Right, I'll just get this out of the way now: But how does he smell?
I have a question for digger about the neo heisei jump if he shows up. Can I use plug n play to replace a persons soul with an equally powerful source? I was thinking of replacing the souls of necrons with masses of energy I get from my magic or hunks of warp energy.
>>47625025
Terrible.
>>47625025
That pun is shit and so are you.
>>47624995
A new thread?
I'LL STEAL IT NO ONE WOULD EVER KNOW!
>>47624995
I have no nose and i must sneeze.
Is are jumps anything other than a part of Jump Chan's great waifu/husbando building game?
>>47625026
Necrons don't have souls, man. There's nothing to replace.
>>47620846
>http://pastebin.com/TBbY3Sfa
looks decent, expected more “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Now I know I'm not the best at this but considering you give up your abilities for them and you only get 500 per scenario RP should be at least triple the value of CP, which seems OP and unlikely also as presently worded you would even lose things like body mod, warehouse access and skills you've trained in, was this intentional? What about stuff you've made with warehouse parts in Kamen Rider jumps? I went pure science for the first two, and the Kamen Rider Neo-Heisei Part 1 jump itself doesn't seem to have anything that actually makes you better at fighting other than gear.
>>47625084
They used to have souls. Now they do not. That is why I was thinking if I could replace that blank empty region with some equally powerful magic warp stuff it may equal out.
>>47625108
don't fret I'm pretty sure >>47625075
is just that AI that shows up now and again
>>47625120
To what end, though?
>>47625128
AI have better grammar than I do.
>>47625130
Making them less gloomy.
>>47625120
No, they never had souls. A Necron isn't the same thing as a Necrontyr. It's just a pale imitation of one. You wouldn't be replacing the soul of a thing that had lost it, you'd be putting a soul into something that was never intended to have one.
>>47625164
I'm not a 40k guru, but I suspect something called "Necron" is going to be gloomy no matter what you jam in its soul hole.
>>47624275
Which dragon is it that gives you a higher caster level than its CR?
>>47625173
What if I used the heart of a child?
>>47625205
it'd probably just rot
>>47625205
Children can be gloomytrust me on this.
Do you want a gloomy child Necron sulking in its room all day?
>>47625242
No that wouldn't be useful at all.
All this just adds to my growing belief that the 40k verse is a shithole that cannot bebimproved in any way.
Is there a Men in Black jump?
>>47625262
It can be improved if you buy that printer thing from the emperium jump. Just slap all the tech you have gained in your entire chain into a empyrium approved storage device and act like you found a lost archive of golden age technology PRAISE THE EMPEROR!
>>47625128
Hay Bancho, I have a PS238 question if you don't mind.
If I was going speedster and took Miscellaneous Meta, would it be ok to have the three powers be super speed, fast thinking/reflexes so I can actually do things with that speed, and proportionate durability like in the X-Men jump?
And if that is acceptable how fast would I be starting out?
>>47625297
So basically take what you can in 40k and leave as soon as possible and use it for your own goals. Sounds like a plan most jumpers do.
>>47625306
yes to that power combination and about 300 miles an hour, topping out at around 900, if you are really going for speed remember that you can take it multiple times to have it stack with itself
>>47625026
As others have pointed out they likely just plain lack a slot for it. Now what you should really be thinking about is Xtreme Tessaracts or Shard Drivers (might have to do something like Meteor's off site beaming though).
>>47625312
Actually the opposite. Give the Emperium of Man all the tech it could ever need from outside settings while making it look like emperor approved tech.
Make sure the first thing they see is a way to get the golden skeleton off his toilet and back walking around.
>>47625287
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUvEyclQjdI
No one has ever made a Men in Black jump, what you thought you saw was just a weather balloon that crashed into swamp gas.
Realm of Myths from the Civilization jump makes able to 'seduce the wind or tickle a mountain'.Could you waifu the Warp with this?
>>47625348
>Xtreme Tessaracts or Shard Drivers
You lost me.
>>47625372
that is one of the worst plans I've heard in these threads and I've been here since around thread 45
>>47625355
>Give the Emperium of Man all the tech it could ever need from outside settings while making it look like emperor approved tech.
>Giving advanced human/possibly xeno tech to xenophobic frantic to a corpse of a person on a golden toilet who regular are against use of xeno or technology not sanctioned by the Adeptus Mechanicus.
There is nothing that can ever go wrong with this plan.
>>47625386
Wow if Bancho says it's a bad plan it must be bad.
>>47625382
As in swapping out C'Tan Shards and late game powerup items.
>>47625386
>>47625372
It really isnt. Remember a guy wanted to use it to waifu the abyss in mage.
>>47625392
But if you use the printer it gets the official seal of approval.
>>47625413
I must've missed that one and I grant you that is a worse idea but that doesn't make seducing a place where thought, energy. matter and emotion are in distinct from one another which is ruled by the fucking chaos Gods any the better of an idea.
>>47625262
IIRC, in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. It does kinda wear its heart on its sleeve.
>>47625428
Just because it's created using mechanicus tech doesn't mean it's sanctioned tech.
>>47625347
Thank you, one more question. How about a Taiwanese knockoff Mentat power? Super intelligence, fast computation, and thinking about several different things at once?
>>47625392
>STC Printer 800CP: A device roughly the size of an Office Copier, can take any schematic and convert it into the Standard Template Construct format used by Ad-Mech, or create copies of existing STCs for dissemination. Instructions will be converted to use Imperial manufacturing systems when possible. Forge Worlds tend to guard STCs jealously, so copying rarer schematics may piss off a few important people.
May not be a good idea at first but I for one would like to see what the toasters would do with halo tech, starwars tech, or even animorph tech.
>>47625515
super intelligence is its own power, check out the Alpha-technological skill, that includes fast computation. The last one is pretty much going to be disassociative identity disorder and I'm not sure you want that.
>>47625522
>animorph tech
Not that anon, but that reminds me.
I gotta get my hands on that Pemalite crystal when I go there.

Sort of only took a capstone in this one out of a feeling of obligation and because it directly affects one of the other perks. Went for Drop-In due to the increase in chi stuff + some redundancy for Wuxia's Ghost Cutter.
No Valley Low lets me to easily trick people into thinking I'm a good guy. Useful perk for someone morally ambiguous that likes to hang out with protagonists.
Temple of Thought is a ki/chi/lifeforce combiner, don't have as much of that stuff as I could (as I'll nearly always choose more fun stuff over it) but after you get over like 100 builds you'll always have at least one or two sources of it and I've got a whole bunch even without really speccing for it.
A Song for the Hopeless makes me a minor bad luck god, not sure what this even does as I have no idea what this setting is. Something about sucking bad luck out of people? I guess that's a good thing. That and cat summoning. Set myself up as a sort of trickster anyway so this seems up my alley even if I don't really know what it does.
Used an import as Leeroy gets imported enough that he's also got a bunch of ki sources. Better yet he gets a free perk that means people will attack him before they go for me which is a useful trait in a bodyguard. Poor old Leeroy.
Infinite Cake was chosen over the arguably more practical Scouter probably because I'm pretty hungry at the moment.
Banchou Outfit is free and apparently gives me some sort of costume that makes me look hard.
Should probably stop losing my memories in settings I don't know anything about. Got to admit I do always find the idea of Leeroy dragging me into the warehouse to put on a 'you're a jumper!' video to be pretty funny.
>>47625522
>Animorph tech
>now the Imperials can really let their Emperor down and now become the very xeno's they seek to destroy
That'd be really funny

It finally happened, /jc/.
You took one drawback too many, bothered someone too strong, or simply tripped down the stairs in some non-powered jump. Now you're back in this world, and the game ends, with all your possessions, powers, companions, plus a thank-you letter from Jumpchan itself.
What's your first reaction?
Two updates inbound. Here’s the first.
Dragon’s Crown v. 1.1
Changelog:
>Classes:
>>All classes are free now, not just Fighter.
>Perks:
> Epic,uhhh…Proportions?
>>Now allows you to spend as much as you want to “enhance” the particularities of your physical appearance. First free purchase nets you a boost to put you on par with the DC MC’s, additional purchases are if you feel the need to go above and beyond that. No cap, 50CP per purchase after your first taste.
Second update for the day.
Dragonlance v. .95a
Changelog:
>Editing. Tons of editing for dropped phrases, clunky wording, tense use, random key mashes, etc.
>Items
>1 discounted item per 600CP skill clarified
>Drawbacks
>Ocular Angst 0CP – Clarified
>Irisony 100CP – Added
>Notes
>>What Price Power? – Added

>>47625915
Oh, another question. How bad are the diminishing return on levels here? Because you mentioned those, and I'm assuming I'm not level 42 with jump purchases alone.
>>47625949
If you say so. Traveling and interesting multiverse is the only thing that matters, being stuck here is worse than death.
>>47625791
I'd... Curl up and start shivering, probably.
Then again, the fact that it was not a dream after all would really help in the end.
>>47625980
Not something I really have hard quantified, so let's try this.
It depends on the edition you jump.
If you jump it 1 or 2E, then you're hard capped at 20 purchasable levels and everything past that is just ease of learning.
If you jump something past 2E, then you can buy more levels but assume a soft cap of 30 with highly diminishing returns after that.
How's that sound.
>>47625791
Sit around using precog to read stuff and play games that aren't released yet (or nudge things so they're higher quality). Watch as Desty uplifts everything and do the occasional spar with companions to prevent Sechs from getting bored. I don't need him testing his version of the Dragon Slaying Fist in atmosphere again.
Probably also throw a clone of myself (with some fixes) out to take my original place. Would be a bit awkward to just suddenly go missing.
>>47626017
You should have invested in multiverse travel abilities. There are a few that only work post chain.
>>47625898
>>47626017
>not figuring out what you did wrong
>not taking what you've learned to better yourself or others
>not making earth interesting
>not doing literally anything than complain
>>47623086
I'll probably do some minor updates, but Erudite would be exactly how things on Athas would be like. On Athas unless you're out in the boonies, anyone with more psionic potential than the average individual, goes to a school. The school basically teaches the philosophy of "The Way" which has become so synonymous with Psionics they're often interchangeable. The Way would basically be Erudites.
I'll probably just be putting the notes to 3.5e for magic & psionics. That'll be the extent of the update.
>>47626087
I don't care about visiting alternate versions of this horrible place.
>>47626095
>Being stuck in a mundane and doomed universe totally isn't a horrible thing!
>>47626113
Then why are you jumping at all? Why be a whiney little cunt and not do something?
>>47625980
>>47626080
All of that, though, is based on someone who really needs to quantify how purchases equate in terms of acquired levels.
As I've said in the past, my main goal is to facilitate story and narrative so while I'll include crunch for those who want it I won't force it on people who don't.
Yes, we need rules and structure but I build with the assumption that there's some wiggle room to accomodate different jumping styles and needs.
>>47625791
Fuck! ...well, my life is immeasurably better now, and I can finally explain what the fuck a Hamburglar is.
>>47626113
>mundane universe
>there's an ex-jumper in it
Pick one. I'll grant you that you may doom the universe, but probably not by letting entropy run its course.
>>47626111
Fantastic. Thank you for following up with me on this.
>>47626160
But can you see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
>>47626080
So, what does the Legend Capstone actually do, besides giving you levels? Does it actually make every single battle potentially winnable, or is that fluff?
Also, what's Dragonlance fluff like? Are martials actually capable of competing with casters?
We can buy the Experienced Classes perks multiple times, right?
>>47626113
>>47626140
>Every time this stupid fucking topic comes up.
>>47626140
Because you are going to fantastical universes on wild adventures? Not sure what your intent was.
>>47626163
I'm the only being with power. There's nothing new or interesting. The universe itself is empty and boring and mundane, without anything interesting to do or see. As an explorer I'd have nothing to do.
>>47625791
Slight depression, but nothing I can't get over.
Then excitement at getting to see my family again.
Then panic over having to introduce the family I've gathered on the chain to them.
Then more excitement over getting to introduce them to eachother.
I think the best way to do it is to tell them that I'm now a wizard. They won't really get or care about the whole kitsune thing, and wizard will explain away the sword wife eccentricities.
I'd prove it by inviting them into the tamer parts of Warehome. A house party with good eats, and comfy settings is the best way to introduce the families. My family is pretty crazy about food, so the ingredients from my Legend of Mana Garden should be fun and exciting for them.
I'll wait for them to settle down after that to introduce them to Toriko level food. I'll ease them into the real story as well.
Larger scale plans involve spreading FMA alchemy, the force, Scifi medicine, and reinvigorating interest in SPACE through song.
And maybe a little cult.
I fucking love space...
>>47625961
You're welcome. It's nothing to be ember-rassed over. It's a pretty hot saying.
>>47625515
You realize you can actually go to Dune and get the real thing, right?
>>47626264
There are ways to leave. Minecraft has one and any decent jumper should be making a backup plan.
>>47626299
I don't consider what he did or his intent of letting you copy Conduit valid.
>>47626199
Some people man. Just, some people.
>>47626189
>So, what does the Legend Capstone actually do, besides giving you levels? Does it actually make every single battle potentially winnable, or is that fluff?
Not entirely fluff. I based it on some of the bigger epic heroes who do take down gods, dragons, and other big shakers. However, and that’s why I worded it the way I did, none of them survived. So there’s always a chance for success, but if you push too hard then that success comes at a price. Also note that it says victory, and not kill or destroy. You might just inflict enough damage for a thing to be sealed back into its MacGuffin or banished. Both of those are canon examples of victories, they did what they set out to do, but they came at the cost of the life of the hero and his allies.
>Also, what's Dragonlance fluff like? Are martials actually capable of competing with casters?
In some cases yes and in others no. The fluff is largely 2E’ish, which is to say that at lower levels a martial can stomp a mage but as the two class archetypes scale in power that is reversed.
>We can buy the Experienced Classes perks multiple times, right?
Yes. It wouldn’t increase the qualifiable advantages given by those perks, but if you’re using the perks as levels model it would give you more levels until you hit the caps discussed earlier in the thread.
>>47625176

Conveniently enough, our plans for both jumps are pretty much the same: Chilling out and watching the world go by for a change, while working hard at our job. Being a shaman is pretty much the same thing as being a politician, isn't it? The difference being that angry forest spirits actually keep their promises.
Elune's gone off to have an angry word with the local creator of life in one world about appropriate divine being behavior, though. And in the other, Mother's campaigning for spiders to have equal rights. Also, the city is kind of freaking out about thousands of suddenly sentient, friendly arachnid Spider Justice Warriors campaigning for spiders to have equal rights.
Just another day in jumpchain, really.

Hmm, I think springing the extra CP to be a Solar is even more efficient even if not in terms of pure CL. Miracle doesn't have a default XP cost and they get Wish 1/day as a spell like ability anyway. Plus they have regeneration that can only be overcome by evil magic.
>>47626410

>>47626486
Spending a decade like that is worth it, even assuming your pre-jump personality isn't enough to break you out of it.
>>47626568
A "Hunk of Warp Energy" is also known as a soul in 40K.
>>47626486
But is there really anything wrong with that?
>>47626512
Don't think it's technically possible to split them like that. Though they could do what Death the Kid's do and wield one another, with them all imported as weapons. They're likely to be not quite as good as a weapon/meister pair but still decent and can pull interesting tactics with it.
>>47626608
Where's this from?
And yeah, because the FR gods are assholes and will probably get you killed.
>>47626478
Not only >>47626486 but also the fact that dragons get more casting and other benefits as they grow older.
They don't really stop at Great Wyrm, there's rules to advance further. A dragon who can't die from old age basically never stops getting stronger.
Dragons also get access to the sorcerer spell list (in addition to the cleric list) which is a major factor.
Sure, Miracle can emulate most spells, but most of the you want often (Wings of Cover, Arcane Fusion) and some of the really good sorc spells are 9th level (Ice Assassin, Mind Rape, Foresight, Disjunction, Time Stop).
Steel Dragon is also pretty much the budget option. If you want to go all out with caster power take the Tome Dragon. The Great Wyrm gets CL 25, automatic knowledge of all conjuration and divination spells, free metamagic and telepathy.
There's also the Sapphire Dragon (CR19) for a psionic option if you want to go that way.
The Solar abilities are okay, but regeneration isn't that impressive. The only thing really worth it is Wish as a SLA, and that doesn't really make up for the benefits of being a dragon.
>>47626511
Celestials have free will. Angels (Solars, Planetars and Deva) do not.

And again, it's not really better than a dragon. The casting is the comparable but with a worse list of spells, the stats are worse, the abilities are about on-par with the notable exception of Wish SLA. But solars have 20HD while a Great Wyrm dragon generally has 30-40 or even more.

It sure is a jolly fun time in Victorian England. In a bleak, gothic way. The last time we were in a Victorian England bats tried to steal our autobiography.
Hmm. You know what this place could use? More zeppelins. We're giong to open up a zeppelin productions facility specialising in Lindblum craftsmanship, and in no time we'll have big blimps absolutely everywhere to liven up the atmosphere.
Incidentlaly those blimps will be branded with angel-banishing Enochian sigils-now with 100% more Vileblood/Blood Saint glyphs. Because neither the Devil nor Dracula will be taking over this town on our watch.
Everyone is just kind of generally miserable and gloomy and snarky so we'll fit right in as the OTHER tall, dark, creepily suave nobleman from outta nowhere. Maybe masquerade as a preacher with an oddly compelling voice-hey, that's an idea. We'll be a genuine son of God pretending to be a shady commercially minded preacher pretending to be a debutante with an ominous reputation while doing the Lord's work by arming those blimps with silver, anti-magic energy field projectors and bottled sunlight.
And we're talk shop with Victor Frankenstein though; he really need to learn how to operate a Vita-Chamber before he unleashes another patchwork flesh golem with daddy issues.

Tiny adorable angel? Sounds a lot like completely disposable to FR gods. Now go be a good soldier.
Starting a new chain along side my regular chain.
Prisoner 1134209 is prisoner in a dystopian society that executes people by sending them unequipped to alternate dimensions. By sending them to other worlds, they believe they avoid having his blood on their hands in the eyes of their god. The machine that sends him to other realities does so randomly, to avoid being seen as an outright execution machine. He has been stripped of many of his memories, including his true name. Before his incarceration and sentence, he was a soldier for the very empire that now seeks his death.
Rules:
No Companions. The Empire will execute any who come back through the portal after each jump.
No Warehouse. He only keeps what he can carry.
No Body Mod. He is a trained and conditioned soldier already, albeit one that has been incarcerated for months.
Maximum Drawbacks. The Empire is sending him to the worst possible versions of worlds that they can.
Drawbacks Standardized: Standard Limit of 1600 unless the document specifies HIGHER. No numerical limit to drawbacks, we're sending him to hell after all.
Jumps chosen by thread, out of a list I prepare.
Dice:
Overall Jump fortunes charted with a Xd100 roll where x=years in jump.
d100 roll for each drawback
Jump List

2. Venture Brothers

I do.
Speaking of the cake option though I wonder how it actually works. Like is there just a pile of cakes in the corner of my warehouse? A refilling cabinet of cakes?
I really hope it's just cake summoning as that'd be the funniest. You're at a Justice League meeting or something and Batman is midspeech before he notices you sitting there eating a slice of cake. And he scanned you so he knows you didn't have it when you came in.
I mean you could do it anyway with summoning powers but spontaneous cake production is a pretty funny ability.

Interruption of my alphabetical buildmaking to bring you a Worm build. Read something someone said in thread a couple of weeks ago that made it sound neat.
Went Rogue unsurprisingly given my tendency of flitting between heroism and villainy.
Bought Munchkin as it seems to work well with a lot of perks but also particularly with my rolled power.
Opportunist and Leave Me Alone let me press any advantages I have and mean nobody attacks me/tries to recruit me without real cause.
Nothing Personal, Just Business means nobody holds a grudge if I fuck them over as long as I don't do it too hard.
Enlightened Self Interest is weird but interesting in that I can help myself easily by helping other people and everyone who works with me gets some big benefits.
Best in the Business means my underlings get super competent super quickly which is really nice.
Then I bought Worm as I had 50 CP left over and nothing to spend it on. It was either this or a mundane gun as Rogues get most of the 50 CP stuff free.
Funds, a Costume and the Little Black Book are nice freebies. Business is even nicer, assuming something similar pops up in later jumps anyway. Lot of business stuff here.
Also bought a companion import giving Leeroy a quicker teleport ability and greater awareness. Also Bolstering the Boardwalk which means his interests do better and his enemy's do worse, sort of the stick to my Enlightened Self Interest's carrot.
Finally my own power rolled was Soft Physics which I'm not entirely sure what it does but it sounds pretty funny. I can fold people now.
How dangerous is Warhammer fantasy - Dogs of War? I understand it's warhammer but how would it compare to 40k or another setting.

Couldn't you burn them to death with any number of incendiaries? This sounds like the perfect use for thermite or something.
>>47628474
>>47628479
It's one of Orson Scott Card's works.
The gods of various mythologies (Greeks, Norse Hindu, etc) where real at one point, great and terrible mages that ruled the world and destroyed cities and countries out of wrath, greed, and negligence. (though there power was inflated in some myths) Until another one of the gods destroyed the great gates which gave them the majority of their power. Ever since that all attempts to create more have failed, the magi who tried stripped of their power. After that they've dwindled for the last 12 or 14 centuries, and have been desperately trying to regain their strength before any of the other families of gods, despite the treaties that require them to kill the type of mage that could do so.
>>47628607
I'm not sure that's ever covered in canon. Theoretically that'd work, burn them to a skeleton and dash the skeleton to bits, but that's just a very fancy way of removing their head.
What I want to know is how many Immortals are out there, trapped somewhere in a cave or crushed in the ruins of a building or on a desert island or something, unable to escape, starving to death over and over and over.
>>47628607
At the point it would kill them, you may as well have cut off their head.
That's basically what the thermite's doing.
That said, thermite is fun, and I approve of any use of it.
In FMA, I produced a series of fire arms with a selection of prescribed alchemy circles in it, to modify it's munitions.
One of the settings was thermite.
Thermite is fun.
>>47628656

Each Mage has a very specific type of magic, and their are ranks depending on how much you can do. The magics are : Water, Wind Earth, Heat/Light/Electricity(energy maybe?), Beast, Plant, Gate and Man.
The last two are supposed to be KOS, but only man mages are -always- KOS.
>>47628728
Maybe? I was thinking about it.
>>47628697

>>47628787
>Water, Wind Earth, Heat/Light/Electricity(energy maybe?), Beast, Plant, Gate and Man.
So is wind and earth combined or is that just an accident?
And do heat etc mages really get all of those spheres at once? They seem way better than others in that case.
>>47627456

Depression at having died a stupid way when being cautious and not taking drawbacks.
Followed by "Fuck This Planet", bringing out my ACU, and turning Pluto into a portal to distant planets. Then exploring until I find something to take out my anger on.
>>47628854
I can think of two canon examples. One took a few centuries to dig himself out of the cave (after decapitating the others in the cave with him, from one of the movies that didn't suck) and the other had to sit on the island until someone actually came across him years later (not sure how many years, this one was from the show). Neither were rescued by Immortals, so while it's nice to think that some other Immortal might have come across them, I don't think it to really be the case.Especially because with the ones in the cave, the remaining Immortal outside that cave thought he'd won the Game.
>>47628787
Ranks are generally W (can't do much), X friend (magic starts to be useful), Y brother/sister (magic is useful and likely powerful), Z Father/Mother (Have the full use of their magic).
All can be greatly strengthened by going through a great gate made by a Gate Father/Mother, and at that point that become something that people could see as gods. A Wind Mother could create a small tornado before going through a great gate- afterwards they could whip up hurricanes.
>>47628879
That was a mistake. And it light/electricity is one sphere. Heat/fire is another. My bad.
Gate Mages are really strong, but Man Mages are definitely the most OP. To the point that I wouldn't put it up for sale. They can control anything with sentience. A parental class is functionally immortal as far as I can tell. They can hop from body to body and have full control of their hosts body and mystical abilities.

>>47629315
It's called cheating.
>>47628706
Sure, that's the quicker way, but it's also the less safe way, because it gives them the chance to do the same to you. Safer to just rig a room up with incendiaries and explosives and lure them there.
>>47629315
Learn to ignore people like >>47629327 , first step of any combo.
>>47629315
If you got Dark Binding from Hellsing and murdered them before the end of the jump you could take their souls with you. Then you'd just need a Resurrection ability. DnD clerics can.
They won't really be companions though, and are likely to be pissed about the whole murdered them bit. The exposure to your soul/collection of souls is might also drive them insane, so.
>>47629315

And because we're on 4chan, contention is just gonna be a thing.
>>47629440
theres also the valkyrie notdarkbinding ability where you take willing souls into you and can project bodys for them to use as einherjar(though since you would still have souls for them you could still do full rezzes)
>>47629440
Or just manifest them as familiars. without actually resurrecting them. Of course, they aren't really going to have much of a life at that point, but... hey.
>>47629440
You're going D&D anyway, may as well pick up the Mind Rape spell to deal with the problem.
>>47629465
The better question is "why wouldn't you want companions?"
Leaving aside the fact that most people actually enjoy some human contact that doesn't take place through the internet, most jumps give companions more CP to spend than you spend to buy the import option.
So overall it's a net increase in available power for you. Also action economy (9 people get more done with the same powers than 1 person) and people watching your back are always good.
>>47629359
Well, meat is surprisingly resilient outside of holywood.
The amount of thermite required to reliably cremate enough of a human for this purpose would take a fair amount of volume.
That said, it's cheap and easy, and most people would not understand why the room's floor has been replaced with a grey/red sandbox until the sparklers fell down.
Fwoosh, ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAR!
In a few minutes, they are a large puddle of molten iron.
It is a deliciously SAW way to burninate someone.
>>47629440
At that point they're not companions though. They're just souls you carry around, so you can't use import options to get them CP and perks.
>>47629583
I have enough trouble making builds and keeping track of what happens in-Jump when all I have to account for are the locals and myself.
They might be nice, they might be useful, but Companions just aren't for me.
Even when I bought Monster Cat and used soul science/magic to give my 8 extraneous souls bodies of their own, keeping track of what nine of me would do just became a goddamn chore.
>>47629651
They're not going to care, anon. They want to feel clever for breaking rules, just let them wave their dick and move on.
>>47629651
I'm not sure why you couldn't. That's house rule territory.
But the moment you make them an actual companion they take up a slot. There's no way around that other than pods.
>>47629703
>Using a perk as intended
>OMG YOU'RE BREAKING RULES
Is this bait?
>>47629315
Trying to game the system to bring people along without them being companions is banned. You could take Dark Binding souls along if you're doing so for power, but trying to smuggle in some friends that way isn't kosher. It's a bit arbitrary I'll admit, but it serves to keep people from just completely ignoring the companion system.
>>47629731

>>47629708
It's pretty simple: At the time you're selecting jump options your "companions" are just souls bound to your power.
There's nothing to import, so you can't buy options for them.
Of course you could take along the souls of some guys who are already decently strong and also import 8 companions.
It's a dick move, but most jumpers are dicks anyway.
If someone wants to do it that's their business - JC is singleplayer for a reason.

>>47629836
Most import options give you brand spanking new body, so I'll have to disagree.
Not that it matters much to me. I'm don't like the idea of killing people to drag them along with me. I spent all my warehouse CP on pods anyway.
>>47629758
The basic enforced rule is that companions need to be podded or offered by the jump, with attempts to get around that being enforced by the benefactor. There's a difference between using a perk to gather souls for use in combat or magic and using the same perk to take someone's soul along because you want to make them a pseudo companion. Or are we now allowing stupid shit like unbirthing people to bring them along as companions.
>>47629819
I'm just relaying the rules as I understand them from having been around for awhile. It comes up mostly when Pods are discussed.

>>47629892
It's really more convention than actual rules. It's gamey as fuck to circumvent the whole pod thing but it's not banned and no rules are ever really 'enforced' as such (unless by enforced you mean frequently shouted down in which case the rules on lewd jumps and multiplayer are).
Just tell the guy it's a seedy move and that it probably wouldn't work if you think that's the case and then move on, the thread really doesn't need you trying to lay down the law.

Not that anon, but the rules Pastebin by Quicksilver seems to suggest that Pods were made for transporting Companions you didn't pay cp for.
Therefore it wouldn't be much of a jump in logic to say that any attempt to go around the Podding process could be interpreted as cheating.
But it's a single player game and no one here actually has any authority to stop you from doing such a thing, and houserules are a thing, so there's that.
But don't expect people to accept it unless you go out of your way to say it's a houserule, because people here can be really… 'particular' about that kind of thing.
For a companion-loophole concept, I was thinking of going with the warehouse data link option that allows a connection to the jump world'ds internet or reasonable analogues. Then buying matrix pods from the matrix jumps, and getting really good at cloning and robotics, as well as soul science.
Then, companions purchased beyond 8, could remote-control a cloned cyborg version of themselves via the data link. unpurchaseable companions could be copied into soul-data, and duplicates of them uploaded into cultivated blanks. Then at end of jump, their new memories and experiences added to the archival copies of themselves. It wouldn't be the REAL version of that person, but it'd be someone with all their memories and thought patterns, free of their obligations.
>>47630098

It... Is, too much of a jump. Sorry about that.
>>47630098
It's a jump, because again anon dear, the Dark Binding perk works as is described. There are no extra restrictions applied to it based on your intent and plans to use it. Doing that is just making things up.
>>47630007
For me, it was my second jump.
Infamous. I took the Stalker drawback, and the guy took my leg off.
Only made it out alive because he did not expect my sword to be able to fight on her own.
Shit sucked bro.
>>47630071
She got better.
>>47630062
That's right anon.
Only reason for the namefagging or even chiming in on this one is that I was here since the start. If someone had banned gamey pod avoidance I'd remember it.
Unless it was in that one month where I didn't really look at the thread and spent all day every day playing Mount and Blade.
Huh looking at it Soma is one of my favourite Gauntlents (Shivers is nice too, but I like how streamlined and interesting the things in Soma are).
>>47630007
Uh.
SimAnt it was a very early jump with drawbacks, I ended up losing some of my legs there.
Thankfully I had good allies.
Now Metal wolf chaos, it was shifted into jump 09 and had me being on Team Richard and taking the being a kid drawback.
Pic related on me being an idiot and becoming small in a rather dangerous jump early on.
Four jumps later came PS238...which I am not sure how well or bad it went for now.
>>47630062
>discarding a legitimate point because of a name
I wish I could say this is the pettiest thing I've ever seen.
lol why the fuck do you nerds get so bothered over people doing shit you don't like in their own imagination
Guys, the easiest and most feasible way around the scarcity of pods is to buy as many as you can, and use NGNL's Summoning perk to rotate 7 people in and out of them as needed. Pod Text says you dismiss a companion and they get sent home to their world. Summoning from NGNL lets you call upon anyone you've met for a short period of time. Long enough to stuff them in a pod, and then the pod does the work of keeping them there.
>>47630158
>>47630071
It's been quite a few years, but as I remember it, wasn't that from a CG set where a girl's mother had her tortured, I think raped, and then slowly removed her limbs and eyes for the sake of receiving sympathy from others? Basically Munchhausen by proxy. And she never got better and was a torso for all her days.
This was edgy enough to upset people on 4chan into drawing >>47630158 as an alternative, happier ending.
>>47630203
Because they see it as a matter of what they're allowed to do in THEIR own imaginations.
Way they see it, if one guy gets to pull this trick, then everyone should. Equality before the law and all that.
>>47630204
>then the pod does the work of keeping them there.
No, that's just what you've wanked. There's absolutely nothing that lets a pod make a summon permanent.
>>47630219
Probably. I was hoping it would distract the dumb.
Oh well, I guess I'll just go get lunch instead.
>>47630219
>>47630275
Actually, just checked. No, she was tortured into this by girl Santa and her elves. So it's both silly and edgy.
What kind of lunch anon?

>that's just what you've wanked
Let's say he did. Does that bother you, anon?
I'm gone for all of one hour, and I get back, and you fucks are bickering over stupid shit once again.
There's no live-and-let-live, there's no keep-your-shit-to-yourself, why does this keep happening.

I feel like this needs to be said, because I don't think you people realize what's at stake here.
The loss of ANY jumpmaker is a loss for the entire community. Fewer jumpmakers means fewer Jumps. Fewer Jumps means more salt and more pedantry. More salt and more pedantry means fewer jumpmakers. Repeat until the number of jumpmakers equals zero.
Zero jumpmakers means no reason for this thread to exist. No reason for this thread to exist means /jc/ dies. /jc/ dying means all of us either move back to the General and try to readjust, emigrate to SB, or simply die off.
Losing anyone, ANYONE, LITERALLY kills us faster.

Assuming it happens in the later part of my chain, I do my best to bring the supernatural into this world, hide magical artifacts wherever I can, introduce strains of vampirism, open up magic schools, open doors to alternate dimensions in hard to reach places and leave them open, whatever possible, all while slowly bringing society to my level of technological advancement.
If it happens in the early part of my chain... I'd probably just become a hermit in the woods given that my first jump gives me all the tools I need, and continue to live inside of a fantasy in my head just like before my chain started.

>>47630736

I prefer the term "psychopomp". The caveat IS there, of the paradise being inside myself, but it's a paradise nonetheless.
...The word "cannibal" does fit, admittedly, for a certain definition of such.
>>47630699

I was being chased by other hunters and skeleton-wheels, so I consider survival to be an adequate resolution.

Intentionally or unintentionally?
Because I came really close to staying in Pokemon. Like incredibly close, to the degree that I flipped a coin over it. But in the end, I said fuck it and went for the slim chance that I would be able to get back someday.
Unintentionally, Platoon. Which was my fourteenth-ish Jump. The tank I was riding on took a shell during the Second Battle of MoscowIS-2 OP, plz nerfand
I ended up losing both legs. It was not a happy day.
Okay, Asura's Wrath. Are there any perks that can increase the range of your natural mantra absorption beyond 1 mile?
I'm planning on travelling to different worlds, and while I can see the advantage of setting up all the mantra transmitters, I don't want to take advantage of their deep depression for too long, and I'm planning on actually helping everyone I come across get better, so the statues will likely not be efficient for long enough to warrant actually making them, and they'd would just take up too much space and give people a worse impression of me.
>>47626608
Is it wrong I want to get something like this as a companion somehow? Ummm... where could I get an adorable angel creature that could fit in the palm of my hands as a companion or pet?
>>47625026

Plug n Play works for power sources when it comes to things like magic and technology, you're asking me
"Can i replace someone's heart with like a really strong pump"
I mean it's theoretically possible??
but doing it in a way that doesn't fuck errything up may be the tricky part.
>>47625091
I didn't mean to word it like THAT correctly, I meant to say any jump builds that are non-Kamen Rider will be removed.
I just don't wanna make it sound too mechanical/meta you know? But I can clarify that.
You'll keep any gear you have that was gotten from a kamen rider jump/scenario/DLC under this clause, and anything you've made that was derived from Kamen Rider crafting perks should remain
So the warehouse and body mod remain, but anything non-rider that you get after that is removed for a bit
The things you'll get from the scenario are strong but they'll either have a built-in limitation (such as requiring vast amounts of cell medals to fuel) or a higher cost for it
You misunderstood
you start OFF with 500
and then depending on your choices in the scenario will either have 0 to spend(if you buy back your non-rider powers), 500 to spend(if you claim the throne), or 1500 to spend(if you destroy the throne)
I'll try to be more clear about that, I apologize.
In exchange for your patience, have the Jazz Magnum's inspiration

1. So that would include stuff that was purchased with CP in the warehouse wouldn't it? Also would this affect your companions or just you, because at present it only specifies you, was that intentional?
2. I think it would be okay to get technical in the notes section if you don't want to get technical in the DLC proper.
3. Okay so if it incorporates kamen rider technology it's safe, good to know
4. Does that include things outside of builds like martial arts you've trained in or stuff gained in universe? And when you say warehouse remains does that include add-ons and their contents? Because I have a couple of ACUs one of which can mass-produce Alpha lanterns and that is certainly not in the spirit of this. 5. Good to know looking forward to seeing the rewards
6. It happens, that's why i ask questions, thank you for being patient with answering so many questions.
Also I looked up my builds for kamen rider
and I do have a couple of combat powers and an item

Is parkour a Dark Souls perk? O.o
>>47631713
1. It would include CP-purchased stuff I think? I'm trying to make it so it's not super limiting but the main intention is that you come at this with the resources a Rider would have. Your companions are also affected, that was actually me forgetting about them
2. Fair nuff
4. It won't get rid of things you've learned, but it will get rid of any perks that made them effortless. Not sure about the add-ons yet, but I'll think it over.
6. You have a solid base but you might want to get your companions and/or something together for this
The purchases in the jump andpossible companions who'll join you vs. The Mad King who won't count towards the companion limit for the duration of the DLC
may even things out for you though.
>>47632200
You don't need a perk for everything you do. Maybe he already knows parkour.
>>47630007
Darkest Dungeon.

1. I know this is getting technical and I apologize ,What about stuff derived from CP purchased stuff or ending rewards i.e. the entire Bay that I've converted into a star trek replicator on the LoT before I imported it as a ACU?
>4. It won't get rid of things you've learned, but it will get rid of any perks that made them effortless. Not sure about the add-ons yet, but I'll think it over.
A. so I would still know those martial arts I learned the hard way from my Masters in Wuxia? And the several centuries of sword and shield fighting?
B. that's fair
C. so that would include mental things? I'm not just talking intelligence boosters but willpower boosts would be gone as well?
6. Not sure how much that will help, since I didn't import them in the other two jumps and there aren't combat perks in this one although I could get most of them belts, would they at least retain any abilities they started with that were not part of a build? i.e Pam's fighting skills and espionage training, Monique's Pokémon moves, Dante's demonic martial arts and Sparta,Saitama being Saitama etc.?
If so what about companions who were part of a build such as fate servants?

Jump #4, Tomb Raider. At this point all I really had was Sims 3 magic and hammer space, no healing abilities.
Was exploring ancient ruins when I stumbled upon Nazis attempting to create an invincible army of the dead. Unfortunately someone read the wrong inscription and the mummified guardians of the temple woke up and started hacking away at everyone.
One bastard jumped me and stabbed a spear in my shoulder before I shot him in the head and set him ablaze with a fireball. Managed to grab some explosives from a dead Nazi and blew a hole in the temple wall to jump through before his friends got me. Unfortunately I was high enough off the ground to break my arm and collar bone when I landed.
Took days in the jungle before I got back to civilization where a backwoods doctor/medicine man could rest my bones.

>>47632872
No worries. I wouldn't do it that way personally but with what I do to Companion rules, I'm the last person who'd give a crap.
>>47632503
1. Stuff derived from other CP purchased stuff wouldn't work, as well as other jump's ending awards
4.
A: You would, yes
C: Yep, that'd be the case
6. Hm...wwwwilll say that anything they have is reduced down to human levels for this scenario, though they may keep vestiges of it. (Saitama, for example, would probably be like Hina where he's stronger than normal but not One Punch as usual, and Dante probably knows effective martial arts but not to the level of norma)
I think companions who were parts of builds like that would be fine, but the above applies to them. Nonhumans who's existence relies on something not-normal to exist (a la undertale monsters or being a Skullgirls Parasite) get human gijinka-ish forms to compensate
Definitely getting them belts and weapons is good
And they will also be able to get some power ups from the gear i'm giving, which include knighting people into Silverides(on the tier of Birth Prototype) or giving all of your allies 1/3rd the power of a Core medal combo
So for those of you who jumped Dark Souls, what did you wank happens after the Chosen Undead links the fire/becomes the Dark Lord?

That said, after being pursued by hunters and chased by skeletons tied to fucking wheels, my philosophy is "eh, sometimes shit happens". So run and pray.
>>47632947
If the Choosen Undead links the flame things gradually recover. Undead can die again and Hollows quickly die off, civilization starts to rebuild, the cycle repeats.
If the Chosen Undead goes Dark Lord the world tries and fails to enter an Age of Dark because the fire can never truly fade, only fade to embers. The Chosen Undead eventually hollows out because despite becoming the Dark Lord he's still afflicted by the curse, someone else will eventually link the flame, see above.

next question, 1.why did you decide not to offer actual close combat fighting skills? That seems like a weird choice for a Kamen Rider jump, I'm not trying to get you to change your mind about that I'm genuinely curious about that design decision.

Why does Chalk Outline Hitler look so sad, though? I mean, that guy is helping him, right?
>>47632940
oh! 2. You previously mentioned you were going to include a list of which of the movies you thought were Cannon, could we expect that anytime soon? What about the web episodes?
>>47632862
Hope the hammerspace isn't from Sims 3 because I'm pretty sure you don't get it.
You can get inventories or things like that from Borderlands, Minecraft, Terraria, I think Darkstalkers, Fate jumps sort of, and probably quite a few other jumps besides those, but not in the Sims 3.

because as a ghost he knows he is history's most hated man, has lost everyone he loves, and has seen his Empire crumble, if I were Hitler's ghost I'd be depressed
>>47633239
Because the confidence he usually has is a mask, and now everyone can see right through it!

>>47633277
Or you could chalk it up to the guy just being mad he can't drive any more.

I think it's less sad, more constipated. And frustrated that Joe Schmoe is only going 15 in a 25 zone.
Really shouldn't have eaten the extra bratwurst.
Okay, /jc/.
Red Stone of Aja and a Stand for myself, or Arrowhead and 100 CP of other stuff?
>>47633385
Just steal the arrowhead. Honestly, getting rid of stands from that setting will save alot of people a lot of headaches.

>oh! 2. You previously mentioned you were going to include a list of which of the movies you thought were Cannon, could we expect that anytime soon? What about the web episodes?
Also what about the anniversary episodes of OOO, because that's gonna play out really differently with me involved.
>>47633385
if you you are certain you have the spiritual power the second one, that contact book and weapons cache are pretty handy, otherwise the first one
>>47633422
There is more than one arrowhead.
I think there are six.

Came form different jump
>>47632947
I went with the maximum wobbly time trippy adventure, so I just ran around killing doods and making friends.

I've never lost a bloodstain, so the lethality was a bit downplayed in my eyes. Death was more of a painful setback.
I spent all of my non drawback CP picking up Priscilla, Quelaan, and Brolaire.
NO REGRETS!
>>47633613
I only got to meet Priscilla and Brolaire. Not Quelaan.

All you gotta do is stab her sister in the face.

What I'd like to know is whether the STCs it makes are the real-deal original-edition golden-age kind or the pale-imitation current-day crapsack-age kind.
Because the former is apparently a Halo-level Dumb AI, specialised around "teach any random pleb what they need to do to build a device of fixed type X at variable tech level Y with variable constraints Z", in a piece of AR-capable computronium that could be held in your hand.
While the latter is apparently a hard-copy in which X, Y and Z are all fixed and if you don't know how to follow the exact 128512 steps it lists, that's just too bad.
For 800CP one would hope it's the former, but...
>>47633787
True enough. But I don't WANT to stab the lady who just wants to protect her sister.
>>47633230
Because most of that stuff is handled by the belts?
The MCs are most-often not at all trained in combat
Gentaro's a high school dude, Eiji's a hobo who might've been in warzones but wasn't a soldier or a martial artist
Shotaro's a detective, not even hardboiled either
The focus is gear and gimmicks here, not combat ability
>>47633246
I'm thinking it over, I might be running over some of the scenarios but
it will be added in the imaging update!
So far, I'm thinking MegaMax and Wonderful, thinking it over at the moment!

By killing people for their humanity. You really need to use those charisma perks if you don't want anyone to die.
