>third season, request another expansion
>another 50k or so, same deal
>end of third season, just after moving back into the expanded stadium
>board suddenly announces they're taking out a huge loan to build a new stadium, and selling the old one for 50k
>>66903186
At least we're so rich that 5 millions is literally nothing. And there seems to be a roof of some sort, we'll see. I hope I can expand it by twice its capacity or I'm definitively cucked beyond belief.
>>66903186

Yeah, I was flush with cash because all the Continentals were overpaying for my money making ventures that summer.
But still, I planned on using him as a BBM that would win back the ball and help distribute to my AMC or WBR and crash the box. He just never worked out. He would disappear in matches and get nervous a lot and make mistakes. I don't know how a player who dominated a WC final would get nervous playing QPR on a Tuesday night, but whatever.
It's actually pretty true to life so I can't complain.
Can I get a quick rundown on regens. Like I've read the guides and I'm still struggling about when to have youth intakes.

>>66903616

They only happen once a year senpai, they're automatic.
>>66903616
Youth intakes occur once a year and it's automatic on a set day.
You can see the dates here:
http://www.passion4fm.com/football-manager-2016-newgens-dates/
As a general rule, it's toward the end of the season. Leagues that play in summer will have youth intake dates in the fall. Leagues that play in the winter will have youth intake dates in the spring. Only a general rule of thumb.

desu lad, I doubt that Pulisic will ever become a champions league tier player.
People vastly overrate how much more a young player will grow after making it to the senior squad - people are inclined to think "he's already useful at 17? he will be great in 5 years!" but that only works in FM. I feel that players only rarely develop much further after getting into the senior team.
Players mostly only mature in the way that they play, they have more experience and it helps them improve their decision making and makes them more consistent as they develop a more stoic approach to the game. Some players also develop physically until their 20s, but ability-wise, a player won't be much different at 23 than he was at 19. the skillset of the player, his technical ability, what he's capable of remains largely the same, the player can just perfect his skills a little if he's dedicated and can work on the mental aspect of the game etc
Think about it. Think about every very talented player in the last 10 or so years, think about how good they were in their debut year and compare those performances to what they could do after 5 years. its mostly the same. arrows dont exist in real life.
so, it really boils down to: does pulisic have the skills to make it at a CL club?
I'd say that he does not. he has a good work ethic, he has flair and he really tries his best, but he's just not good enough. his playstyle is one dimensional, he lacks vision and he has literally 0 end product. his finishing is shit (even though he scored today) and his passing is atrocious desu, given how much we work on passing accuracy and pass power/weight.
he cannot cross, he cannot pass, he does not think enough when he's playing. when he has the ball on the wings he just runs down the line and hoofs it in without ever looking into the box. he does not check who's around him before he receives a pass etc.
he won't ever make it, the best he can do is play at a club like stoke
>>66906322
t. Felix Passlack
>>66906368
to be 100% serious: Passlack is much less talented and gifted, but I expect him to do better careerwise than Pulisic. Pulisic is mostly a meme player if you look at his capabilities, Passlack is a hard worker who has more stamina than Großkreutz (who is underrated, by the way) and he's solid defensively. Bundesliga clubs love players like him so I can see him play as a fullback for a >Schalke tier club.

Did SI ever give a reason why they number attributes from 1-20 rather than 1-100 or even 1-50? Is it because it is too difficult to make minute differences like 78 passing vs 84 passing actually differ in the ME?

I prefer them as they are tbqh. Any more than 20 and it would be too much
>PEE-KAY
>>66906777
Reminder that attributes don't just go from 1 to 20 - they are actually decimals. A player with a rating of 13 in passing could have anything between 12.6 and 13.4 passing (increments of 0.2). So the scale is much more refined than just from 1-20, they could easily just switch to a 1-100 system but I think it's better this way - its pretty ridiculous to have numbers from 1 to 100 because a 1 point difference is nothing at that point

Took them from bumbling mid-table shitters to a solid ever present top 4 side, won the league without spending a fortune and had to put up with non-stop shit from retard Arsenal fans who wouldn't know what a football was if it smashed them in the face. It's the same fucking merry-go-round every single season
>"In Wenger we trust, title is ours this year, just watch us win the CL without even spending money"
>"WONGA OUT! WHY DOESN'T HE FUCKING SPEND ANY MONEY!? WE NEED A REAL MANAGER!"
They're on his back constantly then have the cheek to leave matches early because they're dominating 4-0 and they've already won. The only time they stay until the final whistle is when they get beat so they can have an excuse to complain. Maybe he has outstayed his welcome and should have went somewhere else a few years back, but the fact remains that without him Arsenal would have been completely irrelevant and Arsenal fans don't get it.
>>66911956
At this point, I want them to get a coach like Mouyes who absolutely takes them to shit in 1 year. At least then they'll shut the fuck up about how bad their good coach was

Not even plastics, cardboard fans at best FFS.
>Berbagod
>>66911999
Ah but that will be when they all turn into Arsene fans again and act like they never said a bad word about him. The worst thing is the constant flip-flopping usually based on a handful of recent results.
>>66912001
The problem is this. >>66912095
Other than that, as Chelsea, United and Liverplopp have shown, that CL place isn't something to be taken for granted. And you can always be a mid-table shitter
>>66911999
I keep getting the feeling they're going to end up just like United. They'll bring someone in who'll spend a huge amount (because the fans demand it) and they'll drop out of the top 4 or really struggle to make it. A lot of them think CL is a given for them because it's all they've ever known and with a new manager they'll take that next step and win it, but when you've had a manager that long at a club it's really difficult for someone new to come in and take them to that next level (depending on the manager obviously). I think they'll be in for a real rude awakening when he does leave.
>>66912001
I agree that something does need changed, but you have managers who do better with less to spend (or who buy players cheap) because if they don't work out there isn't as much pressure and you can easily move on from them, but Arsenal fans scrutinize every deal he makes and expect them all to be world beaters purely because he has picked up some good players for cheap. They see other clubs spending money and they want the same, but on the other hand it's putting enormous pressure on Wenger to deliver if he doesn't like spending big, but he feels he has to to appease them. We both know how many meme players there are that are a fortune purely because they're hyped to fuck regardless of their actual ability so he'll buy one to get them off his back while disregarding someone who could have done something because he wouldn't get a game because of the Hollywood signing they made.
>>66912064
Yeah I remember that. They're embarrassing as fuck, I remember when Adebayor celebrated in front of them and they went wild. If they had stormed the pitch they wouldn't have done anything anyway because they're pussies. You watch any Arsenal home game and you think they're holding a 90 minute silence before you hear that shit "ARSE-NAL!" "chant", one of the only two they have.
Oh yeah, forgot. Place your /bet/s.

Just tell the kiddies they can't go to anything other than senior games.
i got two questions familia, i'd appreciate if someone could answer them.
> is it possible to play defensive football with AMR and AML?
two of my best players are attacking wingers and here's my problem: i win the treble comfortably in every season, but as soon as i get in the champions league, i get my ass handed to me. i can't seem to work out a tactic that would work against better teams, with AML and AMR in it. would setting their individual instructions to close down more / tackle hard help with them doing more defensive work? obviously if i come up against fucking real madrid, those cunts can't just wait up there the whole game, while we get raped. my midfield is deep lying player on defend, cm on defend and advanced playmaker on attack. in the league i move that advanced playmaker to the AMC.
> are release clauses ever good for anything, from manager's point of view?
like, do you ever put them in the contract yourself or do you try to avoid them at any cost? would they work for example if a player tries to force a move and then there's an option to tell him that you'll let him go, if the other club matches your evaluation of him or something along those lines. would it work in this case, if i didn't let him go, unless someone matched his release clause?
thanks, familia.
>>66912621
>are release clauses ever good for anything, from manager's point of view?
not really. but players do like them, so if you're signing someone for what you know is likely to be a short-term deal (ie. he's 33 and your team is rapidly improving), it can be a sort of bargaining chip to get them to accept a slightly lower wage
>>66912621
>is it possible to play defensive football with AMR and AML?
This is my defensive setup, dnno how effective it is, but it seems to win me games against superior teams so i dont complain.
>the city of Barcelona's finishing
start shouting at your players before the game and at half time, Enrique
I guess I'll go with the old fart, much cheaper, is EU and I suppose he'll be decent enough until I need replacement in 2 years or something. One year plus one in option feels like a decent deal; he'll be good immediately and if he turns to poo I'm not stuck with him.
>>66912621
tell them to manmark players, use the right mentality to make sure they drop enough (defensive, counter).
on defensive, they'll drop so deep that it makes next to no difference.
>Very interested, so can be unsettled even if Inter doesn't want to sell
>Requires roughly 100k wages
Well fuck me, I'm losing my GK and I'm not getting another one. Gotta try anyway.
>>66912731
If only Hadanovic wasn't so greedy, but I guess it's Inter's fault for paying him 97k/w seriously, no wonder Italian football turned to shit.
Lads, does that black star mean that his potential could be higher? He was one of my best prospects, but it went down this season, I'm guessing because my team got better.
>>66912949
yeah, it's uncertainty, it means somewhere in the 3-4 range
>>66912316
>>66912517
Obviously this changed a few things. Denmark doesn't upset Belgium and >Argentina. Messi did score however. Next time better call Federico Vietto asswipes. :^)

Yeah, I can also find some consolation on the fact that Norwich somehow won, so I wouldn't've made it anyway.
>>66913009
I demand a rematch.
>>66913077
It's an upset, Missi will score an hat trick next time and we won't be talking about that anymore.
>>66912778
And player is unsettled. Now time to cave in his egregious wage demands.

Dude, what the fuck are you on about.
Just learned I was banned from twitch.

I wonder how Tom would feel about that.

Its a learning process, now hes learned that overloading in playoffs when you dont need goals isnt the greatest idea.
Can't even sleep anymore. I'm legitimally angered.

Tbh I'm not too mad, I don't mind if it takes 39 seasons to get to CL champion status, it just means I'll take a few weeks extra :^)

He lost us like 100k promotion bucks so I'd say it was worth it (not really I regret everything)

It will never cease to amaze me just how awful that whole defence is.

I have a feeling that the AI is copying my tactics, all of a sudden "everyone" plays this setup

tactics seem to disseminate over time, Grenville had the 4-2-flat 4 spread in his Nottm Forest save

too much salt
Should I retire the Dartford save and move to a different country to play someone in the third tier somewhere
>>66915007
Play lyn bro.
You probably wont have to suffer the pain of letting the player with cancer go cause the team outgrew him.

Is Lyn a meme or are you serious here
I might try a season with someone else while I'm making the journey to uni on Tuesday and see how I feel
>>66915007
you haven't even finished with dartford, how the hell could you retire now.

it's his "meme"
(aka he posts it every single time someone asks for ideas for a new club)
