A lot of people think this was a shitty trade for NY but look at this way: if they decide to run the triangle then Rose is a perfect fit and Carmelo could play solid minutes at PF. I'm guaranteed that this Knicks team will reach 50 wins in the next season and at least the second round. You gotta remember that it's still the weak ass Eastern conference.

No he isn't. The triangle is based off ball movement. Rose has never been great passing the ball. He likes to dominate the ball. Rose, Melo and Porzingaz is going to be a cluster fuck. Too many guys that need the ball in their hands.

It's not hard to play like Fisher did in the triangle for somebody like Derrick Rose. He won't average as many assists because of the ball movement but using the triangle he can bring the ball up the floor, pass it inside or the wing, keep moving and look for open shots. He's still an above average passer and finisher, too.
I'd say Rose is gonna average around 18/6/6 on 46% next season and make the AS team.

He's way better than anyone they got for him. Still puts up 16ppg, 5ast/gm, and has good speed forcing defenses to adjust.
Sideshow Bob is a bust and hardly a worthy replacement of Noah/Gasol. The other two players are lucky to even be in the NBA and they arent starters.
All of that said, Rose will never be what he could have been. I wish him the best and truly feel terrible for him even though he made lots of money.
