I think Dwight Howard gets a lot of undeserved shit desu.
Yes, he's a diva. Yes, he leaves teams the wrong way. But it's not entirely his fault. He went to the Lakers with an old ass Nash and a dying Kobe. Then he fled to Houston and Houston is just fucking awful and Harden is the most overblown "superstar" I've ever seen.
He's still one of the best rebounders in the league and he's above average defensively. He has a lot of issues like his diva-ness and his injury issues but the fact of the matter is that he's one of the better centers in the league. A 3-year deal with no options also isn't bad. By the time the contract is up he'll have either declined completely or he'll have come back from his injury issues.

Every single Nugs player is better than their Lakers equivalent. They'd have been in with a shout of the playoffs if Gallo didn't die three quarters of the way through last season, and that's without Chandler at all.
This season, with a lighter Nurkic, a healthier Chandler and Gallo, plus offensive threats in Murray and Beasley from the draft, it's looking up for the Nugs. Plus there's Jokic, the advanced stats madman, and if Mudiay continues his post All Star break stats, it's pretty sitting.

That's why I like that we didn't go full Sixers after the blow-up post-post-Melo. There's a really solid team in the Nuggets that's just waiting for a star to take control of, and trading Faried, Joff, Barton and picks for that star leaves the Nugs in a very nice place. Fuck, if we got two stars, and lost Faried, Joff and Barton, our second team would look like:

I really like Nurk. Then again, I like all of our players at the moment. It feels much more like a family than it did back during the Lawson and Iggy times, especially thanks to what Malone has done.
I wouldn't want to see Nurk traded, but I reckon we can trade for a star with just Faried, Joff, Barton and picks, and attract another through FA next year during the massive cap spike (say, Blake Griffin?). Pretty optimistic, but there's always room to hope when you're not competing at the moment.
