I just wrap the base grip over itself once, and then the overgrip over itself twice. Advantages of having a 1HBH. i tried taping like you did but I don't like it, it doesn't have as much of a smooth, "progressive" feel/transition to it if you get what I mean.

I think you can make about any racquet arm friendly depending of where you put the weight no matter what the stiffness is; it's just down to how heavy it will be when you're done customizing it. Stiffness helps but doesn' tell the whole story. The previous APDs were significantly less stable (twistweight/recoil weight) than the Pure Aero despite having a beefy swingweight except for the 2013 (plowthrough). Basically it mean that you can hit mean balls, that the higher SW will tire you down faster and that it's horrible for you on off center shots. The stiffness doesn't help of course. Obviously 99% of it is technique but still.
My teaching pro has a pair of Pure Aero. I think they're more comfortable than the previous versions despite being just as stiff, less jarring on off center shots and more stable. The different string pattern, a bit more open makes the shots a bit more springy however.
