I train with Pilates in the offseason and in-season on a daily basis. Pilates gets my body into a position where I'm activated, I'm loose and I'm ready to go as soon as I step out onto the field. It aids my warm-up process; it gets me much more ready for the day of activity than any other type of warm-up ever has. And the amount of core strength that I've built with Pilates and hamstring strength and hip mobility and mobility in my shoulders and my spine -- those are all things that directly correlate with what I have to do on the field.
I kind of brought Pilates to the Cubs. I went to Ricketts, Jed, Theo, and I told them this is our way to be innovative. In five to 10 years, every clubhouse in baseball is going to be doing this. I think at first a lot of guys were skeptical. But as time has gone by, the amount of guys that are taking part in either a morning routine of Pilates or an afternoon session is pretty high. I'd say there's been 15-20 guys that are actively using Pilates. And they are all seeing the added benefit.

Should add on that the Mariners should probably be a trading team just due to the competition for the AL Wild Card this year. At .500 they're in 6th and with the Rangers and Astros being good they don't have a shot at the division. If they are serious about a playoff run they are going to need to beat teams like the astros or at least make it close. The only game they won was an Iwakuma start and the offense only scratched out 4 runs the entire series, it was an embaressing showing. They white sox and jays series should be the final straw, if they don't dominate either potential wild card team then they are done. Iwakuma is really the only pitching value left on the team that they could part with and they'd be way better off trading him for a prospect or two while he's riding a hot streak.
Anyone else think the Royals should sell at the deadline? They're facing much stiffer competition this year in the division and so far it's overwhelmed them. They're sitting at just a single game over .500 and falling. Injuries and poor pitching have been holding them back. Last year they sold the farm for a rental of Cueto, and it worked, got them their rings, but I think they should sell a couple pieces this year, retool for next year and get some new blood in the system

There is still a lot of baseball to play and this Royals team has shown that they are a second half team. Even if they don't make the WC spot, look to them for the potential spoiler of a postseason run. Given the density of inter-divisional play in September and the fact that this team will not quit, I can wholeheartedly say "Don't count them out yet."

Offense has stagnated a bit to start off the month but they've already shown they can get things going, so I don't think the FO is too worried about it. Also they're waiting for Brantley's return (they say soonish but I wouldn't be surprised they try to rush him again and he gets injured /again/) and Almonte is back and, although he sucks ass right now, they're hoping he turns it around quickly and brings that offense back.
