Back in the beta, he was horribly overpowered for a 5-man fight.
Even then, his death speech seemed to imply he'd be back.
Blizz probably had something planned but it was cut because it probably would have required effort.

I rather like almost all of the minor Warcraft races. The only one I can think of that I don't much care for is the Hozen. They're just boring; just monkeys, no quirks about them at all to distinctify them.

Is Blizzard ever going to do anything with Hakkar again? I mean, in the revamped ZG, you have him imprisoned and you break him out.
So he's free and roaming around now.
Maybe give him a plague ability like the original one that can be unleashed in cities to kill thousands.

Excuse me for my cold reception, but as I'm sure you can tell, I am an extremely busy man. I see that you have impressed Calor--and I assure you, that is no small feat--and that he has given his recommendation.

There are unsavory types afoot, and we can use the help of all who have proven themselves. We battle against demons, the undead, and those who would provide them aid. Be vigilant, be wary, and trust none who would not give aid to our cause.

On an unrelated note, is there a proper and coherent timeline yet? I know that it's been 5 years since WoD in Legion, and that we apparently spent a year in relative peace from MoP to WoD, but most of the stuff before that has never been officially given a place on the timeline.

Anduin looks to be around twenty / twenty-one nowadays. We also spent a couple of years (or at least 1 - 2) on Draenor. It's never explicitly said during the questing, but the time between breaking out of Tanaan to settling the Garrison is about 3 months (could also be one, I forget).

Considering I roleplay my characters, I just use the real-life patch and expansion release dates for the storyline
>>

Patch dates are a bit messier. What with how long people spend farming raids at the end patch of an expansion.

Though I guess lasting 18 months would make the Siege of Orgrimar a proper siege.

>>
>>46050663
>I'm just not sure why the guy who was literally the ultimate Satan figure of the setting got turned into some Lawful Stupid greater good type

he's sort of always been like that. Back in War 3 he was wrecking the universe because he thought the Titans were being baddies for unnaturally ordering it. While the exact reason for him embarking on the burning crusade has changed its still basically the same thing; make the universe great again by burning it to the ground
>>

>>46050682

No, they just introduced them to it.
The Light is a cosmic force beyond realty.
>>

Well, he's not wrong about Uther being mistaken about what the Light is. What with it now being 'You can channel it with enough conviction, not actual righteousness'
>>
>>46050686
That was more of an understandable motivation in a Luciferish sort of way, though. A fallen champion who lost himself in evil, and wanted to destroy all his brothers once held dear.

The retcon turns him into a Space Marine, destroying everything for some Greater Good end. Only now he actually has a solid reason for it.

Belka drops the bomb.jpg

Lei Shen led his mogu host and the trolls to the west. The Zandalari had heard tales of the lands near Uldum, but they had never seen them with their own eyes. Pristine lakes and waterfalls dotted the region’s lush jungles. It was a paradise, teeming with undiscovered life and wonders as far as the eye could see. The full might of Lei Shen’s empire trampled over the land, stopping just short of the monolithic pyramids that composed the keepers’ bastion of Uldum. Only a small group of tol’vir emerged from the fortress to resist the mogu. Lei Shen mocked their numbers, for he knew that he alone could crush them. Indeed, the tol’vir had known that defeating the Thunder King’s forces in battle was impossible. As Lei Shen had marched toward Uldum, the titan-forged had prepared a final defense: the Forge of Origination locked beneath the fortress. Rather than using it to its full potential—which would eradicate all life on Azeroth—the tol’vir had configured the Forge of Origination to scour only the nearby land.

I love how Chronicles made the Tol'vir into Belka.

>>

>>
>>46051026

Which is kinda weird when you realize: There is officially more groups from the ALLIANCE side of the Second War in the new horde than there are Horde side groups.

The Blood Elves and Undead both were Alliance during the second war, the Trolls were not part of it (Wrong tribe), the Tauren are too new for it...

Yet somehow they try to go like it's culturally 100% Orcish Horde.
>>
>>46051036
>>46051034

Oh yeah, I know that. Hence why it was 100% hypothetical.

But I'm mostly just sad that you can't get Warden armour as a Rogue or even Warrior in WoW. That shit was stylish.

>>
>>46051306
lorewise: constant horde trespassing and logging in Ashenvale led them to break off ties with the Horde. Since they were now solely allied to the Alliance (well that and their more traditional allies like Furbolgs) they natural aligned further with the Alliance, especially thanks to Jaina's work. It's worth considering that in the warcraft universe, humans are natural diplomats, and that probably has something to do with it too

Gameplay: it's easier to balance two factions, and the night elves fit the alliance better than the horde

It's even worse now with the D2 Necromancer who manages to do DOT fantastically well with his Poison Nova. Warlocks are fucking great, the untrusted reason is most of the reason i started. Especially old skool warlocks, when Doomguards sacrifice a player to summon, your Infernal was a beast if it got unleashed, and most of your utility is based on sapping your resources because you Life Tapped to near death.

It inspired a kind of 'Warlocks are bad, but theyll probably get themselves killed anyway' feeling. If anything, Warlocks deserved a big uniform agency like Druids or Pallies, just for the danger factor. Not just orcs and goblins trading Voidwalker chants and arguing over if da Troll's Succubus is bigga den da Gnome's

blizzard should implement some item in each expansion that would boost the ilvl of previously earned epixx so we at least could go "Yeah.. I've had this axe since I started a few years back. It has slain Illidan, Deathwing and even bathed in the sha of prides blood.
And it does whisper to me at night"

Reminds me a little of the dragon-forged system from Dragon's Dogma. Kill a dragon with a weapon, and it has a chance to become dragon-forged, giving stats better than it could otherwise obtain with normal upgrades.

At the very least, it would have nice if blizzard had allowed legendary weapons like Thunderyfury to be upgraded.

it depends. Generally speaking, better items turn out better than mediocre items when they're both dragonforged, but some poor items end up getting really large boosts.
Having said that, even fairly ordinary weapons are very very good when dragonforged, and were good enough for the end game content until the DLC arrived.

Overall I think its a decent concept, and I feel blizzard should have used some sort of system to keep the iconic weapons of wow in play during later levels

>Lunara
I think their biggest mistake was making her mechanics 100% poison-related. You pretty much have to pick her +damage and +attack speed talents if you want to have any viability for actually taking heroes down before they just run off and heal.

That, and 20% movement speed boost is nothing, considering she can't speed up and go into mount mode. Valla can mount, but also gains the same speed boost when she's got maximum Hatred. Zagara can mount, but also gains that speed boost while standing on Creep. Hammer -can't- mount like Lunara, but her temporary 60% movement speed boost is way more useful than a passive 20% one.

>>46051600

I don't see the SJW influence on her. She's just the vengeful, capricious side of nature that demands a broken bone for every broken branch, and a fallen foe for each chopped-down tree. Not practical by any means, but fey creatures don't tend to be.

she's too auto attack focused for how crap her auto attacks are. The two *good* ranged auto-attackers get a range bonus in the first 4 levels (Raynor natively, Zagara as a talent), Lunara doesn't even get Nexus Frenzy (not that you would take it if she did because her ult upgrades are actually good). if they gave her a passive 20% range bonus like Raynor, or a talent for it at 1 or 4, and moved Wisp to the 1 key like Xul's Bone Armour to replace it with something good, she'd be great

You'd have level 60 paladins telling young heroes of their battles in far-off lands against Horde savages and mysterious threats, or old friends from Khaz-Modan reminiscing about their days in the Second War.

Not to devolve further into non-lore/non-RPG-related stuff, but according to some, Lunara is one of the top picks because of how she can harass enemy teams by just popping in with a couple poisoned spears and then prancing a way, nickel-and-diming them to death whenever they're away from their supports- and otherwise causing supports to go OOM faster.

She still feels boring to play, though. I thought she'd be a hero with unprecedented mobility, making her harassing techniques all the more effective- but nah. 20% movement speed, no mount.

Garithos would hang himself. I guess playing a Garithos Human Paladin that only groups with humans would be fun, but it only goes so far. And if you could go the exact same thing with an Orc with a Garrosh mindset.

Pandaria was great, Asian themes were a breath of fresh air and it allowed them to introduce some new lore rather than rehashing WC3 or going into space. Also had great music.

As for the Pandaren themselves, I am getting pretty tired of the "balance in all things" shtick that every Asian fantasy race has. I also wish they were a bit more "bear-mode" rather than just being fat; they can be fat too, but they should be fucking buff so they still look powerful. Now, I feel they're just too exotic, out of touch with everything the world they live in. And that's an achievement in a world where literal extraterrestrials run around.

Seems pretty analogous with Malfurion, then. Both obviously would favor their side if it came down to it but are functionally neutral.

Man, Thrall was cool as Warchief, I wish they hadn't ruined his character.

I just wish we knew what the hell happened to the alternate universe's Doomhammer. Is it still sitting at the bottom of the ocean? Is some chucklefuck fisherman running around smiting Orcs with a big grin on his face?
>>
>>46057477
Nope. Metzen has been pretty hands-off of WoW, his attention was on Titan (which didn't pan out), and now on Overwatch.

Which is especially ironic because Thrall is essentially Moses.

That's something they should have done more with. I know the orcs have the big green proud warrior race thing going for them, but I kind of like the idea that a substantial portion of the Orcish Horde revere him, close to the point of outright worship.

The flooding of the southfury in Cataclysm gave me the idea that the orcs had started redirecting the river for irrigation projects to make Durotar more habitable. Thrall is caught between two sides; on one hand, it'll help the Horde grow stronger, and there's a lot of orcs for it (especially with the Orcish baby boom after getting settled in Durotar), on the other hand, there's a substantial factions of traditionalists for whom Durotar is "The Promised Land" and should be taken as it is; and these are the people who have the most support for Thrall and help him reign in the more aggressive clans like the Warsong, so he can't afford to offend them.

Stuff like that. I'd love to deepen the Warcraft lore, make everything more complicated and stuff.

Well, who wouldn't? They're freaking lame and it's not like the faction of players who puked out Goldshire deserve any sort of dignity or respect anyway.

Feel free to join a real faction when you get tried of being punked with the rest of the losers.

>First the Alliance gets fucked in WC1 then Alliance gets fucked in WC3

I've seen people cry about Horde bias and I've found some of those complaints to be well-founded. This, however, takes it to a whole new level.

The Alliance didn't exist in WC1, regardless of what the movie says.

By your logic, the Alliance needs to CONSTANTLY win for Blizzard to not hate them. So, because the orcs win in WC1 and Lordaeron is destroyed by undead in WC3, means Blizzard hates the Alliance? If they truly hated the Alliance, how do you explain WC2?

Jesus Christ, you retarded Alliance fanboys are taking this shit to a whole new level.

We literally spent the last two expansions killing orcs (Metzen's pet race, according to every retard on 4chan who considers himself a lore expert) and there hasn't been a single positive development for the race since TBC. Supposedly, this is Horde bias, though.

And of course all of this happened about the time Kosak came on board....

Guess you had too much orc dick in your mouth you completely missed the entirety of Cataclysm being a massive Horde wankfest.

What has the Alliance, nay Humanity, lost so far in terms of holdings or potential holdings and allies?

The entirety of Gilneas, Stormgarde, Theramore, Southshore, what else?
