What is GW going to do when Warhammer Total War and other old Warhammer games become very successful and popular? At the very least it looks like TW will be a very big hit.

They could at best release specialist games and support sporadically "collector" "historical" models

They don't want the old world, they want something that can be milked with continuous additions and stories

Rules for battles set in the old world, or massive fantasy battles in general, could get done only when they realize they incentive sales as long as they are willing to spend resources into testing and a creative team, which doesn't seem to be present bar for the forge world team who is still run by fanatics of their own creations

Chaos warriors are not superhuman

>removing core races to sell as DLC
>zero change from already broken arsed rome 2/attila

Enjoy their shekels is what

They won't get much from the video games. They are selling the license super cheap and that's why so many game companies are jumping at it.

Yes they are.

They are as superhuman as a bear or gorilla is superhuman.

I actually really liked Attila. The only issue I found was the propensity of lesser nations to have a massive full-stack army or two guarding their only city, while I struggled to maintain my numbers.

The world felt like it was actually alive, with the cold creeping from the North and forcing you to adapt, rather than just resting on your laurels (pun fully intended); the little touches like fleeing civilians helped the battlefield feel more engaging; the hordes were an interesting new angle too. It may help I got it and Rome 2 late, so didn't see any of the game-breaking bugs that were present at launch though...

I agree about gouging out the Chaos Warriors though. I don't even want to play as them and that strikes me as a dumbass move... Still, the idea of different raced being bundled with expansions to the game world is interesting - more like propper expansions, rather than the rancid DLC practices we've seen lately. Still, given CA's past with DLC, I will admit I'm worried. Cautiously optimistic, but worried.

I'm willing to bet two of these are the same person. Leaning on the first two.

Likely just re-release novels. It's more likely that a fan of the game would go on to read a novel, rather than get into a miniature wargame. After all, if they wanted to play at war they've got the video game for that.

Which is a great idea. Keeps the old fans happy and drums up new business.

Question for the thread:

What would you want to see in the game?

For my two cents, I want campaign level magic to be a thing. Not just combat spells, but useful shit out of a fight too.
>>
>>44106651
Vampires to have a lot of cool units. Really I just want to mess around with that, since you don't see them put in the spotlight a lot.
>>
>>44106651

I really want the Underway to be a thing, at least in whatever expansion brings in the Skaven.

This. Holy shit this please. VC are always brushed aside with Warhammer vidya. I want it to be mixed with

Where VC can use campaign magic to raise the dead from a recent battlefield. Would be glorious

I for one welcome our undead overlords.

Does anyone know what multiplayer is going to be like here? Is s it going to be just single battles, or will we have grand strategy type full map games? I don't play any total war games so I'm not sure how they commonly handle it.

Dominions 4 player here, yeah that get's pretty sweet.

Also, not sure how related this, if you summon an eldritch abomination that feeds and grows on dead corpses and can summon acid rain, try to make sure it never get's more powerful than you can control.
The results are... entertaining, but not to anyones benefit.

...thank fuck the thing could drown.
>>
>>44106745

I remember reading up on something like that. Didn't one of those situations end up with the thing just eating the world?
>>
>>44106760

No, as I said, it basically just wandered into a river and drowned after consuming somewhere in the region of half a million corpses.
