Its not a bad thing but those who use FM regularly usually know the players they're talking about so they have an idea what that player is like anyway because they look into them IRL as well as FM form. Those that don't play FM just ahve their typical "HURRRR Y U USE VIDYA GAYME FUKIN IDIOTS" response even though most of the players are very well scouted and fairly accurate.
So I dunno that they gain anything other than bragging rights when their predictions correct with a player helping a team in some way.

The game has some bias towards the big leagues and is rather conservative with lower leagues IMO. But that's 'normal', I guess.

But FM ratings are more informative abd objective than most scout services, as well.
I've seen more discrepancies between whoscored ratings/traits and RL than with FM.
Though I'm yet to see what are actual scout softwares like.

Well he has high potential and has done for a couple of FMs now.. Players can perform above their current attributes and into their potential but won't regularly perform at that level until they achieve that potential so I'd argue its pretty accurate. He has looked very good at times and very poor at others and those current attributes would make for a fairly average EPL player, poor for someone at a top club but large enough for someone at that age that if they have high potential as he does he could easily become excellent.
