In response to the person asking how I would rank the LA universities here it is
1. LA Tech
2. LSU
3. Tulane
4. ULL
5. ULM
Tulane only has a really good med school and >muh liberal arts, or else I would put them #1. Tech has one of the most underrated engineering programs in the nation and is highly innovative in the cyber field. Our business program is also fastly rising. Not to sure of LSU, but they seem like a "Jack of all trades, master of none" type school where no program really sticks out as great. ULL has a great music program while all others are decent. ULM is the state trash disposal area and should be shut down.

These rankings always give liberal arts schools so much credit and rank them high. Useless degrees shouldn't even count. But Tulane still does have an argument because of how good their med school is. Tech and LSUs curriculum have been compared and ours is harder most of the time, they just have their name. We also go by the quarter system instead of semesters so we have to learn more, faster. You have to be pretty much perfect to pass classes since you don't have a whole semester to make up for a bad test grade, you only have a couple weeks.

1.) UNC is undoubtedly the largest, but only 25% of the fans (specifically, half of the group of fans who didn't go to UNC) care about football. Still, they probably get the most football funding of any program in the state.
2.) NC State, they're easily the largest school in the state. They get a lot of fans who want to be anti-UNC/Duke and they're also pretty cult-like, hating UNC athletics more than they like their own
3.) ECU, has a pretty large student pop ( the 3rd largest in NC) and a decent football program, only significant school in the eastern part of NC. Basically a party school that has fan loyalty because everywhere else in the state has no football fans.
4.) App State, they dominate the western part of the state and have very good fan tradition, only problem in terms of popularity is that it's a backup school, not the best party school in the state (see #3) and the school is pretty small in student pop compared to the top 3 and UNC Charlotte
5.) Duke, their bandwagon seems a lot bigger than it is because it's a fairly vocal fanbase, but in reality they don't even dominate the fan presence in Durham (mostly UNC fans). They care less about football than UNC, which is saying something
6.) Wake Forest, they have next to no fans outside of the Triad (Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point metropolitan area), but the people that go to school there, and specifically the city of Winston Salem, are pretty devout for some reason
7.) UNC Charlotte, they're a large school (around ~200 less students than ECU from the most accurate 2015 enrollment data I could find) but they have no football history, and Charlotte has always been a city with tons of Clemson and UNC fans. They're likely to pass Wake Forest just due to the money they're putting in, the student population, and the relative lack of competition in Charlotte for college athletics (Davidson only counts in basketball)

Big 12 history then shows that the conference championship has fucked the Big 12 more often than helped. I think an article on BR broke down every year and there was only one instance where the CCG helped the B12 into the NC, and like 6 times where it the Big 12 was cucked (not including that time KSU smashed #1 ranked OU still got into the NC). As far as playing ranked teams late in the season? The Big 12 was back-loaded last year...and not playing ranked teams late in the year hasn't been a consistent problem by my eyes.
There's also the problem that adding the wrong teams might water down the big 12 in the eyes of the committee, whether thats valid or not, it could still happen. People still don't take the ACC seriously afterall....
