If you have a winning fight streak going on you get more points, if you beat a fighter who has had a decent win streak (Ronda, Weidman, Pettis Aldo) you get bumped up a lot, more points if it's a KO/TKO instead of a decision, Holly's had 2 decisions so I reckon that's why she's so low.
Jones and DMJ are so high up cause they haven't lost in a long time and that was also why Aldo was up there.

you need to get beyond this idea that fighters not having their hands glued to their face is a mistake, or that it will prevent them from getting knocked out (it wont). Its one of the biggest myths of striking.
The tale of what happened was a difference in positioning and timing. This is the core of what dictates successful vs unsuccessful striking. Aldo lept in on a straight line, mcgregor drew back and threw a straight

What I like most about Mcgregor is he is one of those fighters that are lifting the lid on what people thought was possible. For a while in MMA, almost every fighter was the same hodge podge mix of muay thai, wrestling and jiu jitsu. Now you have loads of these new generation fighters who are looking make what is old new again, and truly taking the philsophy of MMA to heart.
