Is the Tower Standing Stone in Skyrim once a day like some of the others, or can you just open all but the very best of locks as many times as you want?

How evil is Omni Consumer Products? Are there a few insane people steering it in the wrong direction, or is it completely corrupt? I'm Jumping there to clean things up, Goodman style.

From the notes, it seems like we're actually buying the original Sommerswerd/Moonstone/etc, not copies made by Jump-chan? Am I reading that correctly? Isn't it kinda bad for the local cosmology if we run off with some of those?
>>
>>43851427
Most of column A, a little of column B. It's Stereotypical 80s-Style Evil Corporation, so if you take it over and clean up the executive/management, the rank and file minions will most likely fall into line with whatever new policies you set so long as you're not obviously eating kittens.

I have no idea who Saul Goodman is.

In that case, OCP is partly going down. At least the idea of reviving dead police officers and saving their lives is a good one. Especially if they're fundamentally good people like Robocop.

Walter White's lawyer from Breaking Bad. He's cheesy and openly crooked but really clever at winning cases. I took Ace Attorney as my first Jump and want to take the bad elements of OCP down with the legal system, and the Drop In perks give you lots of criminal connections. If I defend enough actually innocent friend of a friends, OCP will be taken apart.Ironically, I will have been making OCP better at fighting crime.

So, peoples opinion on my Jump from last thread?
>>
>>43851544
You're turned into a girl and start 'persuading' pirates to do your bidding. Male pirates at that. Not sure if torture or lewd. Or legitimate persuasion, though the ellipses before it makes that unlikely.

I do like the idea of getting Kuro out of retirement and learning his techniques. He was the cat claw guy right?

Other than that seems fine.
>>
Not so much torture, as repeated application of lightning and Conqueror's Haki until they do what i say.

Yeah, Kuro was the guy with the cat claws and what is basically the bastard version of one of CP9's techniques.
>>
>>43851654
Ah, the good old "I'm a badass, do what I say." approach. Nice.

Oh, and your Devil Fruit and Haki combination? That's awesome, and if you get your haki working through your electricity there'll be very few you can't beat... It can work through your own fruit's powers right? It's been ages since I read One Piece and can't remember if that works. Even if it doesn't you can just combine your use of the two mid-combat.

Question for Wild Card-this one's going to take some explaining.

So, over the aeons we've exploited the spiritual amalgamation that is our multiverse-body to perform a neat trick drawing mainly from the Evangelion, Percy Jackson, Symphonia and Supernatural angelic/divine aspects. Basically, we carve out a specialised portion of our soul, form it into a spiritual messenger and have it discretely integrate into powerful beings or entities in a setting, gestating within like a Shard. Using a symbiotic trick based on Borrowing from Discworld, the angel-Shard interfaces and analyses the host on a metaphysical level to experiment on replicating its abilities in exchange for granting a small measure of our power, all the while discretely guiding the host towards our plans. The more the host draws on our angel-Shard, the faster the astral synchronisation occurs. A sympathetic bond between the angel-Shard and one of our second or third circle souls also grants us data for upgrading our powerset and refining the vast amounts of hyperdimensional energy we generate into useful avenues. At the end of the gestation period the angel-Shard leaves its host once more with a bundle of assorted powers developed from the host and aspected towards ourself.

In light of this, our question is: How does Power of Dominance operate here? Are the pseudo-horcruxes still indestructible as soul-constructs, or are they rendered somewhat vulnerable from being separated from the main mass of our world-body and spiritual presence even though in a sense they are extensions of ourselves, just as fingernails are extensions of a human being?
>>
>>43851381
Also, can you change the extra standing stone bonus given by the Aetherial Crown? I imagine you can while still in Skyrim but would you lose that functionality once you can't get to the standing stones to attune it? (If that even works in the jump.)
>>
>>43851664
Observation Haki at least works with his powers, that's how he listened in to everything on Skypeia.

Luffy can use Armament Haki with his stretching, so there's precedent too.
>>
>>43851768
Luffy can use Armanent with his body. His stretching just applies on top of it. There's zero justification for Armanent somehow working with lightning or other elements.
>>
>>43851768
I remember that much. Just don't know if there's a canon example of someone using haki through a Logia element or something similar. I have the vaguest recollection of someone mentioning they have to reform to use armament haki, but I don't know if that was supported by canon, or they were just theorizing.
>>
>>43851786
Don't see anything like that on the wiki dude.
>>
>>43851786
Light guy gets around it by propelling himself with his power instead of always turning to light. Slightly slower but he can use his haki.
>>
Would the Glorious Repairs from the God Of War jump be enough to wake the Traveler in the Destiny jump (boosted by Champion's Prowess) in the time we have there?

Or would I have to do something crazy big like... use SAO's Like Riding A Bike to duplicate Glorious Repairs with Chronicles of Narnia's Witchcraft (Conjuration school specialty), amplified by perks like Negima's Gift Of The Thousand Master and powered by perks like Demon King Daimao's Demon King Power?

And how upset would the Darkness be with me?
>>
>>43851818
I think the latter would take less than 10 years unlike the former.

Also I think that would depend on which bits of the apparently ambiguous lore you choose to believe because IIRC several threads ago it was mentieond the Darkness and Traveler might be the same entity playing both sides or something. What I got out of it was that the lore's hazy enough to at least raise the possibility of the Traveler being an asshole too.
>>
>>43851848
Hmm, okay, well I've also got perks that let me know the true character of people I meet, so if it's an asshole I wouldn't be repairing it. Thanks.

Oh right, and a question for Hatter about The Witcher:

Precisely what happens if you start mixing the Elder Blood with...more esoteric forms of blood, like the pseudo-genetics of Bayonetta Angels? Or the umbilica cords of the Great Ones? Or good ol' LCL?
>>
>>43851810

Final Skyrim question for the night, if you find Arvak's skull in jump can you summon him post jump or do you need to buy the skull for CP for it to keep working?
>>
>>43851544
Considering that plan name, it's all for the Straw Hats, right? Would they even be the same group? Been a while but IIRC Sanji and Usopp joined partly because they fought their enemies together with Luffy.

And I don't think you'd even need to use force to persuade them to join. I know if I was a two-bit pirate in East Blue, I'd do whatever the #1 most wanted pirate says.
>>
>>43849054
I think it's reasonable to say that you can get the letter reissued if you travel to a new setting with it. Nothing else stops working when you Jump, after all. Just remember to follow the rules - always pay 10%, and only plunder their enemies.
>>
>>43851890
The wiki explicitly says that the reason some Logias remain uninjured is because they extend their Haki throughout their body, and nothing about this inability to use Armament while Logia'ing.

>>43851945
As one of, if not the, the strongest pirates in East Blue, i'll naturally be sending out men to collect...Payment. Such places include the Baratie, and Syrup Island.

Tell me, do you think People such as Krieg, the man with the biggest ego in the world, or Arlong, the human hating raceist, would willingly sign up with me?

Admittedly, Kuro joined up for pretty much the reason you listed, but it took a couple hours of talking.
>>
>>43851993
*Racist
>>
>>43851478
yeah, it A. fucks the entire setting completely and utterly and B. is fucking ridiculous you can buy them anyway, the moonstone is easily one of the top five most powerful items you can encounter anywhere. Just leaving it sitting on a shelf for a year or so is enough to turn everyone in a kingdom the size of north america into immortal supermen, and that's just leaving it there! Fuck knows what someone with half an idea could do with it.
>>
>>43851993
The wiki seems to be talking out of it's ass then. Logia's don't need haki to remain uninjured, that;s their natural power as logias. Not to mention noone's even shown the ability to use armament with logia stuff active.
>>
>>43846556

First get Otto Von Beersmark from WHFB, import him into rwby and pick up whatever the perk in that was called, nice quirky guy or whatever, that nets him about 600 cp per jump, then go to slice of life which I think has a companion that gets +200 cp per jump for themselves. Get him that and you now have an Halfling great white hunter/ WW1 era general and his savage orc bagman/shaman as a buddy.
>>
>They're making that evil bitch Sylvannas warchief in the new WoW expansion
Disgusting.
>>
>>43851702
Ah, I didn't even see this. Long story short, Power of Dominance's secondary effect was mostly intended to be fluff - a little side effect from being a master of souls. It's intended to work on things like demons or other Power of Dominance users - when I designed it, I never intended it to grant total immunity to damage if you choose to become a spiritual entity.

So for all Power of Dominance-related questions, I'm going to say "think of it as an impregnable castle." If you invite someone into your castle, or leave it, it won't protect you. Similarly, if you're capable of separating out pieces of yourself to go on missions outside of it, the castle won't protect them.
>>
>>43851980

Hey, how do the generic guys who crew your ship work post-Jump? Can you send them back their world eventually? Are they trapped on the ship forever? Or am I, like, dooming them to some sort of transdimensional Flying Dutchman thing?
>>
>>43852097
>Similarly, if you're capable of separating out pieces of yourself to go on missions outside of it, the castle won't protect them.
This is pretty dumb, frankly. If you had absolute defense, for example, that'd apply to your arms too. It makes no sense for it not to.
>>
>>43852065
i don't know the others but at-least in the one in 9to5 i'm pretty sure you can't import an existing companion, and honestly it seems pretty broken.
>>
>>43852097
Also, I disagree with
> If you invite someone into your castle, or leave it, it won't protect you
In regards to corruption. I'm not talking about the 'immune to damage' thing he's trying to do, but the idea that they can fuck around with your soul in that position is idiotic.
>>
>>43852104
It makes complete sense the way he describes it.
>>
>>43852058
Sorry, I meant, use Haki to remain uninjured when fighting against others with Haki.

Just because they haven't used Haki while in Logia state, doesn't mean they cant.
>>
>>43852110
>This doesn't make sense because x
>NUH UH IT MAKES SENSE
Try harder.
>>
>>43852109
I imagine WC is saying that the shard wouldn't be incorruptable, but the bulk of ASA's soul would be. That's why the castle metaphore works: he's safe in his castle, his forces he sent out of the castle are not.
>>
>>43852119
No, that part of the metaphor is separate. Re-read his post, he's not talking about the 'sending people out' stupidity.

The entire metaphor is janky, by the way. So using it to counter me when I'm disagreeing with the entire thing is not a very effective method.
>>
>>43852109
>>43852127
The "inviting people in" part deals with to choosing to allow people to harm your soul. The perk expressly allows harm to your soul which you consented to. For example, if you sell your soul to a demon, then Power of Dominance cannot and never has protected you. Or if you try to consume a soul which is too strong for you - you invited it in, which is why even though you might not want it to hurt you, it can still damage your soul. You can let it go, but the perk even warns you that your soul can be damaged if you bite off more than you can chew.

Corruption, on the other hand, works more like someone trying to sap your walls. The castle's impregnable, so unless you give them an in, that's not happening.
>>
>>43852159
Consider the Power of Dominance and the person who use it manifest as eating souls to gain powers. The idea that the power wouldn't protect you from the souls you consumed using it would make its defenses largely irrelevant since it's now self-defeating.

This is why your castle metaphor largely falls apart in relation to this. It doesn't make sense. Damage is not the matter of discussion, but corruption. The power itself should not allow souls you ate to corrupt you like you keep implying (Damage is fine, I will restate this to show you I'm not disagreeing with that element).

As far as demon contracts, the demon isn't 'hurting' your soul, it's 'holding it'. So it's outside of this discussion as well. If your arm can't be destroyed, that doesn't stop people from picking it up and possessing it, which is the idea with selling your soul.

So, maybe all the good eats had me in a foody state of mind, but I realized something: I do not want to have to eat bland-ass medieval European food in all those fantasy settings I intended to go to pretty early. I was going to ask if there was some source of unlimited spices. Then I remembered we have Cooking Show Jump. I rechecked it and there it is, at only 50 points. Thank you jumpmaker.
And I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving everyone.

and of course it starts with a joke about over-spicing your food. I- I probably do...

>>
>>43852247
As an Italian from Italy i think that's a pretty ok classification, the only things that bug me is being clumped together with France
>>
>>43852178
It expressly doesn't protect against the souls you consume. You have to bend them to your will. Once a soul has been conquered and has yielded to your power, it will no longer attempt to harm you, but I think I made it pretty clear that you can be harmed during the process.

Since a captured soul won't attempt to corrupt you, anything related to that is a moot point. On the other hand, there are other ways to give someone an "in" into your soul, and if you do, they can use it to get greater access as long as that's within their power set.

Also, I think we have very different ideas about what demons do when they buy souls. Ever read the Screwtape Letters, for example? Know what Soulsteel is?

>>43852212
On another note, I'd kind of like to see a Cooking Contest jump or gauntlet. Think it falls too much into this one's territory?
>>

>>
>Cooking

>>
>>43852287
We aren't talking about 'harm', but corruption. I stated this like three times, but you still conflate them. It doesn't really make sense for what you consume to be able to corrupt you. That is my entire point, I didn't question damage.

I haven't read this very specific piece of media you're talking about, I'm discussing the basic idea of selling your soul. Sort of the default understanding of it (demon gets to take your soul to hell).
>>
>>43852290
I don't think it's very obscure, they're pretty iconic.
>>

>>43852313
I choose to blame WoW's PR department. I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I'm pretty sure the reason why she's warchief is the same reason for the iconic night elf chainmail biki/bootless shinguards design: To market hot elves to lonely neckbeards.
>>
>>43852346
Yes, by Sylvannus is an author's pet. No matter how horrible and evil she is, they keep trying to make her a hero.
>>
>>43852301
Sorry, thought I was clear. Souls you consume with Power of Dominance will not attempt to corrupt you. They may try to flee, or lash out to get you to release them, but they are not capable of pretending to submit, then turning around later and trying to corrupt you from within. Once they give up, they're yours.

At least with the version you buy. No guarantees for anyone pulling a Dmitrii.

If that doesn't address your concern, can you explain what you mean a little bit better? I'm not sure what you mean by corruption except "twisting, warping, or otherwise reshaping your soul, or trying to gain control over it."

>>
>>43852411
Alucard can summon any souls he's eaten and it's implied his immortality is due to the massive amount of souls inside him (everytime he "dies", a soul dies instead).

I think the Middle East and India are so distinct they shouldn't be lumped in with East Asia. They really have nothing in common ethnically or culturally.

Regardless, African food is basically really simple peasant food. It's like if Europe never had the wealth or luxury of developing a food culture, and all that we got from them was the stews and gruels that peasants ate. It might not taste bad, but it's not varied or interesting either.
>>
>>43852504
There is none, really. In Hellsing it's easier to tell beacuse the bad guys have a tendency to go HURR HURR HURR, SKULLFUCKINGS FOR EVERYONE. COME HERE, GHOUL at the nearest opportunity. In settings that aren't self-aware shounen mangas it's obviously a lot less clear cut.
>>
>>43852504

True Lies, "They were all bad."
>>
>>43852212
Okay so this has a pretty clear bias towards the US. Creole and Southern each get their own perks (which is ridiculous in and of itself unless this was a Southern US Cooking jump or had about a million options) but Asian only gets one and presumably includes the entire sub-continent of India, China, Japan, Thailand, the Middle East, a lot of other countries and well over half the population of the world.

Secondly you have Mediterranean which itself describes middle-eastern food+olive oil and then proceed to mention Italy as one of the two examples of countries in the old world option. Italy is a Mediterranean country.

Thirdly, Germany is also in the old world and the national festival of Oktoberfest has no place being in a cooking jump.

Overall there's not enough here to salvage. I think someone tried this before and it was bad then as well.

While under ordinary circumstances I'd agree, it's a broadly-worded perk and there's no option for cuisine hailing anywhere from the Indian subcontinent, nor the Middle East. Unless you count Mediterranean?

Anyway, not going to argue about African cuisine - de gustibus non disputandum and all that jazz. But I definitely like my Ethiopian, and I'd certainly spend 100 CP on it. Or, you know, get it for free.

Nobody even said anything particularly positive about Asia. Just more that maybe that massive place with more people than any other that nearly all spices came from should have gotten more perks than the Southern US.

Hell if it'd been split into continent (it would have probably still been shit but) nobody'd be complaining about there being an Asia perk. Everybody would instead be asking why anyone would ever choose Africa or Australia.

How? She was forced to use plague in Cataclysm. All she had was the Forsaken and a handful of Orcs. Where Gilneas had help from all the Alliance. She helped in the attack against Garrosh. She even mentioned to be an ally of Vol'jin, and while it's not the friendliest of relationships she respects Vol'jin more than she ever did with Garrosh. She was also against attacking Theramore. She even saves the life Stormwind's former king in assault of Broken Isles.

At first she was a cold heart bitch but since her death in Catacylsm she start seeing her people as only way she'll not end up on Oblivion.

Elf creation. The plague was originally Scourge's. They just improved it and only used it once against Gilneas because the Worgen curse, Alliance backup, and needing to rule all of Loderan.

>>43853278
She created it for the Lich King. Besides she can't replace troops like other races. Undead don't reproduce, so she has to use the living to make more Forsaken.

At first they were meat shields but from the spoilers in Legion it seems that she might risk her own soul for the Forsaken. She views the Forsaken as her people, and without her they'll die. She's like Blade Of Queens, but unlike her she doesn't get as much Deus Ex Machina. She's only attacks her faction's enemies.
>>
>>43853365
She doesn't have to do anything. Damning more people to the life her and the original Forsaken despised so much is all she's doing, just so she can preserve power. If she had any nobility, she'd let the Forsaken fade away peacefully instead of holding greedily onto her power.

>transcription of higher order meta-energy into a physical record, somewhat akin to Dust of Osiris' Philosopher's Stones
Ah yes. We had a chat about that particular concept with Sion once she figured it out. Interesting, but ultimately better achieved with likes of Song Science and Tonal Architecture, often employed by yours truly. Same results, less fragility.

And indeed. All terms with a similar meaning carry connotations with them, and "uplifting" doesn't really do it justice, does it?

>Dark Binding or Power of Dominance, both of which we understand to be agonising
First, there is really no reason for the two to be painful, especially in the case of Dark Binding. Second, the main vector I employ is actually the Einherjar system from Valkyrie Profile, which specifies the souls to be completely fine and conscious. While somewhat rigid, it is still the method that provides the most opportunity, and by fusing the three perks above, one achieves the most capability, getting the souls, their power AND their deployment support.

If you're wondering where the souls happen to be from, it's from planting the Iifa Tree in every jump possible. On our planet, 50 million people die every year, with no major wars. In many jumps, that amount would be even bigger.

>for ordinary souls it would be like walking into a supernova
While this body of mine is not entirely different in its energy output (and I can't believe I forgot to mention about also having included wave science into myself) – truly, it is not that difficult of a riddle to solve for one such as you, is it now?

Magic plague creates mostly mindless undead. It did a two fold, it killed those that weren't Worgan, and it created shock troops. Valky'r then goes through ressurecting the fallen Forsaken, and raising new ones. They're given a choice to serve their Queen or to stay dead.

>>43853692
Sure there's nothing natural about them, but that isn't a bad thing. They're "alive" they have their own culture, language, and religion. Just they can't reproduce normally, so they have to resort to Valky'r to make more. Before they would have to wait until a Forsaken wake up, which was pretty random. The Valky'r can do it faster.

There's still a lot of threats to their way of life. Especially with the Legion returning, the Forsaken are going to be needed more than ever.
>>
>>43853899
Their reproduction involves murdering people, gang pressing them to their faction as zombies, and damning them for eternity. From what Sylvannus saw when she got killed, undead do not get to go to the nice afterlife because of their condition. So what she's doing is entirely abhorrent even beyond the simple murder aspect.

I know you're an edgy retard Fist, but you could at least admit you want to fuck the dead elf and like edginess for its own sake instead of trying to defend them. There is nothing the Forsaken do that is defensible in the least.

Indeed. And reinforcement is too narrow in scope, ascension has the wrong connotations, reconfiguration makes one sound like a nerd-you just can't win talking about this stuff

>no reason for the two to be painful

Ah, fair enough-we were under the impression those were inherently agonising for some reason. Lot of work for a tree though. In intergalactic jumps or jumps with huge landmasses we can only presume your journey is accompanied by inexplicable forest blooms.

>not that difficult

True. Isolate a 5 dimension boundary within one of the less volatile universes i.e. one without any nasty meta-elements mixed in its conception, quantum lock it and adjust fundamental constants-SURVIVAL is certainly arrangeable with sufficiently nuanced soul constructs. But we ran some simulations and foresaw that eventually assuming a Culture-like society eventually forms, a Lovecraftian horror reaction on a species-wide scale would occur if and when it's allowed to expand beyond this comfort zone. So it's either investing in the illusion that there's nothing beyond their boundaries with mad sociology/genjutsu or going the other way and converting them into a technological singularity capable of symbiosis with our cosmic principle-which, according to some of our companions, would miss the point.

It's like owning goldfish; they can be happy and healthy, but they're done for if they keep hitting their heads against the bowl.

Well, one tree can pretty much cover the whole planet, so no problem - one tree per a civilization bearing mass (ship, planet, etc.) is far from a burden.

Gathering souls galaxy-wide? I... Haven't actually figured that one out yet. Guess I have my next project. Any ideas?

>Goldfish conundrum
It seems perfectly possible to "ascend" their minds without making them a singularity or a hivemind. But at that point, every single person in question becomes a protagonist-tier entity and you become a pseudo Benefactor, at which point handling them might become tedious, as I have found out after running my own tests with the Pink Tide.

Imagine - eight billion entities, each of them a Protagonist of their own story in both minds and abilities, all in one universe/galaxy/solar system. Glorious, but not to everyone's tastes.

How you know there was an afterlife besides Oblivion? She doesn't murder humans, that would imply she's sneaking about in Stormwind picking off civilians. Most the Forsaken that were raised were either already dead & buried (Tristanfall Cemetary) or they were former enemies that died in combat.

I don't want to fuck Sylvanas. My edginess allows me to see the plight of the Forsaken. They're formerly-living people, but people none of the less. For the record I also like the Blood Elves. Also I've always liked the Dwarves. If I had it my way, Dwarves would be part the Horde. Sure they don't really fit in, but they'd bring some much needed Dwarfiness to the Horde.

My favorite fantasy race are Dwarves. Which is why I pick to play them most the time. Or in Dark Sun, Muls work as well. Muls are (Father) half-dwarf/half-human (Mother). They're tall like a human if not taller, but wide and strong as a dwarf. Also completely bald, like Athasian Dwarves.

In Athas Dwarves are bald due to A.) Tradition, B.) Desert climate. Borys the Dwarf Slayer later The Dragon, was incharge of genociding the Dwarves back in the Green Age. He failed, but did manage to kill the Dwarven King. Out of mourning and as a sign of their failure they shaved their beards and their heads. This practiced lived on, and any body hair is seen as a sign of ugliness. They even apply powder to newborns to make sure any hair particles are destroyed. Including eyebrows. The exception are eyelashes which I think are thicker than normal to keep sand and silt out the eye like a camel.

Gotta love Dwarves.
>>
>>43854176
>They're formerly-living people, but people none of the less.

So that obviously justifies their murder-and-raising scheme to create more Forsaken, eh?
I love how you're pointedly forgetting the several short stories made about Sylvanas which pretty much out-and-out admit that she's only creating more Forsaken so she has meatshields to keep her from dying and being sent to the same damn place Arthas is rotting. 'Arrows in her quiver' and all that, she's only making more Forsaken to keep her own skin in unlife.

You say it's because you don't want to fuck Sylvanas, but forgetting details like that doesn't help your case.

I like Sylvanas as a character. I like way she runs things, even if she keeps questionable company. I don't like her personality, arrogant, cold, and bitter. Don't like the undead look either, cold dead flesh. Now I did like the Lich King, before they decided that he was trying to off himself. I always looked forward for him to show up, gloat, then disappear. Or when you were fighting Frostmourne, and he suddenly shows up. If you fall behind he kills you instantly. However he's casually walking, and occasionally throwing ice barriers. Then in final fight he was just toying with everyone, and killed the entire raid only for the raid to be rescued. The line of "There always must be a Lich-King." Was pretty stupid. Honestly I would've just kicked Arthas' ass back into Frozen Throne, instead of killing him, then replacing him. If Arthas was that miserable as the LK, killing him and releasing his soul was a favor.
>>
>>43854176
>or they were former enemies that died in combat.
So people she killed. And people who were already dead don't want to be forced into her service either.

Not once in any of my posts have I said the Forsaken should give up and die. I said that they shouldn't create more. The ones that are still alive should continue living as long as they can, sure. But as their numbers dwindle, and they will, they need to retreat to smaller and smaller holds instead of trying to control the entire land. There's no justifiable reason for it except thirst for power.

>>43854209
I've acknowledged that. However from the spoilers in Legion it's hinting at she no longer feels that way. After dying the second time and chatting with shota Arthas' spirit she released that her people are what's important. As the spoilers go she might risk her soul for the continuance of her people.

We'll have to see. I know she sees her people for longest time as meatshields against the void of Oblivion. However in treating them like that, they've been treated a lot better than when they were alive. Where they were sent off to die for nothing, or were bretayed by their own rulers.

Although this does raises me a question for my chain. Do I wish to pod Sylvanas, or maybe even LK. If I can convince them to join me. What use would I have for them. Only time vast armies of undead would be helpful would be like in Dogs of War & Light of Terra. Yet I think I can be a better Lich King than the Lich King and be a better, kinder ruler than Sylvanas.

Then there's the personalities. Arrogance doesn't work together with itself, and I have enough cajones that neither would be a good companion. So in short I think for average Jumper and for me in particularly they're not pod-worthy.

Failing that, we believe your best course is to look into a synthesis of portals, magitech and actual stargates.

LEGO, Legend of Spyro and Wakfu all have excellent options for portals. But you'll still need forms of purely scientific FTL for breadth; Not a Stupid Grunt from Mass Effect and Rocket Science from Futurama spring to mind to create portals mounted on mass relays and then move them into position. Following that, a magitech perk-Magitek Mastery from FF6 is preferable given the crucial step here is to integrate a form of magic capable of gathering souls from orbit; if you've been to Asura's Wrath, some modification to the Demigod Atelier spiritech may suffice.

Perhaps with the Soulhymn perk from FF13-3 and some research you can recreate the Soulsong and tweak it to maintain the souls' cohesion. Perhaps you could build a megascale Sa'Angreal a la Wheel of Time and use those to manipulate spiritual bodies. Perhaps That Undefinable Thing built on a megastructural level would suffice. You might want to wait for Dissidia to come out though; the setting's chock full of things that may or may not help here.

Your foundation in Song Science is also definitely a good base, and App Master from Soul Hackers in tandem with some of the higher end programming perks from Code Lyoko, Supreme Commander, Kid Radd etc may enable you to write apps capable of mass soul absorbtion.

Oh, and about the goldfish conundrum:

First off, we've run more simulations on that too and-it seems to very much depend on the individual. Neural structures, societal conditioning, ingrained behavior-different sophonts have different reactions to the sheer grandeur of our existence, and some of them appear to prefer mundane existence.

We've raised the question of at what point mental conditioning becomes brainwashing with our Ethics Committee if the logical conclusion of said ascension is complete harmony with our world-body, which inevitably leads to agreement with our goals and motivations due to the intrinsic link between our selfhood and world-self, and got yelled at for over an hour about free will or something. The gist of it was-they argued only a minority of individuals would willingly undergo expansion of awareness at the prerequisite rate needed to account for civilisation growth.

It was a moot point, anyway because, erm, no offence but we think creating 8 billion shounen protagonists could lead to horrific consequences and collateral damage. Based on tests done on civilisations from non-shounen universes, individual wants and ambitions inevitably lead to a great deal of competition assuming the existence of free will.

Our own Pink Tide is an exception but only one that proves the rule; to propagate a faction of indestructible posthumans with pride or conquest as cultural values instead of justice could lead to terrible consequences.
>>
>>43854433
All interesting methods. More research required. Thank you.

>>43854585
Everyone's solution to such a problem would be different, but here are my two cents.

1. Inciting an agreement with goals and methods in a person is not necessarily destruction of will, especially if you are not promoting destruction/violence as a method or a goal. Most of the time it is about being able to promote your philosophy clearly and completely. Generally impossible (imperfections of any and all communication mediums), it is a key to a true, ethical conversion of any person to your cause. Some abilities can be a huge help, though, like Matrix of Golden Sky Stories.

2. Shounen does not equal destructive behavior.

3. Individual wants and ambitions and the resulting competition do not necessarily mean destruction, but can be, and ARE, a catalyst for true trust, cooperation and infinite growth when handled properly.

4. Justice, pride and conquest are all wonderful things that can be horrible when applied in their extremes. Just like any other concept in existence.

Giving up and dying would be not maintaining any territory at all, or committing suicide en masse, or somethig similar. No one individual needs to die, or should die. But if reproduction requires the deaths of sapient lifeforms, the ethical response is not to reproduce unless you have willing sapient lifeforms, or possibly unwilling sapient lifeforms who will die or have died for other reasons.

If you believe that murder is unethical and/or rape is unethical, but don't acknowledge that forced reproduction via the murder of other sapients and the use of their corpses and/or spirits is unethical, you might as well just admit that you don't actually care about the idea of ethics.

If you do believe all three are ethical then I'd love to hear your argument.

So i was thinking about Indominus rex and such.

And i have an Question.

Fellow Jumpers what kind of biological hybrid monstrosities that are primary dinosaur like do you have?

Lizardmen do not count unless you made them from dinosaurs and not bona fide lizardmen from warhammer or normal lizards.
>>
>>43855126
This is a stupid and worthless over-specific question.
>>
>>43855126
Dinosaurs make amazing shock troopers in modern settings. Especially when you replace their limbs with guns and give them laser eyes.

Unfortunately, once the "Holy shit that's awesome" goes away, they go down like everything else. On the plus side, it does give the enemy soldiers some really neat stories to tell their kids.
>>
>>43855126
Dinosaurs are too readily explained by pure biology for me to make heavy use of them.

I did engineer a race of qilin during CIV. Those worked out well there and I've kept them with me, in degrees is sapience, since.
>>
>>43855126
I have a project to make a Zerg strain out of every species I encounter. It's run into a handful of snags, but it's progressing a lot better than you'd think. There are problems with the coloration WAY too often and usually on an individual basis, but that's the most common problem I encounter that I can't somehow fix, other than simply not being able to replicate magical biology (because zerg).

What are some jumps I could use to turn my aircraft carrier into a helicarrier AND a submarine. I was going to use Bioshock Infinite for the first one but have no idea for the second part.

Genetic engineering is not really my thing but in zoo Tycoon I did blend these little dickensis With A bunch of real dinosaurs and Scale them down to roughly great Dane size for petting zoo purposes so I could have a petting zoo full of extra cute dinosaurs.

Are we counting the various other ancient reptiles that technically aren't dinosaurs but due to living in the Mesozoic period tend to get lumped in with them? Because in the Godzilla the Series jump I engineered a giant mutant kronosaurus to fight the giant mutant cryptoclidus that the Takyon aliens had.

Gundam SEED. The Archangel-class and Minerva-class ships are atmospheroc flight-capable submersible spaceships. They're primarily meant for carrying mecha, not planes, but they do have some hangar space for more conventional craft. And you could always just refit them to replace the mecha bays entirely.
>>
>>43855379
Bancho, why are you storing children in your zoo? Who pets them? Is it an orphanage or a daycare?

>Uplifted Primal Shoggoth Zerg
Well, just found what my Civ race is going to be.
>>
>>43855536
I prefer the Minerva, personally. It has a better shape to it, isn't just trying to imitate the White Base from the first Gundam. Sleek, streamlined, looks like it could move in both air and water. Practically speaking it's probably what you'd want, too, since it's better suited for a carrier role than the Archangel's weird battleship/carrier hybrid. Not to say that the Minerva doesn't pack some serious firepower, but it's more subdued compared to the Archangel's so that it has more room for hangars and launch catapults.
>>
>>43855354
>myths and legends
I definitely tried to make things as mythic as possible. The More intelligent qilin served as mounts for my Sororitas and were given an instinctual low level version of fire bending.

>not going with uplifted primal sugar bowl Zerg
Anon, it's like juxtaposition brings you no joy at all.

Okay, so I finally sat down and watched No Game No Life. Thanks, Jumpchain!

I have to ask - for those of you who took that jump, how the hell do you manage to NOT pick up Jibril? She's the type of character whom, upon discovering your Jumper, would likely be hiding in the warehouse 24/7 to make sure you take her along.
>>
>>43855694
By not having a pod. No amount of love or obsession can defeat the laws of jumpchain, so sayeth Jump-chan, most high goddess and lady of hosts.
>>
>>43855694
That depends if I had an extra pod. If anything you might get into a game against her so she can join you if you don't have an extra pod open.
>>
>>43855736
> No amount of love can defeat the laws of jumpchain

Huey Lewis would disagree with out.
>>
>>43855694
No pods, no Companion option.
>>
>>43855694
The lack of canon companion purchase option in that jump is criminal. I'd love to bring her along, I'm just not sure that I'd want to waifu her. I've already got The Choir of Righteous Fury and a pair of princesses. I'm not sold on adding another, and without a pod I'd have to blue feather her.
>>
Why do we still only have pods if we want to take people with us?
>>
>>43855989
Because Pods are the only thing that you can use?
>>
>>43855989
Tradition and balance. Also it slows the tendency to make /jc/ Waifu Collector: The CYOA.
>>
>>43855839
Why not Blue Feather her?

What jump is that from? I've forgotten.
>>
>>43856008

>>
>>43855839
>implying Sororitas wouldn't get along perfectly with Jibril
>>
>>43856019
It's from Harvest Moon, and as said I'm already at six waifus. I didn't plan on them, honestly, so adding a seventh doesn't seem like the best idea.
>>
>>43856008
No it doesn't.
>>
>>43856019
>Why not Blue Feather her?
>What jump is that from? I've forgotten

because we'd all rather just forget about that jump
>>
>>43856056
Not personally. You're taking silly buttrage at one option and damning the whole thing like a singleminded child, and then projecting your outrage on everyone else. Again, like a child.
>>
>>43856025
This. They could share war stories and plan out how to snu snu you to death. They'd have tons to bond over.
>>
>>43856046
Thanks. Also, it's not like you have to do anything with them after you marry them.

Just:

*Poof*

Now we're married! Lets go on inter-dimensional adventures!
>>
>>43856003
You can use Blue Feathers as well. Basically all this does is force you to jump Harvest Moon, then Minecraft before you go waifu-hunting, and forces you into two specific builds for them.
>>
>>43856091
>implying I would stoop to acting like Eleven
I am so insulted right now, I don't even know what to say.
>>
>>43856183
Eleven?
>>
>>43856091
That depends on the Jumper. Justice while having a large amount of waifus he spends time with them if I recall something about hivemind splitting or something.
Some might not care, but others might care.
>>
>>43856219

>>
>>43856219
Doctor Who.

Eleventh Doctor just has issues.
>>
>>43856252

Oh yeah. And to think-we'd all have had far fonder memories of her if she'd just lived and died as Souffle Girl in one episode.

>>43856278

>>

>>
>>43855536
>>43855625

>>
>>43856451

>>
>>43856477
Eh, i'm liking Twelve a lot this season.
>>
>>43856557
He seems a lot more intense than the others have been, I like his little parts with the guitar where he's explaining stuff, makes him feel more personable, I also like that he is a lot more of an arsehole this time around and activlely tries not to be a dick and fails more than half the time

Mountain Madness is getting to me anons, Why are the mountains so important captcha? What are you trying to tell me about the mountains?
>>
>>43856451
>But goddammit, I'm not standing for the temptation to strike someday.
On one hand, good on ya. On the other hand, better to have and not need than need and not have. I regret not picking up one or two pods, just so I could relocate awesome people out of shitty universes. I'd say keep them around, just in case.
>>
All this talk of Doctor Who and Blue Feathers makes me wish there was a perk that let you Companionize people in it.

Seriously, tell me it wouldn't fit.
>>
>>43856708
Eh, it's alright. I still have a few pods left over, if push comes to shove. At least with those they can leave any time they like if Irreconcliable Differences happen.
>>
Jibril seems kind of dangerous tho, she is probably more powerful than any low-mid tier jumper and the only thing she love more than knowledge is killing shit so ... yea no thanks.
I've got the feeling she would go on a rampage as soon as leaving that world
>>
>>43857021
If you win against her in a game I am sure she would be forced to uphold it and not cause destruction or you could perhaps pacify her with knowledge but this is a guess since you would be outside NGNL.
>>
>>43857021
Actually you could probably bribe her with books, blackmail with the fact you can send her back home, or just point her at people no one will miss.

And that's how the entire Red court plus the Denarians learned that messing with the other wizard in Chicago was a bad idea.
>>
>>43857021
Which is why you put together a total war block for her to work off stress in, and make it clear you're in charge of this chain.
>>
>>43855694

Well, like >>43855736 and >>43855778, Pods have become a concern, but NGNL contains the answer as well as being part of the problem.

The answer is to have 1 spare pod. I do, I've just been using it to fit my DxD queen into jumps, since I'm well over the innate 8 companions. So, she can vacate the pod without disappearing, just gets to chill in the warehouse awhile.

the other half of the puzzle is "Summoning" from NGNL. You can only hold them there for 5 minutes at first, and while that could definitely be improved upon, that's not terribly relevant. That open pod? that becomes my rotating pod.

When I need Jibril on an adventure, I summon and pod her. When we're done there, she goes home, pod goes empty. When I need someone else, summon, pod, adventure, go home.

Kinda wish I'd been planning this from the beginning, really...
>>
>>43857113
>Jibril vs. the Red King
No idea who would win, but I'd love to watch that fight from the next universe over.
>>
>>43857485
I was tempted to Pod her and take her to Halo, but I had neither the spare pod nor jumped NGNL early enough.

>See those big purple bastards?
"Yes"
>Just fuck their shit up familia

>>43857485
Putting 500 CP on the pinkette citybuster, the Red King plays hardball but he's out of his prime and suffers a debillitating blood addiction
>>
>>43857187
>Summon and pod
That's... Actually genius, anon. Not to my tastes (Am a very permanent type ot gal), but I can see no reason why that wouldn't work.

>>43857021
Come now, sometimes living dangerous is in order. Jibril here, Karasuba and Miya there, and going for Morrigan is positively a must. One way or another, you'll have fun, right?~
>>
>>43857485
She won and after seeing the sacrifices decided they were evil enough that I wouldn't care if she genocided them.

Thanks to her name, she got mistaken by some inexperienced practitioners as Gabriel. No we did not actually meet Gabriel, but we met Uriel. He laughed then handed her a trumpet.
>>
>>43857688
It's not so much that I'm not committed to my companions, I really am, but it's a BIG multiverse, and there are a lot of tasks out there. I'm a big believer in assigning the right person to the right job.
