>LEICESTER RANIERI ARSENAL Vardy / LEICESTER (England) - L ' Arsenal push hard for Jamie Vardy , now comes confirmation from Leicester . After rumors circulated yesterday evening that the 'Gunners' WOULD BE to present the 'Foxes' the offer for 23 million euro release clause provided for by this contract the attacker, the champion of England manager, Claudio Ranieri , comes out: "It's all true," the brief statement reported by 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. Now the ball goes to the player, who currently receives about 5 million Euros per season and will have to discuss the new contract with the Londoners.

In fairness our best performance last season was Man U at home, when Walcott played through the middle and was BOG. If Walcott's out and Vardy's in, the thinking must be that Vardy can do that job more consistently. Harder worker and cleverer movement than Walcott. Probably worse technique generally but a better finisher. idk
the way I'm trying to look at it is that once Walcott goes, the net price for Vardy might be close to zero. could potentially sign another forward still

Yep, but part of that is that Walcott only put in like three good performances all season. If that's the blueprint, I'll back the likes of Ozil, Alexis, Xhaka to do what they need to so if you get a striker who'll play their role consistently too
I dunno, just trying to see the logic. For all the talk that Vardy needs a counter attacking team, that's an example of us playing with a mobile striker and dominating a game on our terms.

There was a time last season when things were going well when we saw the positives of Walcott through the middle. Maybe Vardy can do that job but better

When Theo plays well for us (eg the United game) we look really fucking lethal.

We're signing a better Theo.

I get that Lester play counterattacking football but Vardy can fit into our system too. Giroud didn't fit into our style of football and in terms of numbers he's done alright. If we can get Giroud 20-odd goals a season we can definitely get Vardy to score.

Theo is definitely better on the ball though, doesn't matter how many of you want to deny it
He is a more intelligent player as well.
Though Vardy is a great player, his determination and finishing will be a great asset to have.
If we can't have a top 5 striker, why not have Vardy? It's a good gamble from Wenger
>>
>>68095076
I'm a /lifelong/ but I find it hilarious that Arselel are signing the Leicester leftovers
>>
vardy is perfect for getting onto ozil passes as long as he can remember how to finish

he will also work well in tandem with sanchez as they both play high tempo and harry defenders without the ball

the only worry is that he's 29 imo

>>68095085

neither of those things are true about theo though m8, how many chances does theo craft for himself compared to vardy?
>>
I don't even want Vardy, he's the definition of a 5th-6th place purchase.

Livershit or Tottenham should be after him, not Arsenal.

What the fuck is wonga playing at?
>>
>>68095089
If Arsenal actually get one good season out of him, with 25+ league goals and scoring them in crucial games, then £20m would be well worth. Arsenal have been shocking at scoring chances.
>>
>Vardy
hahahahaha holy fuck, I thought getting Imbra was bad
>>
>>68095118
if you want that you better switch to raking 25m passes to him m8 since that's his game
>>
>>68095118
Even if he's not as good as last season, it'll be enough
It sounds silly but almost any striker is better than out of form Giroud, so why not have a good striker to complement Giroud's weaknesses
>>
Why dont we get Mahrez too?
>>
>>68095104
Arsenal have finished the likes of 3rd and 2nd with Giroud up front. You could argue that next season will be stronger, but that remains to be seen. As long as the likes of Alexis and Ozil stays, then there's hope. Currently Arsenal don't know how to finish outside the top 4.

Here's a great description of Vardy by spielverlagerung.de. I translated it online, so if something is no clear just ask

Another forward for whom these aspects are also valid is Jamie Vardy. This is not underestimated since Leicester cities championship title probably any more, however, needed years to gain a foothold in the professional football. His spectacular rise from the depths of the English amateur football demonstrates one: Cool movement play is not dependent on level.

Vardy is because one of these forwards who put under pressure constantly with her runs the opposing defensive and create Dynamiken as well as start of play possibilities for the players.
These players like "space interprete" Thomas Müller Alexi Sanchez or Pedro are a valuable rarity in the professional football and they are often only esteemed when they reach exorbitant gate rates or how Müllers succeed for years away. Sanchez, for example, is valid rather than a dribbler.

The art of an actual run is much more difficult to master than one thinks.
Many players have a big dynamism and use them also with long sprint, but the least ones can thereby create also tactical dynamism. For it one must anticipate the structure of the play to a certain extent and can be of use. One must create it that one goes to the depth when the defence stands – and that one does not run along simply with the defence.
Then because one gets to crack the defensive line, and forces not only a run duel in which one himself has the worse road.

The problem with the movement play is that it often allows to polish the players and not same. One generates individual striking force with it only if one has somebody in the team who also plays the right passports. Thereby it can be even actual at high level often than with bad football – Vardy could be overlooked long. Be excellent movement play full of pressure was only paired with good Konterstrukturen of Leicester and the passport play by Ryad Mahrez obviously actually.

Besides, Vardys structural intelligence allows to him to be actually in the Pressing and also to exercise effect in more static situations with his positioning. Thus he plays a lot of filing and can train in this manner against low-pressure area-standing opponents striking force.
Then with good Antizipation he comes at the right moment and thereby with tempo profit in the penal space. In addition he has a very quick and clean decision-making as well as ball processing with high speed. As a movement forward he is also complete; he needs only one certain tactical basic level, so that it also recognises the unskilled eye.

Can't even remember Walcott's goals. I'd argue that Vardy goes about his game in a much more clever way than Walcott, judging by the big difference in effectiveness between the two.

Also, most of Vardy's goals resulted because of someone hoofing it out on the counter and him running onto the long ball, nothing clever about that.(Sure, he takes smart paths and times his runs decently well, but that's about it)

Nah, too lazy to figure out where to find them without the PL having taken them down already. I'd have to invest too much time into a lame discussion.

Besides, I have seen Walcott lose the ball to players who were on the floor. The guy is the living definition of bantering his way through people.

>most of Vardy's goals resulted because of someone hoofing it out on the counter and him running onto the long ball, nothing clever about that.
>(Sure, he takes smart paths and times his runs decently well, but that's about it
Which requires intelligence, stating otherwise is odd. And it's not something Walcott can do better anyway. So far all I've heard to prove Walcott's so called higher intelligence is that he apparently scores goals and gets assists that are more complex, which due to lack of access, I can't verify. Plus, that, for reasons that should be obvious, doesn't tell the whole story.

Not that surprising, Koeman has always been a little bit sensitive for a move to anywhere a little bit more promising to where he is now if you offer him enough money and power to do exactly whatever the fuck he wants. He doesn't have that much patience.

I'd argue Everton has more to offer in terms of potential in squad, overall support and an amazing academy + a new owner who wants to take them to the next level. There is a bigger threat at Southampton that they'll lose their best players than at Everton.

You can argue that Everton is an overall more exciting place to be than Southampton at the moment. The bigger issue is, how big is the chance that Koeman would've been able to join a club much bigger than Everton in the near future? As in, the traditional top-4 sides in Arsenal, Chelsea, United and Liverpool + Man. City. Not that big desu. Well, maybe United, but that's a big if.

So he'll be looking to follow Pochettino and try and attack the established order with Everton, something that I don't think he would've been able to do with Southampton. Their most important player is basically Wanyama. He's already overachieving with them for two seasons in a row.
>>
>>68096713
The Cowman does not wait for anyone, you have to be udderly prepared for it.
>>
>>68093674
>He's fucking 29

So? He's in his prime and you'll get at least 2 good years out of him. 20m is nothing in this day and age, relegation fodder are now spending that on players. Also his career has been very short compared to most players, so his legs may hold up longer than the average player.

Wait a second, so you're telling me that now all we have to do is tell Ozil to boot the ball up the pitch and we'll score a goal?

I'm totally okay with that.
>>
>>68096891
But when Everton lose Stones and Lukaku this summer things will instantly look less promising and their squad will look worse than Southampton's. This should be a massive factor.

On the other hand, Koeman has proved to be good at recruiting players and they're about to sign the recruitment GOAT in Monchi. Plus new owner will give him a massive budget + £100m from the Lukaku and Stones sales. Things could be nice tbf.
>>
>>68096932
Yes, very good point. That's one of the reasons why people think West Ham has the potential to grow into a regular title contender.

>>68096961
Even without Lukaku and Stones, they'd be in a stronger position than Southampton to get very strong replacements. I'd argue that their squad would still have more talent in them than Southampton's and Everton can put up a stronger fight against teams going for their best players than Southampton.

Also, when looking at the possibility that Everton is likely to lose Lukaku, might lose Stones and maybe even Barkley as well, you must also consider that Southampton looks likely to lose Wanyama, Mané and Long. Maybe Van Dijk and Forster too, they've been easy to sell in the past.

I'd rather rebuild things at Everton than at Southampton myself.
