He's 22. The same age Ramsey, Walcott, Song etc. were while performing appallingly. You'd think being an Arsenal fan would teach you patience for youth but apparently not.

Problem is, even when Ramsey was playing badly, you could see that he was TRYING to do certain things (but failing). Ox doesn't really seem to be showing any promise and he clearly has regressed.

I want to be proven wrong though; I'm not one of those to just say our own players are irredeemably shit, as it's surely best for our current players to develop instead of bringing in more players.

Your mind is calm
Nothing but football matters
Years of practice on the streets of Paris are engraved in your soul
The ball dances to the fleet of your feet
You've travelled the world to prove you're better than your generation
The greatest manager in your nationโ€™s history has given you & one of your bros your dream shot
From a small broke club in Lens to the big time
Training starts off easy
Olivier, Laurent, Mattheiu, Mesut & Theo along with the rest of the club are so welcoming
Theo, Calum, & Alex even took you & Yassin to get haircuts
Wenger even smiled when you dribbled around Flamini's two-footers four times in a row
Theoโ€™s been really awesome about telling you how everything works
See Ozil perform perfect throughballs to Theo
You gotta get him to show you how to do that
Trade Mesut your signed red card and boots combo from Flamini for goat vision lessons

FAST FORWARD TO THE WOLFSBURG

Dribble, dragback, cut left, pull right, burst past the tackle, donโ€™t overhit the pass
BANG! Your new teammate barely missed out on getting you that sweet assist
Gameโ€™s over but youโ€™re so happy that we got a dominant win over those Lyon cunts
Wengerโ€™s praises me and Iwobi
Tells me the next day that you get to start
Things start off rough
They keep kicking you from behind because Francis wasnโ€™t there to kick them back
Mikel was already tired because some Ginger cunt kept dragging him all over the pitch
Iโ€™ll show that waffle what happens when you fuck with El Capitano
You bait him with the ball to lure in a tackle
Then in one smooth motion pull the ball back and dribble away like a boss
Game is still 0-0
Theo tells you to relax, everything will be fine
You manage to pick up the ball where Mesut normally was
shimmy right, evade the tackle, then perfectly weight the ball
THEO SCORES
>tfw you only wanted to make your new bros happy
>tfw your first assist was to Theo
>tfw he says thanks Jeff that was the best ball of the day
>tfw that Theo feel is the neato feel

stop being a pussy. yeah we know that having city ~5-6pts behind right now would be a hell of a lot nicer than 3pts behind, but given that the prem as a whole is down and arsenal is #1 right now only because a proper ~85+ pts team hasn't established itself yet = it never was gonna be this easy to just drunkenly stumble into a PL title.

>city has 10 goals in the last ~15mins of PL games this year

they ARE asking for it.... and since they're basically going to win it by default if nobody else steps up and takes the prem, it's up to >us to exorcise some demons and take the fucking EPL.

honestly once arsenal got their 3pts today my weekend couldn't be ruined by city getting 3pts, it could only be helped by them getting less than 3pts. that didnt happen. still a solid weekend IMO.

now stay in the FA cup and dont drop pts to liverpool/stoke and we'll go from there.

i have to admit that his first month with arsenal got me hyped up enough to roll the dice and make my 14-15 home kit a CHAMBERS/21 kit.

i figured that i'd either be ahead of my time or end up with a suitably hilarious kit like my invincibles-era BENTLEY/37 kit. i know it's possibly tryhard/hipster, but i found it amusing when i did the FA cup final at the local arsenal bar and i was the only guy there literally rockin a bentley =D

>TLDR = i think he's cromulent/useful squad depth and i'd honestly rather see what he can do @ DM (in a pinch) as opposed to trotting out arteta.

that said, he scares the shit out of me @ RB and i'd rather see the archbishop of banterbury get recalled to back up bellerin than know i'm going to see every winger and their mom get baseline every time against chambers @ RB (shit positioning / no recovery speed / walking yellow card like he's the natural flamini replacement after this season)

uhhh anon, obvious b8 aside you know that arsenal is actually a squad that will continue to give ox/wilshere/welbeck/walcott chances over guys like campbell/etc just because of >MUH ENGLISH CORE and all that, right?

specifically with ox and campbell.... look at how one guy (ox) has basically been given chance after chance after chance to go out there and prove he's mostly (injured) shit since the age of 19 over campbell, who 2bqh has done a pretty solid job of AT LEAST not shitting the bed when given actual playing time out there.

personally i think campbell could even prove to be "arsenal quality" if he continued to get minutes.... but look at today's squad... once ox is back and fit campbell is totally an afterthought cuz >we owe it to ox to prove arsene right or something.
>>
>>64633071
>record aften ramsey was moved to the middle

And he's partnered with shit in the middle with cazorla and coq out.

I don't mind him out wide either, as long as he's in the team, everything's good. Offers so much to the side

also

>>64633071

wtf are you smoking and where can i get some? how the hell can you possibly come to that conclusion about ramsey? i think you waste him out wide cuz the thought is that he HAS to be on the field so when your CM situation is set you'll force him up @ RW.... but then he doesn't have the natural pace of a winger, and since his offensive game works best when he can take a few steps into the box and uncork a proper straight-away belter (see: 2014 FA cup final) having him on the wing takes that away and basically leaves you with an overglorified tap-in-specialist who needs to be in the right place in the right time to get goals.

not to mention ramsey's workrate and marking/tackling is best utilized @ CM and that's where you get "the complete midfielder" who after 13-14 still has a tendency to go hollywood on you, but can be a !!!!! offensive threat when he lets the game/shots flow to him naturally (again, see 13-14. for the most part since then he's been trying to force his offense via hollywoodery.. and how has that turned out?)

>TLDR = disregard me; i suck cocks
>>
>>64633071
This is completely false
>>
in addendum, i wanna point out that it doesn't help that arsene basically sees RW as the veritable LF (left field in baseball) of the starting XI.... in other words in baseball when you have a player who's terrible in the field/defense and you want to "hide" him at a position to minimize any potential butchery from his shit defense, you stick him in LF cuz the thought is that LF is the easiest/least-important defensive position for a guy who is shit out in the field.

now i'm not saying that RW is necessarily where you try to "hide" a bad player, but i think arsene sees it as the one position where you can play another player out of his best/natural position (CM, #10, striker) because arsene is definitely not afraid to go with a cazorla, ramsey, wilshere, or even welbeck/walcott/(ideally-CF) @ RW when he's got a proper #10/winger/striker situation.

seriously, if everyone was healthy (laugh track here) you know that arsene would probably try to start ramsey/wilshere/cazorla (whoever isnt starting @ CM) @ RW as opposed to walcott, welbeck, ox, or especially campbell.... even tho i think there's more merit to developing a proper RW than trying to force in ramsey/wilshere like you gotta have messi on the field somewhere, you know?
>>
>>64633265
It's pretty entertaining man, lots of interesting characters as well and normie friendly.
>>
>>64633643
What a mong you are

>left field
>hiding players

You should take a look how much Ramsey 'hides' when played there, elmao
>>
>tfw you're watching that 08-09 season review video and early on theo comes in for the interview and says that he's naturally a CF and arsene is actively working to gradually install him there (even tho he'll gladly play anywhere on the pitch in the meantime)

...then he says it should take about a season or two before he finishes developing into a proper CF/striker

holy shit guys that 07-08 video was genuinely depressing to see how good eduardo was back when he had two legs. and then by the time you start getting into 08-09 it's the samir nasri show.... yeargh.
>>
>>64633939

i'm not saying that ramsey is necessarily "shit" @ RW, i'm just saying that not only do i think that you get the best out of him @ CM, but you also have a stronger XI when you have an actual/proper winger @ RW.

i just used LF as a comparison because the way baseball teams will often toss [whoever] in LF reminds me of the way that arsene will toss in a cazorla/ramsey/wilshere @ RW when the team is having a fitness crisis (not to be confused with an injury crisis)

but hey, you know i should obviously just eschew any thoughts i might have in favor of rubberstamping people who say "NUH UH RAMSEY IS AWESOME" cuz they said so.

>>64634306

touche... in fairness you watch these season review videos and they'll focus on someone's ~3-7 game goal streak and talk them up as the future of arsenal.... but then on the other side of the coin they won't even mention injuries until it's like "[whoever] just came back from missing 4 months with an [injury]" --- so perspective is also fucked.

Nah, Wenger does that because he thinks he loses possession with 2 proper wingers, that's literally the only reason.
>>
>>64634168
Our strongest 11 is literally with someone like Ramsey on the wing. Our system is based around such a 'roaming' versatile 'winger' to complement having Alexis on the left.

Just see our record for the calendar year in 2015 with Ramsey there and ozil and Alexis on the other two attacking positions behind the striker.
It's a balance thing

You're severely underestimating the role that the rw has if you think it's a place for

i never said that RW was for "hiding players", i said that the way arsene staffs it REMINDS me of LF in baseball where managers are often keen to "hide players"

in fact here's what i exactly said

>now i'm not saying that RW is necessarily where you try to "hide" a bad player

and again, i'm not saying that ramsey is shit @ RW or anything.... i just think that he's better @ CM and as opposed to having ramsey/wilshere/cazorla @ RW with another one of the two @ CM, i'd rather see ramsey (first and foremost) @ CM and then you try to have an actual ideally-RW @ RW.

but that's just me and i could be wrong....so in your ideal world if everyone's healthy and you've decided that maximizing ramsey's effectiveness/potential > maximizing wilshere/cazorla/walcott/etc... do you start ramsey @ CM or RW to get ideal ramsey?

----coq---cazorla
Ramsey-ozil--Alexis
-------striker

The problem with Ramsey is that he hasn't particularly found an ideal partner in the middle. We haven't seen him and coq tried out properly because injuries have never permitted it.
That could work, and then the rw is up for grabs. Wenger, I think is obvious, was hoping that ox could step up there.

I'd like to see
Coq Ramsey
Wilshere ozil alexis
Striker

Wilshere had a marvelous game on the right against Napoli way back when, and I love him so I'd like to see him get any role in the first 11. But Ramsey, coq and cazorla are just better atm. Injuries have been a bitch for him

Ramsey only looked like he wasn't doing his job because Flamini was so awful. If you watch the game back and watch every time Newcastle come forward, he may as well not be there. Just jogs around out of position until the play's passed him by at which point he sprints over only to leave space somewhere else
Truly a useless player, like playing with 10 men without the ball honestly. Never seen Elneny play of course but it's hard to imagine him not being at least ten times the player Flamini is.

What I love about Ramsey in the middle is that he's a massive goalscoring threat but 2bh we were terribly out of shape there yesterday. Him and Flim flam literally gave the midfield away to Newcastle. 67/76 passes playing in a distributor role for Arsenal (!) is awful. Cazorla used to have at least 80 successful passes in games like this and it's just obvious that our game lacks fluidity without him in CM.
We need both of them to start 2bh. Cazorla has to do the distribooting and Ramsey must somehow figure out how to use his directness effectively from the wing. It started to click before Cazorla and Le Coq got injured.
>>
>>64641930

>Arsenal are looking at a ยฃ42m bid for Borussia Dortmund's Gabon international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 26

Kek. Delusion as usual. He'd go to a big club like Liverpool (European success), Man United (biggest club in the world), Chelsea (despite their performance this season they have European success and multiple big cup wins in last 10 years unlike Arsenal) and City (chance to play with Aguero, Silva, Navas, Toure and so on is better than Giroud, Wilshere, Oxlade and Flamini).

But I guess clickbait be clickbait and gotta make you guys rage and shit since you live for moaning, like the joke club you are. You don't want success for Arselel as it would mean you couldn't be depressive cucks like you want to be.

the only reason he would go liverpool is history with klopp - literally no other reason
>>
>>64643141
Any player who'd choose Arsenal over Liverpool must be mentally ill.
>>
>>64643141
Difference is, and if you read my fucking post, is that:

1. There is a world-class manager at Liverpool
2. It's not an old senile cunt who's too much of a pussy to tell his board to fuck off when they grab him by the wrinkly balls and go "no you can't have any money it's gotta fund our cars... I mean stadium!"
3. PEA literally played with Klopp as manager. So why the fuck would he got to Arselel?
4. Liverpool know how to win European Cups, Arselel don't.
5. Liverpool have better history, better fans and better trophy cabinet than Arselel do

Literally the only reason he'd even consider Arselel is due to Sanchez (a guy you stole with like double the wage offer while you scream about City and Chelsea and their wages) and maybe Ozil.

>>64643202
See above, but you got one right so you're better than that Austrianfaggot and the trips.

>>64643210
Now now, let's not go that far, if you were offered double the money to play at one club, you'd be silly to pass on it. I would. It's dirty tactics and it's one of the things Arsecuck fans moan about due to City and Chelsea.

not really, De Gea, Rooney, Mata, and Schweinsteiger all earn at least as much as Ozil. Or Terry, Fabregas, Hazard, Costa, Falcao. Ozil being the highest paid Arsenalite.
>>
>>64625888
Ramsey should be given Coq or Elneny as a partner in midfield
Walcott should bench the lamppost again when Alexis returns
Gibbo just has to wait until Monreal dies
Ox has to get his confidence up again, either loan him out or hope for a brilliant performance out of nowhere
Wele will need time to get back into form, but he's capable backup
Jenko is shite and should be sold or kept as Debuchy-tier backup
Wilsh is pretty good, just unlucky as of late
(please remember, his two last injuries were accidental tackles)

Everything is looking great
Hope Giroud gets a red card or something so he has to be benched again

Why does everyone rave about Spurs this season?

Okay cool they're young. Okay cool Harry Kane was good last season. Okay that's great they've got potential.

But WHY are people calling them title contenders this year when they're clearly not?

In a few years if Poch can keep them together and they fulfil their potential, yeah sure then you can rave about them. But fucking hell people really can't shut up about praising this above average team just because they're young.

They play good football and completely dominated us when we played them. Having a few promising English players is always a good thing too.
Definitely going to finish in the top 4 imo
>>
It's going to be like this
>Liverpool

>Stoke

JUST is confirmed as we get BTFO by a meme team
>February/March
a spectacular series of JUSTs continues and we'll end up at 6th place and 7 points behind 4th (Tottenham)

They looked better than one year when they were title challenging and then completely flopped and barely got 4th (and then didn't get CL football because Chelsea won the CL).

But when they were up at the top of the table that season they looked GOAT.

This year they just look okay most of the time desu. Nowhere near as good as the media wants you to think they are.

same old muh plucky underdog story despite everyone forgetting how much money Spurs actually spent (and on shit of course). They have two (three at best) good players and had a decent amount of refball and luck already this season. 9 freaking draws, that's the same as Everton and and the joint most in the league. Not even good enough for top 4 imho once United get their shit together.
>>
>>64647737
yeah
look at the team they have
Strong core of youngish players with some more experience ones thrown in
Most bought for cheap as fuck prices by Moyes
Should be challenging for Europa every season
Instead their finishing of 5th appears to be a fluke ala Southampton

Spurs have -30m net spend over the last 5 years, to be doing as well as they are is impressive
but i agree they have no chance of winning the league and will probably sacrifice the EL again to try anyway

Should get top 4, dont see United improving for a while, just fluking their way through until the luck runs out again

City will walk the league once they start playing well away

Arsenal 2nd

Spurs 3rd

Looking at how shit their squad is and how clueless van Laal seems to be, I wouldn't be suprised if Chelsea finished the season above them. One thing I know is that I want us to beat them again.

>>64649328
>>64649330

>>
>>64649539
Ox will NEVER come good, at least not for Arsenal or any PL team

He'll be in the Championship with Akpom in a few years, where he belongs
>>
>>64649518
no one cares about Arsenal's net spend except for >us and it only gets used as an excuse nowadays .No one cares about it unless you do go on and win something big. They also only have those (albeit) impressiv numbers because they constantly sold their players for huge sums which is okay in my book if they actually did something with the money but selling Monkeyking for a 100 million and then spending it on absolute dross should be mentioned more, it does with Liverpool for example even though the media love them to death.
Once the EL gets going and the Spursday nights are kicking in they will turn those draws into loses and United will ease past them, maybe even another meme team. Agreeing on the rest though.
>>64649539
Van Laal is always good for a laugh but even his strange formations, player choices and the whole team being shit won't last a full season. Might also depend on how serious they take the EL I reckon.

I really wonder whether some people here actually watch our games. When we're putting Theo on for a late goal, the other team is already sitting deep and he has no chance to run in behind and looks ineffectual. Better to put in Giroud late since he's a more physical player and can then go up against tired legs.

>>
>>64666143
Theo can do either, but against quality defenders it's harder. The main reason is not Theo himself, merely the fact that as soon as he's on, the opposition manager, assuming he isn't like Barca/Madrid/Etc will order the team to play deep.

This, however, means that Arsenal know what's going to happen and can play round it.

Arsenal don't have a problem breaking down deep defenders, Theo might not get a goal, but he's forced a tactical decision which good passers like Arsenal can exploit.

However, the times when Arsenal play shit are the following:

When they're pressed.

Watch the Newcastle game, watch the West Ham game, watch the Saints game. They pressed, they don't let players settle on the ball and only Ozil and Giroud are any good at passing while under pressure. Wilshere is OK but isn't back. Carzola is too small. Ramsey isn't good enough atm.

Just like Pirlo, Arsenal don't like being pressed. If you defend deep, you'll be picked apart unless you've got insane defenders.

What's even worse is when the opposition uses CM/DM's to press Arsenal while the defenders stay deep. City should have done that.

Jiroo doesn't want signings

Tell me where we need new players? Just tell me where? I will explain the opposite judgment. We have very good players as well on the bench, young players waiting to come in. They are very talented.

I am not worried about it. I know that maybe we sign a player, an Egyptian one...No, not yet. It is close.

Danny Welbeck will come back in one month and a half. Theo Walcott can play up front, Joel Campbell is doing well with his national team up front. If I am less good or get injured, we still have a solution.
>>
Mertesacker on Poland:

Since coming to Arsenal, Petr ฤŒech has played well enough to make pretty much everyone forget about his predecessors between the sticks at Arsenal. Well, maybe not forget them, but I doubt there are many Arsenal fans aching to see ฤŒech replaced anytime soon. But he's 33, and while he doesn't seem likely to slow down any, he's not immortal.

Luckily Arsenal have an internal replacement โ€“ one of those aforementioned "predecessors" โ€“ and it turns out his teammates miss him! I am of course talking about Wojciech Szczesny, who's spending the year studying abroad in Rome. Here's what Per Mertesacker had to say about him:

Wojciech wants to compete. I think he's a good goalkeeper and he can still develop. The team wants him back - that's good for him. He's shown great character already in this team and I think he has got a bright future.

Szczesny has had a pretty good year at Roma so far, so at least at the moment it looks like the loan move was a good one for him. #thelads certainly like him back at Arsenal, so hopefully he can build on the first half of the year and go from there, and eventually come back to north London and realize his potential in full.

PEA would be insane but there's no way we'd get him in Jan.

Dortmund are rebuilding and if we win a trophy then he could be convinced to jump ship.
>>

>Jiroo doesn't want signings

Not really. He just slammed Shearer claiming that Arsenal won't win the EPL without 3 signings.

It's possible to win just like it's possible for City to win without Kompany.

Arsenal need:

DM
ST

That's it. Ibrahimovic wants to come to EPL. As for DM? Dunno. Lots of names get thrown around.

PEA would be amazing too, obviously, but Wenger won't want to fork out ยฃ45m on him. They might be 2nd, but I still don't think he'll bother. December he mentioned he wants to stay at Dortmund. Which is cool, but it could be a way of boosting his price.

It's not going to happen, obviously, but it'd be nice.

It's been long since thought that he is Jewmaican, gunnersaurus and Tet. He used to go by Tetsuya until 99% of the thread filtered him and he changed.

Regardless, you could never reply to them. They live for (You)'s. It's likely they're the same person. So, don't reply to him, Jewmaican or any other trip. Also, don't reply to Austrianflags.

not to mention why would dortmund sell aubameyang? the prospects of CL football is a bit overwhelming for them and they want a proper 2-3 year rebuild without the pressure of CL football?

tho i have to admit that it's kind of amusing that in euro football whenever anyone up and does great it's basically like "ok now the big teams will come and take him away" --- was it always like this?

IIRC, it wasnt like there was a whole bunch of alexis rumors going around forever like we've got confirmation from his brother that he wants to play here and etc etc.... it just kind of popped up one day like "hey >we're actually going to sign alexis" and it was like "whoa cool" and there he was taking official pictures a few days later.

at that time i expected any potential arsenal signing to go down to the last day, likely because the player was trying to see if they could go to RM/barca/buyern/city/chelsea/united/etc (for more wages) and didn't have to settle for arsenal.... but alexis changed that!

dude, while i applaud the high/er concept of your endless crusade against cancer, at the same time i'll reply to any post that's worth replying to.

having 3+ "DONT REPLY TO TRIPFAGS!!!!" posts per thread is arguably just as cancerous as having 3+ actual tripfag posts. it's kind of like how WWE/cena make money selling anti-cena shirts...

...hell would anyone be surprised if the tripfags turned their trips off to make some of the DONT REPLY TO TRIPFAGS!!! posts just to draw even more attention to themselves?

Chamberlain is fucking shit. Said it all this season with his performances.

It's not his ability, it's his mental attitude and decision making.
>not tracking back
>taking players on, failing and leaving is exposed
>ruining great counter oppurtunities
>couldn't hit a barn door with a cross
>has the nerve to smile and do the hands on hips after he fucks up
>that fucking haircut

Used to rate him so much as a future prospect too, but like a few anons have said, he's not really improved.

Atleast Joel makes mistakes but works hard to rectify them. Not to mention he's always running

The point is, every post they make is designed to get a response. You think you're replying to try and discuss shit, but they're just waiting for that (You). By supporting this, they'll keep posting bullshit.

These threads are cancer enough with the depressive shitposter emofags as it is, we don't need other shit. It's faggots like this which make the thread a target as it is.

Whatever, do what you want, I just hope that people don't reply and the tripfags end up giving up and actually try to be reasonable.

He was also very lucky not to get booked. He lashed out twice after losing the ball.
>>
>>64677553
The one where he stuck his leg up to stop the Newcastle player from running away was kind of dirty too.
>>
So, let's play pretend.

Wenger signs PEA for ยฃ45m.

BUT he does not win the title this year.
BUT PEA becomes, essentially, the next Henry in the following season (30+ EPL goals) and every season after that for at least 4. This does not mean EPL is auto won, only that he always scores 25+ EPL goals a season.

Would you take it?
>>
>>64677341

remember that home leg vs monaco when arsenal was unlucky to be in great form yet they converted nothing early and conceded 2 goals on counters? then later on they get a goal back and keep monaco at 2 all the way til the waning seconds of ST, when ox completely shits the bed and turns the ball over to directly lead to monaco's third goal?

FUCKING ELL M8.

ah well, at least it's not like >we went into that away leg and won 2-0 or something where it'd end up that ox's monumental fuckup cost >us the only winnable RO16 matchup in a 4 year span.

What a steaming load of shite this Ocx hate is. He's at that age where he switches from football being just fun to understanding it's a game of survival and dominance. unless injuries fuck him over he'll be a vastly improved player once he relaxes and stops pressuring himself to do everything himself

He did score the winning goal in the CS final, which tipped Mourinho over the edge and ultimately lead to his downfall. We can all be thankful of that.
>>
>>64677633

so you're basically asking if people would rather have a championship now or another club legend for ~5/+ years?

you kind of figure that one thing would lead to the other (and it works in both directions technically, though more likely legend >> championship) but still... it seems like you're out to prove that arsenal fans would rather have arsenal be sexy losers than ugly winners.
>>
>>64677553
Yup.

It's the lack of fucking professionalism that really gets to me. You're surrounded by world class players, World Cup winners, take some notice of them.

>>64677654
Classic chamberlain moment.

I miss when I used to get excited about him coming on. Now I just want him off, all that Newcastle game I was waiting for Joel.

>>64677678
Bull fucking shit.

Don't give me this "oh he's a young lad, he'll learn" shite. He's a professional football player, he's been at the club for 5/6 years now? He should know what's expected of an arsenal player.

I'll never knock a player for trying something positive, making attacking runs, trying skills and such (so long it's not in a stupid situation) but he just seems to be stuck in the "get it all the way down the pitch as much as I can, then decide what to do then" mentality. Rather than reading the game and adjusting to it.

Urgh, the other lads need to talk to him I think. Get the confidence up.

>>64677712
I suppose. But I'd rather he score in the league than in a pretty pointless trophy game.
>>
>>64677712

>CS final

sanogo's hat trick in the CS semis was the real stuff of legend, m8.
>>
>>64677761
>he should know whats expected of an arsenal player
because the last five years he's been surrounded by model professionals right?

Like Lukas 'dindu nuffin against good teams' Podolski?
Or Jack 'cheeky drinks & a fag' Wilshere?

What about Gervinho, Santos, Frimmy, Squilacci, Djourou, depressed giroud, depressed ozil, permacrock feo? Are you trying to tell me those are positive role models for a young impressionable teenager? Throw in Wenger's "internal solutions" style management and you get a bright young talent stumbling through potholes because his manager lets him figure shit out on his own. I'm not saying he's not playing like shit right now, but I will not accept this notion that he'll permanently remain shit. He is going to be a fantastic player for us going forward even if it takes him playing like shit this year for him to learn
>>
>>64677851
>cherrypicking
>ignoring the point
>criticises wengers managerial style
>doesn't realise it's this exact style why we'll be stuck with him for another 2 seasons till he gets loaned out.

Also. He's 22, nearly 23. Not 14. He's way past the 'impressionable teenager' phase. Again, he's a FUCKING PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLER.

American posters man. Ffs.
>>
>>64677678
>He's at that age where he switches from football being just fun to understanding it's a game of survival and dominance

You're just staring at the number now. Problem is he's done very little between 17 and 22.
>>
>>64677936
>>64677928
Theo did very little at the same age
RVP did very little at the same age
Ramsey was even worse at the same age
>>
>>64677928
I would still give him time. Wenger's history is littered with players coming good at a later age.
>>
>>64677959

They all developed more in that time. Denilson and Bendtner would make better comparisons.
>>
>>64677959
>>64678000
I just can't get that image of him losing the ball, slowly walking back, then standing there hands on hips while we concede.

I can't respect that
>>
>>64678020
>Denilson
He suffered a terrible knee injury that killed his mobility

>Bendtner
Didn't give a shit about his fitness and already thought he belonged to upper echelon of strikers. Terrible off the field as well

>>64678022
>losing the ball then slowly walking back
Ramsey, Ozil, & Giroud do that shit at least 2x per match
>>
Ox is Lansbury 2.0

can't wait for the twink to finally leave
>>
>>64678066
Untrue except for jiroo. Even then he tracks back more than most strikers.

And I'm talking while they're literally scoring, he's just stood there. Don't tell me you don't remember.
>>
>>64678098
If you're referring to Monaco, where he got tackled to the ground first and a speedy Yannick Fereira Carrasco scored on Ospina I don't blame him when he was the only one to do shit that match anyway.

If you're referring to the everton match, the ball ricocheted hard off of a defender right to Barkley who he caught up to and actually tracked but it deflected off of gabby's leg

If you're referring to the match against West Ham, Coquelin and Mertesacker were right there so there was no need to chase infield to try to stop that Argie

If you're referring to the 6-0 that was by far the worst game of his life and he was utterly distraught at that point

>tfw thought Lansbury would make it
it's always so hit and miss with those young players god damn. 95% don't even cut the grade and of the remaining 5% there are either tons of injuries or vast gulfs of inconsistency once they get older. I just wish that Wilshere makes it somehow ...
>>
Aren't you guys worried that Campbell's contract expires at the end of the season?

when chamberlain loses the ball he does try to get it back, often he doesn't get there in time though and his reaction speeds are a bit slow

what frustrates me most is his marking. on set pieces and even just in playaroun the box he'll be on a man and then just let him run while standing still or even running out looking for the counter. it's just frustrating that he's not switched on
