Well, I don't really have any better options anyway. Really young regens with a lot of potential don't want to join generally and the alternative is 25+ year old players for just as much that aren't as good.
That being said I did bring in half a dozen of regens that would join but it will take years for them to be ready for the first team, if they ever will. So, in the mean time, I'm spending dosh for already good players that still have some potential left.
Foxy is already worth more than his release clause so he might be leaving in the future. I did try offering him a new contract but he wanted 500k a month and the minimum release fee locked at ~40 mil.

When I first played a british LLM in FM16 with Chester, I got a godly regen on my first year.
Sold him for 1 million at 17 to Swansea with a 50% sell on clause. He ended up being a first team player worth 30 million. My facilities were literally dog shit. I'm not asking to get a player like that, but seriously, I'm a premier league club, some decent regens wouldn't fucking hurt.

Bought him 3 seasons ago from Avellino by chance. I sold them one of my players and checked out their squad and he was there available for 850k with another ~500k spread over several months.
He's still a 5 star potential, every other 5 star potential player ceased to be 5 star after my squad became stronger every season, but not him. He developed really well. If he continues in this vain he's going to be my first choice in a couple of years (hopefully).
