It's confirmation bias. Of course he makes some mistakes, but he does great on the vast majority of his defensive possessions. The team looks better with him on D and it's reflected by the numbers.

Next possession, shows on the pick and roll (again, what you say he doesn't do) to cut off a drive by Kemba, then on the same possession contests Lin (who gets bailed out by a foul on another Heat player). Two plays later, back up the perimeter defender to contest Kemba in the pick and roll, Heat get possession. Next play, forces Al into a bad miss off a post-up. Next play, actually does make a big mistake, but does again what you say he doesn't do and comes up to set a hard trap on Lin out of the pick and roll.
All in all, he's doing great on the vast majority of possessions.

Frank IMO is closer to his ceiling, which is pretty sad, but that's what you get when you pick older guys. His defense isn't going to get better. At best he learns to shoot and becomes a shitty version of Ryan Anderson.
