>my face when "people" actually think the team with the best defense and a top 10 offense in the NFL will miss the playoffs this season

>Alex Smith (objectively and statistically a top 15 QB, it isn't even debatable)
>Jamaal Charles (best RB in the game who will be 100% healthy, unlike the entirety of last year, he will put up 1,000+YDs/10+TDs/5.0+YPC,)
>Travis Kelce (a top 3 TE already and going into this season will be fully recovered from knee surgery 2 offseasons ago, 1000+YDs/7+TDs)
>James O'Shaughnessy (literally a Travis Kelce-clone)
>Jeremy Maclin (top 15 WR, 900+YDs/5+TDs)
>Chris Conley (a white guy trapped in a black's body, one of the smartest players in football, elite measurables, incredible upside)
>DAT (one of the fastest and most explosive players in football)
>Anthony Sherman (best FB in NFL)

>Best pass rush in the NFL
>Best LB corp in the NFL
>Best secondary in the AFC
>Top 5 D-Line

Smith needed to be carried by an elite defense and elite run game to even get that far. and once either of those is compromised expect a meltdown

I swear to god I want to express the disgust I have with Jim Irsay. This coach, who has been through a lot, took this 11-5 team to the playoffs 3x can toss him out like that. Not even get at the man who fucked up the roster this offseason, traded a fucking 1st round pick for that guy, almost got Andrew Luck killed, injured not only a fucking 41 year old back up, but a guy who hasn't played in years.

How can anyone sit here and not get on the fucking GM who has saying in all of the coach actions? I'm fucking astonished.

Fuck. Off.

We seriously do not care. We don't care about your shit team, or your garbage fanbase, we don't care about your city. One thing we certainly don't care about is your fucking memes. Christ, why do queefs fans even post? Do you fucks ever benefit, inform, arouse concern in ANYONE on this board? No. You posted this because you are solipsistic memeing pieces of shit who think they matter because people keep replying to your stupid copypastas and memes. I can hear you just now, you're thinking "xD but le smeth is elit-"

SHUT.

THE.

FUCK.

I dont care about your fucking QB either. This is a thread where you post shitty-made memes of your pathetic team for validation, hell it could be /s4s/ for all that matters - you are all just cancerous attention whores. The idiots on this board who continue to reply to your shitposts have convinced you that you have any kind of worth, guess what: you fucking dont. You're valued for nothing. Why you think posting the same fucking shit in every god damn /nfl/ thread is funny is fucking beyond me.

Words cannot describe the utter amount of hatred I have for you classless pieces of human garbage. I cannot stand your vapid fanbase or the way you constantly scream during a fucking game. You are literal scum who lives for nothing more than getting validation from random autists on the internet and you think we're going to tolerate you parading your fucking boring memes on our board? Think again, fuckface. Fans like you are the most boring people any NFL fan could ever meet, because you do nothing but spam the same fucking memes and copypastas or SOME OTHER SHIT WE DON'T CARE ABOUT. Fuck you. You have the audacity to expect us to care when you never provide any interesting discourse or say something interesting, you literally just consume and regurgitate SHIT. We whole heartedly despise you, and you should never forget that.

> According to an NFL source, Luck sustained torn cartilage on two of his ribs and was still coping with significant pain after returning to the lineup for four games in late October and early November. The injury likely affected Luck's performance after he returned from a two-game absence that the Colts attributed to a shoulder injury. Luck, according to the source, needed pain-killing injections to play and was quite limited by the injury, which impacted his throwing motion and likely his accuracy.

> The Colts attributed his absence to a shoulder injury but never mentioned his ribs. Luck was present at practice each day and fulfilled his duties.

Are you guys fucking stupid?

He's probably the best option out there right now.

He took a team with none of his players to two 10 win seasons (not something easily accomplished in this league)

He was fired because of his work as GM and personnel director. He tore the team apart and they lost trust in him because of that.

He's still a great coach, and you'd be a fool to not want him as a coach if you're in one of those positions at the moment.

Just don't give him personnel control.

the raiders are good now and will be favourites for the AFCW next year, and the jaguars have some of the best young offensive talent in the NFL, their defense is fucking awful but improving slowly, and all their recent high picks have been on offense. Fowler is the only defensive player they've taken in the first 3 rounds the last two years, and he didnt play a snap. Expect mad defensive picks and an improved team
>>
>>64579045
not every good coach is a good fit organizationally with every team, though. if the coach and front office don't get along or heavily disagree about control, it's just not gonna work very long. we've seen that time and time again with many teams in multiple eras.

the only way a niners coach will work is if he's okay with being the whipping boy for both the owner and GM while still being able to succeed in that environment somehow. a guy like chip kelly is going to be doomed to fail from the start.

>>64578964

>>64579241

the thing is, a good coach with too many "personality problems" who wants "too much control" is not going to last long here even if he has a few winning seasons. if he DOES find success, it's -despite- the organization, rather than because of it. he definitively CAN'T "turn the organization around" or whatever, because it's only a matter of time before he gets canned. having poor coaching is a problem, but it's not the root problem here. as long as the ownership remains like this, it will make any coaching situation turn toxic sooner rather than later.

Bortles, Robinson, and Hurns are all really good picks. Great draft overall, one of the better in recent memory, but drafting Marqise Lee was a mistake in hindsight.

They missed Pro Bowlers in Trai Turner and Devonta Freeman, and also passed over Jarvis Landry, John Brown, Jeremy Hill, and DAT.

throwing a few TDs isn't as impressive when you're just capping off a team drive. that game was all about field position and possession, just like it was all through 2011. the reason he had no INTs is because he'd rather take a sack, which he did FOUR times that game. all he had to do was not make mistakes, keep the ball in our possession, and make the simpler plays. he wasn't assigned to be creative and make shit happen, because he just wasn't good enough for it. was it a good game? sure. was alex smith phenomenal in it? hell no. he did his job of being a game regional supervisor well enough, though.

also just because I'm not laying the praise on thick for smith doesn't mean I love kaepernick by default. they both have major flaws.

Lee has looked better this year and every team misses players thats just how drafting goes. Lee was widely considered a steal where they got him, lots of people had him as the 3rd or 4th best wideout on the board
>>
>>64579880
Meant to put pickups instead of picks, my mistake. Still though, getting 1 TD and 161 yards from a 2nd round pick is unacceptable. Throw in Freeman gashing everybody or Turner keeping Bortles upright, and that offense would be record-setting.

>>
>>64580038thats always how it goes though, hindsight is pointless in drafting because all 32 teams generally agree on how good a player is and you pick them in that agreed spot. The players you mentioned didnt go for another two rounds after Lee was picked, and the players in and around that selection wouldn't have done much for the jags. The next 15 picks after that the only arguably great players there are timmy jernigan and stephen tuitt, then jeremy hill 16 picks later, who would have been a big reach at 39.

Its always easy to say that richard sherman or tom brady should have gone in the first round but you can only grade drafting on the players around the pick, eric ebron is a better example of a bad pick

Different kinds of qbs with Carr, bridge and bortles

Bortles is like a giant Brett farve. Balls out, big dude, keeps plays slice few could.

Carr plays kind of like Jim kelly. Quick as fuck, can thrown dragons from 40 yards in nice touch on deep ball.

Bridge plays like either a Jeff Garcia or and don't go nuts on me joe Montana. His footwork, old mans game, generally chilled playing style.

Bridge is an injury risk, carr digs his own hole and bortles Gets streaky and a needs better team.

Bridgewater is behind a bottom 5 o-line. Don't know why you say he's injury prone though. He's missed one game and he had to leave the Rasm game because Gregg Williams bountygated him. He does a very good job of scrambling and throwing it away. He is the true "can run but only when necessary" QB unlike Wilson and Newton.

He got knocked the fuck out because he doesn't know when to slide and tries to get a few extra yards.

Vikes o-line is shit because Teddy holds onto the ball way too long and can't connect on deep passes to save his life

the NFL, because there'd be no super major market the owners can use as leverage to browbeat their cities into funding new top-tier stadiums. next best option would be like vegas, portland, san antonio, orlando, memphis... places where you'd not only have to deal with getting a great stadium and relocation plan approved like they are now, but you also have to worry about whether going to those cities is going to be a good option anyways. LA is a huge market starved for a local football team for a long time, so the market situation is already as desirable as it possibly could be. cities are also making it harder and harder lately to approve public funding for new stadium projects, so if there's not a huge leverage by the league like having LA on the table, then we could easily see that trend not only continue but escalate to the point where all stadium projects only really run on private money. that's going to kill a lot of mid-market development in the long run, which is bad for the league. so unless something changes in the future, the league is standing to face a huge PR gain but a long-term financial loss by moving a team to LA.

>He can't keep getting away with it.
lel. He's gone to SBs in 3 distinct phases of his career. He'll do as he pleases (win Owls).

>Tenderfoot/Game Manager (2001, '03, '04)
It's no secret that the absolutely stacked Pats defense helped him greatly through those first 4 years. He really came into his own during the SB vs. the Panthers, even if he did had to win that shootout against >Jake The Man.

>Cursed Offensive Juggernaut (2007, 2011)
Give an elite QB two exceptionally/legendarily gifted WRs and a top 10 defense, and what do you get? 16-0, and an inexplicably massive choke.
Then give him two exceptionally/legendarily talented TEs in a new scheme with a shit-tier defense and what do you get? A far better team on the surface than on paper, and another SB loss to what in reality was a team about half a tier below what the Pats were (due to their defense alone).

>Fearless Leader Aging Like Fine Wine (2014)
That he was able to drag a two-thirds-injured team to 12 fucking wins in 2013, and then actually put up a fight against the highest scoring offense of all time is a miracle in itself, and he was easily better than receiver-babby Manning on that alone.
Then in 2014, most everyone is healthy again, and Edelman has his breakout season. The third 12-win season in a row, and an incredible playoff run to an Owl win amid mass scrutiny over what turns out to be a whole lot of nothing a few months later.
2015: almost a repeat of 2013, with an easier schedule. One game left in the regular season, and then, who knows?

Yeah, Brady's been a victim of the MVP curse both times he won (>18-1 and 2010) too. I had a graphic a few weeks ago that showed how MVP winners' teams did each season; only ~20 out of 49 made the playoffs at all, and I think 10 won the Owl, with like 3 or 4 Owl losers.

But people are noticing Cam make flashy plays and people a flashy player.

Also, how the fuck did you jump to saying all 3 are "equal" that Brady should somehow get it?
The argument should be Palmer v Brady, and the Cardinals play in a better division and Conference(ehh, not 100% on this)

If you base the MVP on only the stats of the player, you're a fool. Very few things are based solely on the numbers.
Cam has 3 less passing TDs than Brady with similar trash at WR position, and no Gronk
and I don't feel like looking up rushing tds. Now I dislike running qbs, but you can't throw those out because "muh qb stats" or some shit. Those rushing touchdowns changed those games, whether your autism allows you to understand that or not
