Don't they not come into existence till the 36th millenium?
>>
/jc/ when was the last time you were faced with total war?

I took the 300 CP drawbacks for Legacy of the Aldenata. The only reason Earth survived was because of my mass production perks which let me produce billions of hellguns and thousands of plasma guns. Cardboard armor obviously would not help here. Cloning tech and Dust helped too. In the end too many were dead but we held the damn line. We held.

So yeah this is how Earth became 40k lite.
>>
>>43630428
I wound up having to create strategic weak zones to lure the Posleen in. I'd have people, mostly companions put up just enough of a fight in those zones to draw the posleen into the trap, convince them to commit. Then, we brought the Light of Terra out of hiding, leaping it into firing position with the Elsewhere Coil, and team human runs like fuck as the Light shines upon our foe.
>>
Sword Art Online's "Immortal Object" perk + Harry Potter Horcrux = Inviolate Immortality?
>>
>>43630569
Given how Immortal Object works, and how Horcruxes seem to work, that'd probably just lock you into some kind of unending torture.
>>
>>43630353
Meh. His story still works without that bit, so I gave it to him.
>>

>>43630353
Sisters of Silence
Not the same thing, but close enough that a casual might mistake one for the other.
>>
>>43630618
Well, there's also a number of other little issues like the Cult being still illegal at the time. Just wondering if they were intentional changes, since they mentioned they weren't familiar with 40K.
>>
>>43630569
The indestructible Enchanted Weapon from Samurai Jack may work better.

40k storyfag here.

Yeah, I didn't know, and still don't know, a lot about the setting when I mapped out that narrative. Its safe to assume any inconsistencies with canon are unintentional.

Is my narrative fucked, or is there some way to salvage it? I kinda like how it worked out.
>>
>>43630706
Change "sisters of battle" to "sisters of silence"
They are close enough that your story won't need to be changed much.

I recall once reading that you didn't have to remove drawbacks at the end of a jump if you didn't want to?

Is that a thing, or just some anon's fanwank?
>>
>>43630800
Little of column A, a little of column B.

Most people are generally fine with it as long as the drawback doesn't give you any real benefit. 'You have no eyes' is seen as a fine one to take, 'you are the protagonist and you're in the jump for 100 years' is generally not although some people go down that route as well.
>>
>>43630800
Nah, that's a thing.
>>
>>43630800
You can keep any drawbacks, but you no longer get points or any other benefit from them.
They exist solely to make your life more difficult
>>
>>43630800
Yes. There are no further rules concerning it, no matter what anyone says. Any drawback can be retained.
>>
>>43630800
Long been a thing.
>>
Let's talk about non-perk but in-jump improvements. Or rather, improvements that are CAUSED but not immediately given by a perk. As in, a possibilty to do it.

What jumps or perks give ability to increase one's size permamently to unrealistic levels without making them become non-humanoid looking(Stuff like Female Titan from Attack on Titan is still allowed)
>>
>>43630837
>There are no further rules concerning it
>Any drawback can be retained

That could just as easily be stated to support the fact that no drawbacks can be retained. There's no rule against taking all the jumps at once in one mad mashup universe but that doesn't mean you can necessarily do it.

Whenever there isn't a rule it's best just not to be stupid about it and keep it within the spirit of things.
>>
>>43630800
I hope it's a thing, or I just lost an arachne-alt.form. I got from a drawback in Inuyasha.
>>
>>43630873
Nah fuck off. I know exactly what you want to try and enforce.
>>
>>43630898
What's that?
>>
>>43630428
The Posleen are the perfect example of why wizards invented Genocide spells.

I am going to have SO MUCH FUN when I get around to that jump.
>>
>>43630728
...They're mute soulless servants of the Emperor when he was up and walking, meaning they'll find the Imperial Cult a perversion of the Imperial Truth, not to mention negating Sororitas Faith powers by their very presence. That, er, won't really work.

>>43630706
Well, you could just take out the Sororitas, replace them with some soldiers from the Heresy (note that the Imperial Guard didn't exist at the time, instead there was the Imperial Army that had a number of organisational and doctrinal differences) who were secretly Cultists (probably best not to let anyone know that was written by Lorgar, aka the Daemon Primarch who was the first of the Primarchs to turn to Chaos) and (if your actions in the Heresy were sufficiently impressive) have the Choir eventually realise you were some legendary venerated figure from the time of the Heresy from putting together clues from the legends and stuff you and your companions said.
>>
>>43630681
Clever. Very nice.
>>
>>43631032
My point was that they are a group of women who are fanatically devoted to Emps and who hate Witches.

"Close enough a casual might not notice the difference"
>>
>>43631055
Sisters of Battle are all about being inspiring (if somewhat disturbing in an "are they going to execute me for Heresy?" kind of way) beacons of Faith to bolster their allies and lead the masses to glorious victory.

Sisters of Silence are silent, secretive, and inherently repulsive to all around them thanks to being not just soulless but so actively soulless that they weaken the souls of everyone nearby. They mostly work as executioners to remove select psyker targets, and are extremely rare and valuable thanks to the scarcity of Blanks.
The closest analogue to the Sisters of Silence by the time Sisters of Battle come around are the Culexus.
>>
>>43631301
His point is just that if someone casual heard of them both, they'd assume the Sisters of Silence were a sub-type of SoB.
>>
>>43631316
...No it isn't?
>>43630728

That's pretty clearly a statement that the two organisations work in close enough ways that they can fill the same role in the story.
>>
Canonically confused Redux writefag here again.

Sorry I keep poping in and out, I’m glued to the news watching France.

If you don’t mind, I’m going to steal large chunks of this >>43631032 and use it to do my rewrite. The fact that they aren’t Sororitas, which means that I wouldn’t be either, technically, makes it more mythic, and helps explain the Choirs actions more.

Thanks for the assistance >>43631032 and >>43630728.

Canon arguments and issues aside, story was enjoyable'ish?

Good apart from the lack of bitchslapping Horus. Because he needs it.

And Jesus, over 120 people might be dead in France. Fucking horrifying.
>>
>>43631389
>which means that I wouldn’t be either, technically,
Technically, you would be if you took that origin. The location roll mentions the Warp tosses you through time, which while not exactly common in 40K isn't super rare either (though going that far back is). There even is (or was, before they all dissapeared suddenly...) a minor Ordo of the Inquisition called the Ordo Chronos that specialised in dealing with it.
I would highly suggest keeping your background-imparted urge to yell prayers to the God Emperor and call people Heretics under very tight rein, since as mentioned at the time of the Heresy the Imperial Cult is extremely illegal and the Emperor... well, let's just say he got quite mad indeed at Lorgar for his preaching.
I certainly don't mind if you take chunks of it, since that was, after all, the reason I wrote it.

And yes, story worked quite well overall.

Spend the last four years of the Jump helping in places to reconstruct, as well as tracking down prisoners of war or others that went missing during it. Maybe a bit of playful flirting with Toph near the end.

>>43631779
There's a Viking Jump?
>>
>>43631962

Start out in trouble with the Triple Threat Triad, but easily smack them down. Not before Chief Beifong arrests for disturbing the peace, though. Double Bending Genius (Earth) means I'm the greatest Earthbender ever was or will be. Meet Korra when she first arrives in Repubic City and buy food for her and Naga. Get arrested right alongside her when the Triple Threatss show up again. Spend the main storyline helping out with B-plots and in the background, mostly just amazing everyone I'm still alive. During Lin and Toph's "Heart-to-heart", when Lin mentions Toph never said anything about her father, lead her to believe I am. She works out the math but still funny. After Kuvira is dealth with and Best Couple go on their vacation, take over the Fire Ferrets and lead them to be Pro-Bending champions for five years running.
>>
>>43631655
Okay, I'm morbidly curious; is there any particular reason why I would even bother 'redeeming' the Posleen?

I mean, it's not like I'm going to be killing all the Posleen, ever. Just enough to give humanity some breathing room.

The Darheel I'll just leave stewing in quiet terror, given that I plan to stealth all my actions.
>>
>>43631962
>There's a Viking Jump?
Viking Saga.

Really weird, alternates between ebonics and detailed writing.
>>
>>43632002
Sounds weird. I'm gonna poke at it, but likely stay away. Not one for the pillaging and such.

>>43631962

Jump 7: DC
>Region
Metropolis
>Identity
Alias: John Doe
Age: 25 (83)
Sex: Male
Drop In
>Abilities
Unrealistic Proportions--look like a comic-book figure.
Environmental Adaptation--easily adapt to new environments, pressure levels, imperfect gas mixtures. Extreme flight and speeds don't harm body.
Peak Human Fitness--at peak of human fitness
Polyglot--master any human language with a few days of practice and a little effort
Superhuman Durability--extreme buff to durability, very hard to hurt
Genius--eidetic memory, huge intelligence buff

Work as small-town hero "Mr. Richter", partnering with police to take care of common and superpowered crime. Richter comes from Richter scale, since using earthbending as main/most visible superpower. Also spend a fair bit of time going around and giving speeches at schools. No normal identity means have full-time hero duties. Some interaction with Justice League, but I mostly stick to small crimes so they tend to just let me have my corner of America. Also learn every major language in free time.
>>
>>43631996
Well, you don't HAVE to, but The Posleen are just the victims of being manipulated, and even as little as I care for the Darhel so are they (though them I find irredeemable anyway) and it's the Aldenata who need to be fucked with a rake. Once upon a time, way way way back in the mists of time, Humanity and the Posleen were bros.
>>

Make a Taken King jump yourself, please.

>>
>>43632045
Moving on from weird Viking thing, we now return to scheduled Jumping.

Jump 8: Slice of Life
>Background
Alias: John Doe
Age: 16 (93)
Sex: Male
Drop-In
>Setting
Humorous Injuries--can hit/be hit with minimal bruising, so long as no malicious intent
Monstergirls--world has always had monsterfolk as a simple part of life.
Specialized Setting--high school is a fancy STEM-focused boarding school.
>Perks
Sick Episode--once per year, become sick. Friends try to care for, cheer up.
>Items
Hidie Hoodie--stops people interacting with wearer (when hood is up). All black.
Phone--phone that has apps for anything useful, only loses power when would be funny.

Powers are all sealed while here, though keep skills and knowledge. Can and do return for six months after every Jump.

The world is as modern-day, with the exception that Demihumans--monster people--have lived alongside normal folk all the way back to cave paintings. In most cases, they're fully integrated into general society, though there are some exceptions, such as Bee Hives, the nomadic Equine Herds, and certain Tribes of Lamia. In my case, I get to spend the first three years here going to a fancy boarding school with a lot of STEM classes. Luckily, I have three friends through this: Chisame, an athletic Mouse with the attitude of someone thrice her 90cm height; Kaede, a naive but curious Bee Princess that was sent by her mother to learn ways to modernize their Hive; and Lilac, a withdrawn and studious Arachne transfer student. We put together an Orienteering club and end up going to the same University, even after Lilac's father was transferred back to America. Ended the Jump with a job teaching at the same high school we graduated from, which is a nice break to have between Jumps.

References--Companion Import (Emmy), summon to side at any time.

Most jobs are freelance translating and language tutoring, but also do some lifting and bike courier-ing. Usually don't have too much issue making ends meet, so end up with a decent ten years without major drama that isn't caused by the Bitch stirring up trouble.

There are already ways to make dungeons, so spoilers ain't really an appeal/justification for a jump.

That being said, the core story for the Gamer is just starting off, so even though a couple people have expressed interest in making a jump, if they do make one, it's going to basically see 5 - 6 rehash cycles as the plot reveals more substantial problems + more characters and abilities.

Its only a power grab when its advertised as: Don't Worry, You'll Get Powers X, Y, and Z. Powers and items should be part of the jump, obviously, but if you're making a point of selling that then I'm going to assume that's the emphasis as opposed to exploring the setting or getting involved in the plot.

Because the pacing of a Korean Manhwa generally takes about a year to go through a segment, and in Korea a lot of authors (especially on naver, which is their main media site for this sort of stuff if you will, but that's an aside) tend to burn out before it finishes.

A well known example of this is Veritas, a manhwa which ran for 5 years, with an equivalent storyline equal to one arc in Bleach basically. The artist gave up on part II due to how long it had been.

With the pacing being this slow, a lot of major plot points don't get revealed in a "rapid manner" - this is completely logical. The problem is, a lot of plot points are hinted to early. For example Jee Han's mother the Unknown Classer Level ???. The various factions. The Top Factions in Korea. Lots of namedropping with not a lot of explanation, but heavy stress on their importance. So as an author, do you ignore them and then update your jump each time a chapter comes out?

We have Tower of God, which unfortunately I'll have to use as an example here. The jump was made right before an arc reveal that basically made one of the backgrounds/items possibly the best combination (It was hinted it was the best already). So now if the author is gone, that combination may well stay that way for quite a while...until the plot shifts yet again. Tower of God is likely to run for another 4 years at least, and updates routinely.

So yeah, with Gamer being so early, and moving so slow, it is difficult to make it into a jump without doing a lot of OC.
>>
>>43633332
>That's very true. I make a point to include enough perks, items, and drawbacks to make it feel like they're getting their CP's worth and have an enjoyable time of adventure and fun!

Yup. Baam, because he's the Ex-Slayer Candidate (Irregular) and bears the Thorn, got a free pass to a lot of crazy shit that has escalated in the Hell Train arc (this one right now)

Irregulars basically drive Tower of God's plot.
>>
>>43633479
We kind of always knew that Irregular or close association with one was necessary to be the protagonist. It's in the name. The Regulars are all bound by the laws of the tower as a metaphysical thing, aren't they? How would they ever change anything?
>>
>>43633529
I think to people who actively follow the series, it's something that is very natural, entirely agreed. I'm not sure for a person with no knowledge of the series - whether they understand the depth of the implications when they choose this specific combination.

Baam is starting his Ichigo power climb right now, so we'll probably see by the end of hell train whether the Thorn will grow more.

>>
>>43635647
There's two ways to go about this - either you consider the jump as canon in that the Thorn offered isn't a true Thorn, but just a replica, or it's the real Thorn and the description is inaccurate.

If we take the first option, the whole thing resolves itself neatly, it does only what you've listed and nothing else.

If we follow the context of the actual manhwa however, things change a little. The Thorn is a living entity, a lifeform implied to evolve rather than a tool. As it evolves, it pumps its user full of power - apparently with no upper limit. Its only limit seems to be "How much can my user withstand".

A lot of the stipulations about the Shard have changed since the manga started releasing more updates. The part about being a hazard to allies and foes alike is now false - Baam in an incomplete state can now control that aspect very effectively. He's only just started acknowledging the entity within the Shard.

The part about "It grows stronger alongside it's owner." has become a bit false as well - we see in the interactions between the Shard and Baam that it's a symbiotic relationship, except the Shard is much stronger than Baam, so it can't forcefeed Baam full of energy all at once.

We know that the Shard, and growing the Shard is part of FUG's plans to eventually disrupt the entire order of the Tower. We don't know how exactly and whether the plan is being manipulated. We do know that the power grows on demand, rather than in set intervals - as Baam sees "need", the Shard answers his "call".

Thing is - we know that the Shard will continue to evolve and gain new abilities - triggering Baam's growth as well. It's like a magical wild card. Killing Immortals is just a side job of its.

Adventure Time for Elemental Monarch (x) followed by Medaka Box for Real Eater to change (x) to (Lightning).

Caveat: Medaka Box is a shonen and the cast have a variety of completely bullshit-tier powers, so you may want to keep a very low profile in that jump. Maybe quietly skip the country and have a vacation in Australia, or wear 9-to-5's Hidey Hoodie 24/7/365/10. Or both.
>>
>>43637407
Elemental Monarch is Slime, Candy, Fire and Ice.

And Real Eater is fairly specific on how you can change stuff. It has to be related. Like Strength Boost into a Speed Boost. You might be able to wiggle Fire > Lightning but its a bit of a stretch I think.

This might sound kind of obvious in hindsight but-to what extent d'you guys think forcefields are compatible with each other? We're not talking about different magic systems' fields-just forcefields in general.

Let's take four examples-the Force Field Projection from City of Heroes, an HSDW-strength Bounded Field, some Demon Eyes from Mushoku Tensei with Absolute Void and Absorbtion powers, and AT-Fields.

How easy would it be to simultaneously raise all these fields if you want to not only shut out all magic and conceptual attacks, but launch a counterattack a la Rebuild's Zeruel by squishing the opposition under an accordian-like attack of stacked forcefields?

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly. In what way do you mean "compatible", Anti-kun?
Technologically speaking I've always sortof considered myself layering multiple forcefields over top one another anytime I want to guard something, sortof like sandwich parts. I don't imagine there's any problems with it, although the field does get a bit thick after you've layered five or more of the things.

Are you talking about overlapping them? Combining them into one superfield? I imagine it depends largely on the physics systems involved. Blatantly contradictory things might not work together so well, but if they work in completely different ways that don't overlap it might hypothetically be possible?

Of course, if there is a contradiction, that sounds like a good way to blow a fuse or accidentally rip an EMP. So probably watch out for that.
>>
>>43638496
My guess would be that it would depend upon how those fields are generated, ie power source, and how they are raised. A magic field from a less rigid system might go up with a thought, but a field from a crunchy harder-scale scifi might take time to power up.

tl;dr - Need more information to answer the question properly.
>>
>>43638646
Didn't SV get made because SB was censoring everything?
>>
Don't forcefields tend to emanate from projectors? It doesn't make sense for a projector to be able to project a forcefield in a space that's behind another forcefield, suggesting that, at the very least, overlapping forcefields will be limited by projector-placement and angle.
>>
>>43638752
Why do we care? They're both bargain-bin sites.

Applying their effects to each other simultaneously i.e. using the magic-blocking forcefield to cover the moveable AT-Field as you pull it back to smash into something.

So...yeah, pretty much overlapping them into a superfield.

>accidentally rip an EMP
>tfw trying to make sandwich of forcefields only for it to fall apart from conflicting energies, like a fat man trying to put too much bacon in his quadruple decker

Good point. Any ideas on how to mitigate that?

>>43638696
Fair point. Mostly thought of innately generated field, although we do have one or two tricks for remote activation of personal forcefields.
>>
>>43638753
The ones he brought up are generated personally, though. There are loads that are projected remotely of course, but those tend to be relatively hard scifi ones. Compared to Eva and the like, anyway.

> Any ideas on how to mitigate that?
Well, obviously you have to figure out which effects are contradictory to each other first. As people behind keyboards that's pretty difficult to actually figure out, but as jumpers you would realistically be able to figure that out pretty easily with some small scale experiments. More tedious than anything, trying all the different combinations in controlled circumstances.

After that I would say converting them over to other systems might help, which can be accomplished with experimenting and research, which is particularly aided by (of course) Crimson Saint from Maoyuu Hero & Demon King, although also helped along by pretty much any easily moddable magic system. If you can convert everything to the same system, or at least the parts that don't play well with each other, it should be much easier to layer them all across each other.
Of course, I'm sure some of that stuff just straight up can't exist in the same area as other stuff, because of completely contradictory physics systems, and Jumpchan's fiat only goes so far. But you should at least be able to sandwich them in that case, like I do. As long as those instances can quietly ignore each other, y'know.

Also, don't be afraid to use some substitutions when necessary.
But it basically all comes down to, "fiddle with it til it works."

Oh. While I'm at it.

That perk from Cardcaptors would probably help, too. You know the one, the Drop In cap for combining magic? And there's one in Binbougami that does the same thing with spiritual energies, which is also probably pretty useful, particularly for AT fields.

I think trying to combine all the different things from magic, tech, and spirituality is going to end up getting super unwieldy as you add more to it, but with those and Crimson Saint, you should eventually be able to either combine or convert everything into some sort of working system, probably. Although it might take, y'know, a good thousand years or so or even more, depending on just how much stuff you're cramming together.

So, y'know, maybe wait til you're in one of those ridiculously long jumps before you start working on the meat of that. That way you'll have less distractions, iron out all the kinks, formulate entirely new fields of magic for the soul purpose of creating a field of Absolute Repellent. That kind of thing.

I've started to doing small rolled runs as they're pretty fun for a bit and tend to result in some different builds from normal.

Jump 1: Underworld.

26 years old
Drop-In
1218
Hunter
Anti-Monster Weaponry 100
Immortal 400
Social Manipulator 500
Blood Memory 800
Genetic Assimilation 1200
Lycan Companion 1500
Death Dealer 200
Silver Resistance 300
Leader of the Pack 500
Alpha Wolf 800
Modern Weaponry 1600
World of Monsters 1000

Here for instance I felt like as I dropped in and it was 1218 I'd probably need a companion and as it's the first jump I had to buy an OC one. Went Lycan as having someone who doesn't have to avoid going outside in the day is generally preferable to one who can't. Doesn't really make sense as the Lycans barely existed at this point historically and there weren't any on the run. Maybe this is one that got made a while ago and everyone forgot about. Werewolf companion works nicely as a sort of authoritative captain of the guard sort.

On the other hand I always go Immortal as it's a slow burner but it's cheaper and ultimately stronger than any of the other options except maybe Hybrid where it's just way cheaper.

Death Dealer also doesn't make sense for them but there's basically nothing else they can take other than either pointless or overpriced items or other perks that make even less sense. Figure it just gives them arms, armour and training.

Modern Weaponry actually gives a terrific edge in 1218. Hope the weapons come with replenishing ammo or else I've just bought a lot of stupidly shaped clubs.

Seem to always roll really early in this. The question really is whether to try to sort out the area I start in or to go somewhere else where there's other different monsters I know less about. Probably best to go somewhere else, maybe after giving the Lycans a bit of help breaking out and trying to make them a bit more civil.

I rolled Warhammer 40K Redux which I made a build for on my most recent rolling minirun so don't particularly fancy it again at this point.

Same as it always is. I'm yet to see a bodymod build I think is better. Also known as the 'party for days' build. Endurance is really great as it provides your body (whatever that's like) the ability to keep moving without getting tired, where Strength and Dexterity can be picked up elsewhere and can be bundled into new forms Endurance stays useful. Plus I was always really shit at cross country running and am slightly asthmatic so I may have something of a complex. Exactly the same as usual. Forcewall and Free Space are essential for obvious reasons. Local Net is great as getting internet in a forcewalled other dimension seems like it might be impossible. Return is unique so I always choose it even if I'm not sure what to do about it and might as well spend the rest on Stasis Pods. Last 10 CP was a tossup between Electricity and Food as they're both things I can get myself. Figured I didn't know when I'd next be able to even pick up electrical items so might as well go with food.

Speaking of WoW, Legion is looking pretty good. Looking a lot like Burning Crusade, and Demonhunter looks sweet. From the pre-alpha gameplay they play a lot like warrior-rogue with dash of warlock.

Rogues apparently the combat spec is getting renamed "Outlaw" and even has a hidden pistol shot. So it going with the swashbuckling pirate theme.

As for WoW Jump when Legion hits I'll be changing up a few things. Mostly because everyone gets an artifact that you level up and customize. What I'll probably do is something similar to God of War's "Weapon Of The Gods" thing. Idk how the artifacts you get level up, or if you get them starting at level 1 now.

I'll wait and see.

Eldar Jump is coming along slowly. I trying to muster up energy to finish it in timely manner. Who knows when it'll be finished, but I know I have a long break coming up. Then a longer break shortly after. So if the creativity comes to me, I'll defiantly hammer away at it.

Jump 2: Disney Princess

18 years old
Villain
Forested Kingdom
Sing A Little Song
Villain Song
Black Magic 100
Tres Belle 500
The Deal Maker 700
Monstrous Transformation 1000
Poisoned Apple 1050
Wizard Stick 1100
Trident 1600
Spindled 1300
Outside Tech Discouragement Policy 1100
Useless Princess 1000

Why Disney Princess for the first chosen option in an evil run? It has arguably the best villain background of any reasonably safe jump. It's also, for my money, the best background in the jump. Add on Tres Belle to the bodymod stuff so I can look good while I do bad and it's more or less your standard Villain build. I've got magic, a monstrous form and control of the sea. I don't have any outside technology yet, get bested occasionally by that pesky princess and spend the last 5 years asleep (but I'm pretty sure sleeping for ages is something that is good for you if you're an Underworld monster already anyway).

For my princess I guess I'll go Ariel as that's pretty funny in the forest, the fat mouse from Cinderella as the sidekick and that Aztec Llama guy from that stupid Aztec Llama Disney film as the prince.

First half is pretty much learning magic, maybe finding Maleficent for some bramble based stuff and gaining and then throwing around political influence. The second half is being asleep while Gellert (what I've decided my Lycan companion is called as it is both a Hungarian name and a reference to Gelert) does what he likes with the setting.

That Sword and Sorcery jump is beyond merely good. Posting a build:

Drop-In

To Truly Live (50cp): Happiness for cheap. I feel like there is a good parable here.
A Well Traveled Road (50cp): Tips and tricks. Useful enough.
One of the Wise (100cp): Intelligence. Always to take.
A Scholar’s Treasure (100cp): Luck in scholarly pursuits? Sure.
Call to Greatness (150cp): Feeling for plot starters, nice. I wonder what happens when you start stacking them?~
Lost and Forgotten (150cp): It is always the most important things that get lost. Or do they become important because they were lost?
To Treat With Spirits (300cp): There is much potential hiding here.
The Heart of Man (300cp): One always has much to learn.
Grandeur and Allure (400cp): Obligatory appearance perk. I can just never quite resist, can I?

A Wanderer's Cloak: Alright. Sure is handy.

A Selfish World (+100cp): We shall see indeed.
A Cruel World (+100cp): ...I am going to one hell of a world, hm?
The Nail That Sticks Up (+200cp): ...Actually, don't answer.
Tarnished In Spirit (+200cp): Again, one always has much to learn. Me, more than I'd like to consider. Then again, all these poor people from the previous drawbacks have a surprise coming.

This will be... A spiritual journey.

~~~
Update on WITCH jump. As I started drafting the thing, I remembered that the animation only covers the first two arcs out of eleven, and is somewhat subpar when compared to the original material. And that means rereading the comics. Will take some time.
Origins so far are Drop-In, Meridian Dweller, Guardian and Escanor. Not sure what that last one would make you in relation to Phobos and Elyon just yet.
>>43641312
Not as such; I'm remembering things from before the White Wolf forums went down for good. They may or may not be mentioned on the Onyx Path forums.
On second thought-Leviathan and Princess are the only ones finished enough to be done into a jump, I think. And even Leviathan is mostly unfinished compared to Genius and Princess, last time I checked.
>>43641351
To clarify-I'm not calling either, because I've lost my PDFs for both
>>43641318
Oh, I wish. Sadly nWoD has one or two splats problematic for jump conversion, from Mages being able to turn themselves into basically Exalted-style Primordials at high Gnosis to Demons being able to hack their way straight through reality-for free, with the right combo of Embeds.
>>
>>43641479
Yeah, I'm gonna have to skip Mage when making the oWoD jumps too, Mage is always just too good. Though I am trying to think of a way to include linear magic (Sorcery) somehow. Maybe as a DLC of sorts? Thankfully Demon: The Fallen is a lot more tame than Descent so it's fair game for me.
Too bad there's no oWoD fansplats that I know of.
>>
>>43641479
Come now - TvTropes has links for both. The problem is not a problem at all.
>>
So what did you guys do in a One Punch Man jump? And what did you choose?
>>
>>43641542
The only ones I know of are Senshi: The Merchandising (basically a joke line about '90s anime messing with the consensus reality of Mage: The Ascension) and Tech Infantry, which is about aliens and wizards being caught on camera, which in turn caused consensus reality to flip its shit and spawn millions of wizards, which in turn caused the Gehenna War due to all the magic waking up the Antediluvians, which FINALLY ended with the Technocracy more or less winning, exiling most of the supernaturals and leading humanity into space. The main setting is about space adventures, if that wasn't clear.
Neither, I think, would be say to make into jumps.
It is somewhat amusing to me that the legit biblical demons are less broken than the sufficiently advanced, biomechanical quantum machines currently known as demons.
Jump 3: Courage the Cowardly Dog
Bagge Farmhouse
Villain 100
25 years old
Invisibility 700
Suave 750
Kool Kat 800
Entrepreneurial 850
Naughty 1000
Or Suffer My Curse 1200
Birds Always Make Fun of You 1175
Ya Fool! 1150
Finder's Keepers 1000
Got to admit went with Villain for thematic reasons rather than discounts. I mean they get some nice stuff but I'd generally go Drop-In and get the puddle portals rather than Or Suffer My Curse, still it's a good perk so doesn't really matter.
Drawbacks in Courage seem like a bad idea but being a greedy bastard that gets reprimanded by a Chinese man and birds is not THAT dangerous. Particularly given that my accent and perks more or less make me a second Katz living with the Courage Family. Will probably end up making off with the copper in the walls and starting a cruise line or something.
>>43641292
We've only got like 3 proper WoD jumps out of the bunch of games as it is. Could do with more WoD jumps generally.
>>
Big Question.
If you are in One Punch Man jump, can you just go to the Hero Organization to take the tests and apply without buying the licences in jump? I mean, I don't see anything stopping you?
Also, can you do it as a mysterious being if you are not straight up, well, evil?
Can you talk to Saitama before the three years after which he starts looking for you if you take the Saitama hates you and convince him beforehand that you don't want to be a threat or such? I meant, the drawback says you could talk it over with Saitama so...
>>
>>43641630
hid
>>
>>43641868
Not at all. You could easily ace both tests if you've been to, say, DC right before OPM. They're not exactly the most rigorous things; Saitama failed the entire written portion and still passed.
That's...harder to answer. You...might be able to pass as a very eccentric hero as long as you don't shout about your plans to enslave humanity or cleanse the world all the time. As a general rule, the less obvious your physical mutations the more likely you'd be accepted.
And I certainly don't see anything stopping you from doing the last one.
I went Drop In. Because it had the tech perks. And also Saitama likes me, I guess...?
When I landed, I almost immediately went into hiding in a labyrinth I'd built into the sewer. And from there I'd send minions out into the city to steal and engage in petty villainy and throw around the sigil of the Ouroborous.
And then I'd build robots.
But I didn't build armies. No. For once I went for quality. I threw everything I had into making the most ridiculous, powerful, impossibly shonen robots I could think of. I did incredible things. Things I didn't think were possible in my mad quest for power. As each robot escalated and each robot was imprinted with the sigil we became something of a mythical force of evil. Some great and powerful being beyond ken that seeked nothing less than the destruction or conquest or misery of the world at large.
They weren't really sure which. The ouroborous was mysterious.
But they were always stopped. Because the heroes rose to stop them. Because, when the strongest would arrive to challenge the world and no one else could save them, one man would appear to defeat them with just a single punch.
And that's the kicker. Because I wasn't doing this for conquest or power or to push my limits or anything like that. I did it for him. For Saitama.
Because... I knew how much he wanted it. He wanted a villain to fight. He wanted a challenge.
And I wanted so desperately to give it to him.
...
I failed.
It was, fittingly, Saitama who found me. Which was weird, because the attack was nowhere near my location. I was still hiding in my labyrinth. Watching. Was he lost? How do you get that lost?
Nine and a half years of my life devoted to this, nine and a half years of attacks, escalating in power and insanity, a mysterious figure cloaked in shadow commanding an incredible army. And when he found me, he didn't find a towering figure in armor or a monster beyond imagining. He didn't find a strange and powerful anomaly who had stolen power from other dimensions.
He found a girl. Crying over a workbench.
Because I had failed. I just wanted to give him this one thing. And I failed. And all I could say between crying was, "I did it for you."
And he couldn't think of what to say.
>>
>>43642595
I meant whats the plot
>>
>>43642727
Okay, in a nutshell?
You are a sea monster in semi-human form.
Specifically, a member of one of the tribes descended from the primordial sea deity Tiamat, who was slain by Mardukh. This may or may be an allegory for your clan of aquatic, inhuman masters of elemental manipulation's decline in the face of humanity's technological prowess. You can summon storms, smash through things with huge tentacles, seed cults with your eldritch bloodline-and your clan is, on the whole, still losing because of the muggles and their goddamn civilisation bullshit, which covers everything from awkward social situations where you have to hide your gills to guns.
>>
>>43642618
You have the bonus of being a pretty girl as a jumper, thus it improves the sadness and such of the scene
Jump 4: Captain Planet and the Planeteers
30 years old
Eco Villain 100
Alternate Element (Drugs) 200
The Power Is Yours 600
Pollution Palate
Mastered Material Engineering 700
Elemental Pollution 900
Minion Master+ 1300
Money Maker
Iron Fist 1500
For the Evulz 1300
Hitler Hate Beams 1000
This one took a surprisingly dark turn given the setting. The previous jumps were probably just enough for me to choose For the Evulz without really thinking about it and I thought it'd be a funny idea to choose drugs as my element. Drugs actually have a pretty good synergy with a lot of the perks, I can probably spike people just by them being nearby as well and can produce vast quantities of them.
I also have 20 minions each representing and capable of producing and weaponising drugs, a pharmaceutical company and the ability to be empowered (ignoring the negative effects of drugs). As always the challenge of the jump is to kill Hitler and I have to do that in the messiest most collateral damageiest way possible. Given my new skill set this is probably going to involve spiking Hitler and everyone within a few miles radius until they either rip each other apart or die due to side effects.
The Power is Yours!
>>43642525
Best not to look at bloodlines really. It's got less content and is pretty much all just lifted straight from the game mechanics. If people are going to do the actual tabletop games properly Changeling and VtR are where to look as they're both pretty good. Lot of work required though.
>>
>>43642965
Well, that's the gist of it really.
There's a group of not-Hunters called the Marduk Society, which are allegedly founded by the immortal sky wizards who trained under Marduk. And the organization's higher-ups may or may not be powering their technowizardry through humanity's despair-and are actively cultivating human despair to keep their own powerbase strong. Amongst other things, the Old Men of Se-I mean, Marduk are harvsting leviathan flesh to stay immortal.
There's a place called the Rift that's half spirit realm full of bad juju from the Tribes' genesis, and half mindfuck abyssal undersea location.
To underline how badly civilisation has fucked the Leviathans, electricity deals aggravated damage to them. Family relations are a goddamn nightmare; it's not uncommon to be born into a feud with another family while being oppressed by a combination of interfamilial pressure and high birth defects/mortality. Oh yeah-the Leviathans are good at having /lots/ of babies, not so good at having /healthy/ babies-again, implied to have something to do with their progenitor being slain and humanity's subsequent rise to power.
>>
>>43642978
If it's something I could potentially fail at because of either factors outside my control or a lack of sufficient abilities/skills, then I roll for it. As for the number of rolls, it typically depends on the situation. For example, in Dragon Age wanted to learn Shapeshifting magic, so I rolled once to see if I could find a teacher but failed then I rolled again to see if I could find on the topic in my Library from Endless Legend and succeed. So it's best to only roll however many times as reasonably possible.
