nah that was a different situation, through most of the game I was more like "this can't be happening, we are making so many stupid mistakes. we're a better team than this, this is NOT how it usually goes."
then in the second half we stuck to our identity (run the ball, field position, defense) and it was paying off. they had no answer for gore. the only question was whether or not it would be enough to make up for the shitshow in the first part of the game.
then we're 1st and goal within the 10 yard line and down 3 with just over 2 minutes to go, so I'm thinking we're about to be up 4 and just have to have our defense hold out and not give up a touchdown because a field goal wouldn't be enough.
so I was super hyped at that point with hope at its maximum. instead of it all falling to pieces at once though, we made 4 dumb plays and basically threw the game away.
rather than being crushed by that loss, I was pissed to no end. that should not have happened either in the beginning or at the very end, and it was all preventable. you could have played that matchup many many times and I still believe that we would have come out on top for a large majority of them. instead, we rolled a critical miss due to operator error. shit was infuriating.
still not as bad of a ride as the 2011 NFCCG though, just more meaningful.
