>>46042375
Let's try and be original this time.
>>
>>46042342
What kind of flavor are we going for? Because jungle and desert teach different things.

Jungle teaches close-quarters, silence, active hunting and paranoia that the enemy could be anywhere, even above you.

Desert teaches patient survivalism, how to withstand heat and conserve water, exploiting the most meager of resources to stay alive, and how to hit targets at long range.

I'm personally fine with operator Marines. Just not Marines Malevolent. And last I checked, Night Lords were terrorists, not operators.
>>
>>46042533
The difference between an operator and a terrorist is perception.

Both can be massive bloodthirsty douche hoses regardless.

>>46042618
Kek

If I'm being honest professionalism and training are big factors, as is doctrine and usually motivation. But look at some south american groups in the 80's. With some training and equipment we totally did not give them, a simple gang be as as sneaky beaky as Delta Force if they're good enough and keep the press of their backs.

>>46042662
No, but look at the Spetznaz. Those fuckers genuinely enjoy killing people.
>>
>>46042738
Busy too man, really I should be working. But here I am on 4chan!

You make some good points, and considering that these are highly trained Non-Compliant Marines, they'd do even better than a gang with guns.

Good point about the Spetsnaz.
>>
>>46042831

Feral Desert Worlders who rule Directly, Stand Alone, are Cursed, Siege Masters, have Modified Jump Packs, and are friends with the Adeptus Arbites and are enemies with Orks.

This seems cool, and we need to make something of it.

List of names:
Flying Fists
Desert Fists
Lone Fists
Jungle Fists lolwut?
Furious Fists
Stone Fists
Sand Fists.
Fisty Fists

Any of these sound good?

The Orks smell something's off...smells like blood.

Wait, everything smells like blood.

Then there's a pop. It's not a gunshot, it's a pop.

Then Gutkickas head explodes.

They don't even know where they came from but there they are. Marines everywhere, laying down bolter fire and making their way to the Warboss's hut.

Breach. Flash Bang. Room clear.

The Sergeant gets locked in Melee but a battle brother send a bolt through the Orks head.

Then they're gone.

Got it. Working on it.

>>46047504
Lost Zygote. I just realized we had rolled on Flaws, instead of Mutations.

Silly me!
>>
Rolled 8 (1d100)

Rolling on what zygote we lost here:

>>46047534
>PANIC

>>46047534
Jebus.

You should re-roll for flaws tho, Cursed Founding. Unless we want to come up with something.

Personally I want these guys to be all about hearts and minds. By ripping them out.
>>
>>46047561
>No Catalepsean Node
Our Marines have sleeping problems.

Time to start popping pills.
>>
>>46047561
So, what Zygote have we lost?

>>46047576
We got We Stand Alone. We could re-roll if you want. Almost done with your scheme as requested.
>>
>>46047591
Let's just keep the We Stand Alone part. Means they have a hard time making any allies at all.

Combine this with gloryhound tendencies, and the Marines can be somewhat self-righteous in their suffering. On one hand, they rub it in others faces how much worse they've fared with fewer allies. On the other hand, air support would've been really good sometimes.
>>
>>46047591
>>46047585
>>46047561
Seriously, as great as PTSD ridden insomnia Marines are, and might actually fuel some of the crazy edginess I want for some reason, would anyone mind if we re-rolled? Taking pills is better than no Black Carapace, if that pops up tho.

>>46047591
That makes them super prideful right? Or no one will work with them?
>>
Rolled 32 (1d100)

>>46047629
Let's see if this reroll gets a more interesting result.

>>46047629
I don't mind if we re-rolled it.

It means that they're not trusted for some reason.

Here's the alternate color-scheme.
>>
Rolled 6 (1d10)

>>46047650
It's supposed to be a d10, but Pride in the Colors.

Also, someone should add an extra tabke for rolling lost zygotes. Would be useful.
>>
Rolled 56 (1d100)

>>46047682
Woops, was rolling for lost zygote, meant d100.

Also, meant thats someone should add the lost zygote table to the wiki.
>>
>>46047651
I think untrustworthy Insomnia Marines works well.

The scheme works well, I just have to through it into photo shop and give it camo stripes
>>
>>46047702
>>46047650
So either we lose the Occulobe or the Oolitic Kidney.

Basically, our Marines either only see like normal people, or they can't digest all kinds of poisons and toxins along with a bunch of other circulatory system-related problems
>>
>>46047738
Maybe they're untrustworthy because they're gloryhounds? Like, other Marines shit on them, so they fight for glory, which makes them more untrustworthy, which makes them want bigger glory, and so on.
>>
>>46047746
Let's just go with Insomnia and or We Stand Alone.
>>
>>46047738
Thanks, glad you like it.

>>46047769
Agreed.
>>
>>46047768
That works, very Hoorah.

But maybe part of the reason they are disliked is because of excessive brutality and over zealous destruction when using tanks.

Also before I go to bed their allies should be the following:
>Harakoni Warhawks
>Catachan Jungle Fighters
>Adeptus Mechanicus
>Raptors
>Mantis Warriors

Dislike
>Talaran Rough Riders
>Basically anything even remotely middle eastern themed
>Their Progenitors. Dorn was based though. Based Dorn.

Enemies
>Orks, especially Kommandos and whatever the most savage Klan is
>Cultists of Slaanesh/Khorne
>Dark Eldar
>>
>>46047867
>Dislike Tallarn
Shouldn't they feel some measure of sympathy because they both come from desert planets? And Tallarn is also full of fanatics?

And I think they'd hate Raptors because they perceive them as cowardly and unglorious.

I don't get why they wouldn't like their Progenitors. Maybe the other Imperial Fists Succesor Chapters like an unfriendly rivalry sort of thing, but not sure about the actual Fists themselves.
Meh, you proabably know more than I, could be referencing something I just don't get.

Oh, and I messed around with the wargear, I thought it looked cool.

G'night all.
>>
>>46047978
They see themselves as the true sons of dorn? They see IF and CF as cowards cowering behind walls. But i cant make a reason for black templars
>>
>>46049515
Idiots with zero tactical prowess.
>>
>>46050581
Dude, shit, Ricci did his stuff again. I get where he's coming from, but I don't think it's a big enough deal and that big of a stretch to imagine the ship crashing
>>
>>46050581
Makes sense, I suppose.

I'm going to be gone all day until around 4 PST. Got a small business trip I need to go on.

Prophetic OP image is prophetic
>>
Bump for the Bump God
>>
>>46058037
Yo, man, I don't mean to be a cock, but instead of just bumping, you could try to generate conversation with a question or an idea or something
>>
>>46058125
Well, I'm making a cgapter right now and handling that at the moment... I just want to keep this alive cause both chapters are interesting and could be interestingly connected
>>
>>46058255
You're the alpha legion OP? I'm doing a bolter and chainsword right now for it
>>
>>46058369
Indeed I am, can't wait to see it!
>>
>>46058533
Its up there, guy
>>
I rolled once then dipped.

So these guys are Raptors but shifty glory Hounds.

The idea has promise but it needs to get fleshed out.
>>
>>46061519
Looks like interest died considerably
>>
I'll bump this for the OP, that and if this gets traction we can interact our chapters, it could be interesting
>>
Bump for a great idea. Will contribute once my phone isn't kill.
>>
>>46052847
Indeed it is.

I'm back, traffic was ridiculous.

Now get back here, ya gits! We gots ta begin fluffen!
No Ork Kommandos here, eh boss!
>>
Hooray! The OP lives!

Hope the chapter goes well, I'll try to contribute where necassary, but I have the fluffing of our chapter over yonder, also related to the Imperial fists. Hopefully, if we both get good traction, there can even be some collaboration eventually
>>
>>46066139
Hopefully. Sadly, I'm going to have to go in a couple hours, I have to go to work extra-early tomorrow, one of the new guys is sick, so they're having me take his post for the day.

But anyways, has anyone any relevant questions/ideas we could use to start these guys off?
>>
What has led them to dislike the Imperial fists? Do they still attend thee feast of blades? Even if only to try and efeat the fists?
>>
>>46067141
IGNORE NAME! NOT OP!
>>
>>46067141
Probably not, these guys are pretty much treated with suspicion and mistrust
>>
Bump. I really want to use these guys for a Deathwatch game.

Dude, if you want to do something with them, contribute to the discussion. Don't just keep bumping incessantly like anons above.

Here's some questions for ya'll to answer:
>Size of the chapter fleet?
>Thoughts on psykers?
>Opinions on other chapters?
>Which craftworld did they fuck up?
>How do they compensate for their insomnia?
>Relations with their allies?
>Do we keep the allies as Arbites or switch to Admech?
>Chapter symbols?
>Chapter relics?
>Masochism: yay or nay?
>>
>>46068867
Size of the chapter fleet? I can't say, but they have gun ships out the ass.

Fuck psykers get money.

Raptors are cool, Lamentors are cool, Ravens Guard and their kids are cool, basically any sneaky beaky dudes. Or chapters that are willing to teach a Cursed Founding chapter how to do their job better.

Craft world? Our enemies are orcs. Commandos versus Komandoz

Their allies know that they like to go in sneaky but when shit hits the fan, IT HITS THE FAN HARD. For everyone involved.

For allies look at Arbites Anon >>46047867

>>46068867
Admech. That way the chapter can get the toys it needs. Like Stalker Bolters for every single marine and silenced jump packs.

Symbology? Something something Arakis.

Chapter relics? A Thunder hammer. Of someone. Other than that they have very little regard for themselves and aren't too sentimental about old gear. Although they do treat their gear with the upmost respect when deployed.

Masochistic? HOORAH.

Here's a thought though. What if for part of their Curse, and part of a reason they are A) Tacticool and B) Despised is that they have a tendency to relive the Iron Cage.

So their doctrine has evolved to where they go in sneaky so they don't get fucked. The second they have to Siege like their parents and brothers it's an Iron Caging. If they do get discovered or pinned the culture has evolved to where the Marines try and take everyone with them.
>>
>>46069282
Do they have Iron cage PTSD or something? Also, do they have a specific Kommando nemesis?
>>
>>46071781
No like it legitimately becomes an Iron Cage 2.0, their losses are ridiculous.
>>
Cliched chapter to the limit.
>>
>Nearly Heretical Gloryhound Desert Marines

Is their battle cry "WITNESS ME"?
>>
>>46074754
Fucking how?

And what would you do, then?

>>46075382
No its HOORAH
>>
>>46075382
What we have are insomniac gloryhound Space Marine Force Recon
>>
>>46077381
What we have is a dying concept.

Dune Hawks sound good?

>>46046950
It's a very fast seige.
>>
>>46087103
Dune Talons bruh. Although I wouldn't mind Dune Hawks, the talons thing reminds us that they are Handie boys.

And we don't Siege...well actually modern us Marines warfare can be seen as a kind of siege, I suppose.

Loom here though, I like this a lot >>46069282
