Wouldn't it be logical to assume that Combiner/Titan specs are different tiers from the regular spec cards? Like an 8 in Combiner strength would still be stronger than an 8 on a regular bot. Simple way could be Stat x # of bots in the combiner, but things like Rank obviously wouldn't be counted for that. Also "personality" traits like Courage and Intelligence since those are more reliant on the bots forming the Combiner.

CW is a pretty good line, honestly. The gestalts are all at least B+ in terms of feel and quality. The only weak point is Menasor, and he's still pretty good overall, he just has more issues than the rest. Certainly better than buying a 3P figure for 3x the price.
Superion and Bruticus are the strongest of the lot in terms of looks and solidness so far. Onslaught fixed all the issues Hotspot had (crane in the way of his legs, the molding issue with the right leg's tab not locking securely). Skylynx/reign might be as good as Superion, or at least, i hope he is.

I agree. You haven't really gotten a chance to see the "human" (hurr durr) side of these characters for the majority of the franchise's lifespan, so getting to see these personal stories is really interesting.
Things like Last Stand of the Wreckers looking at Megatron's relationship with his men and questioning the Autobots' morality, Fort Max having to deal with PTSD, Rodimus's personal inadequacies...
Even RiD gets pretty excellent, since a lot of it has to do with the politics of a post-war society. It shows sides of characters you don't really see, and later, when they start fighting Galv, it changes up the dynamics of the old Autobot/Decepticon conflict in interesting ways.
It's easy to make just another story about Heroic Autobots fighting Evil Decepticons, but questioning what would actually happen when one of them won makes for much better science fiction.
That said, the influces of tumblr get a little obnoxious in MTMTE.

Both. The stealth bomber Megatron was made based on a design from IDW, Swerve got a toy based on IDW, and many others, while people like Scoop or Jhiaxus's Starscream cosplay were designed as toys first then shoehorned into the comics.

Hasbro has a brand manager/team for each of their properties. They decide the direction for their area. Designers will produce designs based on the line direction - sometimes they will use IDW designs or employ artists to provide designs.
