I am done with F1. This was the most undeserved, disgusting win i have ever seen. As funny as the dutch illuminati posts are in the previous thread, they're also kind of not. Either it's someone who has perfected the insane ramblings of a mentally ill person (for whatever reason) or someone with legitimate undiagnosed schizophrenia. That kind of rambling thought fits it perfectly.
There was a guitarist for some shitty metal band who posted a similar rant on their bands facebook page as a reason for quitting the band because of international conspiracies and all this insane shit and then proceeded to kill himself later so that's pretty nice
In F1 related discussion, does being exposed to heavy G-loads have an effect on your brain, especially when still at a developing age? Major sports are only now coming to terms with the fact that boxers, rugby players and ice hockey players (and Chris Benoit), many athletes who experience head trauma or concussions throughout their career end up with the brains of 80 year olds at age 40 and develop all sorts of mental illnesses. Is there a chance F1 could be similar, or for G-forces to have similar impact on the brain? Granted the drivers don't pull fighter-pilot level G's but they're still pretty intense, up to ~4-5 G in certain corners and under breaking and these are guys who start driving super young and are already racing at insane speeds by the time they're 16 and in the case of Max literally in F1 by 17.
Just speculation but somewhat interesting of a topic. Not that I'm an expert
>>68195190
Literally wider than many sections of Monaco, it's not even a fast entry to the corner so what's the hype about? The racing line and de facto circuit with grip in Monaco was 1 car width due to the rain, and most survived it easily.
Cheeky dubs for track work needed during race
>>68195244
What parts of Monaco are narrower? This section is legitimately 6m wide.

>>68195578
It might be about money in this case as the whole GP is basically an advertisement for Baku and the only reason for a 2 KM straight is to enable to have a track that drives past the most amount of historic buildings/sights.
But it is honestly good that they bend the rules sometimes. If they adhered to the rules 100%, Monaco would be gone, Eau Rouge would have to be slowed down (doesn't pass any criteria for a corner really but they just turn a blind eye) and I think there are a bunch of other corners which don't pass the safety requirements, probably something like Copse or 130R are on the limit, even though they kind of cucked 130R already

Is she the only legitimately competitive female driver in motorsport? In Group B no less. She is the type of driver that should inspire women, not fucking Susie Wolff or Carmen Jorda who would be nowhere without their gender.
I'm no rally expert but I know she came 2nd in a season and winning even 1 Group B race is a pretty remarkable accomplishment for any driver. So I guess she was actually good then? Or was she just some ultra carbabby or were there other factors at play, or was she simply just a competitive driver regardless of gender?
What other remarkable truly competitive female drivers have there been in motorsport history? inb4 Danica

But my point is what is Haas going to do in the future? They can't keep being customerbabbies forever with a shitty Dallara chassis.

Haas were good in Aus and Monaco because their chassis is Ferrari's chassis from last year with a few new aero bits and bobs. They were given almost full access to the data Ferrari had on the car and thus were able to set it up well right out of the box, while most other teams were still getting to grips with their new cars.
However since it is essentially last year's Ferrari it meant that they're a year behind the rest of the midfield in the development race.

No doubt she was good enough to race in group B, but her second place in 82 was mostly due to other factors. The Audi Quattro was crazy good and she seems to have beeten her teammates simply because she attended more events.
That said, she could be the biggest carbabby ever and I would still be impressed 2bh. Winning in Portugal and setting a Pikes Peak record too.

there were no carbabbys winning in group B. Sure there were some cars faster than others, but to get any performance out of any of those cars you had to be incredibly skilled; drivability of group B cars was notoriously bad for the most part.

They were also one of the only teams to start the season with an outwash front wing, which was used to seal the airflow to the floor. This essentially made their double diffuser more effective, since it uses ground effects better with a sealed airflow.

Brawn had a major head start on 2009 as Honda gave up on the RA108 a long time before the season ended. There was the diffuser, but the front wing was pretty special too. Add Merc power - even wedged in there initially - and you had a winning start.
Also helped that they didn't use KERS when the works teams persisted. They were boat anchors until about halfway through the season.

It's not just Haas, Renault too are foregoing Supersofts
I guess their thinking is that Super and Ultra are so similar that there's no point in having any Supers.
However I read something saying that Softs and Ultras both hit peak performance at high temperatures, whereas Supers hit peak performance at low temperatures (or it might be the other way around) and that might leave them a bit fucked if the temperature changes.

So each car gets 13 sets of tyres per race weekend. That means:
52 tyres per car per weekend.
286 sets of tyres produced by Pirelli in total for the weekend.
1,144 tyres in total.
Imagine that. They have to make 1,144 tyres for every weekend, and presumably those tyres have to be disposed of too.
Also it means that the teams have to store 104 tyres in their garages for both cars for the weekend. That's a lot of tyres.
>>68217781
that's not even including the 3 sets of wets and 4 sets of inters

F1 is known to be the most stressful sport, and stress hormones slowly kills your brain. Look at Jos Verstappen, he looks like hes in his 60s despite the fact that he is in his 40s. Theres no doubt that even you dont take account of heavy Gs on the brain, the F1 lofestyle and stresses of competing, does degrade a persons health.
>>68217791

>I was going to suggest maybe the wets and inters get carried over if they're not used, but you say they recycle them even if they're completely untouched? That seems a little dumb
at least for the slicks, the teams always prep the tyres by scraping off the outermost layer of the tyres which provides very little grip (i think it's there just to protect them during transit?) so they're never truly "untouched". i'm not sure if it's the same for the wet compounds but i'd imagine so.
it is a bit wasteful but it's a drop in the ocean in the grand scheme of f1

100% this. Group B cars were simply ridiculous. The Delta S4 could do naught to 100km/h (60mph) in 2.5s ON GRAVEL. Not to mention the near undriveable characteristics of each Group B car. It was all power and shit suspension, shit brakes, shit cornering. They didn't even have a handbrake.
Not to mention the dangers of driving these monsters. You could reach extreme speeds and there were almost no safety regulations. Turbo's regularly blew up the engine, they didn't even have fire extinguishers. The spectators created extremely dangerous situations for themselves and the drivers - making the tight roads even tighter with their presence. Drivers had only small intervals between stages, often enough not even sleeping for a day or two. It's a miracle that it didn't end way more lifes than it did.
It was like F1 was in the early 80s with cars just as fast and unsafe, except on shitty tarmac/gravel/ice roads and just a few hours inbetween sessions instead of weeks.
Michele Mouton, and all the other Group B drivers, deserve a great deal of respect.

Yes because downforce really matters when you understeer into oversteer in every tight corner while bouncing in unpredictable directions because your suspension is from the early 80s and your brakes can just barely stop your 800hp turbo and supercharged monster from falling from a cliff and bursting into flames.

To be fair the Quattro she drove was by far and away the most drivable of all the Group B cars due to it's massive understeer thanks to muh Audi engineering putting the engine in front of the front axle. It was hard to drive as quickly as the 037s and 205s but at least you wouldn't be trying to not have a crash through every corner.
>>68218449
>Markus Winkelhock. Started his first race on pole and lead the race for a handful of laps, never to be seen again.
He didn't start on pole.
He was in the last row of the starting grid together with his Spyker teammate Adrian Sutil (Winkelhock replaced Albers who left the team before the race). Before the start the team made the decision to switch hiss tyres to intermediates for the race, being the only driver on the grid to have inters. It then quickly began to rain and he was able to overtake everyone and lead the race as they now all had to go the pits and switch to wet tyres.
The race was then red-flagged and after the raining stopped he was starting first at the re-start only to get BTFO by everyone as his advantage was now gone and he eventually retired with a mechanical problem. It was his only F1 race.
>>68219981
It had an incredibly short wheelbase when they ditched the A1 for the S1 and later the E2 which kinda compensated. Still, I suppose it was a lot more drivable than the 037 which actively tried to kill its passangers. She also drove for Peugeot (the 205 you mentioned) at the end of Group B.

Well there was always an impression of Schumacher that he made at least one or two serious driving errors per season in races, to the extent that he and Brawn acknowledged it after Canada '99.
On an average of 1.5 over 18 full seasons of competing, that's a lot of crashes.
The Benetton in those years was known as a car that was very difficult to balance, the car was always on a knife-edge, as seen from testimonies of Jos Verstappen, Gerhard Berger and Johnny Herbert. So even a minor mistake would usually lead to them swapping ends.
That being said, all of those incidents between Hill and Schu from 1995 were blatantly Hill's fault.
Plus, a bunch of those were practice or quali incidents in the day's before parc ferme. They helped find the limits of the car without damaging race prospects.
In 2004 Jackie Stewart said of Schumacher - "The number of times Michael Schumacher goes off the circuit in one weekend; if he'd done that in our era he'd very soon be dead"
Just to clarify, this isn't me going SIDF, just trying to provide some extra details for discussion.

>>68222358
>Its weird that in normal conditions its unusual to even see someone really lose the car in modern F1.
This is due to two basic reasons
>Cars now are easier to drive (generate much more downforce and mechanical grip) and so are easier to control
You don't see many spins because it's just too hard to overcome the grip limit of the car
>Tracks are easier and standardized
Not just in terms of run off and Lack of gravel and kerbs , but the track surfaces themselves. The FIA has standardized the composition of material used to re-lay tracks, so that the individual asphalts contribute nothing to unpredictability on most circuits. Most full time circuits are also maintained in such a way that any bumps on track near braking zones get resurfaced. Without bumps, the car is unlikely to get unsettled, and thus swap ends.
Also, there is a lot less scope for cars to swap ends. Most of these are from an era where sealing the airflow beneath the car wasn't perfected. So when the car was on the limit, and the seal breaks at the rear, all rear grip would be lost due to loss in downforce from the diffuser.
With the rears becoming more and more planted in the last decade or so, spins became less common
>>68223187

Cooper Sugar
>>68228809
Why the fuck did Emmo spend 5 years driving a shitbox in his brother's team?
>>68229494
I get it. For me, it was Copersupercar...
>>68229497
He already won two WC titles, I guess that's why.

Webber really should be dead all things considered.
>>68239400
The price: he's already dead inside.

He really has had some spectacular crashes. Watching this one, at first I thought his career was over, there's not much left of the car.
>>68235496
ei jumalauta...
I fucking hate that nigger. Toto, Lowe, and everyone else at Mercedes are probably cringing every time they see Lewis doing this shit. One time he is doing his job and driving well, winning them the Monaco GP. Then he goes motocrossing with Bieber.
>posing with degenerate celebs
>writing religious bullshit on Twitter
>his fucking rap career
>the douchy way he dresses
>how he goes into angst mode every time someone beats him.
How does this guy have fans? Is it just the British lower class chav society who likes him?

Is Lewis gonna win it for da Land this Weekend?
>>68240238
That doesn't seem like a race weekend just looks a bit off to me. Is it some sort of promo event?
>>68240357
nah, it was during the race weekend. the Portier area is always a lot more quiet than the harbour.
>>68240352
Lewis you're 31 ffs, why are you hanging out with fucking teenagers you balding fuck
>How would you prefer your front straight? Less chicanes, more? Or more chicanes and front straight into back straight?
>>68239348
I love watching this over and over again, and everytime I see it, and this is the best part, I see a tried and well known defensive manouver that has been in the sport forever followed by a completely inept overtaking attempt on the grass from someone who is either extremely frustrated and buttblasted or just a bad driver.
>>68240382
Perhaps it's a gay May-December thing.
Maybe Justin and Lewis will soon get to have their very own "celebrity threesome" gag order!
>>68240432
>you will never go to all GPs of the season and ask stupid questions in broken English to drivers
Been watching some old GPs from the 1978 - 2015 torrent.
Any recommended races I should watch?

>Gentleman. Last year Mexico. This year Baku. Next year Monza in Italy. Three new chicanes in three years. Do you looking forward to new chicane or do you you err regret not to find back to the eliminated chicanes in the past like Imola, Spa, Singapore or Valencia. Question only for the four pilots who know this eliminated chicanes I mentioned. Perhaps beginning with Fernando. Lewis, Kimi and Romain.

a look at caterham's empty base. quite interesting.
Seems Hamilton's power has left him for another, younger blathlete to let them rise. Death or retirement to follow soon

Yeah depends where you live. But its not usual to get like this.
This is one of the coldest winters so far apparently so if you live in a high altitude place and near the south it's going to be very cold.
Good timing for the Canadian gp indeed
>>68229253
They officially raced as Fittipaldi - Ford I think. Can't remember well...
>>68239772
Maybe those fans like him as a driver and for his achievements and are not 12 year olds whom are so hung up on celebrity shenanigans, browsing social media all day and whining about every little non-related thing a famous guy does or doesn't do in his free time and then get hysterical about it.
who cares he's fiends with bieber, who cares what he wears or that he likes other things then just driving.
I know, 4chan is for youngsters but damn man, grow the fuck up.
>>68241699
They like him because they want to be him. Its aspirational television. They want to be chocofaggots.
