Formatting. If it is a hassle to read, less people will read it. Formatting isn't so much of an issue of what "TO DO" as what "NOT TO DO." Stay away from horizontal scrolling or situations where a reader has to repeatedly go back and forth.

No, but it can be a good thing. Some are closer to simple choice images as thought experiments. Others are the basis of building entire settings. The amount of story suitable for a CYOA can vary quite a bit.

It can be good or bad. Naturally, you want to include options that people will like. Such is the nature of pandering. Too much, however, and it can overshadow the rest of the CYOA (unless it is a waifu CYOA, in which case, that's what you're going for).

If a "class" is merely several pre-set choices, then you're better off without it. If "class" is a complicated choice with various effects, that's fine. Otherwise, it really depends on what you're going for.

In cases like Art Genie and Kitsuneanon's stuff it matters less, but in something like Space refugee and star dust, story and backround information are imperative, how much story/lore depends on how much liaison you want to give to the reader.

The thing I like about these is for my imagination to run wild rather than be totally tied down to a story. A little background is okay (and necessary in some contexts), but I tend to think that less is more.

I think I'd take Talia in the cloaking suit and for upgrades I'll take the size modifier, hard light, projector upgrade, wrist communicator, and nanobots.
First of I chose Talia because having a life companion is more valuable to me than a servant to me and most the others have some form of liability. The stealth suit is pretty cool. Being completely undetectable is both fun and has a ton of utility. Nanobots because a long life with significantly less chance of going senile is a big one for me. I think most people would agree losing you mind in worse than dying sane.
Anyway onto the fetishes as that's probably at least half of CYOA general. All the upgrades make the hologram screwable, which is great, but another option is having Talia excite me while in the stealth suit. She could be a tease while going about ordinary business or perhaps have the suit mute me and go invisible then keep me on edge for ages.
