A good example of of apply how soccer would work in football, at least for the Premier League. The winner of the Super bowl gets the first picks in the draft and are given a higher salary cap than other teams, same forth with the other teams that do well in the playoffs and so forth while the last place teams get kicked out of the NFL and replaced with Ohio State or Alabama.
So the rich teams get richer and the poor teams get poorer. Since unlike where you see teams have boom and bust cycles (Unless they cheat like the Patriots), the top teams will always be at the top and unless they suffer a server fuck up in management (Think 49ers tier fuck up) They won't collapse on their own since they get all the money and talent.
