Wow you're such a dumb faggot you even copied the last threads Edition and saved its picture.
Why so bad newfag?
>>47220903
but the image isnt the same xDDDDDDD
>>47220922
Oh its older, was it two generals ago then?
Either way you are the same faggot that always shits up these threads. Your xDDD gives you away all the time.
>>47220950
you're the one calling other people mean names anon.
Anyone else feel Lords Of War like the Stompas and Heirophant should be around 400-500 points each?
>>47220968
Absolutely yes to the heirophant, add the heirodule to the list of tyranids things to be improved. Don't know stompa stats but most likely
>>47220965
Not other people, just you, and at this point I wouldn't consider you a person.
If you're gonna post a new fucking general at 350 to be a shit and split discussion, at least get the most up to date meme image, you cunt pail.
>>47220968
Dunno, but LoW slots need to be limited to apocalypse, no squads, and only 1 allowed per 1000 points.
>>47221006
I'm a different person anon. How do you not know how to read the poster count?
Can I just ask one question:
Who cares what is in the OP image?
He could draw a dick in MSPaint and I wouldn't mind
>>47221026
1st it can be spoofed
2nd how autistic are you to pay attention to the poster counter
>>47221053
well when you're claiming I'm someone else, you probably should check the poster count, when there are only 3 people in the thread at the time. It's only courtesy friend.
>>47221011
>doesn't post most up to date version
0/10 effort
>>47221042
People that can't type "40k" into the catalogue, and instead prefer to visually scan 150 images for the one they're looking for.
>>47221011
This is the only image that should be used until something comes along that gets added to the image. Until then, no wallpapers, no "improvement" edits that remove shit, and no outdated images.
>>47221078
>most up to date version
>Posts the one with the Tau face reverted from the sprue face
Stay delusional Tau faggot.
>>47221105
>reverted
>meaning changed
>meaning more current than your pic
Honestly, are you even trying anymore?
>>47221088
Its more then that faggot. The Image has history unlike you. Go back to Dakka or Faggotseer.
>Only 81 posts till we can talk about 40k again
I remember when I thought the retarded fight about the op image was just going to be a day long joke.
>>47221121
>Taking steps back
>Moving forward
You know, back in the day we had shitposters that actually made decent bait that wasn't half assed straw arguments.
>>47221140
You and me both friend.
So what army do you enjoy playing lately?
I moved fromImperial Guardto Ultramarines and have been having a blast. I have a demi company and a few auxiliaries but it is a much more durable and forgiving play style than IG.
>>47221128
>The image has history
When did we start using it anyway? It wasn't THAT long ago.
>>47221021
This, if we make the cheep LOW's like ghazzy a HQ or elite choice.
>>47221128
No, why dont you? No one cares about the "history" of your faggoty memes. Go somewhere where you can upvote or some shit chiknposter
>>47221231
Waaaaah mommy the mean kwids on 4chan wont let me have my special clubhouse
How do you motivate yourself to paint?
>>47221156
>Oh boy, you know he's lost when it's calling it bait
Uh huh. Please revert your argument to one that makes sense.
holy shit are we serious folks
who gives a fuck what the general image is, as long as it's immediately recognizable?
Christ, I miss when bitching about CSM was the worst these threads had.
>>47221252
I'm not your mommy you stupid, cock gurgling faggot.
You have to be 18+ to post here you know.
>>47221255
Usually some epic music. I'll play 2stepsfromhell and some Exciter while I'm painting/assembling
>>47221255
I either set small goals and try to hammer our point values out in a reasonable time.
OR
I randomly get the urge to paint tons of minis even though it might just be one of the main colors done on all of them.
>>47221255
the only motivation I need is taking pics and posting my shit on /wip/ for either small praise, high criticism, or getting completely ignored.
>>47221287
Don't acknowledge him, you don't want his cancer.
>>47221042
The tards that give a shit what the general image is are just as bad as the ones changing it just to troll the tards.
>if you give a shit enough to argue about the image, kill yourself
>>47221255
Imagine the scheme.
Make a mental plan of how you're going to paint the scheme of the model.
>Start with the largest areas of the model, making it more satisfying to accomplish, motivating you further
>>47221255
Looking at my grey tide of orks and being a shit painter realising the only way I'm gonna get better is by painting 100 Boyz
Anyone got the new FAQ? Also, the ork decurion rules?
>>47221255
I want to play with fully painted models
I want to play this model
>>47221021
That would bog down apocalypse games.
Also, it would likely invalidate at least one army and make it questionable if having a Lord Of War is worth it when chances to use it would be sparse and somewhat limited.
>>47221327
This is good too. Since I started my Necrons I am picking up my pace with them just to see the finished product.Even if I paint like shit.
>>47221348
Ew, Dark Angels.
>>47221128
>/40kg/ image has history
wow bro
>>47221347
>Anyone got the new FAQ?
Google does you lazy piece of shit. Though I believe someone had a pdf of them that you could actually highlight. Check the way-back-machine.
>Also, the ork decurion rules?
If it isn't in the OP by now I would imagine Google has that for you too. It was leaked and discussed a bunch.
>>47221171
I could never understand Ultrasmurf players. The whole chapter is so boring, bland, vanilla safe that it leaves no impression, there's nothing interesting to build your army around other than "They're the best smurfs at smurfing."
>>47221348
He meant "Wew! Dark Angels"
>>47221356
Jesus fuck what did you do to that poor thing
>>47221397
every army has something to complain about. what do you play anon?
>>47221397
They weren't always that bad. It just happens to be GW's goto protagonist for the Imperial side. Now that GW is aimed at young kiddies and how sensitive moms are, they toned down alot of the lore and made it more "kid friendly"
>>47221397
I always liked Roman history growing up so that is one of my bigger draws to them.
Personally not a fan of the "Better/Holier than Thou" attitude.
The fluff is what you make it.
>>47221356
It's not that its bad.... You did an okay job at what you painted, its just very... bland. You need to watch tutorials on youtube and add different painting techniques to your toolbox.
>>47221422
Had my way with it of course, as I will with the rest of the Dynasty.WIP pic of my royal court, it only gets worse with the warriors.
>>47221427
CSM.
Inb4 they're just spiky marines
>>47221472
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/THIN_YOUR_PAINTS
>>47221128
>The Image has history
It's only about a year old at best you newfag.
>>47221078
For the tenth time. Lower right corner, fuckwit. Genestealer cultist.
I don't give a fuck about your opinion of chicken or spruefacetau. You want to leave them out, fine. But don't fuck over the cultist because you're too goddamned lazy to actually UPDATE an image and instead simply go backwards.
>>47221502
it actually looks too thin to me, like he didn't use a base color before using a layer color. It needs a gold base like Balthazar gold for the golds. It would also look better without that blue wash over everything.
>>47221502
I sprayed them all with Army Painter Platemail and gave them a healthy serving of Guilimans blue glaze. My problem was that my paints that I got second hand were "old" and I was thinning them..... wrong. The damage is done for my orikan star but maybe mynext army stands a chance
>>47221535
>Update
>all I do is search old generals
>must be hard
I'm no artist, contact the drawfag if you want a change
>>47221569
Metallics can be a bit of a sod to thin correctly, to be fair.
>>47221585
The drawfag can't draw. Also, the image already exists. Its just shitty edits that keep pushing it off to the side.
>>47221594
So I have noticed. I am using gold, bronze, copper and three different silver/steels.
>>47221569
At least you're not using grays, I'd play against those horrors over bland gray everywhere any day.
Rolled 82 (1d100)
>>47221356
The painting itself doesn't look bad, but that large brown area spoils the model. Looks really out of place by iteself.
>>47221350
>Also, it would likely invalidate at least one army and make it questionable if having a Lord Of War is worth it when chances to use it would be sparse and somewhat limited.
Sorry, I misspoke.
Limited to apocalypse OR 1 per 1000 points, not both.
>>47221630
Thats the goal, mate.
>>47221633
Thanks, I didn't want to use too much bronze but seeing it on your image changed my mine, helps the gold stand out a bit more.
>>47221666
Happy to help, Satan.
>>47221356
>>47221633
Why those colours?
That has to be one of the worst choices I could think of.
A bright orange and blue with bronze and gold.
I can't even.
>>47221502
>https://1d4chan.org/wiki/THIN_YOUR_PAINTS
Jesus Christ the pictures at the bottom are hilarious.
>>47220893
So as a new player, what are good tactics against Necrons? I'm playing Grey Knights and they way I figured was just get in close as quick as possible so they can't shoot the fuck out of me.
>>47221848
Keep fire at whatever dangers your units the most and keep your focus on objectives.
>>47221848
Deepstrike in and cleansing flame as much as you can while spitting out psycannon shots.
>>47221848
In essence, yes. I2really hurts, even if they aren't Tau bad in melee. GK can get Knights as allies right? D-weapons completely negate RP so that's a reliable way of killing high priority Crons.
You're going to have a rough time as GK though regardless the matchup though, barring Orks or something.
Who are the psykers whose souls get fed to the emperor to sustain him?
Just random prisoners?
>>47221356
Throw so easy washes on there anon and boy you got a stew!
>>47221923
Psykers who fail training but don't turn into demons.
>>47221936
I don't understand.
Why a stew?
It still needs a wash and the weapons aren't done yet.
Have been trying to decide if I should use agrax or nulin to wash, especially the pattern lines.
>>47221914
>>47221895
>>47221864
I don't have a Knight unfortunately, but I do have two dreadknights, a dreadnought, and the usual shit like BC Stern, Draigo, a strike squad, and terminators. I was just gonna get in close and beat the shit out of them as fast as possible. But this will be the second time I have ever played.
I appreciate the advice though, I'll keep it in mind.
>>47221923
http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Black_Ships
Not only the ones that fail at training but also the ones not worth training.
>>47221988
And the format on that post was totally fucked up. My bad. Please accept this pic of one of my minis as penance
Another thing to note about RP, Instant Death makes it worse. It's not quite as good as completely negating it, but 4+ to a 5+ might make the difference
Or even 5+ to 6+ if your opponent is gracious enough to not use Decurion.
>>47222044
>Please accept this pic of one of my minis as penance
>3264x1836
Interesting way to represent a force weapon, show the broad side?
What would be the best way to outfit a Daemon Prince for getting in close and fighting Tau? I'm thinking mark of Nurgle to survive S10 weapons perhaps.
>>47222099
>thinking cover will help against Tau
Maybe Tzeentch instead, wings for spead, could do armour, probably max level psyker, weapons are up to you.
>>47222077
Not my paint job. I'm buying them off of a co-worker and not all of them are painted. I have like 12 minis right now.
He has another probably 100 GK minis that he is selling me, plus 3 Knights.
>>47222133
*speed
Where do half eldar come from?
>>47222099
Black Legion supplement for Eternal Warrior Skull, Black Mace, Wings, ML3, Spell Familiar, roll everything on Biomancy for Iron Arm and maybe Warp Speed.
Almost 400 points, but if this puppy makes it into melee, something is going to die.
>>47221840
>I cant tell if Sanguinius is supposed to have a beard, or if he's vomiting
>>47222157
They don't come from anywhere because they don't exist outside of degenerate animays
If they did though where do you think they could possibly be from?
>half eldar
gee what could the other half be?
>>47222165
You cant take the skull and the mace. FAQ sas just 1 relic per HQ.
>>47222157
A good chainsword swing.
>>47221255
Every Tuesday and Wednesday night there are these two pain group in my local Nerd Bar.
They pick a table, paint together, drink something, socialize.
Since I'm friend with both I just choose one or the other. Painting with other people is more fun.
>>47222224
Preach.
>>47222252
>I wrote Pain Group instead of Paint Group
>That's a mistake
>Pain Group is every two Sunday.
>>47222175
That's a Sons of Horus Nurgle angel.
So, if Chosen of Chaos are supposedly so highly favored by the dark gods and "equipped with the finest wargear their warband can provide", why don't they get access to Cult weapons like Plague Knives and Sonic Blasters? Clearly it's not because they're Undivided, given they can take specific Marks.
>>47222224
>>47222252
>Every Tuesday and Wednesday night there are these two pain group in my local Nerd Bar.
>they pick a table, paint together, drink something, socialize.
>socialize.
>Nerd Bar.
Yep, sounds like a pain group.
>>47222287
I think Chosen occupy a position just below the "Cult Marines" proper or haven't fully dedicated themselves to one God proper yet, hence why they aren't found in possession of weapons normally associated with said God.
>>47221988
>ONE dreadnought
boring
>>47222287
>why don't they get access to Cult weapons
because cults are insular and don't share their toys
>>47222287
If non-Cult units had access to Cult-specific weapons, what would be the point of bringing Cult units? Especially Noise Marines or Rubrics, who are defined by their Sonic Blasters/Inferno Bolts rather than especially meaningful statlines or special rules.
You want a fluff explanation? Cult units represent the absolute most devoted, fanatical adherents to their God. They aren't going to share their equipment with anyone who isn't willing to go to the lengths they have.
>>47221255
I reread the new FAQ and find out about how my primed transports are useless and my allied army has been nerfed to Ork levels of bad...and this is my punishment for trying to have a fun, fluffy list and not be a WAAC shitfuck.
Oh wait, you said motivate...fuck. I go paint Malifaux minis because it's a playable game and Wyrd actually gives a shit.
>>47221356
What the ACTUAL fuck were you thinking with this color scheme?
Down syndrome? Colorblindness? Regular blindness?
>Let's have some nice big silver areas
Sure man, why not, it's a nice neutral color, looks good on most models, it's-
>And then one big fucking BROWN area really brown that shit up
Well now you're adding a highly saturated color color alongside a desaturated color (gray), that's going to add a LOT of contrast to your model, are you sure you like those two side by si-
>And some fucking blue! Electric goddamn blue aLL UP IN the goddamn silver
Wait wait what? You've adding blue-orange contrast to a model that's already got high contrast in saturation? That's going to make the model really visually confused, why not stick with a black or dark gray that doesn't clash with the silver, or maaaaaaybe a really dark blue that's similar in value to the brown might be able to work if yo-
>ORANGE FUCKING ORANGE OH GOD YES
Seriously dude? You've got three different types of contrast going on (arguably four), and now you want to add a fifth? I mean, if it was a dark orange that was a similar value to the brown, again, that could be alright, but it's such a light value that now the whole model is a fucking eyesore.
This is what you've fucking done. This model is a goddamn crime against humanity. Judgement like yours is how Tom Kirby ended up in charge of GW.
>>47222252
>Nerd Bar.
Jelly. Whenever my friends do something nerdy in the beer garden, we get normies who stop to stare.
>>47222215
>They don't come from anywhere because they don't exist
Except in the Ultrasmurfs.
>>47222218
It's not official yet ;^)
Also it's fucking dumb, if it does become official, Daemon Princes will seriously be unplayable. Without Eternal Warrior they die too easily and without a proper weapon they can't do enough to warrant the points.
Other than spam daemon summons i guess.
>>47222363
>implying the Emperor's most devoted would touch even half an alien without a weapon in hand
>>47222348
>Judgement like yours is how Tom Kirby ended up in charge of GW.
Listen fucker, no matter how bad that paintjob was, we don't mention HIS name around here. You have quite literally called this guy worse then Hitler just because of his paint job.
>>47222389
I was actually just about to post that he went too far, glad I wasn't the only one...
>>47222384

>>47222165
If I inflict multiple wounds with the Black Mace does my enemy have to take multiple sets of toughness tests for the units around the wounded models?
>>47222459
I mean, obviously you should, unless you actually want to play test.
It's just the first draft, they're going to be changing some shit around before they do a full release.
Possibly companied by yet another BRB reprint. Hopefully I can get just the rules section this time.

It's a cool place.
The day is full of nerds of all kind.
The night is full of nerds and normies, even some families, which just love the fact the bar has private rooms which they can use too.
They play tabletop games mostly, but other times they just stay there drinking and have their own fun.
They see people do wargames, roleplaying games and other stuff, but they never seem surprise.
Maybe it's because there are adults that play majong, chess and other stuff in the middle.
Also here the most popular and traditional hobby is a card game. Every kid grow seeing his grandpa playing that. Is this a thing in other countries?

Orks are gonna have a really hard time dealing with a single assassin, let alone five.
>BS8
>Overwatch at full BS
Basically the assassin get to run around blasting everything they want with poison pistols or bolt pistols, 4 times per shooting phase and the Orks can't really charge them when they blast them to shit during overwatch anyway, or if they make it into combat, they'll be so weak the Fleshbane Shred gauntlet will finish them, basically one Assassin can take on any Ork unit, alone.

The Tau starter set is 450ish points depending on drones and kit.
For moving up to 750, I was thinking two hammerheads with stealth pods and submunitions, a base squad of sniper drones, and a second squad of FWs.
Is that fine, or is there some glaring flaw? It feels like more suits (crisis / stealth / broadside) wouldn't be worthwhile until there's enough points available to bring lots of them.

https://regimental-standard.com/2016/05/11/mankinds-destiny-made-manifest/
Trooper, I will have you know that the Imperial guard are only ever issued the best gear imaginable. In fact, the Imperial guard are actually so important, that they are given ear-plugs and sunglasses, so that they can stand next to titans unimpeded.
This article(Which is by the way, not propaganda at all, and it would be heresy to claim otherwise), clearly states that every guardsman is just as important to the war efforts as a WARLORD TITAN. Whether its serving as a temporary distraction for the god machine's foes, or cleaning piss from the latrines, every man is equally important. That is why all guardsmen are issued earplugs and sunglasses, so that they can stand next to a warlord titan and it's mighty weapons!
Everyone knows that while the mighty Quake Cannons produce a shockwave that can liquify brains, earplugs are perfect protection from their mighty sound. As well, you need also only wear these convenient sunglasses in order to look directly at the mighty Sunfury Plasma Annihilators.
And don't forget to take your iodine pills when the warlord titans use their nuclear missile racks. They will keep you more than safe from the blasts.

If you take 2 pairs of melee weapons, you get an extra attack in close combat. That applies to any pair of melee weapons though, so you could have a pair of boneswords and a pair of talons and still benefit, but you only choose one two swing with.
While I think you can technically pick two ranged weapons, you can't fire both in the same turn. Unless you want to do something odd like buy both a heavy weapon and a standard one for versatility, there's not much reason to.
>>47225277
Funny you should mention McDonalds, I've actually lost 10 pounds of weight eating nothing but McDonalds for a whole month. Literally all there is to it is eating one biscuit and a cup of coffee for breakfast, then followed by a mcchicken and coffee for lunch and dinner.
Calories motherfucker, you can get them from literally anywhere, and all you really need to worry about is just consuming less than 1500 calories a day.
>>47225270
Two pairs scything talons gives you a bonus attack for 2 CCW. Two deathspitters does nothing, since you can only fire one of them per turn.

Ironically, the fat dudes are the best guys to play with, because they're overall good dudes and willing to play unique situations and scenarios and homebrew stuff.there's also this woman from her mid-forties that frequents the place like all the time, but never actually plays. She's cool, but she came from Vietnam after the fall of Saigon, and she's got horrible burns on her arm. None of us have asked about it.

>Space Marine, Space Wolves, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Chaos Space Marines, Harlequin, and Eldar codices say, "May replace one weapon with one [Army Relic]," or, "May replace one weapon with one of the following."
>Limit of 1 Relic per model, exceptions made for the limited relics within each codex caveated to not replace weapons.
>>47225985
Correct. Only Necrons and Orks are affected by this. Everybody else can use as many as possible.
So kill team is starting to get good for my guard. Even though I had to fight Horus twice the first week, I'm gaining a lot of points off the the remaining rounds.
>>47226027
> Fighting a 500 point model in a 250 point game
I don't know what the fuck you're doing, but this doesn't sound like Kill Teams.
>>47226045
Maybe it's a 500 point game?
>>47225999
Your wrong. It also affects Grey Knights. How's it feel being wrong?
>>47225999
Again, the FAQ is not an errata, but a clarification. Space Marines can replace one weapon with a relic, and that means that they can only replace one weapon.
However, in addition to the one replacement relic chosen, they can also take The Armour Indomitus, as that item doesn't replace a relic.
You cannot take The Burning Blade with The Primarch's Wrath on the same model. And that's not FAQ, that's RAW.
>>47226058
Still, this doesn't sound like kill teams at all. Why the fuck would you be playing against Horus in it? He's not even in the damn army lists, and neither are any special characters of any kind.
>>47226045
200 point kill team, requires 1 troop at minimum capacity. Allowed to take up to 2 additional troops, 2 elites, 2 fast, and 2 heavy units or models.
>>47226062
>Your wrong
>Your
I dunno, you tell me.
>>47226086
The problem was the idea of, say, replacing Chainsword with Melee Weapon and Pistol with Pistol/Melee weapon. That's what I thought. I play BA and their relics are shit so lol why would I need to bother reading the rules.
Forgive me for being slow but I'm just now actually looking at the riptide's profile.
Does the multi-tracker simply allow it to use ripple fire? I don't remember any player ever shooting the main gun twice so I'm assuming each one can only be fired once unless you're ripple firing.
>>47226109
>dunno
You can't even spell out 'don't know'. Terrible.
>>47226113
The Multi-tracker does nothing on the Riptide, as an MC can already fire 2 weapons. This would be the Riptide's main gun and the secondary smart missiles, fusion, or plasma.
>>47226062
>Dark Eldar, Necrons, Grey Knights, Skitarii, Cult Mechanicus, Adepta Sororitas, Imperial Knights, Inquisitors, and Orks wargear lists says, "A model may take one of the following."
>Limit 1 per model, barring item specific caveats
Khorne Daemonkin has both limits. "A model may take one of the following..." Or "A model may instead replace one weapon with one of the following..."
>Still a 1 per model limit.
>Chaos Daemons only has a limit of one per army, but the codex employs specific mechanics which make it roughly impossible for a character to end up with more than one.
>Tyranids codex says, "A model may replace any pair of scything talons with one of the following." Only one model has more than one scything talon, but Norn Crown and Ymgarl Factor can also be taken without weapon replacement.
>Legion of the Damned only has one relic, total.
>Tempestus Scions, and stand-alone factions like Officio Assassinorum, Deathwatch, Genestealer Cultists, and Renegade Knights don't seem to have relics.
>Tau and Astra Militarum only seems to have a limit of one of each item per army. I see no restrictions per-model restrictions, although some Astra Militarum Heirlooms may only be taken by specific models or replace an item.
>Near as I can tell, every supplement uses the relic restrictions of their parent codex/faction. In most cases a unit may choose from either the parent list or the supplemental list, "instead." In other cases, an individual model may chose from either list "instead." In both cases, relics from both lists may be within the same detachment. Most of the Space Marines factions have more than one "One-per army" wargear list classification, with Banners and Relics being notably different lists, and their supplemental models may select the parent version of one list and the supplement version of another list.
>>47226086
If t hat's the case, then BA can take loads.
Angelic Visage isn't a 'wargear' piece. It doesn't replace anything.
The Jet Pack relic the same.
Vitas Vitae as well.
So he can take Valour's Edge and the other three then?
>>47226141
Alright so I was correct when I was reading it as useless because you can only fire each gun once anyway. For a second there I thought RAW Riptide's could fire their main gun twice a turn.
>>47226090
That's not kill teams at all, that's the white-dwarf version of it with a bastardized rule-set. You really should be downloading the army-lists from Heralds of Ruin.
Actual Kill-Teams consists of teams that are 1 Leader Choice, 1 to 20 core choices, and 0 to 3 special choices. All of the leader models have 1 additional wound on top of their base profile, and each army list has it's own relic/special issue wargear unique only to kill-teams.
Also, Horus is a 600+ point model. From 30k. And is the most powerful single-infantry model in the entire game. Unless you're retarded, I absolutely fucking don't think you've been seeing big-daddy horus himself in a kill teams game.

>>47226224
Then you were playing against an insufferable faggot who was blatantly cheating. Orbital Bombardment doesn't work in Zone Mortalis because Barrage weapons don't work in ZM. Kill-teams can't take Chapter Masters who would have them either, and neither can they take any of the special characters from the badab war. It's literally not even an option that can be obtained in that game-type.

Actually, it's been around a lot longer. Because originally, before the FAQ, Orks and Necrons WERE the only ones with the different wording. Space Marines players interpreted as "replace both weapons with a relic" while the Orks and Necrons specifically say only one, regardless.
When the FAQ dropped, several people starting saying it only affected them, again, check the archive. We had 5 threads of arguments including "it only affects Necrons and Orks" which is why I replied that. Since, guess what, 99% of people in the thread will be in the next one. Just cause some guy took it as legit and then started going "Hur dur ur wrong xDD how does it feel????" and another guy got into a shitposting fest with him isn't a plan.
