Wednesday are probably the most underachieving club in the UK considering their resources, with the possible exception of their cross-city neighbours. Every other major UK city has had at least one team achieve some success in European competition, yet Sheffield consistently underachieves and pretends that gates of 25000 in a city of 500000 is somehow admirable. They won a couple of titles in the twenties which makes them slightly less relevant than Huddersfield Town. Despite all this their fans insist that they are some kind of sleeping giant because they manage to piss on Sheffield United. Sheffield United are perhaps the only club in the world that could be any more pathetic than Wednesday, yet the Wednesday fans treat being superior to them as their crowning glory. They actually believe that this is some Real/Barca tier shit. It's more like some kid thinking he's cool by picking on his even younger brother.
And yet, even though their fans are delusional given their team is wank and they have had fuck all success, they aren't even relevant enough to be the most hated club in Yorkshire, everybody hates Leeds far more. Wednesday wish they were Leeds. That's how bad it is being a Wednesday fan.
