Dromo do bike circuits but they still get graded by the FIA as well.

Bottas is bland but consistent, but consistently decently fast. Just not very exciting. Does what is needed but nothing more, no magic acts, no great surprises, no outperforming expectations. Perez is more electrifying and wild but even he has learned how to control himself, showing to be both consistent and actually super fast on occasion.
Ferrari are acutely aware of Massa's level as a driver and Bottas is marginally better than Massa, and they probably don't want someone who is so comparable to Felipe in terms of pace.

Why was red bull driving slow and getting so much wear on their soft tyres while driving faster on the mediums? I get that their lack of downforce means there's less heat generation, but shouldn't it reduce tyre wear as well, and how does switching to mediums help with the heat issues anyway?

Medium tires are harder, so they heat up slower and generally degrade slower anyway so it made sense for them. Other than that I have no idea why they were so shit on the other compounds. I'm guessing they have to be ultra aggressive in order to compensate for the power deficit so they were probably breaking harder and used a more aggressive throttle map than Merc or Ferrari

They are getting quicker, not necessarily faster. They will have a bigger wind resistence (more aero and wider everything) and the engines aren't gonna make a huge jump, so this record might stand for a while. On the other hand when Red Bull goes crazy with their tiny Monza-wing and Renault is level with the AMG and Ferrari engines they might have a shot.

Ferrari really need to rethink their strategies. Why are they trying to force the two stop in like every race? It doesn't fucking work because their car isn't 20 seconds faster than the Mercedes and the Mercedes guys aren't going to be tricked into following Ferrari into an inferior strategy.
Even today Vettel was kept out considerably past the optimum, not that it really mattered but he lost so much time on those final laps of the first stint which would have cost him hard if there was any actual competition.
It's really not that hard to just drive in FP1-3 on both tires and see how long they last and figure out that its possible to do a 1 stop race and then do a 1 stop like every other logical team. A regular strategy (i.e. what Red Bull/Mercedes did) would have warranted them a victory so far in Australia, Spain and Canada. Maybe its time to learn from these mistakes

True, there will eventually come a point where it is debatable if the cars can actually safely get any faster though and at this rate we are quite quickly approaching it. I'm not talking about a FIA cuckening muh safety I'm talking like too much G's pulled in corners, too physically demanding.
If the regs stay the same till 2020 then the cars are going to be so ridiculous. Engines will be developed to the maximum and the weight of the cars will come down. I'm guessing battery technology will have improved and the huge batteries that make the cars so heavy now will be much lighter, plus all the aero and everything will be so optimized. Considering the rate of development has been 1-2 seconds per lap on most circuits when comparing two consecutive seasons in the current era, without interference from FIA it is not absurd to say the cars are going to be 5-7 seconds faster in a matter of a few years, which would be record breaking on every track by quite a margin
Of course this is just speculation but you get my point

I think you are wrong here, they were careful with Vettel and were trying to avoid mistakes they did in in previous races by not getting behind traffic unnecessarily. They could not box him early, because he would have been behind Bottas and Ricciardo, at the same time Perez and Hamilton were in traffic so not immediate danger and they could just monitor the gap to them and have fresher tyres after pit stop than them.
Vettel lost time only to Perez and Hamilton and with early pit he could have lost even more. While I agree that it was not optimum, but most importantly less risky and they kept themselves in control of situation and not dependent on others strategies.
