Keep the MK/Lady N related squabbling to a minimum.

To keep this from becoming /tesg/ minus waifus, don't post memes unless you are also posting quality discussion. Especially if it's not even Elder Scrolls related.

Ada-Mantia falling would technically undo convention probably and it would be weirdness of Dawn era all over again which would be too hard for Bethesda to do. Also, we have actually seen towers fall in games, Red Tower fell in Morrowind for example.

I doubt we will ever see more about them given how the games are progressing. Too complex for the audience that Bethesda is pandering to.

So can the procedurally generated nature of Daggerfall be rectified by the dragon break? I mean that since all possible endings happened, what about parallel villages, dungeons, and monsters?

Guards and NPCs in general don't roam around at night and in my experience they will only appear if you try to rest within or nearby the town. I've been arrested for "criminal conspiracy" a few times when climbing walls, but I believe that was due to the quests I was on. There's a chance to get arrested for that on certain shady quests.

>>46862691
Nothing to be rectified there. Daggerfall was procedurally generated once by Bethesda. The data they generated was put on the disk, so the world itself (towns/dungeons/etc.) is static. MAPS.BSA contains all that information by referencing BLOCKS.BSA and Daggerfall Tools for Unity gives you tools to work with the data contained in those files in the Unity engine.
>>
>>46862751
Tried daggerfall once, never got out of the starting dungeon because of the controls.
>>
>>46862751
Oh, it's actually static? I had heard otherwise. I retract my comment then.
>>
>>46862782
You can set it to mouselook mode in the in-game options. You can't walk diagonally and vertical movement when swimming/levitating uses separate keys, but besides those two relatively minor issues it handles similarly to any first-person game made in the last 10 years.

>>46862785
Certain aspects are procedurally generated like quests, enemies, loot, but that's just as true for Skyrim. What you probably heard was that Daggerfall's world WAS procedurally generated, and that's absolutely correct in the past tense. The world is not handcrafted because the vast majority of it was built by a random generator. The difference is that it's not built in real-time, so your world is the same as my world is the same as the world of whatever poor sap pre-ordered the broken mess that was Daggerfall version 1.0.
>>
>>46862844
Yes, I had heard that it was seed based with everyone getting a different world. Much better this way, imo
>>
>>46862938
I believe the areas outside towns in Arena were like that. They just repeated the same square infinitely in all directions once you got far enough out, though. In my tests I would always get the same worlds across installs, and it matches up with a few videos I've seen of outdoor exploration on YouTube, so Arena probably uses a fixed seed for that stuff if it does in fact generate the wilderness in real-time.

>>
>>46863221
make sure to, after entering the game, DONT touch the sound, graphics, or music bar. then save your game, exit, run the Eye of Argonia program, then go back to your game and enjoy the enhanced graphics bar, which you should never ever touch

3 MB, 3200x4305
>>46863197
Nothing wrong with starting there, but it's fine to skip. I recommend everyone at least try it, if you can stick with it then it's got some fun riddles in the main quest dungeons and helps give you even more context to the series. I started with Arena and I frankly got bored to tears by the end of the main quest, but it made me appreciate Daggerfall's improvements so damn much. I was expecting more of the same based on the screenshots but Daggerfall really blew me away, both in technology and content compared to its predecessor.

It's arguably the "worst" TES game since it's totally lacking of almost every staple TES feature besides spellmaking, but it's still an alright little dungeon crawler with a linear story and lots of places to go. I ended up revisiting it and playing with a few different classes and it does have some neat mechanics. The classes are quite varied in their capabilities and magic users are completely OP.

>>46863221
In DaggerfallSetup? It's been a long time since I've used it, but that either has to do with filters or CPU cycles. If it's the former then I'd definitely say no to filters. They aren't really meant for 3D games like Daggerfall. If it's the latter then the ideal cycle count is around 48000 to avoid some bugs that creep up as you approach and exceed 50,000. If unsure, just set it to whatever's recommended, then check your DOSBox.conf file in the install directory and make sure it has the line "cycles = fixed #####" somewhere and that number is between 40000 and 50000. If it has "cycles = auto" or "cycles = max" then replace that line with the above.

>>46863322
Yes, this is very sound advice. The Eye of Argonia program only works if the sliders are in their default positions, and it's not possible to put them back to those positions using your mouse if you accidentally clicked them. Those options are stored on a per-save basis, so you will do this for every new character you create. The view distance increase is definitely worth the hassle.
>>
>>46863322
>>46863351
I meant in the dosbox.conf where
http://wiwiki.wiwiland.net/index.php/Daggerfall_:_DaggerfallSetup_EN
talks about scaler= and output=
But that info is good to know too
>>
>>46863440
Ah, the scaler is one of the options that can be used to apply a filter if you wanted one. For output, feel free to try a bunch of different ones. Certain output types can't go fullscreen or stretch properly. My personal settings for these are:
output=overlay
scaler=normal3x

But there's no need to mess with it if you think the game looks fine already on your end.
>>
>>46863507
Is there no way to have 16:9?
That's really my only issue.
>>
>>46863557
nigga do you not know how old this game is
>>
>>46863440
>>46863507
Oh right, and definitely make sure aspect correction is on. Even though Daggerfall outputs a 320x200 image, it's actually meant to be a 4:3 game due to the rectangular pixels of screens at the time. Emulating this on an LCD without distortion or blurring requires a lot more pixels (1600x1200, to be exact), but a little bit of distortion or blurring is far preferable to an improperly stretched image.

>>46863557
Looks like I just answered this question, too. If you're playing on DOSBox then you want 4:3. If you make it widescreen you'll just have a stretched image that makes everything too wide. If you want true 16:9 and high resolution graphics you'll have to wait for DaggerXL or Daggerfall Unity.
>>
>>46863351
So you've been playing since the very beginning then?
>>
>>46863591
>>46863592
I can deal with black bars on the side, I do it for freddi fish, I just prefer to have 16:9 if possible.

The Cyrodiilic Empire died with the Amulet of Kings, there is no more covenant so there is simply no more Empire. There is nothing holy or deserving about the Medes. They are pretenders who will inevitably lose Tamriel to the Elves.

What Tamriel needs is a new Empire created by a new hero.

Not at first, man. My first experience with Morrowind went something like this:

>I was young--probably 8 or 9
>My brother came back with this new game
>He went out and bought it the day it came out (like a two hour drive from our place in the middle of the country), so I knew it had to be awesome
>I'd played games with him before. Chrono Trigger, Chrono Chross, Final Fantasy, all sorts of rpgs
>I was the best backseat gamer
>Never tried to play, brought him snacks, stayed quiet
>He gave me a memory card for the ps1 once, and I used it not for any games I played, but to back up every single save he had
>Did that occassionally, actually; wound up saving the day several times after data corruption
>He tells me I have never seen shit like this
>Puts in game
>Install takes an eternity
>I have never seen shit like this
>Watch him play for probably two hours, and he never even leaves the area around Sedya Neen
>I am enthralled; gotta see more
>Dinner time
>FUCKEVERYTHING.jpg
>Don't get to see more of the game for about a week
>Brother is going off to college
>I am the saddest
>I remember this clearly; he pulls me close
>Says "play as much as you want, anon. If my PC gives you trouble, call me."
>So nervous the first time I played
>Don't want to let down big bro though
>Build shitty characters
>Get ass stomped by rats, skribs, whatever
>Finally get my act together
>get passed starting area
I can still remember my surprise and wonder as I stood beneath the tops of the giant mushrooms. The strange flora and fauna to either side. The fear. The excitement of the road. I played that game forever, and I never got bored. I didn't even do the main quests or guilds. I just wandered around adventuring, and helping people; it was everything I've ever wanted.

To this day, no game has ever made me feel that sense of awe that I felt beneath those giant mushrooms.

The wilderness in Arena isn't infinite, it's just featureless and pointlessly huge. You can walk from town to town, it might just take you something like 10-12 hours.
Some dungeons are randomly generated though, that I'm fairly sure about.

>>46863197
Arena has really bad controls, but it's fun. The most skippable TES game, but not entirely pointless to play.

>>46866676
Nah, it's literally infinite. You definitely cannot walk from place to place (as seen on the world map) in Arena. The parts near where you exit are actually much more dense than the wilderness in any other TES game, full of villages, graveyards, dungeons and stuff like that. Keep moving in one direction and you'll reach the infinite loop point, however.
>>
>>46867400
>Nah, it's literally infinite.
The manual says otherwise.
>>
>>46867427
Where? It certainly doesn't say so in the image posted at >>46866676

I've played the game extensively. This is easy to test for yourself. Every city in the game has its own instanced wilderness zone that does not connect to anything else. It has points of interests in it, but no locations that you can actually see on your fast travel map are accessible besides the town you left from. Furthermore, the dungeons you can fast travel to (such as every main quest dungeon) have no connection to the wilderness whatsoever; leaving one of these dungeons opens the fast travel map, and fast traveling to them takes you directly into the dungeon.

Is there any chance Bethesda won't fuck up the next game?
>>
>>46866739
Ah. That is a very interesting metric. I'll have to test this further. Thank you for that, and I stand corrected. The area around the town you leave is full of foliage, dungeons, and villages, but if you travel any direction for about 5 minutes the same exact village, graveyard, or whatever will start looping in all directions.

It will be exciting to actually see how the wilderness transitions. Does anybody have any footage or anecdotes of traveling in Arena? I wonder if anybody's ever successfully moved locations. It seems likely that major dungeons do not appear in the wilderness, but that is amazing if you can actually walk from city to city.
>>
>>46867723
I believe quest dungeons are not reachable by travelling on foot. It makes sense as well, as that would technically make it possible to stumble upon them without having their location revealed by a quest.
>>
>>46867649
They'll honestly probably make Skyrim 2. They tried new things with Fallout 4, but their reviews were fairly low. I enjoyed Skyrim enough that I won't be mad, but it won't be great either. I hope they keep Fallout 4's armor system though. Clothes under armor again.

>>
>>46867782
Yeah, I would not fault the game in the slightest for that. I'm very surprised that this is seemingly possible at all, to such a degree that I still am dubious of the manual's accuracy on this matter. I've walked from place to place a lot in Daggerfall and I could probably travel across two whole regions in that game, only covering half the distance you could travel in Arena with the same house and NPC passing you by every 5 seconds, almost making you question whether you're moving at all or just being placed on some treadmill.

Thanks again for this info. I fully read the manuals of each game before I played them but somehow this tidbit did not stick with me.

Well Mysticism as in the school is based off of mysticism the religious. In fact most of the metaphysics and magic are based off of mysticism, but Mysticism the school is doubly so.

I'll let this run in the background for a few days. Maybe something cool will happen. If you want to try for yourself this is going north from the north gate of Thorkan Park in High Rock. Its neighbor to the north-northwest, "Old Gate", is one of the closer neighbors as far as Arena cities go. If all goes well we should expect to find our way near it in about 12 (effective gameplay) hours. After walking north for about 20 minutes, enjoying the varied attractions the wilderness has to offer, you will reach the looping area featured in this webm. The webm is not edited to loop or anything like that, but you can save yourself 90 seconds by just stopping after the first three seconds, as the rest of it is identical.

I've tested multiple Arena installs on multiple systems and the wilderness has always matched down to every bush, tree, and cutoff at which the wilderness starts looping around each city, but all of my installs have been based on the CD Rom version of the game so that's one factor I haven't accounted for. But based on those results so far I am hopeful that we are all exploring the same wilderness as each other.

If anybody else has ever bothered to try traveling by foot in Arena and learned something conclusive, that would be awesome to hear. My hypothesis is that the manual is full of shit, but I could be proven wrong by any of the following happening:
1. The looping ceases, or at least changes to a different looping pattern, before the game crashes
2. The highlighted city in the fast travel map changes to anywhere other than Thorkan Park (and hopefully changes to Old Gate)
3. I encounter any location that is marked on the fast travel map other than Thorkan Park.
>>
Okay, I am playing Daggerfall. I get the sense it's easy to build a gimped character, so what is a class that is not gimped?
>>
>>46871132
I'm interested in the results of this. I think it's very possible that the manual is talking about the game's intended features rather than the actual features present in the game. I've done some looking online, and while the consensus seems to be that walking from town to town isn't possible, no one says they've actually tried walking as long as the manual says.
>>
>>46871318
A decent custom class will beat out just about every premade. Even terrible Daggerfall characters are viable, you'll just start slower if you don't have great combat skills. Take any item types you don't intend to use (leather/chain materials, weaker shields, weapon types, etc.) as a "forbidden" disadvantage to get an experience rate boost to the skills you do care about, or alternatively some other advantages like expertise and magicka. Speaking of which, definitely take one of the Increased Magicka ones if you plan to cast any spells, and the maximum one if you're playing a magic-oriented character.

If you really want to optimize and aren't much for role-playing, then here's a few fun facts:
High Elves are one of the few races that actually have any effect besides what you look like. Classes override your racial attribute modifiers, but High Elves keep their immunity to paralysis and it will even override the corresponding weakness disadvantage.
Long Blades are the best weapon type in the game overall. It's nice to have a blunt weapon on hand for Skeletons and such but it won't be hard to get through the game relying only on swords, and for every other situations swords are superior due to their higher damage, both for one-handed and two-handed weapons.
You can fuck around with the advantage/disadvantage system to really make it easy. Things like immunity to magic then taking the weaknesses that get overridden by it. You can also mess up the tracking of the difficulty dagger around the edges.

I wouldn't bother abusing character creation exploits for your first time, though. It's not necessary and I find the game to be far more interesting without them. Just pick skills you like and make sure you at least have a couple combat skills in your primaries and majors. If you want a nice relaxing playthrough just for the sake of lore then go all out, however.

So a group of, I presume human, mages tried to kill the head of the elven pantheon by purging that facet of Akatosh and failed horribly at it right?

Are the races of men just upset that the elves are doing a better job at killing their god then they did when they tried to kill Auri'el?
>>
>>46871940
My knowledge of this is fuzzy, but it wasn't quite like that. There were a lot of humans in that group, but they were lead by one of those ape men, an Imga. Unlike most, he didn't like elves much, and was furious about Auri-El being an elvish god being worshiped by humans.

What he and this group were trying to do was force Auri-El and Akatosh apart - instead of being aspects of each other, they'd be split apart. And their big ol' ritual actually managed to succeed into splitting them into two differing entitites, Akatosh and Auri-El. There was no attempt to kill any gods, as far as I know.

Niiice. While there's a lot of Daggerfall talk going on, can I ask a reputation question?

I did some quests for Lord Bridewell early on, because like a dummy I didn't realize what he was asking me to deliver and why until I heard some rumors about him being involved in a drug trade. Now I want to do some nice things, but the Zenithar worshippers won't let me in yet becuase I don't have the right skills, and I'm not too interested in joining the Mages Guild or a knightly order. Is there any other way for me to do quests?

>>46874006
Because they mix magic and martial skill in a way most classes - and indeed most games in general - can't really do. The spellsword of D&D is either a wizard that can use a sword or a knight that can cast a spell or two. A spellsword in TES can handle both easily.
>>
>>46874006
Because they're the best class archetype. Magic is strong enough without a muscleman/mer cleaving through your armor like butter with Daedric weapons. Plus add the Atronach sign and enemy battlemages are nothing to them but just another target.
>>
>>46874304
>Is there any other way for me to do quests?
Sure.
There's always other nobles to quest for, as well as the Fighters Guild and the Thieves Guild. Plus you can get quests from common folk, mostly merchants and innkeepers. And you could always go to another temple.

As down the glen one Tibedetha morn to a city fair rode I
There Armed lines of marching men in squadrons passed me by
No pipe did hum, nor battle drum did sound its dread tattoo
But the Angelus Bell o'er the Yorgrim swells rang out in the foggy dew

Right proudly high over Windhelm Town they hung out the flag of war
'Twas better to die 'neath a Nordic sky than at Rihad or Dusok Moor
And from the plains of Whiterun Hold strong men came hurrying through
While Cyrodil's Huns with their long-range guns sailed in through the foggy dew

Oh the night fell black, and the magicks' crack made perfidious Cyrodil reel
In the leaden rain, seven tongues of flame did shine o'er the lines of steel
By each shining blade a prayer was said, that to Skyrim her sons be true
But when morning broke, still the war flag shook out its folds in the foggy dew

'Twas Cyrodil bade our wild geese go, that "small provinces might be free"
But their lonely graves are by Rihad's waves or the fringe of the great Ghost Sea
Oh, had they died by Ulfric's side or Vignar Gray-Mane too
Their names we would keep where Companions sleep, 'neath the shroud of the foggy dew

But the bravest fell, and the Requiem bell rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Tiberstide in the springing of the year
While the world did gaze, in deep amaze, at those fearless men, but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light might shine through the foggy dew

As back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more
But to and fro in my dreams I go and I kneel and pray for you
For slavery fled, O glorious dead, when you fell in the foggy dew.

It depends what you choose. I prefer Stahlrim armor from Skyrim over Morrowind fot example, but things like Daedric stuff from Skyrim would be just horrible.

But yeah, if rest of your graphics are vanilla they don't fit. If they're up to current standard like Tyddy's 2-4k textures and all the superduper high detailed models that make my game run on 30fps then they fit just fine.

High detail != better. Beth games all have different art style, so sticking things from one into another doesn't look good.

It looks super likely that it will have server-based multiplayer sooner than you think. It's already in the works and pretty far along.

I thought trueSTL was nothing but shitposting.

Is that not what we're doing here as well?

Not really.
>>
>>46876184
I like it, honestly - I keep trying to get into Daggerfall, but it's so hard to tell what you're doing wrong and right that I keep falling out of it.

At least in Morrowind, you can tell when you've fucked up with character creation. Then you have to start again, because the console commands for changing race and class are kind of fucked.
>>
>>46877880
Well, it used to be bit more lore oriented long ago, but still 100% shitposting. Nowadays it's just shitposting.
>>
>>46877290
I dont get this
It seems well written though
>>
Guys, am I the only one that heavily dislikes MKs writing style?
Some of his ideas are great, but he just writes so intentionally pretentious ... it's not even like he is able to write colorful.
>>
>>46877859
If you absolutely want to make horrible reddit comparison then /r/Morrowind would be closest to these threads. Moderating is more relaxed here though, but pretty much same kind of discussion with more lore and less in-game screenshots.
>>
Why is Hew's Bane suddenly habitable?
Why did ESO do this to my beloved Hew's Bane?
>>
>>46877918
Probably considering what thread this is, but despite loving MK's style I can understand your criticism about him being too pretentious. He really is pretentious and it's not just his writing, but that's how he is in real life too. I disagree that he is not able to write with colorful style though given how Sermons have very colorful writing, but I can agree that it's not anything really special.

Also, C0DA is among worst of his works I've read (sadly it's probably most popular now, so people new to this can get wrong idea), but that's just because it was meant to be comic.
>>
>mfw we will never have something as great as Vehk again
>>
>>46877972
What the hell is a Hew's Bane, and what did ESO do to it?
>>
>>46878015
Also, should mention that his magnum opus that is Sermons (aka 36 Lessons of Vivec) is the only one of his works that is actually very good in my opinion. Rest of his works are just good and many are just very short stories that rely more on being mysterious than having actual substance. Shonni-Etta seems to be something more special, but it was never completed due to being censored from Oblivion. He has promised to finish it some day, but knowing him, that could take years.

I wonder what's with Argonians being popular choice for kids starting out with Elder Scrolls. Other is of course Nord, but that's far easier to explain since Nords are generic strong nordic blue eyed "aryan" race.

Are you a Japanese MW-player or why the katakana? If so, that's great since greatness of Morrowind needs to spread all around the world.

Anyway, Fargoth's ring is in barrel and you need to pick it up to proceed through tutorial, but doing the quest with ring is completely optional and unless you do that quest you won't know that ring you picked up in tutorial is actually Fargoth's ring.

I think it's more like they didn't realize it was fargoth's ring. Nothing actually indicates it's his ring except for being in the general area of the census and excise office.

I think that might be the reason since aesthetics aren't very appealing (unless you're some lizard lover I guess), but this is kind of interesting as it means kids looks more at numbers than adults. Not very surprising to be honest since your brain is at pretty much at it's peak during teenage years and before that it's in learning mode. After you reach adulthood (20+) it's pretty much just downwards spiral from there.

you're both wrong.

the Marukhati Selective was lead by an Imga who hated the idea that Men and Mer were inherently linked and drawn from the same stock. Men were not meant to worship Elven gods and vice versa. The Selective was full of elves and humans with similar ideals and they worked together to Break The Dragon and create a timeline in which Auri-El and Akatosh were seperate entities. Eventually time resumed and the two became one once more.

yes you're reading that right a bunch of nerds got angry that the gods weren't segregated enough and broke reality because of their OCD.
>>
>>46878183
Heh. I did something similar in Oblivion when I was a kid. Me and my friend would spend nice summer days hiding away from the daylight in his basement ridding every city of any race besides Argonian (as best we could). Good times.
>>
>>46878531
But how did things come back together again? Why couldn't they be permanently split?
>>
>>46878645
Jills.
>>
>>46878645
I don't know, but I assumed timeline fixing mechanism (Jills, they're female dragons) that fixes Dragon Breaks generally also fixed that.
>>
>>46878669
>>46878695
Is there an in-game basis for Jills?
>>
>>46878763
Actually Jills are apparently the dragons that you fight in Skyrim (which would make sense because Alduin is time resetting aspect of Akatosh) according to Bethesda:
http://www.vg247.com/2011/04/18/dragonborn-again-bethesda-shows-skyrim-in-utah/
>>
>>46878866

Well, that puts a new spin on things for me
>>
>>46878909
What did you expect? Elder Scrolls games since Daggerfall have always been about player fucking up the world by his actions. Arena was only one where player actually saved the world.
>>
>>46878980
What did CoC fuck up?
>>
>>46878866
As far as I know, that isn't confirmed in the later game. They might have just mistakenly used Jill to refer to black dragons.

Notice that the article also speaks about an NPC sending someone off to see the owner of the Riverwood trader, which as far as I know is not in the final game, and that the dragon fights are 'unscripted.'
>>
>>46878980
I guess. In fairness, in Oblivion, you don't knock out the white tower, the destruction of the amulet and loss of the heir did, which totally wasn't your fault.
>>
>>46879049
I believe he's blaming the fall of the white tower on CoC
>>
>>46879064

You were helping!
>>
>>46879084
But that's purely Mannimankar's fault.
>>
Did the last Dragonborn deactivate any towers? I know the Throat of the World is one, but did it actually fall?
>>
>>46879117
Throat's stone is Sovngarde, do the math.
>>
>>46879049
I think it's implied that the eruption of Red Mountain was partially due to the destruction/disappearance of the Heart of Lorkhan destabilizing the tower. Then again, I doubt letting Dagoth Ur us it to power his own not!Numidium would've done it much good either.

There's also the fact that the loss of the Tribunal, and the later destabilization in Morrowind, caused Ocato to focus more on the concrete problems threatening the Empire over the maybe conspiracy theories about the Mythic Dawn trying to summon Mehrunes Dagon.
>>
>>46879129
You didn't destroy Sovngarde.

Also, source for that being the stone?
>>
>>46879129
The stone of the Throat of the World has been hinted at being a cave. I don't think Sovengarde is a cave.
>>
>>46879134
They asked about the Champion of Cyrodil, not the Nerevarine.
>>
What will happen if the Thalmor actually smash the towers?

Nirn will be destroyed and the inhabitants will be forced to flee. Khajiit will be fine thanks to their Moon Colonies and Argonians will have the Hist to help them but everyone else, especially the altmer will have a harder time of things.

The Thalmor want to return to being spirits but a caterpillar cannot return to being a butterfly. Their destruction of Nirn and the machinery that maintains it will just destroy the world, it won't give them the immortality and godhead they desperately covet.
>>
>>46879216
Imagine a boat. A really nice boat. Now imagine that boat is docked on a river that leads to an inevitable waterfall drop. But don't worry, there are plenty of anchors to make sure that doesn't happen. But the Thalmor want it to happen, because they think that killing everything ever will make them gods again. So, some of the anchors get destroyed, and the Thalmor start sawing at the remaining few anchors. Eventually they'll all break. Then the boat is going to go over the fall. From there, we can only guess.
>>
>>46879219
That's a stretch. At any rate, how could the stone for a tower be located on another plane? And how does that make the stone at Snow Throat? You don't use the Throat of the World to access Sovngarde.
>>
>>46879219
>MK said
and?
>>
>>46879183
Oh.

Well, he didn't fuck up a tower, but he set up things for future fuckups. He messed up the Dark Brotherhood, stole an Elder Scroll, in helping save the world got the heir to the Septim throne killed and losing the White-Gold stone in the process...I mean, sure, it wasn't his fault, and you might be able to argue that the dragon statue is now the stone, but it still destabilizes the Empire for the foreseeable future.
