Minotaurs Edition
Trailer Park BoysSub-Edition
In the last bread we talked about special units for the legions we haven't seen yet and podcasts and finished the questions on why some of the Primarchs look too old, we discussed the lifespans of marines, the Minotaurs, and ways to improve 40k chapter relations, Mortarion's status as the jobber of the Primarchs was mentioned, and get ready for them and much more in the last thread >>48264768

I'm guessing this is a reaction from HH6 making damn near everything a troops choice so they have to buff the actual troops.
>tactical blobs
tacs are cheaper too you know
Breachers confirmed for garbo tier junklords?
I don't know if I want to be drip-fed one page at a time and get hyped alongside /hhg/ or if I want an epub uploaded so I can ejaculate all over it at once.
Either way, I am excited.

For melee legions? Yes.

disgusting tbqh

BA and NL do assault squads better though
WE just got triple trashed
>>48281305
What did you field as troops?
>>48281323
Vets
>>48281305
But I like having fluffy IW lists with tac blobs.
If breachers are cheaper now, that might not be the case anymore.

Do you even EC
>>48281329
How did your units survive past turn 3? Also vets suck most melee legions have better units anyway.
Hi /hhg/, anyone know where/what the rules are for allying 30k into 40k games?
My plan is to use Solar Auxilia rules to add some power-axe Scions to my 40k stormtroopers.
>>48281350
>Not infiltrating 40 tacticals
how?
>>48281355
I've never actually played, I just assemble and bring them to my GW shop but no one ever wants to play. So I win by default.

Fulgrim
>Choose warlord trait to infiltrate 3 units

>>48281357
You dont, they are two different 'systems' that use the same rulebook. You can fight 30k vs 40k but not mix the armies.
Assault Squad
* -75 points.
Breachers
* -25 points.
Tactical Support Squad
* can take additional combat blades for 2 points.
Legion Reconnaissance Squad
* -25 points.
Dreadnought Drop Pod
* +35 points.
Seeker Squad
* -20 points.
Anvillus Pattern Dreadclaw Drop Pod
* +15 points.
* has Inertial Guidance System listed in box-out, but not under special rules column. ??
* can transport Legion Dreadnought, Legion Mortis Dreadnought, Contemptor Dreadnought, Contemptor-Mortis Dreadnought or Contemptor-Cortus Dreadnought.
Landspeeder Squadron
* -10 points.
* can take 2 HKMs for 5 points each like the Javelin.
Javelin Attack Speeder Squadron
* -20 points.
* has Strafing Run special rule.
* has "Grav Backwash" special rule. Means enemies have a -2 to hit it in Assault unless it is Immobilised.
>>48281483
Primus Medicae
* +10 points.
* can't take power fist, chainfist, boarding shield or paired lightning claws.
Chaplain
* causes Fear.
Command Squad
* -25 points.
Veteran Squad
* -25 points.
* additional models -3 points.
* any model can swap bolter for combi-weapon for +10 points.
* Veteran Tactics are very different!
- Resolve Stubborn
- Weaponmasters +1 Weapon Skill
- Machine Killers +1 on armour penetration rolls
- Marksmen Outflank AND Sniper
- Xenobane re-roll To Wound against Monstrous & Gargantuan Creatures.
>>48281483

>>48281483
>Breachers
>* -25 points.
kek then breachers are still ass
MY INSIGHTFUL PREDICTION : THE NEW CALTH BOX WILL HAVE ASSAULT MARINES, IT WONT HAVE BREACHERS, THEY ARE TRYING TO PUSH ASSAULT MARINE KITS.
>>48281499
Have they gotten rid of the old veteran tactics?
This will seriously fuck over some lists
>>48281527
They did yes
>>48281499
>any model can swap bolter for combi-weapon for +10 points.
What's the point of seekers anymore?
>>48281499
>- Marksmen Outflank AND Sniper
and they just made sniper vets even more of a no brainer...
guess my current outflanking WE vets are sniper vets now
>>48281536
That's shit, furious charge vets with power weapons were tasty
>>48281508
So happy about the javelin buff. They were good before now they're amazing. Assault defence and cheaper cost gad damn!
>>48281483
>Dreadclaw with IGS
What the FUCK, it's got no downsides now. Ojectively superior mode of transport for small assault units.
I'm reading the red books, and it mentions super fast implantation of geneseeds and makin marines in as little as 2 years. Does that mean we could have 13 year old marines out there slaughtering shit if they hit the genetic lottery?
>>48281580
FW gotta sell those Dreadclaw kits.
>>48281567
Javelins don't get the recognition they deserve.
Cheap, deep striking, skimmer lascannon platforms with the option for two HK missiles? Yep, I'll take 10 please
>>48281651
I've got 6 for my bangels. Lascannon, assault cannon, hunter-killer platform just got 25 points cheaper
>>48281560
Hitting on 3+ and wounding on 4+ is the same as hitting on 4+ and wounding on 3+, but +1WS doesn't depend on charging and lasts longer than the first turn.
>>48281603
Can praetors still take both a paragon blade and a power fist at once in artificer armour?
>>48281603
I dont think so, their bodies would still need to grow into adulthood. Becoming a marine doesnt instantly make your body into a 25 year old superman, it takes puberty and growth so the end result of that is a superman.
It just means you can take any 18-30 yr old and turn them into marines in 2 years.
>>48281603
in that raven guard book their new fancy marines were all like 12 years old and were kicking the shit out of everybody else
>>48281603
Definitely. Which would explain degradation in gene seed quality, which explains flaws. Not even within the legion, but because you cut the nuts off a kid who wants to bust a nut
>world eaters
>night lords
>>48281674
True, that never crossed my mind when I first saw FC was gone
>>48281483
>Tactical Support Squad
>* can take additional combat blades for 2 points.
but why
Predator Strike Armour Squadron
* Executioner plasma destroyer is +20 points on old price.
* heavy conversion beamer is -5 points.
* if you take 3, one of them can be a Squadron Command Tank for +35 points:
- if unit is in coherency, all ignore Crew Shaken on a 4+.
- if they all shoot at a single target within 24", they gain Tank Hunter and Monster Hunter.
Land Raider Battle Squadron
* Phobos is -25 points.
* Proteus is -20 points.
* Achilles has frag & shatter shells, and can purchase the other new types (including phosphex if Siege Breaker is present).
* Proteus can take a hull-mounted twin-linked lascannon!
* if you take 3, one of them can be a Squadron Command Tank (see Predator notes).
Achilles-Alpha Land Raider
* has frag & shatter shells, and can purchase the other new types (including phosphex if Siege Breaker is present).
Legion Artillery Tank Squadron
* still 0-1
* if you take 3, one of them can be a Squadron Command Tank (see Predator notes).
Vindicator Siege Tank Squadron
* if you take 3, one of them can be a Squadron Command Tank (see Predator notes).
Spartan Assault Tank
* +10 points.
* flare shield +20 points over old cost.
Sicaran Battle Tank
* +30 points.
Kharybdis Assault Claw
* -30 points.
Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought
* new weapon! May swap autocannons for a single Arachnus pattern heavy lascannon battery for +50 points. 48" range, AP2, Heavy 2, Exoshock (if you score a Penetrating hit, on a 4+ you score another Penetrating hit with no cover save).
Alright dingdongs I'm back again. Unfortunately nothing on my PC can open the file. Going to try Google Books--the only method I have ever found to open a BL epub.

- exactly like we theorised. All have multi-meltas and all can swap for plasma cannons/Volkite culverins.

>>48281970
Thanks! Do you also have the Age of Darkness Legions epub?
/hhg/, help me out for a sec. I'm pretty much decided on building a Blood Angels force, and I have 2 boxes of Betrayal on Calth to do that. What do you recommend that I build out of that, and what do I get afterwards to supplement it?
The only thing I'm certain on is having a Chaplain, because I'm pretty certain that there will be a Warden Consul option
>>48281695
I assume they pump you full of human growth hormone and other ways to accelerate puberty. I wonder if all the geneseed flaws in 40k would have been much milder without these accelerations.
>>48282047
Since legionaries were massed produce and the Chaos Gitz used the flaws in this process to taint marines, things became more strict.
>>48282046
Well, assault marines are decent starting today.
>>48281970
BA dual hand flamer moritats have been gotten rid of, chain fire rules have had another sentence added to them saying that weapons which don't roll to hit can't use chain fire.
>>48282088
It was most likely fun for every while it lasted.
>>48282072
I know they aren't using the techniques in M41, but a lot of marines in that millennium are probably based on geneseed that goes back to the Age of Darkness when quality control was reduced.

Let's talk about Libbies. What sort of powers do you think the Moon Wolves had? I all I can think of is a Libby makes an Eye of Horus poof up, and anyone caught within it's gaze is frozen as the Eye judges them and their fetishes. The other idea is the Librarian makes a small moon made out of psychic energy and smashes it into something.
I like World Eaters, are they decent?

Haven't played a game since April, wondering how my usual list would fare with the recent FAQs and state of the game. Lower Pound means can make a FW purchase again soon too.

Apothecary goes in each Legion Tactical Squad, and Zardu joins one. Zardu sits back and summons Tzeentch Horrors or supports the Gal Vorbak, Chaplain is psychic support too. The Chaplain joins the Gal Vorbak in the Spartan to create a hard-hitting unit. Ashen Circle will target backfield units or blobs, and potentially tank-hunt. Sicaran will serve as a tank hunter, as well as emergency AA; my Meta doesn't run any flyers at the moment. Medusa will target Deathstars and potentially tanks while the sole Quad Mortar will go for primarily stationary units.

As a non-native English speaker there may be some subtle grammatical rule I've missed out on, but without a comma to split up that sentence it really seems to be able to be interpreted both ways.
>>48283517
It's bolter and augury scanner, there's been rulings made before regarding things like this.
>>48283512
>wasting points on drop pods
>>48283512
You infiltrate the terror squads and drop pod anything else like a 10 man meltagun squad.
>>48281970
Looks like they changed Armoured Breakthrough so that you don't even need to take a Master of the Legion - your tank commander automatically has it. He also doesn't have to be the warlord, so you can take someone else (like Castrmen Orth) as the warlord if you want, but you only get the +1 BS for him if he is the warlord as it's the automatic warlord trait for the Master of Armour.
Funky. I like it. Definitely makes it a lot easier to build a list out of it without taking a primarch. With the Sicaran Battle Tank point cost increase it doesn't even seem that cheesy anymore.
>>48283549

>>48283604
>Wasting shots on the 35 point transports
>Not shooting the terror squads staring at you
>>48283513
Made a mock-up with an already built calthinator. Doesn't look too small to me. Would just have to glue the shields onto the back of power fists and give them right handed power axes instead of combi bolters
>>48283670
>what are blasts
>>48283538
And do you have a link to those rulings?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'd just like to have something definite to to remove the ambiguity.
Now that Tactical Support Squads can take additional CCWs I'd like to give their Sergeant a Power Fist, and if he also gets an Augury Scanner I have an idea for a cool model for him, which is why I'd like to have proof one way or another before I glue anything together.
>>48283688
those actually fit nicely
>>48283690

Pretty risky imo
How do you paint the Eye of Horus on SoH units?I love their extra attacks and +1bs at 18" rules, but I can't see myself playing them. Eh.

>>48283806
Use to have some Tartaros terminators with those shields. Although I had the shields on the "wrong" side for the power fists.
>>48283851
Oh, no that's now what I meant more like how on the upgrade chests and their reaver squads and other things where the Eye is one of their 3d details, I'd want to know how to paint it. I'm pretty sure they're older than the citadel gem paints, so I was wondering.
Also, why do the SoH have so much variation in their shoulder pads? All of the different armor marks have different ones, and they even have 2 for mk4?
>>48283872
Thanks, anon.
>>48283904
Damn that looks badass. Yeah Power Fists would be better but I've got a bunch of unused power axes so I might as well use them. Tartaros is so sexy though...
>>48283900
thats literally $1000 in assault marines
All Dreadnoughts get Extra Armour for 5pts instead of 10pts.
Boxnoughts get HK Missiles for 5pts instead of 10pts.
Eggnoughts can now take TL Culverin for 15 instead of non-TL Culverin for 10.
That's it for 'noughts. Amazing buffs, definitely top tier units now.
>>48283900
what if they have more than three or four tanks
might want to get some melta bombs in there just to be on the safe side
>>48284019
was the buff to their number of attacks not new? I guess I must have missed that part of the FAQ. everything is base 3 attacks, 4 attacks if they have two CCWs. still less than what 40k dreaddies have, but not bad.
sadly fury of the ancients RoW is still garbage and gives a free VP for every dreadnought destroyed.
>>48284052
Yeah, that was part of the FAQ. Now that I look at it, the TL Culverin option was in the FAQ aswell, so only cheaper EA and HKM.
>>48284012
thats actually cheaper than i thought it would be
Tactical Support Rotor Cannons are now FREE!!!
... But Volkite Chargers are also free now, so Rotor Cannons are still a questionable choice.
>>48284152
>But Volkite Chargers are also free now
Somewhat takes the cool factor away from some of the other legions that had special units they could take as troops with chargers. Oh well, they're still not compulsory.
What epub reader do you guys use on android? its fucking up for me on like 6 ive down loaded
Rhinos also get HKM and EA for 5pts instead of 10, so it's probably a faction-wide discount.
More importantly, Rhinos can now take a Multi-Melta for 15pts (and less importantly, Combi-Weapon is 5pts instead of 10).
i think that even with the points drop land raiders are still shitty, and all the points increase to spartan did is make kharybdis the obvious default choice.
im sure its just a coincidence that the kharydbis costs the most actual money than the other options..
>>48284243
Sicaran Battle Tanks can take pintle-mounted weapons now as well. Did they release a new upgrade pack for vehicle pintle mounted weapons or something? The changes seem really uniform to be able to put them on damn near everything now.
Pintle MMs on SBTs might not be a bad idea, honestly. Fast only lets you shoot two guns at full BS, not three, so it's cheaper than buying two lascannons that you can't fire unless you sit still. It's also cheaper and now that they're 30 points more expensive keeping them cheap seems important.
You can buy a hull-mounted twin-linked lascannon for the LR Proteus now - that has to be new, right? With the cheaper points cost that's a pretty sick way to make a triple TL LC LR.

I could go for 2kpts by changing the Delegatus for a Sicaran but Im not sure, otherwise thats the project of which Im halfway done and only need one more Predator and 2 more Rhinos.
Here's a list of a bunch of stuff that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet
Primaris-Lightning:
Sunfury missiles from 15 to 25
Kraken missiles from 25 to 35
Electromagnetic storm charges from 20 to 10
Tarantulas from 30 per gun to 35
Forward deployment now costs 5ppm
Malcador in Heavy Support, from 300 to 275
Squadron of 1-3
Always Space Marine Crew
A lot of rejiggering on the weapons and points, can't be arsed to write everything out
When rolling on the Thunderblitz and/or Catastrophic Damage tables for the Malcador, roll 2D6 and select the lower result.
Optional Thallax and Castellax still in, now also Vorax
Orbital Assault allows Dreadnoughts to take Dreadclaws/Drop Pods while still being Talons, and they have to try to land within unit coherency but then act independently
Angel's Wrath gives Strafing Run to Storm Eagles and Fire Raptors
Losing all Veterans/Terminators in PotL now gives up 2 VPs
New RoWs from book 6 are in, including Legion-specific ones (not expecting any changes, can't be arsed to check)
Laser Destroyer is still 36", not 48" like in the Solar Auxilia book
The advertisements on the last pages try to sell you the old Legiones Astartes red book, as well as the new Legiones Astartes red book (which you're currently reading). Now that's some quality.
For anyone that may have missed it: Marines, just like Auxilia, can have a Knight or two as their LoW.
>>48284871
cerastus too?
>>48284892
Any Knight from the questoris list, they lose the questoris ranks.
Would a list comprised of fortifications and artillery/immobile heavy weaponry be viable?
>>48284907
I'm looking at the rule right now, where are you getting the 'lose their ranks' part from?
>>48284854
>Angel's Wrath gives Strafing Run to Storm Eagles and Fire Raptors
Wait, Fire Raptors had strafing run already, though? Did they lose it?
oh hey, servo automata can take missile launchers with rad missiles now, and rotor cannons are only 5 points each.
>>48284963
I think he just means that you don't take them as you would in a questoris knights list where they occupy FOC slots for added cost and special rules. You can take any knight that would be allowed in that list, but they're just a normal LoW with no additional rules.
>>48284910
Probably. Sounds pretty fluffy for IW.
>>48285006
Nope, Fire Raptors still have Strafing Run. Quality FW rules writing.
Similarly, Terminators can now take a Deathclaw as a dedicated transport. I wonder if Karl Franz comes with it?
>new book either nerfs or makes my units less desirable
>Have the LE preordered
>>48285027
Oh yeah, you're right. From the Questoris Knight rules:
>Note: The Household Rank special rule is only in effect when using a force selected from the Questoris Knight Crusade Army Force Organisation chart as your core detachment or as an Age of Darkness allied detachment only. It should not be used in conjunction with other detachment types or Unbound armies.
>>48285029
I wanted to buy a Castellum strong hold and maybe an aquilla strongpoint to field with an Iron Warriors list.
>>48285130

What other Fortifications are there again?
>>48285078
>new book either majorly buffs or doesn't touch every single unit I have and plan on buying
>pirate every single 30k book to date
>>48285188

>>48285101
poor knight anon. thought he needed all those knights because the allies required 2+. now you can take just 1.
>>48285166
I think you can take one in the regular force org in the age of darkness.
>>48285166
Any of the ones from 40k. Also the Primus Redoubt from FW.
>>48285259
To be fair the Questoris Knights list is still amazing, and a Seneschal Lancer is a motherfucker. Taking them as your primary with just the three Cerastus Knights with an allied detachment of Solar Auxlia for scoring is a legit as fuck list.
>>48285166
The Aquila Strongpoint is now a Lord of War choice so you can have one of those and then another fortification in an Age of Darkness FoC, like that plus a Vengeance battery for example.
scorpius is super good now, does like 5.9 wounds on MEQS and TEQs. why am I taking headhunters again?
>>48285259
Feels good to have the option to get a Knight, at 2kpts I can just remove one Veteran squad from my list and add a single knight! This update feels fucking good!.
>tfw Breachers end up costing more than before when you take them in blobs.
Why though? Just, why?
Cool that Assault Marines got buffed, I guess, and tacticals really are taxticals now. Veterans and Seeker Squads got super buffed, which is cool.
And I still can't really decide my legion. At first it was Word Bearers, but then I just didn't feel like them, then it was SoH, but then I realized I couldn't find anything I really like about them other than their color scheme and LA rules, and now it's IW, though other than fluff and unique units, I can't find much else to like.
>>48285422
What armies do you like? What army do you in 40k if you do play 40k? What tactics do you like?
>>48285446
>What armies do you like?
I dunno mate, not sure yet.
>What army do you in 40k if you play 40k?
I was thinking about starting Imperial Guard, though I'm more interested in 30k once I found out about it.
>What tactics do you like?
I'm not really sure. Tanks sound like fun, but so do Veterans and Artillery. Infantry always sounds like a good idea, though I don't really care for assault marines though.
>>48285446
>>48285496
Oh, and melee sounds like fun, though I feel that I'd be probably be better off with a shooty army. I love the idea of running a fluffy army as well.

>>48285310
true. I love the questoris knight rules. arbalesters make me so aroused.
Wait, if Chainaxes give +1 S now, wouldn't that mean Blackshield Marauders are better now, since they come stock with them?
>>48281560
It's not the same thing when my Death Guard got +1S for Power Axes and +1S for Furious Charge for S6 total, plus Rad Grenades meaning they got AP2 S6 vs T3 2+-to-wound Instant Death.
They used to be my go-to for unexpectedly fucking up legion elite units (even if they themselves got fucked up in the process). Now they have to be reworked entirely (and since Deathshroud got Reaping Blow, I might as well use them as elite-counters and just use the veterans for something else altogether - or more likely, not bother at all.)
>>48285636
yeah it means with the +1S+1T chimera they go to s6.
also helps out SoH reavers
>>48285518
good job not really answering, so you like a tank heavy infantry heavy, shooty melee army. geez, make up your mind.
>>48285650
The weirdest thing about the changes to Veteran Tactics is that the most common choice - Sniper - actually got better (they now also have outflank for free) while everything else got worse.
Truly have we entered the Age of Darkness.
>>48285678
+1 ws is better than furious charge, but yeah +1 to pen instead of tankhunter and stubborn instead of fearless is pretty shit

Alpharius: I would like to congratulate each and every one of you, you are the very best seekers our legion has. In order to allow you to more effectively execute your role on the battlefield we are replacing your existing ammunition with the most effective ammunition available, banestrike ammunition. Banestrike ammunition can sometimes penetrate power armour if you are lucky.
Other Alpharius: But Alpharius our scorpius rounds can already penetrate terminator armour with ease.
Alpharius: Nah, banestrike is better.
Other Alpharius: How?
Alpharius: Great question. As for the new formation's name, I am thinking of the name Headhunters. What do you guys think?
heres the math on a WE ass salt squad with apothecary. assuming berzerker assault

Wait, I just realized it's cheaper to buy Despoiler Squads rather than the bare bones armor Mk plus accessories. Especially since Despoiler Squads also come with accessories, rather than juse the Chainsword and Bolt Pistol. FW, plz.

>>48286279
I'm all seriousness though, I really think everyone is being a bit over dramatic about Breachers. 25 points extra in Horus Heresy isn't that much, just remove a couple of AA Sgts everyone loves to pour points into. I mean shit this isn't 40k where we strive for autistic net listing efficiency. If the WE and BA were running assaults Marines without commuting suicide, I think the IF players will be fine (because who else ran Breachers).
Also what's a max tactical squad up to now?
>>48286305
I'll be pissed if you don't paint them as the Emperor's Shadows.
>>48286340
225 points.
Even cheaper.
>>48286340
>Also what's a max tactical squad up to now?
225 points for 20
ass salt is 305 for 20
breachers are 350 for 20 and were bad even before they got 'nerfed'
vets are 260
no idea why FW hates breachers so much, they couldve cost them the same as assault marines. honestly things would probably have been more balanced if breachers were 305 for 20 and assault marines were 350 for 20.
>>48286368
>vets are 260
meant 160. yes, 10 outflanking sniper vets is only 160 points. FW has lost its mind. they mustve gotten sick of people buying like 60 bucks worth of BaC boxes marines and having like 600 points.
>>48286368
>>48286382
>Vets 160
Every day, I think to myself that I can build a better list than Pride.
Now I believe that 5 maxed out Vet Squads with 2 Shrapnel bolters each in a Pride List is probably for the best.
>>48286368
I like that EC now have a reason to field vets.
>Vets are for killing mooks being slightly cheaper when both have power weapons
>Palatines can be more mobile and can be used for killing elites (Phoenix Spears and sonic shriekers to become pseudo WS 6)
So comparing the two units
>10 vets with power swords: 260 Points
>Inflict 13.333 wounds on WS 4, 3+ marines on the charge (striking first)
>10 Palatines with Phoenix Spears and Sonic Shriekers: 355 Points
>Inflict 6.666 wounds on WS 5, 2+/4++ marines on the charge (striking first)
>>48286368
>as much as assault Marines.
I think that's going too low, they have a ++ and hardened armor (IIRC). I'd say 20 above assault marines is pretty fair.
160 for 10 vets is stupid. Plain and utter stupidity. That's just Eldar Codex tier stupid. Did someone from GW break into FW?
>>48286343
>Emperor's Children hastily recruited from Not Nippon planet after a bloody campaign

>Obsessed with swords most of the entire millennial has power swords or charnabal sabres, but spears, axes, hammers, and maces are virtually unknown within the millennial
>Defect back to the loyalists following the betrayal of their legion
>Eventually cornered by some poorly trained traitor Imperial Army conscripts
>Proceed to charge headlong into the Imperial Army forces
>Are gunned down almost without effort
>>48286439
>I think that's going too low, they have a ++ and hardened armor (IIRC).
yeah but its only a 6++ against shooting. its a 5++ in CC and counts as defensive grenades, which is good.
also assault marines can take combat shields, which give a 6++ against shooting 5++ against CC, without the defensive grenades... and heres the kick in the balls, they cost 3 points each.
so for 365 points you could essentially have a fucking jump pack breacher unit (with more attacks)
At this point are we just throwing the Imperial Fists RoW into the garbage never to be spoken about again?

>>48286586
>>Chain Axes are +1 Str
I thought it was a new meme or something. Do you guys realize WE now, with their LA rerolling ones to wound, actually punch stronger than a Heavy Bolter?
And with a higher attack rate, given their 100 attacks per assault phase.
>>48283797
SoH Transfers or the resin shoulder pad kit.
So does this mean if we want a balanced game we...we...go back to 40k?
>>48286600
>at least they nerfed tanks
Didn't heavy conversion beamer predators get cheaper? Seriously why does everyone hate on predators, get a heavy conversion beamer for 110 points, get 3 for the price of a mid cost dedicated assault unit and obliterate death stars effortlessly from across the table. I never got the argument that Sicarans were OP. Even looking at the old costs, Predators cost 18.75 points for autocannon shot, Sicarans cost 22.5 per autocannon shot. Sure they are better armoured and their guns were more lethal but they have far fewer options and cannot be squadroned.
Also I think kraken missiles are more expensive which I like mostly so I don't feel like I am wasting potential by taking an autocannon lightning.

>>48286641
>tfw everyone thinks I mean on the shoulders.
I mean the ones on the chests and other details involving the eye.
>>48286645
Nah, 30k is still more balanced.
>>48286628
feels good to finally be the premiere melee legion again... its been a while.
not that internet bragging rights about raw damage numbers mean anything once the thudd guns start dumping phosphex everywhere
>>48286651
Because any semi competent player can get within range of the Conversion beamer where it becomes useless.
>>48286645
Go look at the Wraith Knight and Nemesis Dreadknight and look at their price and rules.
Then you'll remember why you're here.
So are Quad Launcher Frag Shells supposed to also have Pinning or is Shell Shock a typo?
>>48286663
And not only Thudd guns, now that phosphex-anon got his dream of phosphex Achilles, right? I really want to read about his reaction
>>48286695
kek i was phosphex anon
i wanted it for my 6 WE plasma support squad.
>implying im not packing some phosphex just to give my retard hordes something to run into
>>48286666
You could easily field multiple conversion beamers to cover each other and shoot at targets that get too close to each other.
so there isn't a concurrent update of the red book is there, the new thing is only the new legion army list right?
>>48286724
>"Now to weed out the loyalists. But how!?"
>"Sir, the new shipment of phosphex munitions has arrived!"
>"Excellent!"
>>48286726
Sure, but what a fucking waste of resources.
>>48284854
Strafing run on BA Storm Eagles and Fire Raptors are BS5 when shooting at ground targets... Those AP3 bolt cannons just got nasty...
>>48286740
I remember the Flesh Tearers killing a whole system with melee.
So much phosphex, yet it was Morty who said a man and his blade was enough to kill a world.
>>48286740
my genius plan was to use it before charging into a deathstar with angron
>angron and his idiots are charge distance away
>opponent is all scared and shit, wondering if his deathstar can handle it
>then all of a sudden i go full retard and danger close phosphex right on him, then dump him with 12 plasmashots
>then angron and his shitters charge into the phosphex
its totally retarded, but metal as fuck, so its extra fluffy.
>>48286651
>Predators cost 18.75 points for autocannon shot, Sicarans cost 22.5 per autocannon shot
Sicaran shots are twin-linked, rending, and ignore jink saves. It's also not only a better armored platform, it's a fast tank, and with how stupid tank rules are in 30/40k that means a lot. It's flat out (harhar) just a better tank.
That said I don't think predators are worthless, but I wouldn't use them outside Armoured Breakthrough. The extra autocannon shots they have in 30k make them way the hell better than they are in 40k, but it's as troops that they'd really shine - you can bring a crapload of them, and tanks that can score are pretty incredible in 30k.
>>48286757
>330 Points for 3
Cheaper than a couple of vet squads once you throw in the cost of equipment. Also even with just one, is the entire enemy swarming your one tank? Literally no enemy units worth targeting outside of the 42" range or whatever it is again?

>>48281543
>seekers
The new scorpius bolts
>>48287631
combi-chem flamers definetly, autowound on +4 and AP2 on 6s is wasted on plasma bolts.
Did they fix Caedere weapons not being utter shit?
>>48281543
BS5 and marked for death
Plus if the sniper USR ever gets nerfed seekers wont change

>Predators are finally a competent close support choice
>Deredeo just became even more of a fucking death machine
Can we all stop for a minute and think about the implications for a DA Ironwing army, whos tanks now have bs 5 and tank hunters, and whose Doredeos now now have bs 5 tank hunter heavy 2 las cannon that cause additional pens
>>48281771
There are a lot of cases I can think of where you want to take tactical support squads, schwack a unit up close and charge to finish them off: like Salamanders/DG flamer squads (especially the latter with rad grenades) WE with any weapon they can charge with, SoH with volkites, etc
>>48287778
This isn't Legion rules.
Hope the Deredeo gets physical heavy lascannon upgrades.
>>48284854
will the primaris lightning in the mechanicum be FAQ'd, or do we need to depend on other players common sense and good will to use the most up to date rules without having to buy a space marine book.
Well, as apotentialRaven Guard player I now have difficult decisions to make in fast attack between seekers and dark furies. Is that what being an Iron Warrior is like (just about heavy support instead)?
pdf yet?
>>48288101
Why not both ? Furies with apo and infiltrating Seekers
>>48288125
Well, one of each seems a no-brainer, it's which to take in the final slot that's tricky.
>>48288140
I'm going with reco company, one Dark Fury with vigi and apo and 2 seekers.
In case I'm going with Angel's Wrath it's going to be Fury time.
>>48287768
Weapons that need a better roll than sniper's 4+ use that better roll, not 4+.
>>48286757
3 Techmarines w/CBs in rhinos.
>>48288155
Semi-related, I see they haven't cleared up whether a recon company ROW needs 1 or 3 compulsory recon squads. It's exactly the same wording as before, far as I can tell.
>>48288177
At least recon got cheaper.
Here's something else that interesting: The HQ tank that armoured spearhead lets you take counts as a MotL for AS only.
>>48288101
Yeah. I always max out my FA slots
I always take a lightning with kraken as my third choice. Even though they went up in cost, typhons and spartans did too
As someone putting together a BA force, I would just like to say that all my Christmases have come at once. Now I just need them to put loads of assault marines in the second BaC box .
>>48288305
If they do, I think we can be pretty sure Forgeworld is now using rules to drive sales.

It still bothers me that that line doesn't quite scan. It needs a couple of extra words in the second half of the sentence, e.g.
>Like the dust in the Rubric Marines and the bread on our tables such is life in the Horus Heresy General.
or something in order to balance with the first half.
>>48287512
Epubs don't let you zoom, it's a format designed only for text (hence being able to change font size) but Forge World uses it with pictures as background and strict positioning on the text which completely fucks up everything. It works well enough on tablets and I guess that's all they care about.
What's the jump pack cost for apothecaries?
