Got Shock in the mail yesterday and Warpath at Kmart $7.50.

Shock is awesome (even with a loose left leg) and I've already shave the other peg a bit which makes him even better.

Warpath wasnt a must, but I like him, the mold, and the sale price so why not?

They're great desk bots for work until I get the limbs for Cyclonus and use Shock as the gun.

Now for a legends Soundwave...

>>
>>5335815

I wouldn't call his reviews any better than anyone else. Annoying splash screen with guitar riffs and screaming? Holy fuck, my ears.

You want to be a good reviewer, all you need to do is three things:

1: Cover the articulation of the figure (which includes transformation)
2: Cover the colors/paint/accessories/minor bits

And finally, the hardest fucking part, the one thing almost every fucking reviewer fails at:

3: Don't be an autistic shit. No skits, no ads sucking cock for random sites, no screaming retardation, no voices. Review the fucking figure objectively, and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>5335831
Yeah didnt see that when I posted sorry bout that.
>>
>>5335832
His reviews are better than most though. He gets to the fucking point. None of that dragged on bullshit. Nobody should take more than 10 minutes for a deluxe. Most don't even need 10 minutes

>>5335824
Balts tf reviews are generally pretty quick. Why I started seeking his out if available. That and his visual quality is nice.
>>
>>5335832
Thew hits all 3 of those rules you set for yourself. His splash screen is an intro with the appropriate amount of screen time. Sorry you don't like rock.
>>
>>5335847

Not with his constant interrupts with meme-tastic text stylings. Thats filed under autism and fails, miserably.
>>
>>5335763
>Shock is awesome (even with a loose left leg)

I'm beginning to think this is a mold issue. Mine had somewhat loose legs, and other Anon's have said the same. I gave him the pledge treatment though and it fixed it with no troubles.
>>
>>5335856
You mean the split second of text? That bothers you that much? And youre calling him autistic?
>>
>>5335832
>2: Cover the colors/paint/accessories/minor bits

there have to be limits though- is it necessary to describe the colors in detail when I am looking at the damn thing? I have seen reviewers do this, why? They are showing it off, I don't need it described.

Same for accessories- show, don't tell.
>>
>>5335858
Yeah I'm not too worried. I've got the stuff I need to fix it, just haven't wanted to put him down yet. I can't really find much to complain about with him. I mean I'd like waist articulation, but that's just because I like articulation. He's still a great figure. I like having him next to my cyberverse prime shockwave.
>>
>>5335860

Why should there be a place in reviews for split second text interrupts? What does it add? It's not funny, thats for sure. It's not to highlight anything about a figure.

It doesn't belong.
>>
>>5335838
No worries, all good.
>>
>>5335864

He's really an amazing little figure. I love him so much so far. I'm constantly torn between having him in gun mode for my gestalts and having him in robot mode for posing though.
>>
>>5335861

Yeah, just pointing out the bits you can't immeadiately see, showing off the weapon and where it goes if it has some unusual tricks to it should be enough (like the various extra plug in options for the combiner's handfoot guns that some have, like Sunstreaker and his engine).
>>
>>5335865
You do realize his split second text screens are usually about the figure right? Mainly lightpiping. Are you even trying?

Both molds are super fun.

His "aircraft" mode reminds me of some motorcycle type sci-fi vehicle, but I can't remember what.
>>
>>5335879
And why does it need a split second interrupt and screaming and text?

Oh right, it doesn't. Just say it in the review. The review doesn't need a cut-in like it was a shitty anime.
>>

Both modes*
>>
>>5335883

It reminds me a lot of his FoC version, which I think is good. It's a nice bridge from the G1 lasergun mode. Hell, in most iterations it basically IS the G1 lasergun except minus a handle and plus wings.

America needs an Animecolor reissue of that Megatron mold

And even though Warpath is a remold, he looks better than the original "Miner" color Megs. And it's still a nice figure to use as Warpath
>>
>>5336484
>And even though Warpath is a remold, he looks better than the original "Miner" color Megs.
Miner Megs is a perfect example of a good mold being ruined by a shit deco. It wouldn't have been a bad toy at all if they had gotten the colors better. Instead they used that awful beige which is possibly the worst-looking plastic I've ever seen, and the paint on the forearms they tried to match colors with just ended up looking pink. It was a mess.
>>
>>5336494
As a figure the warpath version is just fine. As a warpath though it's a bummer. Misses the best feature anoiy the character. I've considered cutting the gun up and gluing it to his chest, but then no more tank mode.
>>
>>5336498
>It wouldn't have been a bad toy at all if they had gotten the colors better.
But the paint didn't affect the actual figure so it's the same figure as takara legends megs.

Yeah.
I configure my Battle Core Optimus (as well as my Menasor) with legs like this.
>>
>>5336509

It's not like I can change it, so I'm forced to accept it. He is what he is. The last Menasor I owned was the G1 one as a kid. And I only started my current collection a few months ago, so it's not like I have anything to compare this one to besides the figures I currently own, and my own memories of the generally unarticulated bricks that were G1 toys.

>>5336514

How do you do that? Is he stable like that in an action-ey pose, or will he just not do poses when configured like that?

>>
>>5336526
You're not getting what I'm saying. The paint didn't affect the figure at all. Still transforms, moves, and feel the same way.

Looks wise there is a difference in figures. Its still the same toy though.
>>
>>5336522
Basically, what I did was transform him normally, but instead of turning his legs into stilts, I turned his waist backwards, folded his thighs backwards, then the legs downwards.

That way, his lower legs becomes the thighs

He does look good from the front (it helps to have the crotchplate cover up), but not so good from the side.

Simple poses can work, but more actiony poses can be a bit tricky. You may have to come to a decision: would you rather have aesthetics, or posibility if you can't have both?

But if I do that he loses pretty much all leg movement and definitely loses all hip movement. I don't really want to sacrifice that. I have been considering the set though, but I don't think I'd use the head that it comes with. I like the sword extension a lot, and I'm waffling on the whole "giant plastic diaper and back brace" thing.

>>5336540

I usually prefer posing. He does look better the closer you keep his legs together though.

>>
>>5336549
It also helps he has actual feet.

Still, I get the feeling that Menasor is merely walking on stilts.
>>
>>5335963
Heh, I like that Optimus is roughly Generations Legends size compared to the CW combiner.
>>
>>5336549
It's the only downside to it but by that time you would have found a really cool pose to do with it.
>>
>>5336498

It IS a good figure.

I was considering clipping the cannon barrel and fitting something on to make a shorter barreled cannon.

You can pivot the cannon up to make it look like he's gripping it like a rifle.

Also, if you have the rifle that some of the Micromaster gestalts like Sixtrain / Sixliner, Megatron / Warpath can hold it between his hands in tank mode

If I have a cake, baked nicely and it's delicious and then dump salt all over it, it's still food. You could eat it. But it's ruined due to the salt. You could still eat it. But nobody would want to. See the analogy?

The paint on one of those figures is fucked up, so it ruins the figure. Not physically but appearance-wise. He never at one point meant that the toy is physically ruined by the paint and becomes a bad toy as a result, but that the paint makes it looks terrible, ruins the desire to own it because it looks bad. Nobody wants to own an ugly toys if it looks shitty, no matter how good the figure is.

The analogy of looks on a figure would be the taste of the cake. You don't NEED a toy to look good, if you absolutely needed to have a toy. To keep yourself entertained or whatever. Similar to how you wouldn't NEED a cake to taste good. If you were starving.
>>
>>5336659
Sucks, anon. Others are going to shit on you, but 60 bucks can be a lot to spend on plastic in these trying times.

Could always go for the KOs. I don't personally endorse them, but you get a pretty decent rendition of the toy for around 30 bucks, in most cases. May require a little DIY tweaking/fixing.

Depends. Salt is visible so some of the looks may be different. The point is "dumping salt on a cake is the same thing as a figures paint job" is a stupid analogy. Especially when they could've used the obvious choice of frosting colors. That one makes way more sense.

>>
>>5336696
But taste and visual are so different. If you soak a steak in maple syrup it's going to change so much about the steak just like dumping salt on something sweet will change the flavor.

The point is that the paint scheme didn't ruin the figure because it didn't change the figure. Salt would change the cake. I mean c'mon. Realise you made a stupid analogy and move on.
>>
>>5336703
Yet the first person said it ruined the figure. It didn't.

Y'all must be the same type of guys that think seeker figures are always different from each other.

Hey. Whatever makes you happier in your world.
>>
>>5336697
Frosting color is a stupid analogy because the color won't impact the flavor too much, which is what would ruin the cake. Nobody is going to complain about a purple and green cake as long as it taste good. Aesthetic in general doesn't matter with food, therfore the analogy for aesthetic on a toy applies to taste in food.

>>5336704
You're not good at grasping comparisons.

The paint on that mold didn't change it from one mold to another.

Two chocolate cakes. If you drop salt on the one on the left, and nothing on the right, they'd both be chocolate cakes. The only change would be the one on the left is ruined by the salt. They're both still cake, they're both still edible, the salt hasn't changed this.

Now the figures. Both the same figure, same parts, same mold. One matches due to plastic color choices, the other one doesn't match. The only change would be the one on the left is ruined by the mold color choices. They're both still figures, they're both still playable, the plastic color hasn't changed this. The mold color choices ruined one of these, FROM AN AESTHETIC STANDPOINT.

Now go be autstic somewhere else.

>>

The old head yes you have to unscrew it, the new head just pops on.
>>
>>5336724
But the cake isn't an aesthetic change. You are changing the flavor of it. The cake is the mold and the frosting is paint. The equivalent of dumping salt on a cake would be like adding pieces to the mold that affects articulation.

Again. You made a bad analogy. I get you want to argue this, but it doesn't work.

I didn't even think much of it when I got the figure since the only real reference I had was the illustration on the instructions, and that's hard to tell if it's red OR yellow.

Just one figure wouldn't be a problem, but hoping to get a fix from the company for something that's part of a gift set? I don't even know if it's possible!

Alternatively I could just man up and paint the visor myself. I've never painted anything before, though...

Kreo has the problem of the minifigs being too similar to Lego minifigs and it launched with Transformers that couldn't Transform so what was the point even? If they could make a minifig with a rudimentary transformation that had somewhat modular parts and sets that didn't blow, I'd buy them up. Seriously it could be as lame as a micromaster shell former but make it uniform enough that I can swap arms and legs and heads, even if that doesn't affect vehicle mode. Make them fit in with the other Transformers. The Kreo minifig guys can be their own characters and don't need to be Prime, Bee, Megatron, etc, because the Transformers name sells itself.

My Menasor's a bit overloaded with upgrades.

Perfect Effect hands and feet, and the Torso and sword upgrades, Nonnef's shoulder locks and hip ratchets (useless for Menasor after the PE torso upgrade but still good for Motormaster),
and Renderform's Eliminator Rifle

I won't say everything's perfect in paradise. Renderform's rifle is way too heavy and despite claims to the contrary, the PE hands REALLY don't hold it all that well. I typically have to find ways to support the rifle just to get it to hold it upright, but aside from that, I'm pretty happy with him as he is now. Just need some reprolabels.

I know the Decepticon logo (donated from CW Megatron) on Blackjack is offcenter, it's just not possible to center it with how Blackjack transforms (no cutting the decal doesn't work)

also screw you Offroad you suck as a limb.

>the Stunticons getting along and having fun
What kind of alternate universe is this?
>>

Well they did just fug up a race...surely they can all agree on fugging shit up yeah?
>>
>>5337219
It's actually just Motormaster forcing them to pretend having fun.
>>
Still not sure about getting Road Rage.

I need a decent shot of the red, from what I've seen its plain red plastic and not metallic.

Easier to handle in the long run but seems cheap, I'd be happier if it was glossy
>>
>>5337233
It looks like just shiny red plastic.

I've heard of the Silverbolt stress issue. Would cutting those little tabs running up the "spine" on the Combiner head fix the stress issue?

They don't seem to do anything, except stress the pin that connects the "spine" to the Combiner head.

Has anybody ever used tfmasterpiece.com for buying figures? They have a 3 month payment plan that I'm eyeing for MP Shockwave, but I don't want to get screwed.

Groove or not, The paintjob on the Hasbro version is way better for Defensor and Hot Spot.

Cloud Shockwave is on sale on HLJ for about $30 america dollars for anybody interested in him.

You guys think this mold is worth $45 CAD?

The same can be said about almost all united warriors paintjobs, just the aerialbots have more paint details. Groove is a nice figure, just not enough to get the set again if you already have the american release.

>The problem I have is that in bot mode you can't tell it's a police bike.

Just like how you can't tell Prowl is a car in bot mode, yes?
>>
>>5337391
You can tell Prowl is police themed. Dense?
>>

Wait. Its just literally a purple whirl? They couldn't at least have given him a shockwave hand extension in place of one of the others?
