Friendly reminder that the GOAT of F1 couldn't even beat a mediocre nascar driver in a race.

POWER

inb4 Curry Tits is trying to sign 5 drivers again. One of them being Schumi
>>
>>69159701

>schumi
>not a carbabby

schumachers career:

>lucks into great car with arguably cheating technology
>wins WDC x2 against fucking Damon Hill in a clearly superior machine
>moves to Ferrari
>spends endless hours perfecting the ultimate babbty team and babby car
>gets btfo by some shitty canadian fuck and the fia
>gets btfo by some mongol finn
>gets btfo by his own suspension
>employ the ultimate no. 2 carbabby support driver
>finally the ultimate carbabby team is ream is ready
>win dominantly
>your closest rival retires
>win everything in your babbycar
>"GOAT"

give me one race where schumacher won a race in normal conditions in a car that wasn't front-row material anyway

(jk just joshing of course but still he was a carbabby)
>>
>>69159793
What was Peter Sauber thinking while giving her the power? The average ex-driver knows 10x more than her.
>>
>>69159854

I guess I forgot to mention the fact that Senna died during his first championship season but yea

or the fact that he came back after like 3 years out of the sport, which apparently is 100% justifiable amount of time to go from the ultimate GOAT ever to midfield beaten by nico rosberg because "muh adapting to new regulations" and no one even mentions it because it was just the new cars and new tires he had to get used to i mean 3 years is such a long time and you can easily see a 7x WDC get btfo by an arguably bigger carbabby with no merit to his name (at the time) but nah schumi was the best ever
>>
>>69159885
Peter was likely sick of the sport & getting too old anyway. Plus he probably gets to boss Curry Tits about & fuel his scat fetish as she shits all over Sauber HQ floor
>>
>>69159885

the price balding men pay for some stank ass curry pussy my nigga

>>
>>69159944
Schumacher was 40 in 2010. How many drivers in last three decades where over 40?
>>
>>69159854
Before Rosberg he clearly beat every one of his teammates in his full seasons, more than some of his rivals beat theirs.
>>
>>69160068
>>69159854
The rest just just speculation or twisting things to make him look bad which you can with literally every driver.
>>
>>69159701

I wouldn't call Carl Edwards mediocre. As far as pure driving talent goes, he's top 3-5 in nascar.
>>
>>69159854
i also think he's extremely overrated

but he'll forever be the undisputed champ until someone gets more than 7 WDCs
>>
>>69159885
2befair the team hasn't died and it's not like they have been in a good place financially since bmw quit, so while she's not someone who brings results in the form of points and shit, she has been keeping the team afloat... I mean, she even pulled the 4 drivers thing well in the end.
But she's a lawyer, not someone with a sport sense, so of course it just looks like a mess while the team tries not to die and rebuilds in the process.

And P. Sauber probably just doesn't want to direct anything, but neither does he want the team to die, so designated shit streets works for him.

>>
>>69160068

Great highly rated drivers like Jos Verstappen, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine etc

>>69159992

Yes I know. It is to be expected to be not right up to pace but still. Why did he come back if he was noticeably worse? Of course you don't think it's going to be the "old schumi" back right as he drivers the Merc for the first time, but with all the factors withstanding, is it actually justifiable for him to be so shit? He is the undisputed best ever statistically and he's gone for like 3 years, after which he comes back and isn't even matching Rosberg at first. The point I'm making here is that I know there are things that made his comeback more difficult but even with all those things I don't think it's really that understandable for him to be that bad in comparison to Nico Rosberg. Rosberg isn't total shit but he really isn't the best of the best either
>>
>>69160517
>Great highly rated drivers like Jos Verstappen, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine etc
Barrichello was actually very highly rated.
>>

Indeed he was. Also not a bad driver at all, just didn't have that mentality to really perform at the highest potential at all times like Schumi did

I'm also not really shitting on Schumi that hard, I do think he was one of the greatest if not the greatest. I also happen to think that his results statistically could have easily been in the Alonso or Häkkinen range had he made some less lucky career moves.

Manor would probably reject them for the same reason FI did with KMag - they would never do the equivalent of raising another person's child without reaping some serious benefits from it. Plus, Manor don't need 2 excellent drivers when they're not in a regular points-scoring position - they just need a single Wehrlein or Bianchi-like driver for that.

sauber wouldn't say no, though. but they apparently have investors and ron only wants honda for mclaren.

No, not on any island unfortunately.
A small town in east Attica, near the sea, like a three minute drive away.
We also have another house in Corinthia that is literally right next to the sea but we don't go there in the summer. Shitty sea, all rocks and often jellyfish and some other disgusting jelly like things, don't know what they are called. Very comfy for winter.

Vettel got his first and so was given a 5 place penalty first.

The reason Rosberg is 5th is that they don't move anyone up but leave gaps which they close up after all penalties are applied.

Why do teams like Campos and ART compete in GP2/3 but not F1? Limited number of licences or something? Wouldn't others take a leaf from Red Bull's conveyor belt driver replacement system?
>>
>>69192502
They did compete

It was HRT
>>
>>69192502

It's much more expensive to compete in F1 and you also have to design your own car. They would probably go bankrupt if they tried.

Campos did get a licence in 2010, but they renamed it Hispania and then sold it. ART have considered joining F1, but refused. DAMS considered it circa 1995. Manor tried it but nearly went bankrupt (the only remaining arm of the original team is the WEC team).

M8, GP2 is spec series, it saves a lot of money.
Also the gap in spending necessary to run a GP2 outfit compared to an F1 one is absurdly huge.
Just check the budget that even Manor uses.
>>
>>69192621
In GP2, all teams have the same car, so the teams only have to pay for the cars, tyres, etc. In F1, you need to design the car, build it, buy expensive engines, test the car, develop it, etc. Apparently, in 2014 it cost €300M more per year to run an F1 team.

Well, what's the train of thought to think that something is autistic?
Autistic in my opinion is something that has way too much thinking behind the team name. Like if a team had the equivalent to "GNU/Linux (GNU is Not Unix)".
Cheesy names like "hyper fast turbo" are just dumb but funny, like super aguri, and names based on nationality or team owner are just... normal?
An acronym that's also a word would be autistic as it gets imo, like STRONG (super team racing on natty grapes) or something like that.

It's way too low as a tier for us to know.
Most drivers start in karts, then jump to a formula 3 equivalent, now to gp2, and then to f1.
Single seaters that aren't formula 3 tier are not entry level to gp2, they are more like sidesteps because you haven't secured a sponsor for 3 after graduating from karts.

Someone posted in >leddit the written plan for webber to get him to f1, it's a piece of paper that says something like
>do this series and then this one
>or do this one, do this other, then jump to this one

And basically, anything that wasn't F3 -> F2 -> F1 was full of sidesteps and shit.
BUT it also mentioned budget, so we could see that the shortest path was also the most expensive, and the one with sidesteps and shit was more budget friendly but relied on gaining sponsors for every single shit and so on.

>>69192997

IndyCar runs twin turbo V6's. This is slightly tuned Civic R 4 banger.

The problem with the series is it doesn't really serve a purpose. We already have a pretty OK open wheel ladder WITH scholarship programs to take good drivers up each level.

Karting > Formula Vee/Formula 1600/Formula 2000/ Formula Atlantic > USF2000 > Pro Mazda > Indy Lites > IndyCar/GP2/FR3.5 > F1

And from USF2000 through Indy Lites, there are scholarships for series champions to pay for a season in the following run of the ladder. AND each of those series on the ladder has anywhere from 12 to 18 races per season.

This US F4 kind of exists by itself. There is a "Formula Lites" that the SCCA is trying to get started that is supposed to be equivalent to Formula 3, but it hasn't actually started yet, and to my knowledge there is no scholarship program to bring drivers from USF4 to Formula Lites. And even if it did, what then? How do you make the jump from an American sort-of-F3 to GP3 or GP2? I just don't get what the SCCA thinks they can do that isn't already being done by the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system.

F1 isn't even that much of an achievement.

Once you're finally in you still have years of driving for fucking sauber and toro rosso or if you're lucky mid tiers like Force India and Williams before finally getting a redbull/merc/ferrari drive.

Look at Bottas.
Karting champ>Formula Renault Eurocup champ>Formula Three winner>GP3 Champ>Williams Reserve>Williams 2nd

Now he has to maintain an incredibly high skill level for a long ass time hoping for either a seat at a better team or that williams moves up to top tier.

He's not getting any younger, despite what you may think looking at kimi alonso and button, once you're in your 30's it's only a matter of time before you're replaced.
>>
I genuinely think that Evan's isn't good enough for F1 and would be better served bailing to WEC as soon as possible.

He's also not very well liked and doesn't treat sponsors well, which is F1 poison.
>>
Did Marciello just lose like 3 places in just on corner ?

The Indy Lites champ currently gets a million dollars towards an IndyCar season and a guaranteed three races including the Indy 500. Up to that point, however, they would have been basically running a mirror of what you'd run in Europe

USF2000 > Formula 4
Pro Mazda > Formula 3
Indy Lites > FR3.5/GP3 (not quite as quick as GP2)

They don't make you sign any kind of promise to go to IndyCar and ONLY IndyCar. Assuming you were some kind of wonderkid driver, you could win USF2000 and get a season in Pro Mazda paid for, then win Pro Mazda and get a season in Indy Lites paid for, then win Indy Lites and hope you can attract enough funding to jump to GP2, while hopping back to run a few IndyCar races and the Indy 500.

I honestly cannot get over how shit Gasly is

Either Giovanazzi is somehow the third coming of Senna or Gasly is just really really shit. Giovanazzi goes off into the gravel and loses like 15 seconds and still finishes ahead of Gasly. Not only that, Gasly was basically stuck at the back of that pack of 4-5 cars for several laps in arguably the best set up car on the grid. Giovanazzi catches up to the pack and storms through it with ease and huge pace like it's nothing. Probably could have finished on the podium if there were a few more laps in the race. I have no idea how Giovanazzi was rated prior to this because I didn't watch whatever serieses he raced in before but he really is destroying any sorrt of credibility Gasly is supposed to have as a "future Red Bull driver"

People talk about nigger lewis and how he's a fairytale story champ with his dad spending all his money on his kids dream and how he used to race in supermarket carparks in a 2nd hand kart - but he was still middle class, his dad ran a fucking business...
>>
>>69193455
No chance, investing so much effort and emotion into a sport you know you'll never compete in the top tier for because of ageism is a fucking recipe for suicide.
>>
jumping the start
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9agoL5ORfao

Isn't the penalty in F1 10 seconds for jumping the start? Why not just set off 15 seconds before the light goes out?
>>
>>69193419
Nah m8, Paulaner is literally the worst and cheapest beer in Germany. Try Oettinger instead (if you can afford it lol).
>>
I don't know why parents don't try to maximize the potential for their kids

Kids are amazingly fast at learning and can basically pick up a second language in like 1-2 years just by listening to people talk. You literally cannot achieve that as an adult, or even a teenager anymore. So why don't parents just give their kids these opportunities to see how good they get at a sport or hobby more often?

Put your kid in a go kart, see if he likes it, if he does, he'll probably become good and will forever be better at it than someone who started at age 15. Give your kid a piano or guitar and he'll understand music better than someone who started learning at age 15

Could always become an engineer. You're still an integral part of the competition and they're paying YOU to be there instead of you needing rich parents to pay them.
>>
>>69193482
Because a racing career is expensive as shit
>>
>>69193482

but nah give them an ipad or playstation instead and watch them grow up to be an autist with severe adhd
>>

amx shh, don't give away your strategy
>>
>>69193476
this guy knows his shit.

BUT (!) right now oettinger is on sale, so for a limited amount of time you can buy it at a very fair price.
>>
>>69193476
I've always liked Weihenstephaner. Is that considered okay in Germany? Also opinions on Warsteiner?
>>
>>69193426
I had parents who were keen to get me into karts, and I was keen as shit, but we couldn't afford it until dad started FIFO work and I was 16 when that happened. Other kids my age were moving into formula ford and I missed the window.
>>
>>69193419
I had no idea they sold weissbier in cans.
Ideally it's poured since it's thick, and you need to sort of get the bits that are left in the bottom mixed again.
Paulaner is shit imo, it's just a thin (basically no taste) weissbier found everywhere. I personally like others better since it's a bit more tame and thin that other weissen.
Maybe try Erdinger? it's popular too, easy to find, just remember to pour it well in a glass (empty the whole thing in one go and check how to mix the end remain).
Or this >>69193476 this one is good.

>>69193473
But it's fun no matter the tier.
I know some dude, someone we invest with, who does touring car racing. He's old, but he's our driver, we sponsor him, in turn we get pitlane entry and shit (which we use to attract other sponsor which in turn become investors or business partners too). Basically the fucker gets to drive for fun and make business.
>>
>>69193515
>Watersteiner

Weihenstephan is okay I guess, but I'm not Bavarian
>>
>>69193401

Buy a wheel and get into iRacing.

There's some leagues where the level of competition is pretty much at a professional level and it costs you next to nothing (compared to e.g. F3 or GP2 levels of racing). Give the technology like 5-10 years and it will be very very close to real life (it already is).

Of course the racing is a little riskier because you aren't risking your own life going for a move but from what I've seen, at the higher levels its not like F1 2013 online and it's actual respectful legitimate racing.
>>
>>69193536
There are other, better options for online racing if you're serious about it.
iRacing is more for constant pick up racing anytime you feel like, there are paid leagues based on rF1 which are better.
iRacing feels like racing over ice, terrible physics, the only thing it has going for it is the userbase.
>>
>>69193515
Weihenstephan is fine. But I might be slightly biased since i study @ TUM.
>>
>>69193536
At this point I've decided i'm just going to focus on my well playing non-racing related job and try to invest and make enough money to be well off enough to follow F1 around when I retire early in my 40s'

I'll be that random cunt you see wandering around the paddock talking to engineers behind Ted during his notebook
>>
>>69193536
didn't some finnbro who won the iracing world championship or whatever it is get a drive in a real car?

IIRC, he did 4 laps and spewed all in his helmet, wobbler at fuji style.
>>
>>69193569

True, I was using iRacing just as a blanket term for racing online in general
>>
>>69193572

Weihenstephaner is very exotic. I think I have only seen it in stores near Munich. You should stick with it. Although Warsteiner is very known, it isn't as common as you would expect. People don't like it I guess.

If you can get a hand on Fürstenberg, go for it. It's by far my favorite beer. Unfortunately I can't get it where I live right now.

Rothaus is pretty good too.
>>
>>69193600

Yeah but he is almost certainly a legitimate autist

He did some laps at Road Atlanta and wasn't badly off the pace. He basically vomited because of autism, nerves and the G-forces that he obviously isn't used to, racing online only.

I can't be fucked searchign for the video because it's not that interesting honestly because the guy is an actual autist who can't even speak
>>
>>69193492

Did that pham - did mech eng and ended up working on boats.

Chassis.
>>
>>69193772
bin aero.
technisch ist es nicht das ausgereifteste, verglichen mit top teams, aber sind relativ früh mit der fertigung fertig geworden, können also seit gut 2 monaten schon testen.
>>
>>69193829

>>
>>69194659
Ist eine Möglichkeit. AMZ machts meines Wissens ebenfalls.
Unsere Flügel sind hohl. Zur Fertigung kann ich aber nichts sagen.
