I always get MMA scoring confusing. So right there would Cruz be awarded the round because he took Dillashaw down twice? But Dillashaw canceled out the takedowns and got out practically right away. I don't think those takedowns counted for much, given that as you said, TJ was up straight away. That said, the round itself was pretty close so it wouldn't be hard to imagine that those 2 takedowns helped sway the round in Cruz's favour when it came to scoring.
What you do with your takedown counts as well as top control, if the opponent gets up straight away, it really doesn't mean all that much but probably is still rewarded in some capacity. In that WebM in particular, Cruz did outclass TJ with the takedowns and showed great level changes so it's sort of like rewarding the MMA technique

He's better in endurance because he paces himself properly and it's much easier to advance while cutting the cage than it is to retreat and circle constantly while getting jabbed and kicked in the legs or clinched.
Really he's only weakness at this point is either a fighter who makes him pay for switching stances while in range or someone like cruz who's whole game is awkward outside movement, counters and dart punches.
