. I think the lego movie characters are all reprints, as is gandalf and I assume batman, but i'm actually not sure about the specific costune.
>>5434344
I know venkman has separate prints in the firehouse and ecto-1 sets, does anyone know if his dimensions mini is different too?
>>5434364
His dimensions version is the same as the ecto -1 version but it has the new arm prints.
>>5434366
I thought his Dimensions version had the new hair, too?
>>5434306
thanks
I thought the original chi is already electric. Ice chi was just the powers unleashed from the ice tribes.
Diamond could be interesting, like with every elemental chi you get different powers. Diamond chi makes you harder or stronger.
>>5434310
>Nexo movie
I think this is kinda a little bit too early.
Ninjago gets a movie because its legendary theme, the turtles hype/movies and kung fu panda movie might be a reason for the movie.
But Nexo just started so i assume there will be no Nexo movie inthe near future.
Lets wait how the theme developes.
>>5434333
The speedors and spinners were hard to re-use.
I found some making digital use of the speedorz front.
And i didnt like the both of them very much. It was too gimicky and too expensive.
>>5434009
I'm probably gonna pick up some more glorp corps from the new wave today get more joints, light green, and translucent booger color pieces for my tentacle monster.

>>5434570
Wait, what? It doesn't look like there's anything for the minifig hand piece to actually connect to.

Brickset has descriptions
70323 Jestro's Volcano Base - £99.99
This is the largest Nexo Knights set yet but is also one of the least interesting in my opinion. The base is quite substantial, occupying an area of about 40cm in width and depth but there is little detail and it suffers from the same issues as 70014 The Croc Swamp Hideout. Lots of space seems to be wasted and the colour scheme is blander than I anticipated, consisting predominantly of black with a little dark red and trans-red thrown in to represent lava.
Despite its dull appearance this set is packed with play features. There are trapdoors, spinning blades, spikes, falling rocks and a lava waterfall, all of which must be negotiated before you can confront Jestro at the top of the volcano. This kind of playset does not appeal to me but I am sure it will prove popular with children, although I cannot help but think that it would be even better if the colour scheme included a little more orange.
The minifigure selection is excellent. Jestro, the Book of Monsters, two Ash Attackers, a Scurrier and Lavaria are included along with the Book Keeper, a short-legged lava monster whose job it is to carry the Book of Monsters around! We see this character in several episodes of the Nexo Knights animated series so I welcome his inclusion here.

I'm definitely not happy with the roof as it currently is, but this was just a tempory job while I figure something out. Not even sure if I want a roof that can be removed temporarily or a "permanent" one. Mind taking a quick pic of what you mean by curved roof?

Because the interface is about as intuitive as a round peg in a square hole.
People are used to ebay and amazon levels of ease when it comes to online shopping, they're basically the standard. Bricklink is comparatively much harder to use.
>>5434851

>>5434897
Ok. Anon.

Paladum doubles the fun.
I didn't really want Rey's Speeder before, but after seeing this I kind of want one now. Has anyone modded the net on theirs?
>>5434909
Oh, the sets are out now?

76 degrees
From yesterday. I did it. I had to use a round 1x1 because for some reason a normal one wouldn't work, even if both side connected
Anon, I want to make a small Mars colony MOC. Question is, what color to use on the base? Dark orange seems the closest, but it's pretty rare and there aint no slopes other than 1x2x1 in that. Reddish brown seems too earthlike. Do I have to settle on dark red?
>Getting my taxes done soon

>Time to wait for all the pieces to be released in the right colors.
If by that you mean teal, then don't bother. Teal is discontinued.
>>5434955
>can't do taxes yet because I'm still waiting for two W2's
>>5434926
The sets? No, they're still not due until the start of next month. But the webpage (including instructions) was updated about a week ago:

Yes! 4-LOM. Can't really explain why, but he's by far my most wanted minifig.
>>5434573
Me too.
Usually I prefer to upgrade to newer minifigs.
But for Chewie, the older design has a certain classic charm, and has the additional plus of not looking like Homer Simpson wearing a gorilla suit.
I ordered my first mixel set. It's the red monster fire breathing little guy.
Are mixels as cute and fun as they seem in pictures?
>>5434956
Yes, sadly. Medium Azure would work great, though.
I would be satisfied if I could just replace all the grey parts with white. Unfortunately, the hip parts haven't been in production for 9 years so I'm fucked.
>>5434953
Reddish brown with some dark orange in the lower elevations and in any fresh tracks would look good.

Lemme see your god tier lego sets I'll start
>>5435037
I'll never manage to get a copy. It hurts me so much.
>>5435037
God tier means it has more than 700 pieces?
>>5435037
Do only retired sets count?
>>5435050
No, just that one lego set that made you go out and buy the instant you knew about it
>>5434625
>full of play features
>boring set
god it must be massive for that price and for them to not shove anything visually interesting in it
yay another lavaria and new bookkeeper. i might be turning slightly retarded though, but whats an ash attacker? scurriers are those fat short fucks, cant remember attacker at all
>>5435037
Not really god tier but i really love the Resistance trooper transport. Otherwise i'd say the non UCS version of the Tantive IV
>>5435008
Mixels are honestly the most fun cheap LEGO set ever made! Both in terms of the regular models' interactability and because the parts are just fantastic for making small creations out of.
>>5434909
>store still has wave two so theres sets with those joints in stock
>they used to be on clearance, and now they arnt
>every day i fight out the urge to go and buy out the mixels with those joints
>>5435053
Then it's the Republic Gunship, i only have the clone wars version tho
>>5435037
This.
>>5435066
I want that so bad but I dont have the space or the money
>>5435037
I'll probably instant buy the next UCS. It's the first time i have enough money to buy one of them, and the TIE Fighter or the X-Wing don't really appeal to me
>>5435074
Slave 1
>>5435037
This is my second one
>>5435079
I'm not a boba fett fag fanboy, sorry
>>5435037
>>5435082
regardless it's a cool ship.
>>5435085
Want
>>5435037
Probably this. Not only do I consider it the best modular, but it may be my favorite LEGO set ever.
>>5435085
Never Forget
>>5435037
The Vic Viper that comes with Alien Conquest 7066.
Mainly because of it being created to Honor the death of a well known Lego fan!
>>5435095
Can an anon please make this again with modern methods and no heresy please.
>>5433732
I want Blacktron III already. They hinted at it too hard in Space Police III and it never came.
>>5435095
>>5435097
Damn, i once used a sharpy on a clone trooper and i still bite my nails when i see hit in my stack of legos,. How can people do such attrocities
>>5435101
Heck I remember when this happened Nnenn is the main reason we have Novvember now
Remember the time when Muslims got upset at jabba's palace? That was fun.
>>5435124
If I recall , It was people SAYING muslims were getting offended when they didnt really give a fuck
>>5435101
I never knew about that.
That's amazing
>>5435124
wait what
Who's recently been to a Lego store? Will I still find any Lego Movie sets for sale if I stop at a Lego store tomorrow? I really dragged my feet, and now the website lists a few as sold out.
