Alright. So I'm working on a dex/cha Warlord(Steelfist Commando).

What are some feats/equipment I'll really want if I plan to do unarmed as a Steelfist Commando? I've never build a warlord before so any general advice would be nice.

Also: Is there anything that lets you jump further than your base speed in a turn? I'm looking to have a truly silly Acrobatics score and looking to make real use of it.

3.5 elves were notably shorter than humans, where PF elves tend to be taller. Endeca's art was made towards the start of 3.5.
>>

5e. Better for new people, easier. When you get a stomach for minutiae and bullshit, come back.

5e for sure. There are better options than either though

So after our party nearly got our shit kicked in by Lady Andaisin in book 2 of CotCT I am now really interested in a cleric or inquisitor of Urgathoa.

Any advice on this? If I go inquisitor then it'd be a Sanctified Slayer as it fits my playstyle much more than dealing with per day mechanics like judgments.

For cleric Undeath domain seems pretty critical by allowing healing through inflicts. Channel Smite + Shatter Resolve, while not particularly optimized, does sound pretty fun also.

I've gotten done *most* of the work I wanted to on the All Day™ kineticist, now it comes to basically just tweaking shit so that nothing is overwhelmingly good or bad, and adding in an overwhelming soul archetype that doesn't choke on massive horsecocks. Ideally the overwhelming soul should give a decent enough advantage to justify switching over from CON-based "casting" to charisma based "casting".

>>46100498

>>46100542

>>
>>46100549
Are you using the stamina stuff from Unchained? Keep in mind the Channel Smite combat trick: spend stamina up to your normal channel dice, get an extra die of smite damage per point of stamina spent. Throw in a consecrated weapon as well, and you can do some serious nova-smiting.
>>
>>46100498
Neither. Play Dungeon World instead.
>>
>>46100406

She's a Half-Elf, and tits that large aren't going to be particularly fun for either party in the bedroom.
>>

No, only things from Unchained we are using right now is ABP, and Skill Consolidation. I can bring it up though.

At the moment this is purely a fun theory/exercise in building such a character, but I kinda just really wanna have fun with a scythe now.

Can a Summoner's eidolon look identical to a pre-existing creature?

Well, with various evolutions it can become something very unique for sure, but I'd like to know whether theoretically it can look perfectly normal or not.

I'm asking this because my DM asked me "Summoner? Ok, but think about how eidolon might affected your character in the first place. How might people react to a strange creature? How might they perceive you hanging out with that strange creature? How might your life among people change for hanging out with your eidolon all the time?"

...and I'm trying to cheat "Lol it looks like a normal pet."

Tell me about Unquiet Grave, /dspfg/. What low-level maneuvers from it are worth having for a dhampir antipaladin taking Martial Training?
>>
>>46101115
It's right in the class description.

>The eidolon’s physical appearance is up to the summoner, but it always appears as some sort of fantastical creature. This control is not fine enough to make the eidolon appear like a specific creature. The eidolon also bears a glowing rune that is identical to a rune that appears on the summoner’s forehead as long as the eidolon is summoned. While this rune can be hidden through mundane means, it cannot be concealed through magic that changes appearance, such as alter self or polymorph (although invisibility does conceal it as long as the spell lasts).

Mind you, a lot of players will use the class mechanically to represent other things (e.g. gnome with remote control golem or whatever), and non-terrible DMs will usually allow that.

>How ya doin /pfg/?

Dreading tomorrow's game a bit, mostly. Left the game for a while because it was a pure dungeon-crawl hack and slash, no RP or story at all. I knew that going in, but the GM was trying to learn the system, so I figured I'd help out and also have an excuse to hang out with friends I hadn't seen in a while. I could only take a game like that for so long, though, so I had to bow out after a few months. Then I get a message saying he's starting up a story and some roleplaying stuff... so I joined back up. And it turns out that he thinks "story" is "the dungeon is now devil-themed, but otherwise the same" and "roleplaying" is "I'm going to try to play monsters more tactically in combat, which will still be the only thing happening".

I'll put up with it for now (turns out I missed being with friends more than I hated being in this game), but it's gonna be tough holding in the frustration. This is the only chance I really get to see these friends, though.

Luckily, I've got another "When everybody's available." game starting up that'll have more story and RP to it... still a fresh GM who stumbles a bit with storytelling and roleplaying, but at least she's trying.

On the bright side, this session was originally created as a side mission for the party Ranger because he missed a session.
Someone made a joke about keeping him up with the rest of the party in terms of XP by means of brewing up a bunch of random mercenaries and playing the other half of the battle the party minus ranger took part in.

The party was camping with a whole company of mercs that saved our asses the previous day.

>>46104685
Actually that's why my main is a Bolt Ace instead of Gunslinger.

>>46104709
That'd be nice. This is a 100% homebrew setting after all, so I could try talking to my GM about it when the others aren't around.

>>46104755
Honestly the GM's a cool guy, it's just that nobody got a chance to properly read the PoW stuff prior. I should be able to work something out by just talking with him.

The gunslinger's the one getting real bitchy about it though. Don't know what's his deal.

Also I nearly died and burned 2 CLW potions just now, all I've been doing now is swinging my greatsword because out of maneuvers.
>>
>>46104927
Tell the GM that the PoW classes are built to be around the same power level as the magus, and that you have no interest in letting the other players bully you about it just because they picked weaker classes.
>>
>>46104927
I was going to say something, but >>46105052

>>
>>46103628
The campaign is two sessions in, it started at level 3 and the PCs just hit 4. I told them that they can retcon their characters if what they have isn't working for them. We've got an unchained monk, chained rogue (refuses to do unchained even though it's a straight upgrade), a fighter and a skald (who has yet to cast any spells, I'm not sure he realizes he can).
>>
Would a Theocracy exist in Golarion?
I mean, there are several deities and pantheons. Having one nation siding and being supported by an actual deity would curbstomp over everything else, right?
>>
>>46105052
>>46105084
The maneuvers do remind me of spells with how they work.
But yeah, I shot the GM a few messages asking to talk about the issue after the session. As far as I know, he's cool enough to just sit down and listen as opposed to covering his ears and screaming "3RD PARTY" like the tengu (I think he's a rogue, he's got sneak attack) or the gunslinger.
>>
>>46105125
Aren't Razmiran, Cheliax and Nidal theocracies? The latter two even have real gods.
>>
>>46105125
Nidal is a Theocracy. So is Razmiran, though their god is a lie.
>>
>>46105170
Cheliax is a Monarchy with heavy influence by the Church of Asmodeus.
>>
If you take a positive energy elemental as an (improved) familiar, can it heal an infinite amount of times?
>>
>>46105125
Deities can only do so much direct intervention before other deities start to pile on and turn the area into Mana Wastes v2. There's a reason it's mostly LE gods who manage to keep nations under sway, and even Asmodeus knows better than to have all the other religions banned in Cheliax.

Compare what happened to Deskari when he tried busting on the scene, or that one demon lord Desna murdered the fuck out of and nearly caused a Blood War because he was being super blatant in his priestess-tormenting.
>>
>>46105165
If you compare them, warlord and magus play very alike.

Attack and power each round, occasionally switching up for utility stuff or having a "dead round" because of limiting use (magus) or running out and needing to refresh (warlord).

The "uses per day" is a red herring because the gish spellcasters like magus have effectively infinite uses per day past the first 1-3 levels, if you compare their total number of spells to how many actual combat rounds per day PCs have.

Even as a Second Level path of war character he shouldn't be getting that much at level 2. Level 3, yeah, but not at 2.

2d8 weapon damage is from what I assume to be size stacking shenanigans from being a Half-Giant or Long Arm tiefling.

1d6 from a stance

But there are no first level maneuvers that give +2d6 to a 2nd level initiator to my knowledge.

They're the two with explicit gun support, offering access to things gunners love like Rapid Reload and ways to mitigate misfires.

You can *use* guns with any discipline that allows ranged attacks, they're just the ones that actually boost guns beyond just being able to use them for maneuvers.

You don't get 2nd level maneuvers until level 3. It's also a counter that you can only use after getting hit, iirc, so you can only use it in response to getting whacked in the face.

Manifesting is one ASPECT of psionics. Consider the psychic warrior, which aside from having powers ALSO has benefits for being psionically focused, and effects they can give up psionic focus to use.
>>
>>46106087
Psionics works 95% like spellcasting but with mana instead of spell slots.

The real difference is in how the power thematics work, like how it's much easier to absorb somebody's wounds and then heal yourself than it is to heal somebody else, or how the summon equivalent is actually a temporary mindless construct with eidolon-like customization.

Unchained isn't too bad, especially considering how much of a skill monkey Lupin is. You'll be squarely T4, and I'm sure there's a good Archetype you could stack on to do one of his crazy things like using gadgets or something.
Investigator might be a smidge better though, or a Bard.

Manifesting and Psionic Focus.

That's it really, and all Psi Focus is a really, really simple mechanic that aegis's barely use natively.

Aegis is a fucking terrible class to recommend as an intro into Psionics since it's basically a fighter that's more mobile and does less damage.
>>
>>46106094
Unchained is pretty decent, though it still suffers from martialitis. Unchained Hidden Blade can be pretty damn awesome, though, depending on how you build it.

Lupin is more of a talker than a traditional D&D Rogue, though... the Rogue doesn't model that part very well. You might wanna try an Investigator instead. Maybe take the Mastermind archetype, and definitely take Sleuth (the Luck point flavor fits a Lupin style character much better than alchemy, in my opinion).
>>
>>46106176
I definitely want to go skill monkey.
Although the campaign will be combat-heavy with a newer GM who rarely uses skill checks. Might make things interesting.

A Vigilante Stalker is a Stalker that uses Int instead of Wisdom and gains Inspiration instead of Ki. Not paizo's latest abomination.
>>
>>46106176
You're thinking of the Paizo Vigilante.

We're talking about the Stalker archetype that uses Int instead of Wis.
>>

He probably means the Vigilante Stalker, which is an archetype that dropped in PoW:E, NOT the frustratingly similarly-named Stalker Vigilante, which is a type of Vigilante from that shitty Paizo book that ALSO just dropped.

The Vigilante Stalker is an Int-based Stalker with Investigator toys.

>Lupin is more of a talker than a traditional D&D Rogue, though...

Sorry, I meant trickster, not talker.

No, I meant Stalker Vigilante.

It's worth noting, there doesn't seem to be much of a downside for people finding out about your secret identity.

>Make warlord
>One-shot an enemy with dizzying blow
>GM proceeds to put all odds against me in particular

Lupin is not a UC:Rogue
He's a bard. Stealth is not in his arsenal. Bullshitting, feints, misdirection are.

There's nothing about the Viglante Stalker that involves hiding your identity or not being an attention whore.

>>Clone, level 8 spell

Does this means that the corpse is not ageing? I don't see why not.

If that were the case, if someone creates a clone when they are 20, keeps it preserved until the person is 80, they then kill themselves and the soul enters the 20-year-old clone body. Is this essentially a way of achieving immortality, as long as you can keep making new cloned bodies?

This. He's one of those bard archetypes that is all about conning people.

Don't you lose the ability to bypass a lot of divination stuff if people connect your identities? Being able to say "Nope, he's scrying for my social identity, and I'm in my vigilante identity, so he doesn't see shit." is a pretty big thing to lose.

I haven't seen the final version, though, so maybe they cut that out?

That's what it means to be a Warlord.

It sounds like the GM is giving you more opportunities to regain maneuvers and acquire glory.

>>46106338
I don't know much about Lupin, but I doubt he runs around singing and casting spells.
>>
>>46106343
If only I could regain maneuvers from being hit by misfired bullets

Thanks, it looks like I'll end up choosing between Bard and Investigator now. Sleuth seems fun.

replace 'spells' with 'some invention he made up for this particular heist'
