This long.
Can't find if this has been asked.
In the Light of Terra Jump the limitation takes all powers and gear, but in the supplement it states you get to take gear equal to the current tech level IRL. Do we appear with said 'old school' equipment or would we have to be wearing it before the jump began.
>>47411829
Sounds most likely the latter at least to me.
>Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.
How ready are you to let everything behind for the sake of your own survival, Jumpers?
Sup /jc/
How high a powerlevel should you have if you're trying to fix Evangelion?
>>47411852
I WILL NEVER LEAVE A FALLEN COMRADE.
>>47411829
wait where does it say that? I was thrown naked on to a metal spider you mean I could of been fully dressed and have a gun on me
>>47411868
That is difficult to answer, and depends on whether or not you're willing to give up your humanity or not.
>>47411904
>rejecting your humanity
DIO please go.
>>47411852
everything? in an instant, I leave behind an entire world every 10 years for longer than life has existed on this planet. everyone? never, and I never will.
>>47411868
What do you want the end result to be? Just avoiding Instrumentality?
>>47411904
In the supplement under Equipment it states as follows...
While most equipment is confiscated, weapons, armour or gear you could obtain today from the real world will remain for use.
Examples include handguns, automatic weapons, medical supplies, kevlar vests or swat style body armour. Enchanted or outright magical versions of these items are however, confiscated also.
The thing I'm confused about is the fact that it states this but at the usual level most Jumpers I've seen are at the beginning of LoT this sounds kinda redundant, as they will be thrown naked into the world anyway.
>>47411943
>>47411868
Just kill the human race first.
This is your Captain with yet another Jumpchain Announcement!
With the most recent update to the drive and the concern about the 500 file limit for the folders I have set it so in the Completed, but needs image work Folder there are now 3 Folders.
One folder with jumps A-M (Though it also contains jumps such as 8-bit Theater & 1984), One folder with Jump N-Z, and Finally a separate Folder with all the jumps that for one reason or another have their own folders.
If this problem comes back again (In which case let me just say "Holy shit" in advance) i'll most likely split it up two more time, but until then we have safe from the Google Error menace!
As always Keep on jumping.
>>47411960
Ok.
>>47412008
Sounds radical.
>>47412008
I was wondering what had happened, how is the SWTOR jump coming?
>>47412008

My personal goal for 'fixing' Eva would be to prevent all deaths, save Rei, save Asuka, cockblock SEELE, cockblock Ikari, and, of course, cockblock Tang. You could include cockblocking 2nd impact, but I'd consider that above and beyond the goal.
>>47412194
How could you stop 2nd Impact? It happens before the Jump starts.
>>47411960
Continuing this line of thought though has me wondering if my Jumper is that freaking paranoid. He's had his powers stripped from him six times now and he knows that sometimes you have manditory drawbacks, from Bloodborne, so I wonder if he has a Xanatos Gambit prepped so that he rests his last day in gear that is completely mundane by his standards.
As for the times he's had his powers taken; Quest for Glory 2, Redwall, Harvest Moon, Bloodborne, Ace Commander, & The Mysterious Cities of Gold. Out of all of them the most horror inducing was the Redwall Jump cause I also took the Amnesia drawback.
>>47412222
Time Travel, son.... and possibly nano-machines.
>>47412222
I think there's a jump start for the arctic expedition, and anyways this is /jc/, there's a perk for that by default. As I said, though, that would be beyond reasonable expectation, and would probably fuck some things up along the line.
>>47412194
Well then, you're going to want to start as early as possible, 2006 is a good idea. That will allow you to interfere with a LOT of events, from Rei 1's and Ritsuko's mom's deaths, to getting a head start on the anti-SEELE mission(given that they were already under investigation in-series proper), become trusted friends of Misato and Kaji(who were both working for NERV and it's predecessor at the time) and prepare tech for the upcoming Angel invasion. The biggest problem for the heroes wasn't power level, but psychological wounds and being outgunned and outnumbered by SEELE's forces. You can save Kaji, which will hamper SEELE's attempts to gain the JSDF's help to attack Tokyo 3. Really, as long as you can fight off their agents, the biggest threat they can bring to bear are the MP Evas, and those guys aren't actually that tough.
>>47412073
It might have been a little dull getting everything for the A-M folder, but after that I thank Jump-chan for select all.
>>47412071
Aye, some things over the last few days had gotten in the way of my doing the next drive update and upgrade everything to the google Error doesn't happen.
As for Swtor? It is coming along I have to say. The "fluff" parts of the opening few sections aren't complete but the "meat" is there which just means I get to dive into perks, items, and complications. Tried my hand at imagining a page the other day but grew frustrated with it so that will most likely wait until everything is set in stone.
I was trying to do "research" into each Class option (and by research I mean actually play the game), but with how time consuming that is going to be I might just try to find a few videos that go through all the class story quests so I don't spend months just trying to get through all eight paths.
Overall: Progress!
Though i'll be focusing on this jump to try to channel the Star Wars feel and once that is done i'll go 100% full on orky in prep for the Ork jump.
>>47412383
Yay some progress is better than no progress!
>>47412383
Out of curiosity, what do you need for the class options? Actual story details(like the Sith Inquisitor being able to channel ghosts) or just the powers of each class? Or is it both? Also, I don't suppose I could ask for a 0cp drawback that makes the Eternal Empire and Vitiate separate and completely unrelated?
>>47412383
When the time comes, I will refer to you exclusively as Cunnin' Brutal.
>>47412484

>>47411852

>>47412448
Well i'm mostly looking for story details and the like as the two classes that I have gone through are Sith Inquisitor and Imperial Agent, but this is more so I can get a "feel" for each class to help make perks that feel appropriate to said class. What i'm thinking of doing is taking a Class, watching/looking at their entire class story arc, and then making the perks & items to that class with drawing some inspiration from the story itself.
I think the closest to "game mechanics" that I feel comfortable with will be the spec options.
As for the 0CP drawback? I don't see a reason why not to include such a drawback as it will make a nice edition to theThree other 0CP drawbacks lined up
>>47412484
Speaking of Cunnin' Brutal and Brutal Cunnin' i'll most likely be spending most of tomorrow playing Total War: Warhammer so I apologize in advance for next few day so slow progress on the Swotor Jump.
>>47412735

How eXtreme are you, Jumpers?
>>47413039
Sleep is for the weak.
Now that we have the new Eldar jump and more to come, what order did you take all of the WH40k jumps and why? Also what do you think is the safest order in which to take them?
>>47413039

>>47413178
Five Guys is super gross. Way too greasy, and not in the good way.
>>47413178

>>47413205

>>47413178
Five guys have really good fries, far better than any fast food restaurant anyway.
>>47413205
You sir are shit, there is no better burger that comes from a chain and their fries are simply wonderful (especially with the Cajun spices).
So what I've learned today is that either everyone here has terrible taste in food.
>>47413205
>Too Greasy
Bitch I will fight you. Things might be "Too Greasy" to eat regularly, because it's unhealthy
But Greasy food is fucking delicious.
>>47413361
YOU DARE?
>>47413361
Apparently everyone here is American.
>>47413386
Is it wrong that I actually want to eat that?
>>47413373
No, I don't mean that it's unhealthy. I agree that greasy food is tasty. But this is genuinely too greasy. Like, rancid levels of greasiness. It's disgusting.
>>47413407
Maybe, maybe not.
Either way, if you eat it, I reserve the right to refer to you as an "absolute madman" and inform the world on how "he/you actually did it."
>>47413407
Of course not!
What you did there.
>>47413446You see it.
I saw it.
>>47413404
Admittedly Five Guys is probably responsible for the whole american french fry portion thing.
>>47413416
Five Guys is greasy but not that greasy, it's not like it is dripping with grease like some burgers I know.
>>47413468
The franchises near me must be below the norm, then.
Eh, Im not a fan of greasy food so all fast food comes off as greasy as fuck.
But Im also from a family of decent cooks so we didnt eat fast food much to begin with.
Not that anything we make is all that healthy either. Pizza from scratch is still pizza.
>>47413205
I agree, shit's greasy as fuck, like eating a tub of deep fried lard.
>>47412008
Question.
Would it be possible to move related jumps (all starcraft jumps, all final fantasy's, megamans) into folders of their own, for the sake of neatness?
Otherwise, instead of sorting jumps by imaged/text, would organizing jumps in general into folders like 'novels' 'videogames' 'anime' etc. be easier to navigate overall?
>>47413060
Release order.
So, Jumpers. What is the silliest thing you've said out loud in your travels?
>>47413542
There's a lot of ways to sort them though. Source medium? Power level? Companion import option?
What it really needs is a proper tagging system and nobody cares enough to make that happen.
>>47413404
Look bro, nobody else does burgers right. So of course we're Americans. It's like complaining that a German is getting uppity about sausage and beer. Of fucking course he is, he's supposed to.
>>47413673
She’s connecting to my codec through the witch-king’s face.
>>47413542
>'novels' 'videogames' 'anime' etc.
But then you have some jumps that fit two or more of those categories.
>>47413542
That's excessive and tedious.
As a person who is trying to make an Orc Warboss chain what are some good places for some fightin'?
>>47413136
Wait, we actually have a KoL jump?
*checks*
Why is it so.... Generic? Bland?
It could be filled with silliness and actually good stuff.
A perk that allows for silly items to be fairly powerful, maybe. A Wand of Nagamar item that turns spells cast against you into anagrams of them that are harmless. A drawback that forces you to do the sea monkee quest.
>>47413741
Sugar Bowl.
>>47413542
I say put related stuff that's related in folders, remove folders which are the same jumps with alt colour schemes or other trivialities, and slam the imaged and non imaged together in a clusterfuck folder. I appreciate wanting to order and theme it, but foldering and refoldering over types of media would make trying to just browse jumps the cause of /jc/ ragequitting civilisation and becoming bigger murderhobos than a shitty game of D&D.
>>47413828
Like, say.
Putting the Warhammer 40k jumps into one folder?
Like how Imperium's sitting fine in a folder all on it's own?Speaking of - I'm assuming with how things have been going, there's no longer going to be a Warhammer 40k Endjump?
>>47413904
>Endjump
Get bent.
>>47413904Considering that the last 40k endjump was killed with fire and magnets, I somehow doubt one will crop up
Knew it. Someone re-orders the folders out of necessities and everyone is trying to force their shitty ideas on us to make it harder to browse. Goddamnit.
>>47413940Care to explain what "killed with fire and magnets" means? Actually don't explain if it'll cause a shit-storm but if it won't please do, I'm curious.
>>47413939
It's amazing how salty people get at the idea of endjumps. This place has gotta end sometime, and endjumps are a good way to close it off. We're not going to be here forever with the amount of jumpmakers that have disappeared on us or we've driven off.
>>47413828
I agree with merging imaged and non imaged at least. The difference is immaterial.
>>47412856
>Well i'm mostly looking for story details. . .

https://landofodd.net/swtor-class-story-summaries/
>>47413673
what could possibly go wrong?
>>47413060
My jump order doesn't necessarily reflect the chronological order for my jumpers narrative. In narrative, it'll go: Eldar-DEldar-Imperium-LoT-Chaos
>>47413178
Good fries, but they cook the everloving shit out of their burgers.
>>47413542
I dislike this idea. Searching by name is far easier.
Does A Game of Shadows from Sherlock Holmes also boost your raw planning ability or does it just give you the web visualization trick?
>>47414116
Somehow a Bancho plan ending with 'what could possibly go wrong?' has a whole different meaning than anyone else saying that.
>>47413767
Because someone made it for the sake of making it, and nobody knew it well enough to stop them. Or because God doesn't love us. Take your pick.

Final perk of the Neo-heisei!~ I'm gonna take this time to fluff out the origins as well as the items, but I have to ask...Let's say I were to make this an imaged Jump...what style would fit this? I have the W style and OOO style I can try to do, with maybe Fourze for the Notes, Drawbacks and Move On page...
Also, how would possibly giving the Good Samaritan a discount on all belts, even the ones outside of their gear line. Not sure about that but it's a possibility...

I don't know, Sai might work out decently. He at least has style and mild competence from what little I saw of him. Other than that I completely refuse to consider the possibility. Team 7 was idiotic, and I'm glad I managed to largely avoid them while we were busy completely derailing the plot, sometimes by accident.
You see Dysfunction Junction ended up with a lot of us going our own ways, Sechs went off on a rampage, Desty partnered with Orochimaru, Bigby went around trying to keep a lid on the rest of us, and Jormangandr ended up in the Akautski for shits and grins. I meanwhile had fun building Anubis' legend as the Final Sword of the Mist, and generally making a mess of things while attempting to get to know our supposed mentor, after ensuring Obito and Black Zetsu were very thoroughly dead (Obito was nasty, turns out the Sharingan can counter the visual portion of my Stand, and landing hits took ages). I handed out basic metaknowledge including why the Ten Tails is a stupid idea to recreate, and Madara should stay dead, but other than that it was a mostly uncontrolled plunge. Partially due to laziness being the major thing Dysfunction Junction honed in on for me.
Sound actually became a legitimate Hidden Village after some of the stuff Desty handed them. I'm just lucky I go with the assumption Bloodlines are at least partially a metaphysical matter, so we didn't have him giving them out like candy. There were still some rather disturbing experiments in that vein though.
>>47416093
So with Madara and Obito dead, I assume Pain was allowed to rampage on his own? Considering he got held back a lot by Obito's complication addiction and his desire to create an eternal dream world, I'd imagine he was able to achieve much more success.
>>47416093
Hay Merch what would you get in Percy Jackson if you were a egyptian demigod ofKek
Does anyone know a good ruling for what happens to my army of robots inthis circumstance? Basically, via Doormaker, my companions opens up an empty earth world covered in plains and grassland to act as my home for where my ACU begins it's encroachment and expansion. At the end of the jump, what exactly happens to all those resources and robots? Does Jumpchan send me on the next jump and keep those things in the same type of world in the other jump all resources intact? Or am I to expect that those are left behind and I start anew? I needto build a really, really large army to modify and experiment with, to get my plans to fruition.
>>47416215
It gets left behind. Doormaker doesn't make pocket realms for you, it just opens a doorway to some place. Whatever place you build things in gets left in the previous jumpverse when you leave.
>>47416215
Things you build in a jump and leave in a jump stay in the jump, regardless of leaving them in a dimension other than the one you started the jump in. If you use something like the Mario Warp Paintings or Minecraft's Mystcraft then you can take the pocket dimension with you (Mystcraft is a bit dubious but I'm pretty sure it works) with the army in it.
You will probably need Doormaker or something like it to get the army in and out though...
Actually, didn't someone ask about the Jump Doormaker's max size? From memory canon has a fairly large portal used in the evacuation, but I can't remember how big it is. You may need something other than it to actually get them out of the pocket dimensions.
>>47416298
>>47416302
Much appreciated anons, but of a bummer, thought maybe the breach controller would help out for keeping them, because nonmatter what setting I go too, a basic "empty world" should usually be available. Though of course, I guess I could just house them in that Time Chamber SCP, which would actually be pretty crazy taking into a ccount how quickly the ACU can build things, now imagine it at 140 times speed. And in regards to doormaker portal size, I'd assume a sufficiently trained one (like 100 years of training ) could create some really, really big portals, and multiple ones at that, similiar to canon.
What are all the 'conquer/control/unite the world' jump, or to be more general, all the ones with special requirements to move on to the next jump?
>>47416151
Yeah, Pain ended up running the show by and large there. The real fun part was subduing Black Zetsu and then restraining him with a method able to keep him able to answer questions but not escape. After a long talk culminating in soul ripping Black Zetsu, Pain ended up just defaulting to stockpiling power and Tailed Beasts anyway. Jormangandr served as an excellent deterrent too, but the main idea was to deprive the other villages of them almost as much as it was to use the Beasts for their ends. So it wasn't derailed too much initially, but as recruiting prospects changed around due to other butterflies and some madman kept going around hunting down S Class ninjas to fight for fun it diverged a good deal.
There might've been one particular attempt to have Jormangandr attempt to brute force destroy the mind of a Biju and then rebuild it with help from Sasori. Luckily the end result was simply a particularly feral and somewhat weakened Biju that slowly regenerated thought. They had some turnover from that one.
Lots of jumpers have abandoned the need to sleep a long time ago but what if you want to sleep? I know most perks like that which remove your need to rest say that you can still sleep if you want to but are there any perks that would help with getting to sleep when you want but don't need to?

What little I can find on him leaves me with approximately the same powerset as some random Japanese God of Darkness and Chaos from awhile back.
http://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/45861999/#45869237
Touch would be more break stuff down instead of randomness due to different concepts of chaos, similarly the luck would get more turned into an aura pushing things towards destructive events. Also talking to and commanding Frogs and Snakes, and reenacting the Plague of Darkness (which should probably be on the Japanese one too, it makes for a fun capstone power for darkness gods, if it does risk getting a bit generic to hand it to lots of them). Except interesting looks from pretty much everyone, and the House of Life might flip its shit about you if it finds out about you (as would many of the Gods), not to the extent of the drawback though, if nothing else they'd be dissuadable and willing to cut their losses or prioritize other things. Now the question I'm considering is which God to pick up as a parent for turning rivers to blood, the rain of fire is fairly universal, but with that and some insects you could reenact most of the Plagues of Egypt.

There is a tendency among the uninitiated to assume that symbolic organizations have any importance to their members. After all, they've got all these big important documents associated with their founding ideals, and everyone makes such a big deal about them.
Ironically, the people most concerned with these symbols are often the ones who would see the least change after their erasure - whereas the ones most closely linked to these symbols often care about them the least, hence a certain degree of mismanagement.

Most of Monsanto's stuff is safe to eat, which is a good thing considering how much of our food originates from them, they have however created some plants that produce pesticides, and other equally retarded things. Turns out that's a bad thing, even if the pesticide is 'harmless' to humans, it tends to cause allergic reactions at best. Monsanto though seems to look at dystopian megacorp stuff like most cyberpunk as a helpful guide rather than cautionary tale.

First off, Monsanto doesn't (at least to my knowledge) produce anything that produces it's own pesticides. What they DO produce is plants that are RESISTANT to pesticides. Which means that you can spray your fields with pesticides and not have to worry about killing your crops.
Secondly, the majority of the problems that arise aren't due to the pesticides themselves. Rather, instead of following the directions and applying the correct dosage, farmers just bathe their fields in the stuff. The equivalent would be if the package of Raman said to cook it for sixty seconds, and then you cooked it for ten minutes because you know what's best. Would you complain about the company producing burnt food then?
That being said, Monsanto has some fucking shitty business practices in the form of their terminator seeds and being notoriously sue-happy. So fuck them.
>>47418044
I imagine they would be kind of thin and sharp.
Now that I think of it, what Symphogear's did people take in that Jump. I went for an Implanted Nemean Lion and a not so implanted Prometheus.
>>47417938
Do you know how many countries won't even allow that GMO stuff in the country. I am not saying that the idea is all bad but clearly putting pesticides in the plants has turned out quite badly. I am even saying I would create GMOs I would just do a better job.
Also that round up stuff is pretty bad. We could use some jumper bullshit to clean up the food supply.
Another obvious targets for my economic wrath will be the oil companies that will work hard to phase out with clean green energy. Magic would probably be better here but then you get all the religious people throwing fits and calling it satanism.
>>47418133Implanted Prometheus.
I then went on the scavenger hunt of a lifetime to find every damn piece of it, thus making it a whole artifact - indirectly meaning I shred my body with Phonic Energy every time I sing, and that I've got chains oven into my muscles.

Humanity, I guess.
How else am I gonna get cool new stories describing crazy-awesome universes, which I will then travel to?
>>47418179
First of all, just because other countries do something, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
Second of all, again, there are no pesticides in these plants. There never have been. Among other things (increased yield and such) they are resistant to pesticides. Which means that pesticides can be used to kill pests (which of course damage the crop) without harming the crop itself. Thirdly, pesticides like everything else, is only harmful in certain doses, which wouldn't be a problem if farmers would read the instructions. Fourthly, the much bigger issue is that prevelance of herbicides and pesticides causes resistant strains of said pests to mutate, which is bad. But again, if farmers would RTFM and not just dump the shit on their plants without a care, then that issue would disappear. Lastly, and this shall be my last word on the subject, there are issues with certain GMOs causing allergic reactions. But that's not due to the fact that they're modified, but rather how they're modified. Corn with soybean genes for example, might trigger someone who has allergies to soybeans. Corn with cotton genes wouldn't.
I will say that I certainly advocate labeling of GMOs, if only so that people who might have such issues will know. But this whole "GMOS CAUSE CANCER. MONSANTO IS THE DEVIL AND WANTS TO KILL US. MUH ROUNDUP." thing is bullshit.

Symphogears are bits of old magitech weapons with extra lower quality magitech attachments to form a regalia with useful properties. We've seen three unfragmented Relics so far, Durandal was a sword that shot lasers everywhere and was used in a cannon intended to blow up the moon, the armor I can't recall the name of that had bullshit regen, and a few other neat tricks, and Solomon's Cane, which summons and commands Noise in massive numbers. Notably complete Relics while they need large amounts of Phonic Gain to activate don't deactivate and can be used without singing. Although it's been shown that there are quite a few things capable of destroying Relic fragments, most notably S2 had a monster that's whole schtick was eating the things, so it's quite possible some bits are just plain gone.
There has been an instance of using bits of another Relic to enhance another one, though I'm pretty sure Dainsleif was special for being able to be used that way. Also was the results of the plan of someone whohas reason to know a lot of the old lore. And was busy creating stuff that's miles ahead of anything we've seen from someone not name Finé. Even comparing to Finé Carol might come out on top, though that might just be willingness to use certain unadvisable power sources.

>>47419487
I think some of the generic jumps allow you to pick a setting that fits the theme, but I can't recall which ones. Slice of Life comes to mind?
>>47419548
I assume it's got to be existing at the time of your jump.
>>47419487
You could always go to a setting with a wide enough multiverse.
Dresden Files, for instance, has *everything* in it. The books explicitly mention that there would be a Spiderman slinging around New York in some far flung corner of the Never Never, and the author's talked about how Star Wars and the Force exists somewhere out there. And that's without getting into the *actual* parallel universes (that we'll see in book 17 - Mirror Mirror).
>>47419667

>>47419724
Well.. I can give you a partial reference. Ghost Story Chapter 35:
“Spider-Man is pretend and doesn’t count,” I said.
“You start drawing distinctions like this now?” Bob asked. “Besides, he’s real. Like, somewhere.”
I blinked. “Um. What?”
“You think your universe is the only universe?Harry, come on. Creation, totally freaking huge. Room enough for you and Spider-Man both.”
Bear in mind that Bob is fundamentally incapable of lying and that knowing the shape of the universe is basically what he DOES.
As for the Star Wars thing.. that was from a video I saw somewhere. I believe it was a Q and A Jim Butcher did during a book tour. Which makes it extremely difficult to track down without watching hours upon hours of footage (I checked the Reddit AMAs and the forum archives just in case- it's important to stay busy while procrastinating). I know he used the words "the Dresden Files exists in a wide spectrum multiverse" (or something like that, and the gist of what he said was that if Harry waded deep enough into the Never Never he could find Star Wars, but why would he do that? - you just *know* you won't be a Jedi.
And like I said - that's just the Nevernever.
>>47420015
Like people said before, that raises issues because other settings cosmologies don't support Dresden files stuff. Meaning you'd be getting something that looks like Marvel but is inevitably different and likely weaker.
>>47420015
...whelp.
It sounds like things are going to get really, really crazy in the apocalyptic trilogy thne.

>>47420015
>incapable of lying
But not of being wrong or having a guess.
>>47420039
Hang on this could work, since each world is like an island universe with their own rules not effecting the others it makes sense for some to be bigger or have different rules.
Universes are islands and nevernever is like an ocean between them.
>>47420071
Except this raises the question of whether DF's God and the archangels are truly supreme, or whether multiversal beings like YHVH are out there somewhere watching DF as the equivalent of their sitcom
And whether the Outsiders are a multiversal level threat, or merely a universal one limited to DF
>>47420071
Except some settings refer to multiverses, hyperverses, omniverses etc, omnipotence or the other two, various levels of infinity and so on. If they do all exist as islands, then basically every mention of these is a huge lie. It also requires taking Dresden Files view of things as taking precedence of all of the rest of fiction, a pretty big stretch given the series isn't really lacking in telling us it can do things but never showing (Galaxy busting my ass).
Besides, there are series where we can see the edge of existence (DC for one) and it's certainly not the nevernever.
>>47420039
Well... Spider-Man won't be weaker. I imagine you could have a full scale Galactus or Thanos somewhere out there - by definition this sort of infinitely sized multi verse would have room to fit them and all their buddies in it.
The only issue you're going to run into is *actually* omnipotent beings. Which in my mind is pretty easy to solve - different places in the universe will see different aspects of them, or maybe they'll see nothing at all. Actually, multifaceted deities fits really well with the Dresden Files, know that I think about it.
>>47420088
Outsiders being marvel villains warped by deep nevernever is funny though. Besides mab is only protecting one world from outsiders.
>>47420097
Be fair here marvel and dc cant even be consistant within their own settings.
>>47420097
I'm... not sure I understandd. One being infintie doesn't preclude the other's being infinite.
Dresden Files can have Marvel and DC in it, just like DC and Marvel can have Dresden Files in it. Recursion's a thing.
They can just have a different 'top layer'.
I'm kind of imagining fractal patterns, if that makes any sense (probably not).
>>47420071
By this model, anything said to be infinite in scope in any fiction is false because it's all ultimately limited to it's own section of the multiverse (Not even getting into that series have their own multi or higher verses).
>>47420111
So what about settings where that author's word contradicts this ones? Worm is explicitly deterministic but this theory says that the author of that was lying?
It just doesn't make sense. Jim Butcher can make that claim all he likes but until we see actual evidence, I'm going to treat it like I treat galaxy busting angel claims. A load of bullshit there as a joke, not an actual thing.
Besides, it kinda ruins the entire point of Jumpchain if that is true doesn't it?
>>47420127
Not really relevant, there's plenty of other examples.
If I had the Like Riding a Bike perk from Sword Art Online and then go to Overlord as a Magic Caster and use the 「Perfect Warrior」 spell, would I keep the skills that it gives me even after I dispel it?
>>47420139
Not him but it makes sense to me.
Isnt there a hero in dc who is as powerful a superman who gets power from the abrahamic god? Doesnt he work with people like wonderwoman who are related to greek gods?
>>47420052
im's said that the BAT will be about saving ONE universe. He talked about it in the context of Uriel and the game he's playing, with this being one tiny piece of the much bigger picture. Harry just doesn't have the scope required to see the full size of reality, much less actually participate in it.
>>47420146
Its comic books anon. The settings cosmolgy changes with the writer.
>>47420139
If one universe is infinite in space, then it covers all space right? You can't have two universes cover all existing space. If they exist on different layers, then neither of them are truly infinite because they both don't cover all space, meaning every setting but Dresden Files is wrong about it's own setting.
It's a really dumb idea that shits all over all other fiction and makes Butcher look like an ass.
>>47420160
Gods in DC aren't exactly the same as their 'real life' counterparts. Your also most likely talking about the Presence, since I think you're referring to the Spectre, who's...sort of the abrahamic god? He's not omnipotent in any case. The omnipotent being is Monitor Mind the Overvoid, the thing that is all of reality outside of the tiny speck that is the DC Multiverse. It's one of the reasons this DF stuff doesn't make sense.
>>47420186
Um not really? Infinite space on different layers does not counteract each other. If anything its somehow more infinite.
>>47419529
perf setting for a spark or those who want to blast concepts with artillery salvos
>>47420164
>>47420139
Fine, I'll put it another way:
The DFverse being truly infinite would imply SOMEWHERE, SOMEWHEN that Elder God Demonbane, Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, the Unconquered Sun and Kami Tenchi exist. And that there is therefore a greater than 0% chance of them coming into contact with each other.
Since every conflict ever has NOT been retroactively resolved in a burning eruption of justice that ends with the Denarians being redeemed through concussive therapy and the Outsiders screaming in terror before being obliterated, I think we can safely say the infinite fractal theory has been conclusively disproven.
>>47420116
IIRC they're actually servants of the beings kept suppressed by the Oblivion War. But then I've always liked to think of Mab as alternate universe Granny Weatherwax.
>>47420186
No I mean shazam.
>>47420186
That's not what Infinite means anon. Infinite means that it continues without end, not that it covers all existing space, but that there is no end to the amount of existing space. Think about it this way, even whole numbers are infinite, as are odd whole numbers. You can never run out of either even, or odd numbers when counting, but they don't have to take over each other's slots.
>>47420202
Not just EGD, it implies that Vortex Blaster Demonbane exists. The thing that killed Azathoth even when near death and without most of it's weapons.
>>47420097
You're thinking too small. Cue the voice of The Narrator:
This is Harry Dresden. He is currently talking to Bob, a spirit of intellect. Let's zoom out.
This giant glowing sphere is Harry Dresden's universe. One of the continuums of its existence is called the Nevernever. Let's zoom out.
In the expanse of the Nevernever, Harry's universe floats along with countless others - and in a countless number of those, a young man in a spider costume is swinging through a city, while in another countless number, another young man is discovering the ways of a mystical energy field. Let's zoom out.
This giant glowing sphere is Harry Dresden's multiverse. It too also has continuums of existence. Let's zoom out.
In the expanse of {not translated}, Harry's multiverse floats along with countless others - and in a countless number of those, a Harry is having the exact same conversation with a Bob, even though their rules of magic in their multiverses are different). Let's zoom out.
A countless number of multiverses each containing a countless number of universes related via a countless number of continuums allows for the possibility of... well, everything. But why stop there? Let's zoom out.
>>47420220
Look at >>47420202
If you are right, then the countless nigh or actually omnipotent beings should have solved all issues in this multiverse by now. Your theory relies on everyone and every setting but you and Dresden Files being wrong about their own setting and power levels. Sorry man, but in this case? I'm going with the rest of created fiction against one setting that's not exactly all topped up on quality and consistency.
>>47420202
I do not follow your logic. Just because they cannot or have not come into contact means very little.
Both dc, marvel, and darkhorse verses have crossovers all the time so whats the problem?
>>47420237
I take it you don't understand the expression, "omnipotent within their domain"?
>>47420146
The assumption I'd make is that the laws of physics are somewhat malleable (which actually makes sense in light of another WOG).
But yeah, it's the sort of thing that should mostly be ignored for jumpchain purposes. I do think the Spark is better in a lot of ways though (more power, probably easier to move around in, and you can *actually* move between 'settings', rather than moving between places that happen to mirror them. Which in my mind has a whole bunch of benefits).
Tangential to all that.. the "unmake galaxies" thing actually makes sense to me. Uriel, being who and what he is, could totally be rocking that much power. We just don't see it becausse a) He's fighting in a MUCH larger war and we're all the way down at the ground floor, so we're not going to see it and b) in the Dresden Files, great power comes with great constraint - Uriel doesn't have the free Will necessary to *use* his power fully. It seems he just uses as much as he can to balance out what the Fallen Angels are doing.
>>47420256
Your assumption. If a setting uses that phrase then sure, but if not then I'm going with what the setting says over your assumption.
For example. In Lovecraft, everything is Azathoth's dream. Every atom, every universe, every multiverse, everything. You are basically going "No that's wrong, you're not actually infinite." Why isn't Dresden Files just part of Azathoth's dream instead of the way your claiming? Or why isn't it just some glitch in the Monitor Mind? Or the Creator or the Undoubtedly First or any other?
You can say that they're 'omnipotent within their domain' all you like, it doesn't change that you are trying to change what those series say is right to what Dresden Files says is right (Or rather what you interpret DF as).
Now if you really want we can go look up the Suggsverse and all make ourselves look very stupid, but hopefully we can just leave it at this?
>>47420256
I'm not even going to bother arguing about whether they're truly omnipotent or not though, when their casual feats are FAR, FAR beyond anything in the Dresdenverse. Omnipotence is irrelevant when by all means they could beat down absolutely everything shown so far.
>>47420241
The problem is that these beings are a) more powerful than anything in those settings other than the One Above All and b) fully capable of retconning every antagonist in Dresden Files from existence.
The fact that this has not happened is proof that they don't exist.
>>47420256
Also,
>omnipotent within their domain
I absolutely despise those fucking stupid omnipotence arguments that keep cropping up recently but I have to point out that is, by definition, a tautology.
>>47420268
But you also have settings where they point out someone is breaking the laws of physics, which shouldn't be possible even if they are malleable in a deterministic place.
Makes as much sense to me as Supernatural angels claiming they can do the same. They either give a feat, have someone on their level give a feat to scale them to that or they are relegated to boasting and bragging territory like too many heroes and villains to count.
>>47420305
Fun fact, One Above All isn't omnipotent anymore. Recent storyline apparently retconned it.
>>47420146
>anything said to be infinite in scope in any fiction is false
Let's say the Dresdenverse has infinite universes. Let's then map those infinite universes onto even-numbered universes within a greater multiversal set. Are there still an infinite number of Dresdenverse universes? Yes. Does that still leave an infinite number of odd-numbered universes out there that aren't in the Dresdenverse? Yes.
>>47420303
Uh, anon, you said it yourself. _In_ Lovecraft.
>>47420202
In my mind somewhere somewhen countless 'copies' of all those things do exist , and have come into contact with each other. and somewhere somewhen they all exist and HAVEN'T come into contact with each other.
>>47420237
Just to be clear I'm really NOT trying to say that the Dresden Files is the be all and end all of fiction and we should all turn our heads and bow to it. Not at all.
I'm just saying that WOG is that the fictional and self-contained universe that the Dresden Files creates is infinite. The way the universe, that is unique to that book series and that book series alone, contains every possibility. Because that's how the universe is structured.
I'm not saying that when you watch Civil War, that the movie takes place within the Dresden Files - I'm saying that somewhere in the Dresden Files there's a piece of of the multi verse that looks exactly like the movie.
I'd say the same thing about DC, or even pieces of DC (the Dreaming, for instance, I imagine as containing the Dresden Files. Or, rather, something that *looks* exactly like the Dresden Files).
>>47420327
Oh fuck me, I remember-that stupid Lucifer sequel comic right? Regardless, his feat of predicting everything DC!Lucifer was going to do is still pretty damn impressive considering DC!Lucifer stood at the epicenter of his brother's power going out of control-and that power was enough for him to build a multiverse as big as the one the One created all by himself with a bit of effort. Making him the kind of reality warper that would make Timelords sit up and pay attention at the very least.
And yeah-Supernatural angels may or may not have weird conceptual powers over reality given what Gabriel showed, but in raw energy output the two strongest archangels clashing cap out at busting half a planet. Half. Not even a whole planet. That means Frieza technically hits harder even fi he can't do everything they can.
Oh, and God!Castiel specifically said he was still concerned about Michael in the Cage after attaining his power when talking to Crowley.
>>47420360
>In my mind
Alright, show's over folks. He's just admitted he's making bullshit up.
>>47420346
How about let's not and acknowledge we just don't know enough about DF's conflict yet to make the grand hubris of bringing mathematics into a setting where magic is canonical.
>>47420376
To be fair to the angels - they weren't trying to destroy the planet. Any damage done would be completely incidental. Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to avoid destroying the planet.
This head canon, of course, doesn't prove that they could break the planet, or that they're otherwise any stronger than they've shown themselves to be. It just leaves the door open to it if you're into that.
>>47420346
>>47420360
So why hasn't VB Demonbane come and destroyed all of Dresdenverse then? He canonically destroys all but one universe out of the infinite universes and multiverses. If he's part of the Dresden Files setting, and he is by what you say, then his story should have resulted in the destruction of everything there. The only way he doesn't is if he's not part of that setting or if he's weaker/limited to his own section in which case it's not the same being.
>>47420360
Again, as has been said multiple times, that runs into problems because if it does contain every possibility, then every problem should have already been solved or everything should have been destroyed. Someone earlier was talking about how Supernatural doesn't live up to it's feats and that's a great example to be used here. Dresden Files says this is how the setting works but we can tell from what actually happens that it's impossible for it to work that way.

"We're doing them a favor by removing gravity."
>>47420413
Personally, what I find more damning is that Metatron described the creation of the universe taking time and effort for God to do. If the Big G is in such a sorry state, it doesn't bode well for his kids' power levels.
>>47420415
Ok let me try to help you wrap your head around this.
Just because something is infinite does not mean it is alone and solely by its self. In dresden the other universes can exist because by dresdenverses logic they exist.
In dc they may or may not exist.
Different settings have different rules and just because one encompasses others does not mean the others necesarily encompass it.
>>47420448
Im sorry if this came of as sarcastic as it sounds. I did not mean it to.
>>47420415
Because the Dresdenverse contains every possible universe - emphasis on _possible_. Given the canonical VB Demonbane destroys all the universes and multiverses except one, obviously the Dresdenverse is in anothercastleset of multiverses.
>>47420448
That's great, not really related. VB Demonbane either destroyed everything, as he was stated to, or he destroyed a limited amount of everything, as you state him to do and thus the original setting was wrong. It's either one universe is left out of all of existence or you're wrong.
Dresden Files can say it exists in it's setting all it likes, but by saying that it makes a massive plothole on the level of Supernatural.
>>47420467
Yeah, that'd be nice if it was said earlier in the argument. Before now? It was said to be infinite every time. If it's just every 'possible' universe, then it's definitely not infinite.
>>47420448
>>47420464
For what it's worth, I don't think you're being sarcastic, I just think you're being up your own ass over set theory in terms of trying to justify why a character who is CANONICALLY DOUBLE SUPER OMNIPOTENT in every meaningful would be hindered by a setting where the main antagonists driving the conflict are CANONICALLY hindered by forces MUCH LESS POWERFUL than ELDER GOD or possibly VORTEX DEMONBANE when occam's razor i.e. the DFverse isn't infinite provides a much more sensible explaination.
>>47420467
Yeah, I'm much happier with this. Still stupid in the context of Jumpchain but at least it's not nonsensical.
>>47420467
You mean "obviously the Dresdenverse _that continues to exist_"; the set of Dresdenverses in the VB Demonbane multiversal set are shit out of luck.
>>47420479
Actually, you can have an infinite number of possible universes yet still have room for other universes elsewhere. See the Infinite Hotel Paradox.
>>47420467
Look, you set theory obsessed autists just keep missing the point:
There is nothing in the DF series that has the capacity from stopping the aforementioned VS battle champion from stopping the conflicts from ever having happened, and the thing is a big fan of justice
By asserting it somehow doesn't interfere in the plot at all you just raise more questions than you answer.
>>47420427
...oh geeze. I take it you haven't seen the latest episode wherehe was almost killed by and is currently in critical condition thanks to his own sister AFTER she was beaten down by Lucifer armed with what was implicitly the Spear of Longinus, an army of angels, demons (?) and witches (?!?)
>>47419529My gods, PLEASE make this. I want to touch this novel SOMEHOW.
>>47420523
>>47419529
Please tell me all about whatever that is.
I don't normally condemn people for discussing things, but the leaps in logic people are making in order to justify Vortex Demonbane and the Dresden Files' primary conflict coexisting somehow is making me lose faith in humanity.
>>47420505
>There's still infinite universes left
Then he didn't destroy all but one did he? Your argument, as it has everytime till now, still falls down to saying other settings are wrong in how they interpret things.
>>47420483
Its not even my theory it just makes sense. Im not the anon you were originally talking to either I am only stating that within dresdens universe- dresden universe laws apply.
I do not care about demon bane or what happens in that universe as that is a seperate entity. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
>>47420541
Since you and I are having this conversation, and thus our universe still exists despite not being the one VB Demonbane didn't destroy, obviously he didn't and the other settings are indeed wrong.
The Doylist answer is, of course, that Jim Butcher didn't know anything about Demonbane when Bob made this declaration. I'd love someone to ask him about it, though.
>>47420400
Hey man, we're all bullshitting here. It's in the nature of speculating over fictional works.
>>47420415
I think you're still misunderstanding me (and I want to point out that it isn't just "me" any more. someone or someone's are taking this side of the floor).
Somewhere in the greater Dresdenverse I imagine that the "problems" have been fixed by 'outside' help. And some of them have been made worse. And some (like the story we're reading) don't have any interaction with 'outside' things at all. Because that's how infinity works (or at least, that's how infinity works in this case. There are a lot of different infinities).
And remeber - I'm not saying that other settings exist in the Dresdenverse - I'm saying that pieces of the Dresdenverse looks like other settings, due to pure random chance. Things CAN look that way, so they DO. Somewhere And somewhere else, they don't.
Plus there's the whole possibility of having infinities within infinities. Something that LOOKS like VB Demonbane (in every way something can look like VB Demonbane) could exist and destroy an infinite number of universes without touching the REST of infinity. There just needs to be... a higher level, that this thing-that-looks-exactly-like-Demonbane-but-isn't-Demonbane-for-the-purposes-of-the-chain doesn't interact with.
Again, just want to reiterate, not saying this is the quote unquote REAL Demonbane, just pure random chance manifesting within infinity.
I'm not trying to suggest that Jumpchain is actually a journey through the Dresden Files. There's till a "real" Demonbane out there for you to meet.
Have I cleared that up at all, in any way? Probably not. How about we all just agree to believe separate things about these fictional universes?
>>47420523
>>47420536
It looks fantastic doesn't it? It's been visually described as what would happen if Fate and Hellsing had a baby and story wise as what happens if you mix Fate with Umineko and Exalted. Goes from Magic Nazi's at one end to Hyperversel Hindu-themed Gods having conceptual battles at the other. A mid level character throws tens of thousands of shrunken stars as an attack. By the end people are obliterating multiverses casually and fighting people literally, and I mean they explicitly have a mechanic to show how much more infinitely powerful some guys are, infinitely stronger then them. It's fucking insane and the most wonderfully absurd thing.
The big problem is....none of it's translated. It's a set of 5 visual novels (One of them is Dies Irae, 3 in one universe, 2 in another, sort of.) and they're noted among the translating community for being close to impossible to translate because they are both ridiculously long as well as using the most flowery, magnificent sounding Japanese possible.
The prologue was translated and reading it is like honey for the eyes. https://gareblogs.wordpress.com/2013/09/25/english-translation-dies-irae-amantes-amentes-%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%A8%E3%82%B9-%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AC-prologue/ if you want a gander.
It is also apparently getting an anime, for Dies Irae at least, in 2017.

>>47420572
The argument is in the context of the Dresden Verse claiming to include all other verses. Stop being stupid.
>>47420579
The problem with that- is that Demonbane also acknowledges that. He still won. Not sure you quite understand the level of power wanking that series goes to but it does point out that there are infinite variations of everything. Demonbane can summon them all on his side.
I'd also like to point out that that argument also has gone far beyond the quotes provided (Like, two of them) by the author on this so....it's hard to see where you are getting all of this information. I understand that what you say is the theory for an infinite multiverse, but so far there's been no proof that's the situation in Dresden (Only that it includes Spiderman and Star Wars) and it also doesn't ultimately matter to things like Demonbane who already took that into account.
The big problem I also see with it is that it makes that whole "The Outsiders are threatening all of existence" plot make no sense.
>>47420579
Okay, dude-
>I'm saying that pieces of the Dresdenverse looks like other settings, due to pure random chance. Things CAN look that way, so they DO. Somewhere And somewhere else, they don't.
I can buy something that sort of looks like Spiderman and maybe the Force exiting in the deepest, furthest reaches of the Nevernever, but not anything that can meaningfully oppose Queen Mab because otherwise it would have been enlisted by the Outsiders or their enemies long ago.
Let's agree to disagree there. Because the point of contention lies on
>Something that LOOKS like VB Demonbane (in every way something can look like VB Demonbane) could exist and destroy an infinite number of universes without touching the REST of infinity. There just needs to be... a higher level, that this thing-that-looks-exactly-like-Demonbane-but-isn't-Demonbane-for-the-purposes-of-the-chain doesn't interact with.
being completely and utterly tripe because it would have trivilised the threat of the Outsiders, the Black Council and even Lucifer himself. The fact that this conflict has NOT been triviliased is a good sign to me that Occam's Razor is a much safer asumption, since otherwise an archangel could have just gone to his hometown and said "Hey, EGD? Could you please help us destroy all evil forever with your powers which, regardless of whether they're actually omnipotent or not, are much greater than any of our enemies? I'd like to politely remind you that God created the world and everything in it so as a champion of justice you're kinda obliged to do us a solid here"
Unless you're seriously going to argue that the unknown capabilities of the Outsiders' masters and Lucifer exceed those of anything "vaguely similar" to Demonbane.
>>47420630
>is a good sign to me
Now whos making shit up.
>>47420628
>The big problem I also see with it is that it makes that whole "The Outsiders are threatening all of existence" plot make no sense.
THIS is the real key issue here that autist's choosing to wilfully ignore. I don't think he's actually read the books because there's nothing in that conflict that could stand up to Demonbane's "I win" power or otherwise the people fighting them would've been wiped out long ago.
>>47420630
That's when you start getting into the question of local versus nonlocal laws of physics. Remember that the Nevernever does not function under human laws, and Earth does not function under Nevernever laws. It's possible that Demonbane has unlimited power within its local cluster (that it obliterated), but wouldn't be able to function outside of it. Which, by the way, also explains why Harry isn't getting called to help outside of his Earth. He wouldn't be able to do anything, so why bother?
>>47420659
Explain. He seems perfectly reasonable to me, using actual logic to explain his position as compared to "Well he exists anyway, yes, even though that makes zero sense compared against the rest of the Dresden setting".
>>47420659
Still you. Way to ignore the rest of the post which explains the chief conflict in the book and why your completely unjustified, unconfirmed guessowrk would raise more questions than it answers.
>>47420667
It's possible but you have zero proof of such and it being that way also goes against what Demonbane itself has shown.
>>47420667
>it's possible that Demonbane has unlimited power within its local cluster (that it obliterated), but wouldn't be able to function outside of it. Which, by the way, also explains why Harry isn't getting called to help outside of his Earth.
The problem is, you're assuming this DOES mean DF's physics take precedence over Demonbane's whereas in its' own setting it's explicit that Demonbane's own physics take precedence over EVERY OTHER UNIVERSE'S.
You're making arbitrary and selective assumptions which ignore the canonical examples of Nevernever residents in order to justify what at best is a tenuous hypothesis based on throwaway lines hinting at plot points that haven't been fully explored by the series thus far.
Which is why everything you're asserting is complete bullshit.
>>47420673
As other people have explained repeatadly just because dresdens universe contains other universes does not preclude those universes from not having dresden in them. Earlier the person threw a hissy fit cause someone said in my mind but now they do the same thing.
In dresdens universe according to word of god IN THAT UNIVERSE all the other ones exist somewhere.
This has no bearing on anything in any other universe and does not effect how they work.
Why is.that so hard to understand?
>>47420696
God damn man, each post you do is a slam dunk of logic over autism.
>>47420667
>the question of local versus nonlocal laws of physics
>it's possible
So what you're admitting is you have no actual PROOF to justify your theory, and you're just guessing? Let's clarify this one point right here.
Because is so, it completely invalidates your argument when "I THINK this could be how X works" is your only explanation for how an entire conflict which DOES reach into the Nevernever (the Sidhe interact with it, and before you ask NO-none of them are Demonbane level and neither are their opponents).
>>47420722
>Word of god
Eh, no. At least, not has as been shown so far. We've been given quotes abut Spiderman and Star wars existing, nothing more.
You're also ignoring that people aren't arguing that other universes don't have dresden in them. They're saying that Dresden having all other universes in it makes no logical sense. Like, consistently ignoring it no matter what points people bring up about it. Why is it so hard to pay attention to points that are hard for you to answer?
>>47420696
And you assume demonbanes 0hysics take precidence over all other universes.
In dresden his settings rules and laws take precidence in demonbanes verse demonbanes take precedence.
>>47420752
Except these claims of "Demonbane's power is only in his pocket" are entirely yours. Butcher isn't the one saying that, just you. And he hasn't given any reason why Demonbane shouldn't be able to win the war easily if he does exist in the universe.
>>47420722
>word of god
The problem is, this conflicts with the "word of god" of specific settings such as Exalted, SMT, Demonbane and hell-Tenchi Muyo which explicitly do not have infinite multiverses in them.
Your theory would have merit if Jim Butcher had some abstract, inalienable right to say his statements can override the statements of writers of fictional works he has no involvement with.
Since Mr Butcher is not the God of All Literature (which to be fair, I wouldn't consider him the worst candidate for the position either) I'm taking the position that this statement is ambiguous and subject to clarification in future books because otherwise it directly contradicts other statements for other settings.
Didn't we just have this argument over different sizes of infinity and omnipotence with Azatoth and his lullaby?
>>47420766
You admit that spiderman and starwars can exist yes?
By your logic the force and marvel should be in full force in the dresden books but they arent.
Also newsflash there are more than one person talking here.
>>47420776
Clover, that hasn't been the argument for a whole bunch of posts and even then it was very minor. If you're not keeping up with the argument, please don't butt in and make people explain it up till now.
Just talk about something else. Like say, how are your jumps going? I think I remember you saying you were sick recently?
>>47420773
Ok look this really is not hard to understand.
In dresden universe THIS IS TRUE.
NOT IN ANY OTHER UNIVERSE.
ONLY IN DRESDEN.
dresden may not even exist in other settings but in his settings what he says goes.
>>47420679
>>47420696
>>47420728
Sorry, I'm the Doylist. I'm just playing Watsonian here. But yeah, I have no proof for my claim, because of course I don't. You're never going to see a Nevernever crossover for the simple reason that Jim Butcher doesn't own those copyrights, and even if he did, how can Harry suffer if Superman saves the day? It's all pure speculation, and it will always be pure speculation.
>>47420752
>demonbanes physics take precidence over all other universes
Yes.
That's canonically how his power works.
>in dresden his settings rules and laws take preceidence
This is a leap of logic; even with the ambiguous quote which may or may not exist on Jim's part that the other settings DO exist, you've yet to provide proof the DF universe's metaphysics EXPLICITLY override other settings' metaphysics. Which is also, as I pointed out, a completely invalid statement to make by itself.
>he hasn't given any reason why Demonbane shouldn't be able to win the war easily if he does exist in the universe
THIS. Nobody backing this argument has addressed the paradox of something like Mab beating something like Demonbane. Even making the inane, arbitrary, baseless assumption he can't flat-out trump DF metaphysics the fucker's versatile enough to turn the tide in the war against the Outsiders.
>>47420789
Oh sorry about that. The jumps are ongoing slowly, because my sleep cycle is shot and work piles up, and because my mind wanders when I make the jump and end up working on three at a time in tiny parts. Sunless Sea won't be the next one you guys see due to the size of the lore and making sure it all clicks with the Fallen London one, and making sure it has something different to offer to other jumps.
>>47420793
Anon, just stop. Look, Here's the thing:
>dresden may not even exist in other settings but in his settings what he says goes.
You don't have a quote by Butcher that EXPLICITLY says this is how it works, and you're GOING to need one to justify something as ridiculous as Butters defeating Demonbane through the power of human free will.
>>47420808
We get it you love demonbane can you two stop shitting up the thread now please.
>>47420777
The force doesn't exist in other universes for the same reason the speedforce doesn't exist in Marvel on the rare DC/Marvel crossover. They're fundamental parts of each universe. When a character moves the force doesn't follow with them. But Superman didn't suddenly become a normal human when he crossed to Marvel during crossovers because he doesn't rely on fundamental forces. Newsflash, neither does Demonbane.
And Marvel as a whole? He's only said Spiderman. I'd also like to point you back to the top of the argument where people cast doubts over the spiderman claims.
>>47420808
Look at it in terms of virtual reality. Demonbane is omnipotent within its virtual world - it can do anything, defeat any opponent, shatter the laws of physics as it pleases. But it can't do jack shit against a man with a gun outside of the VR program.
The Nevernever is the real world. Demonbane is the virtual reality. Not literally, but metaphorically, in case that needed clarification.
>>47420822
Because mintberry crunch defeated cthulhu.

>>47420794
Next time, do us all the favor admit you're making things up instead of implying you're asserting unambiguous, absolute statement about a work of fiction that is the intellectual property of a specific author.
>>47420824
It's sad to see you reduced to that after having your argument smashed but also thoroughly satisfying.
>>47420829

I have nothing to do with this argument other than watch two autists gripe.
>>47420808
Then how do we exist anon? Obviously we must all be dead because demonbane destroyed all universes but one and it isn't ours.
>>47420863
I wish you'd just step out of the argument with some level of honour instead of resorting to something so pathetic, especially since this was already shot down earlier.
>>47420824
Believe me, I don't; I'm just using Demonbane as an illustation of the other guy's absurdity to avoid derailing into arguments like "Can YHVH beat up Dresden Files' God?"
>>47420829
>omnipotent within its virtual world
There you go again. That's not what that word means; try "almighty reality warper" for beings that can't affect all of existence at will.
>The Nevernever is the real world. Demonbane is the virtual reality. Not literally, but metaphorically, in case that needed clarification.
The main problem with this statement is that it completely goes against how the Nevernever actually works in the novels. Beings from it CAN affect beings in on Dresden's Earth quite handily; people summon and bind demons from it to kill other wizards, someone summoned a Misfiend from its' furthest reaches in an attempted (read: THWARTED) assassination of the White Council.
Your assertion would imply Demonbane lacks virtually all its' defining powers outside the Nevernever, which is completely wrong given Nevernever residents' powers are not meaningfully diminished by stepping outside of it.
>>47420839
Obviously all I can do is go with what I have. You're just making shit up too, you know. More than me, because you're saying the Author is wrong about his own world. The one thing we do know is that Jim's Word is absolute - if he says something is true in Dresden, then it is true in Dresden. If you're claiming otherwise, you have to back it up with evidence. Not just "I don't think it works this way," but proof that it doesn't.
>>47420844
That's because, like I said here >>47420794 we will never actually see a crossover. All we can do is try to speculate how it works.
>>47420866
No anon hos universe is infinite and he destroyed all others, that was was your assertion so how can any other infinite universe exist? According to your logic it cannot.
>>47420872
You quoted the right person? I don't see how asking for evidence that beings from other settings have their powers limited to their own sections is impossible because there will never be crossovers. In fact, the poster above you seems to quite clearly disprove that argument.
>>47418189

Sounds fun though.
>>47420829
That's not how the Nevernever works, bro. Goblins are a resident of it, and they can wreck havoc just fine on Earth when the Erlking round people up for his Wild Hunts.
Your statement would only make sense if "Demonbane" lacked all of its' associated characteristics because otherwise it would be massively more powerful than beings considered to hold mastery over large segments of the Nevernever like the Erlking and the Sidhe Queens.
Because,
>it can't do jack shit against a man with a gun
is completely wrong about Nevernever entities. Look at the chlorofiend, the Mistfiend, Binder's demons etc. They don't just keel over and die when fighting Earthly natives. They, well, inspired mythological legends.
>>47420872
Important to point out- your absolute word is pretty damn shaky given how vague the two or so quotes we do have from him are.
>>47420875
Wrong, idiot. My logic was that Demonbane destroyed everything in his own universe. You asserted that Demonbane was part of Dresden Files by saying all settings are part of Dresden Files. I then said if he was, he should've destroyed all of Dresden Files as well. You and your side are the only ones who've been claiming all of fiction is in one universe. I've just been one of those who point out what makes that stupid.
>>47420890
Nothing the Mistfiend does contradicts Dresden laws, though. So that's inconclusive.
>>47420912
Reply to the person making that argument.
>>47420872
...my "evidence" takes the form of, you know. Having actually read the books and seen Harry's trips in and out of the Nevernever.
Yours meanwhile is based on an ambiguous statement, the full ramifications of which have not had any meaningful impact on anything, and a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Nevernever interacts with Earth.
Hence why I completely reject your speculations and, again, take the position we simply don't know enough to make such broad, sweeping assumptions at this point.
HEY GUYS
I'M TRYING TO DECIDE ON A HIRELING COMPANION FOR DRAGONLANCE
WHAT RACE SHOULD THEY BE?
>>47420900
But in Earth and Faerie they goblins are susceptible to iron. They aren't in DC Comics. Similarly, Binder's demons don't have to speak in Rhyme.
>>47420938
And this conclusively proves that Demonbane would lose all of it's power outside of it's 'realm' how exactly?
>>47420937
Kender, obviously. Or maybe an Aghar? Very loyal, you know.
But seriously, tell me about your Jumper first. Are you a punchy type or a casty type?
>>47420903
Obviously we can't be here because if we know about demonbane he already destroyed us.
If you havent realized it yet I am not the person you argued with before. I just find your assertion that one setting must bend tto the laws of an outside setting to be stupid and absurd.
As in dresden files its own internal logic should ivercome the logic of whatever subsidiary happens to occur in it. For instance when the flash went to marvel earth he had no powers, we do not start sperging and saying speed force dimension over rules marvel earths internal logic.
>>47420950
Not all of its power. But it would have to exist according to Dresdenverse laws rather than its own.
>>47420938
...I don't see what relevance this has to do with anything.
Dresden goblins aren't meant to be DC Comics goblins.
Binder's demons aren't meant to be DC comics demons.
Just because something's called a demon or a goblin doesn't mean it is intended to be the same type of being referred to as a demon or a goblin in a setting that hasn't crossovered yet. Thats like saying every magical girl in every setting ever was created by Kyuubey.
>>47420937
Elf Slav
>>47420950
Diferent versions of the same thing?
I could have swore I saw a dresden crossover comic somewhere once but I cant recall where.
>>47420959
I can't believe you are this stupid. I'll put it clearly. The Dresden Files universe, the context of this entire argument on every side except it seems your own, is not connected to reality. Nor is Demonbane's universe. If you still can't understand, go to a doctor because you can no longer separate fiction from reality.
>Speedforce example
You do realise Demonbane's power is his own correct? Superman and Martian Manhunter didn't lose their powers when they entered Marvel universe, why would Demonbane lose his? They aren't based on a fundamental force like the flash and speedforce.
>>47420972
Wat do?
>>47420951
Kind of a sciency casty type, I suppose. I like to build things and research magic.
>>47420975
If you remember one you should probably post it, because currently >>47420969 explains why your example was a poor one. You're asserting that Dresden Files' goblins and demons are completely analoguous to DC ones which is absurd, like saying Saitama is meant to be the exact same thing as Superman.
>>47420937
You need an elf apprentice to bully. But seriously please don't bully elves. They cop enough shit in the leadup to christmas.
>>47420962
So you're changing your theory to be "All settings exist within Dresden Files, but they are all reduced to an appropriate power level?" then? It seems like you are making more and more up on your own and still having zero supporting quotes from Butcher himself.
>>47420991
So the reality in the books can be overcome by your sweaty manlove over demonbane but it exempts all other settings or universes because you say so. Nice.
The point was, AGAIN: in dresden files Dresden logic applies.
If you cannot get that through your head maybe you should pull it out of your ass.
>>47421024
Like I said, all we know is that it works. The specifics are speculation and guesswork, given that the only way to actually know the answer is ask Jim at a convention, or Jump the setting. If you don't like he fact that I'm speculating, then maybe there's no point in us talking.
>>47421037
Not him, but again with the misconceptions:
1. You do not have a quote that explicitly asserts DF logic trumps that of other settings.
2. The Nevernever is not, like how someone else asserted, a VR-like area whose inhabitants are completely helpless on Earth. Plenty of beings from it regularly invade Earth, and do not have their power sapped or diminished like how you are speculating Demonbane-analogue's would be.
>>47420628
One scenario, as it exists in my head, is that there are bounded infinites, and beings within them can’t interact with the things above them. Sort of like how I see the chain as a whole, actually, but self-contained in one setting, with the top layer being the Dresden Files rather than the True Reality of the chain (with all the limits that implies).
So this fascimile!Demonbane is interacting within a complete multiverse, but that complete multiverse has things above it (or beside it, potentially. But that’s getting into semantics) that it’s inhabitants can’t “reach up” to, or see. Which, yes, doesn’t quite match the powerwanking from our privileged point of view – but from the other side of the glass it *appears* to.
Hell, step through that piece of glass into that multiverse and you could experience any number of things because, again, infinity, so limitless Demonbane wannabes). They could range in power from all powerful within their inconceivably huge domain, to a teeny tiny demonbane in a teeny tiny multiverse.
And, yes, somewhere out here in the chain the “true” Demonbane (or “a” Demonbane, or however you want to look at the metaphysics behind the chain) is destroying his reality utterly and complelty, with no top layer beyond the chain (or, again, however you look at chain metaphysics – let’s not open that can of worms. This is more than enough).
Framed this way, it’s easy enough to fit the outsiders into the puzzle. They’re outside the “top layer” so to speak. They can (presumably, there are still a lot of open question about the Outsiders) destroy the Dresdenverse. This wouldn’t impact any other setting in the chain.
>>47421041
The worst part is he seems to be under the illusion that everyone on 4chan is the same person, which is rather unhealthy.
A rare point of somewhat useless self awareness from anon.
We know they'll keep talking.
Boredom is a hell of a drug.
>>47421037
>>47421041
So Dresden Files logic applies. Let's say it does. Explain why that changes anything? Does it make them massively (And by massively we're talking nearly infinitely so) weaker then their original incarnations? Because unless it does, we go back to the previous arguments of why this war against the outsiders isn't a complete joke.
>>47421064
>gone far beyond the quotes provided
Fair. In my defense there are other quotes out there, that I couldn’t find and /or didn’t look for, which I’m forming my speculations off of. And it is ultimately just speculation and a certain amount of “what-if?” which I’m just bouncing around. Not expecting anyone to change their minds, or even expecting them to.>>47420630
>deepest, furthest reaches of the Nevernever
There are also “proper” parallel realities out there which we won’t get a proper look at till book 17. Jim’s talked about them, to a certain extent. (Again, don’t have quotes handy).
>enlisted by the outsiders or their enemies
> trivilised the threat of the Outsiders, the Black Council and even Lucifer himself
C’mon, I’m sure you could imagine a creative work around without making ME do it. The first and most obvious one is the whole “infinite realities and in some of them Demonbane (or whoever) did help, and in others they exacerbated the problem and in others there was no interaction”. Plus there’s interplay with what I just wrote up above.
The thing about accepting infinite possibilities where all of them are true is that Occam’s Razor breaks down, from the outside. It’s a useful tool inside, sure, it let’s you see where you most likely stand. But when you’re looking at the whole thing even the most implausible possibility is repeated infinitely.
>>47421062
What makes you think that other settings logic should trump dresden logic in dresden files universe? That is just nonsenisical.
>>47421065
Mate. You're more or less doing the exact same thing with that "he".
>>47420999
Hmm. Well, you have two options. The first is someone who compliments you well, either in the magic field, or the tinker field. I wouldn't wish a tinker gnome on anyone, but they just might be useful to you. If not, maybe an Irda scholar? You could make them a Mystic so they can access a form of magic you can't.
The other option is a contrast - someone to help you out in the areas you're not good at. A tough sort who's good at defending you, or a sneaky sort who's good at getting you into locked up areas. For the former I'd suggest a Minotaur. Dragonlance Minotaurs are strong, tough, and brutal, but also extremely honorable, and won't break their word unless their species is on the line. For thieves? Probably an elf of human, or some combination thereof. The classic thief race is gone, their position borrowed indefinitely by Kender, so you make do with what you have.
>>47420951
how do you count Paladins? Because I'm a sword and board tank but I also have a lot of ability to heal others and a chunk of spellcasting even if I'm not spec'd towards it, also I do a lot more science than magic, plus both my sword and my shield have projectile weapon modes and I have a fair amount of speed and reflexes so I'm also gun-fu. The thing about being a late game Jumper is that you fit into so many boxes simultaneously that it's hard to put you in any of them properly.
>>47421072
The same reason God doesn't solve all problems for everyone ever maybe? Probably because butcher doesnt know who the fuck demonbane is? Nestled infinities maybe?
>>47421064
Cute. You only introduce more problems as well as further destroy your original argument. If the Outsiders are above everything in DF, why haven't they already won in an instant? If there are beings capable of fighting them, are those beings also above everything in DF despite taking part in the stories? Or are they able to fight despite not being able to destroy the whole of DF by themselves?
And the most important question, if beings that aren't beyond all of DF can fight them, why haven't beings like Demonbane that exist in DF fighting alongside them and effortlessly winning?
>>47421074
>>47421064
I don't see the point in continuing this discussion. Things have broken down to the point where you're basically telling everyone about how you imagine things work and admitting you don't have all the answers, and me explaining why some of your assumptions are completely off-kilter and others are hypotheses that haven't been fully explained by the series yet.
I'm not going to tell you to shut up because that's impossible over the internet, but I am telling you there's nothing productive to be gained from this unless you enjoy antagonising everyone with your wilfull ignorance of the setting's major conflict and how self-absorbed you are with your own imagination.
>>47421081
I'm not and have never said it does, I'm saying that YOUR assumption that DF setting's logic should trump others is completely unjustified. There's a difference between saying something doesn't work and asserting something does.
>>47421074
In infinite realities, there should be good outsiders fighting against the bad ones. It makes no sense and there's no proof of it being that way in Dresden Files so I don't know why you've been using it as the basis for your argument so far.
>>47421109
Except that goes against Demonbane's motivations. You haven't had a problem going far beyond what Butcher has said up till now, but you suddenly want to use a meta reason like that as an argument? Get out already. No proof, been told there's no proof of such many times by now.
>>47421106
In that case, either go for a specialist to shore up an area you're lacking in, or a generalist who can compliment your general ability. I'd suggest a thief or cleric for you, Bancho - you're really bad at understanding actions have consequences, so someone streetwise and savvy or just plain wise and patient is ideal for you.
Sharkface is a pimp.

>If the Outsiders are above everything in DF
Who said anything about the Outsiders being at the top of the food chain, power wise?
>why haven't beings like Demonbane
Perhaps because of all the reasons listed earlier.
>>47421103
Kender is definitely off the table. But still, those are all things to consider. I hadn't even thought of a Minotaur. Thanks, anon!
>>47421136
>thief or cleric
I'm pretty sure if he tried his hand at those he'd be completely ostracised and shunned by the thief/cleric community on general principle.
>>47421150
See anon's statement here >>47421129
If you're going to do nothing but give unsupported theories, just stop talking. You can't convince people of anything when you've admitted you're making shit up.
>>47421129
I never said dresden files logic should trump any other universes logic. I said dresden files logic should rule dresden files. If another setting shows up in dresden files then for whatever reason I would expect it to have its own workings to follow the internal logic of the setting.
Other settings need not bow to dresden unless inside dresden. If harry showed up in DCU for example I wouldn't expect him to be able to summon mother winter exactly the same as before, however if he DID use his magic I would expect there to be a reason in universe for why it works or does not work.
>>47421134
Just because there are infinite realities doesn't mean that something will inevitably be true in one of them. Ignoring the fact that one can roll a die an infinite number of times and never get a 6, there are some things that simply cannot happen: square circles, cold heat, colorless colors. Good outsiders may be among them.
>>47421178
Again, why does dresden files logic suddenly neuter Demonbane? I've yet to recieve an explanation that isn't a made up theory or random gibberish.
>>47421150
You're just ignoring the fact that a lot of the reasons were based on assumptions about the Nevernever like beings from it being depowered on Earth being completely wrong, though.
Also I refuse to dignify your speculartory fever dream, but you should understand the Outsiders explicitly have masters. They're the beings kept starved of worship and belief by the other side of the Oblivion War, because those things grant them power.
>>47421188
Why does Demonbane logic trump DF?
>>47421186
Except all the arguments so far that state there are infinite realities have gone on and on about how anything is possible. if you make an argument, stick to it.
Besides, funny you mention 'unique' things like square circles. Demonbane is just one of those unique things. At the very least EGD and VB demonbane are.
>>47421188
Nobody knows. But it does, because Demonbane exists in the Nevernever and yet has not destroyed all of reality.
>>47421198
Look, you're not doing yourself any favors by repeating the same statement ad nauseum when most people are focused on a different argument entirely.
You're the one asserting Demonbane or an analogue thereof exists in the context of Dresden Files; the onus is on you to prove DF is capable of bringing it down to its' level when canonically that's not what it does to beings from the Nevernever.
>>47421188
Why are you choosing demonbane over something that could more easily be explained? I am not saying why or why not he would have his powers neuterred I am saying that in dresden if there existed a demonbane analog I would expect there to be a reason for why it has not destroyed the world. Im not Jim Butcher so I can't answer for him. I can only guess at reasons why it would not work or would work you or others are the ones screaming that even though it is mentioned that other verses can have analogs withing the far reaches of dresden that dresden verse should be destroyed by demonbane.
>>47421154
He's asking for a hireling, not becoming a cleric or thief. They'd probably assign him one of their members who'd fucked up so badly that execution was too good for them.
>>47421227
Oh right, I keep Bancho filtered so my mistake. I feel sorry for the poor bastard assigned to him already.
>>47421221
Actually, that was my first post ITT. In all honesty, I don't give a flying fuck about this argument, I just really don't like "why is X more powerful than Y? Because X said so"
>>47421221
Wrong. Because we know it exists in Dresdenverse, and we know it isn't the end-all-be-all of the war against the outsiders. Therefore, we know it is reduced somehow, and all that's left is to understand how.
Unless it is the main weapon against the Outsiders, and all of Harry's struggles are just about warding off one of their side attacks on reality while the big guy deals with the main force.
>>47421246
So you finally admit that all settings do not exist within Dresden Files, only pale imitations of them? Thank fuck we can finally end this argument. I wish people just stopped when someone gave the reason that only 'possible' settings existed in it.
>>47421262
No, it still exists within reality. It's just reduced outside of its local cluster.
>>47421272
Again, we come back to this. Give some proof that this is how it works or stop talking.
>>47421262
You just love your omnipotence fallacy don't you.
>>47421293
What?
>>47421246
>we know it exists in Dresdenverse
You and I have already agreed to disagree on taking an isolated statement by Jim to be absolute and all-encompassing. Well, I agreed at least. Not sure if you were listening.
>Unless it is the main weapon against the Outsiders, and all of Harry's struggles are just about warding off one of their side attacks on reality while the big guy deals with the main force.
I know you're just being fatetious because a twist that stupid would kill Jim's fanbase faster than anything.
>>47421272
Also, please don't pretend your "local cluster' theory has any grounding in canon.
>>47421241
That's fair enough. People mainly bring up DB in order to avoid arguments over raw powerlevels for beings with more ambiguous powers in order to compare feats instead.
>>47421284
I think it's futile at this point; he's already admitted in >>47420794 he's making things up deliberately.
>>47421284
Give me some proof that it is not how it works. Im not even that anon I just find your demonbane wank apalling.
>>47421293
Are you stupid or just completely unaware? Demonbane isn't omnipotent. He is however completely beyond the power of anything in Dresden Files except maybe God, if he turns out to be omnipotent.
>>47421307
Wrong, not how it works. I'd say try again but I think at this point you're honestly just salty because you continually cite things with zero proof despite multiple posts asking for you to either give proof or just stop.
>>47421304
>You and I have already agreed to disagree on taking an isolated statement by Jim to be absolute and all-encompassing. Well, I agreed at least. Not sure if you were listening.
I don't agree. Reality is that thing that doesn't go away because we close our eyes and pretend it isn't there. Word of God is canon unless disproved by subsequent word of God or events of the book, so reality is that Demonbane exists in Dresden. Therefore, the question is how it exists in Dresden. All we can do is speculate on this front, but pretending it doesn't is ignoring reality.
So let me see if I have this right one side says dresden has multiple infinite universes which may have copies of other settings in them based on something said by a main character.
And the other side wants to say that is impossible because demonbane exists in a setting.
Why are these things exclusive? Why can't dresden still have it but maybe for whatever reason this demon thing just is not a part of this setting?
>>47421307
The Misfiend, described as being from the furthest reaches of the Nevernever, invades the White Council's headquarters and start slaughtering wizards. It is not described as diminished in any way, shape or form and it is only barely defeated by the greatest wizards working together.
Happy?
>>47421339
Well, we're agreeing to disagree now because I find it pointless and inane to discuss something that could easily be retconned in the future.
>>47421327
So why doesn't god solve all the problems in dresden then? Obviously god doesn't exist in dresden! He must not exist or he would have solved all the problems!
>>47421354
How do the white council know this? Do they flat out say the mistfiend is at full power?
>>47421341
Because in its' own setting Demonbane is able to manipulate, traverse and destroy an infinite multiverse
And DF has a capital-G God who created everything.
So it would raise the question of why God hasn't done anything about something that can potentially destroy all of existence when Lucifer IS a thing and he's apparently in Hell.
>>47421339
>Speculate
You know that quote from Princess Bride? The one about words and meaning and you being a fucking idiot? Yeah. All you've done is endlessly push one theory despite acknowledging you have no proof and despite much more reasonable theories that still fit all the evidence you have being posted.
>>47421341
The first side has no proof of it's claims aside from two statements they've wanked bloody. The second side claims that because if it doesn't exist in that setting, then the first claim, which is already wanked, is wrong because it doesn't include everything.
Which is why I loved that anon posting all 'possible' universes theory earlier that SHOULD HAVE solved the argument.
>>47421364
One of 'em identified it as such.
Wizards in the Dresden Files never "flat out" say things like that because the simple fact is-leaving the Nevernever does NOT diminish beings from it at all. Goblins? Still just as vicious. Sidhe? Can still do magic.
Nobody says it because the issue to which it pertains does not exist.
>>47421304
>he's already admitted
Just want to point out that there's more than one person on both 'sides' of the debate
Or at least there was - I'm so sick of this line of discussion it;'s not even funny. Can we all just agree that it's a fictional world we're independently constructing in our heads and we're all right?
Or we can expand the argument. Start talking about the Sandman's Dreaming, or Doctor Who's Omniverse or the Void Lucifer found when he left Creation. We can expand the argument until it consumes everything. Sure, no-one will agree and nothing will be resolved, but wouldn't the fire be spectacular?
>>47421356
God doesn't have a prexisting motivation to solve all problems, that's a common theme. Both demonbanes do- EG Demonbane fights for justice, that's why he would fight against the Outsiders if he could. VB Demonbane wants to destroy everything. Try again you cretin.
>>47421373
Im sorry but I do not see what the lucifer thing really has to do with this?
>>47421391
Weirdly, people already brought up things like what Lucifer found beyond creation earlier.
>>47421391
I know there's more than one person, I was specifically addressing the smug shit who goes all LOL DOYALIST NOT WATSONIAN when called on his bullshit.
No, we cannot when one side has admitted 1. they have no proof, 2. they do not understand how the setting works and 3. they're theorising based off isolated and ambiguous statements by the author with no further justification.
I would have settled for agreeing to disagree, but for whatever reason that faggot seems to be in love with his own theory.
>>47421405
It shows that if something like Demonbane had existed, God or his archangels would have done something about it given it's at least as dangerous.
>>47421393
Then obviously the answer is because both demonbanes found each other and are currently fighting.
>>47421429
I thought the reason lucifer was in hell was because he directly made war upon heaven? Ah well whatever. Thanks.
>>47421450
Except no, because VB is just the next evolution of EG. They can summon infinite variations of themselves that can be anything (A demonbane made of cheesos is perfectly possible) that are all on it's side though.
>>47421409
Yes, but did he find DEMONBANE!?No I take it back. I'm sorry.
>>47421464
He didn't find the Nevernever for sure.
>>47421464
No because demonbane would have killed god.
>>47421463
Dresden demonbane must be the lazy fuck evolution then.
>>47421477
Technically...yeah, he probably would have killed The Presence if it was Vortex Blaster demonbane. Not sure on how Elder God would react to him.
>>47421485
Please just stop. Please. It's embarassing.
>>47421492
That would also put the shin megami yhvh in the same category of lazy fucks though and iirc he is just crazy.
>>47421462

I mean, that's
That's kind what happens when you declare war on heaven, man?
You get dunked on by God. Or Michael. And THEN booted from Heaven.
That's.
That's how it works.
>>47421492
Given EGD was apparently unable to fight Yog-Sothoth or Azathoth, but VD can apparently beat up the latter I'd put better odds on VD
Also now the arguments are winding down we should probably just...pretend they never happened. Because holy fuck, this is a bloody embarrassing part of JC history
>>47421514
No, I mean that EG might not have a reason to fight him. VB definitely does, but EG is...technically the good guy.

Imma be honest, this conversation makes it sound like trash.
>>47421549
