So I'm debating taking this museum set and turning it into some kind of Star Wars building. Replacing the diamond banners with Imperial insignia, maybe the clock too, and stationing two Stormtroopers outside the entry with another on the roof with a sniper rifle.

The real question: What do I put -inside-?
>>
>>5380300
Why not a lightsaber? It could be a Jedi temple captured by the Empire or First Order.
>>

>>

Hm... I like that idea. A lightsaber, a holocron... Maybe I'll make a custom Inquisitor to put inside, examining the artifacts...
>>

Yes! Be sure to keep us updated, this could turn out to be great. I'm still trying to hunt down a decent structure to act as a derelict building turned fortress.

Is there a reason the shadow troopers' faces are painted like that, instead of being metallic like the rest of the figures? It looks dumb.

Would there be an easy way to remove that paint without damaging the rest?

Because they lazily used the same paint set that they use for Stormtroopers in white, which includes white paint you don't normally see to function as a base for the other tones, I believe. Which means these Shadow Troopers end up having white blotched on them.

Hey there /LG/
Thought I'd show off my collection and whatnot, feel free to ask questions on the tour.

First off, we have the shitty brick road. A display for fun little events, and a daily reminder that I spent money on the sandman set.

Also hydra vehicles.

Behind it, you can see the Hogwarts express, the hulkbuster, sentinel, rino, and Aquaman's shit shack.

And slightly to the side is the dustcave.

This is shaping up well! I don't know how hard it'd be, but some sort of blast doors rather than the glass ones? Sliding ones perhaps.

>>
>>5380438
Rebels Stormtroopers, from the battle pack. You can't see them in that shot but inches to the left are another... *Counts* Nine of them.

>>5380443
Hm, blast doors might be tough. But you're right, the glass and the door aren't very Star Wars. Are there any real doors in Star Wars or are they all automatic? I can't remember ever seeing anyone open a door.
>>
>>5380445
>Who decides the challenges and winner of said challenges? Does the winner get anything and who decides said winner?

This month was a little weird. Normally everyone makes suggestions over the course of 2-3 threads and someone compiles them all, then they all get put in a poll and the top 4 get listed in the OP for the next month.

There's no prize except now you have a cool Lego thing.

If they're not mixed with other troopers, it doesn't really stand out. The design bothers me exactly zero, so I bought a couple battle packs to have a decent sized army. I'd like to get two more if I can so that I'll have a nice round 20 of them.

So, I went to the fleamarket a few days ago and got 4 baggies of assorted used pieces, almost 2 kilos of random lego for really cheap. (about 12-13$ usd for all). It went pretty well because almost everything was in decent shape, just a couple megablocks and minor things. Got plenty of bricks and plates. Sorting was really fun. It came with a few cool items such as minifig parts, some weapons and clear bricks. Don't you guys love when you get a cheap bulk?

I bought 4 small, clear, plastic storage bins of lego. Poked around in three of them. Lots of neat pieces, looked good, totally worth the $$ they were asking for it.

It comes with plenty of useful landscaping pieces, a handful of the good 2x2 jumper tile, as well as a few parts in the rather rare Medium Flesh color.

It's a decent set on its own, being a cozy little fully-enclosed minifig-scale home that is designed with modularity in mind. Fits in nicely with medieval collections, or with any of the outdoorsy City/Creator sets.

The head pieces are designed to be "in System" - meaning that their measurements work well with certain legal part connections.

im curious if anyone else does this, theres obviously no way im the only one

does anyone try to incorporate as many of the extra pieces into their sets as possible, and/or slightly change their sets to make them "look better" to you?
i just picked up some mixels, and a few polybags, and realized i did it for all 4 of them without thinking twice
my rule usually is that if a part isn't used, it goes in an extras bag, and that bag can be used on any set if i need it. usually its grabbing a few studs or 1x1's and using them as filler/hiding them so i can steal a plate to put somewhere else on the build

for the mixels its usually small and just using whats extra. Forx's combover changed directions, and i gave him a tongue in his bucket, and Kram moved all his red trans pieces to his knuckles on his hand
But i realized while building the cowler dragon, that it looked retarded without legs. so i had to make its body bigger to accommodate leg height, and just gave it eyes for shits and giggles (mixel eyes fix everything) Poe's ship polybag, i flipped parts on the engine and wings around backwards, and made the cockpit bigger, and with the extra, made a little stand so it can stay in attack position

i can see three other sets alone on my desk this happened with, and others i probably cant remember on my shelf

tl:dr how many of you go off of instructions while building sets, because you think you can make it better

Does the Nexo Knights Armor fit a Stormtrooper helmet?

>>5381516
I do it with basically every set. Mostly just to make Star Wars sets more screen-accurate but City cars also aren´t always 100% well thought out.
I also like to change pieces in the inner workings of each set. The UCS Slave One has so many wine-red pieces hidden, I just changed them all out with whatever I had the most of. A 1x2 brick becomes a 1x2 wine red plate with 4 1x1 studs in trans-red. It´s tme-consuming but you have much more and better pieces free to use then. The Modular detectives office uses 17 1x1 studs with holes, I changed them all out for normal ones.
>>
>>5381521
It´s in the customer service of lego.com. A few steps below the route for ordering missing pieces from new sets. Brick cost roughly the same as the average on Bricklink, sometimes more, sometimes less. Before christmas they had a bunch of licensed pieces available. People say the parts may disappear or change, it´s apparently very random what they sell and what not. Spider-Mans legs with boots for 2€, entire Hawkman figure without wings, the helmet of the UCS TIE Pilot but not the rest of any TIE Pilot body. Lego removed the option temporarily because the replacement parts program has too many claims after christmas. Some people say it´s back up in 10 days, others say mid February, they don´t have a fixed date.

I ordered licensed parts worth 70€ while it was still open. I hope they don´t restrict it too much with licensed parts when it comes back. Tydirium Shuttle Endor Rebel pants and the olive green torso for 73 cents each was my favorite find, got 13 pants and 7 jackets. Sadly no dark tan vests though. The helmet on the other hand was a rip-off, 2,71€ for a single one. I will just buy some old ones on Bricklink for under 1€ each and paint them dark green or something.

But even without licensed parts the service is quite useful. Theoratically every part of every unlicensed set is available. So if you only want the trans green armor of that 10€ Ultimate Nexo Knight you don´t have to pay 10€ for the full set but only 1€ or whatever the price will be.

Shipping is always 1,80€, the free shipping with 75$ doesn´t apply. You can make it apply by ordering something from the normal legoshop.com though like a Pick a Brick piece for 8 cents or a CMF.
There are also problems with checking out when you want to order more than 35 different lots of pieces, your whole basket may just disappear and you have to search for everything again. Alternatively you can phone customer service.

It might be a little tight fit, hair might have to be removed and it's pretty poor structurally (???), but it works, kinda.

Creator sets are boring a fuck, plus this version of Jestro is the only set it'll be in, Summer Jestro is black and red with a more evil look

this is exactly what I thought they'd look like

Does anyone agree with me that if you place as many bricks as possible with the Lego words all pointing the same direction that the build will be much stronger because of the power of universe and autism?
>>
>>5381652

I wish that was true/possible for most builds but sadly it isn't anon.

Actually, no, you're right. MSRP was $90, and there are still some for less. It's odd. Most of the minifigs were in, like, 4 other sets, but Gasgano and Sebulba were unique.
>>
>>5381317
>either way i'm done investing in lego

You bought how many of that set? How many other sets have you bought? If you bought up 10+ of that set for 40 and sell them for 75 that's still 350 bucks profit. Are you moving other sets?

Or..... did you just buy 1 set thinking it would be worth more than double it's value one day? Cause if so, the problem isn't lego, it's you.

If the show is any indication, Jestro's corruption is an ongoing thing. He was a reluctant villain in the beginning and as the story goes on he will be getting darker and darker.

My local department store is doing a Lego sale in just under two days and they're also launching the Boba Fett disney infinity figure on the same day.
PLUS I have a gift card for the store.

I haven't felt this excited since I was a kid.

Looks like they're still using the design from the bigger set. Maybe the film isn't out in Denmark yet.

On another note: I just finished my degree, and suddenly my university is offering a masters program that is apparently run by 'people who worked at Disney and Lego'

Should I throw away two years of my life in an effort to show my MOCs to vaguely important people?
