Wow that is one shit summary.
Cho is basically nothing but a bit character and it completely fails to mention that one of the central characters in the movie is Detective Seo, who forms the main dynamic with Song/Park.
Anyway I recommend this too. Besides the cinematography it offers a very interesting look into what life in Korea was like at that time, since Korea was a dictatorship back then and still a third world country everywhere outside of the capitol. The naive but educated city detective and the brutish local authorities are emblematic of what Korean law enforcement was like in those days.
The use of music is absolutely fantastic and it has great directing. There are several scenes of tension which are masterfully done.
The movie also mixes in a good amount of comedy that is tastefully faded out as the movie enters its final act. It is probably one of the finest movies to ever come out of Korea.
