He is already at a top team, he isn't going to get dropped by a top team ever and the only thing keeping him from wins and WDCs is extremely poor career choices or him potatoing himself. Plus he is still the youngest driver to ever race in F1 and if a driver can remain competitive to age ~37-38, he literally has TWO DECADES left in F1.
He's like a turbojew version of what Vettel was in the late 2000s or what Lewis was in 2007 or what Kimi was in 2002, and he's younger than any of those guys were when they debuted and got good drives.

Of course. I think the future of F1 looks great driver-wise and I certainly hope Max doesn't have it as easy as someone like Vettel.
There are a lot of good drivers that will most likely drive in F1 in the future

McLaren HAVE to give him the seat next year though. I get that Button is a good driver but they really need to think about the future especially now that they have a solid proven good driver (instead of Magnussen/Perez)
Button doesn't seem too sad about it and probably knows there is a place for him back at Williams so he'll probably replace Massa there next year. Massa seems ready to give up and he specifically said he doesn't want to be in a team that isn't competitive, and Williams isn't exactly impressing this year.
Massa is a family man already. He'll retire happily and become an occasional TV pundit or something and then start on project Felipihno and making him into Max 2.0

I think while they're both floundering in the midfield people are under the impression that Button is somehow just as good as Alonso but if McLaren were to be a top runner it'd be Alonso on the podium most of the time.
The only problem is that if Vandoorne is some mega talent who can challenge from day 1 I very much doubt Alonso will be willing to pay nice and we'll just end up with McLaren: 2007 episode 2.
