Staple also has been saying for a while that the Isles are trying to move Halak. I don't know how much interest the Leafs may have in trading for a goalie, but I think they're looking to put someone decent in net, even if they're not looking to compete next year. He also said that the Islanders may look to trade the rights of Johan Sundstrom. He's still young, he moved back to Sweden last year and had a very good season. I believe he was playoff MVP on the championship winning team. He was also on their world championship team this year, and he's looking to move back to the NHL. I think the Leafs are as good as any to get a shot for him.
